 - We loved having the free shuttle to Universal studios and City Walk.
 - The close proximity to Universal Studios is a huge plus and the free shuttle to Universal, leaving every hour, is the icing on the cake.
 - My wife and kids spent a day at Universal and they got there using the free shuttle at the beginning and end of the day.
 - We paid a decent amount of money for this hotel and choose it for it's amenities like coffee maker in room, refrigerator and free shuttle to Universal and the Metro.
 - The hotel provides a free shuttle service to the studios on an hourly basis starting at 8am.

 - Some people may find their location to the Highway a bit noisy,
 - The balcony was useless due to the overwhelming expressway noise since the room faced the expressway.
 - If it weren't for the ambient noise of the city, The Garland would otherwise be a perfect oasis.

 - Checked in to the garland, they swiped my card, have now found out they take 100 dollars per day you stay as a deposit, as I booked and payed through virgin holidays was not told about this.
 - They did take a $200 deposit which would normally be $400 to cover charges for room services if used,

 - - The bathroom door has a frosted panel on it.
 - The only thing is that the door to open and get out onto the balcony is very, very complicated to use.

 - One drawback is the extortionate car parking fee.
 - I paid 350 USD per night (+50 USD for parking) for a standard room, which is way too much for this property.
 - The only thing that I was unpleasant with is that there is no self-parking and you have to pay the $50 Valet charge for parking.
 - We did have a car so we had to pay for parking which was a little steep ($50/night) and there isn't much convenient street parking in the area, so definitely plan ahead if you have a car.

 - My biggest issues were parking and the airport shuttle.
 - The airport shuttle service is excellent and buses run very frequently to and from the airport.
 - The third party company that runs their airport shuttle is efficient.

 - We asked if there were any updated rooms and were told they didn’t have any rooms that had been remodeled/updated.
 - The rooms are also clean and comfortable.
 - The room assigned was mid-level and it was fine.
 - The best things about the rooms are the wonderful runway views.
 - Received room upgrade to runway view and enjoyed watching the planes.

 - The other problem I had is with the smell of smoking throughout the room and the hallways; it made me wonder how good their ventilation was.
 - There was NO SMELL of weed or cigarettes in the hotel.
 - I showed him the mold and he was like oh yeah that’s normal then left the room.
 - but assured me it was a non-smoking hotel and that was not allowed.
 - Seriously, this hotel smells like it’s cultivating Cannabis!

 - For the quality of the meals it was way over priced.
 - Paid $230 for two nights plus $100 for parking.
 - Who would pay 2.75 for one banana??
 - The Oasis Cafe food was expensive (for us somewhat offset by Diamond food credit)
 - If it cost $40 for an entire day then how could you charge that much for 42 minutes.

 - The bathroom was small and dark.
 - it also needs a renovation - the bathroom counter is so low that only a 7-year-old would like it!
 - But the bathroom is awful.
 - No grab bar in the shower.
 - Bathrooms are small.

 - The hotel charges a $32 daily resort fee with $20 that can be used towards food and beverage.
 - There is a Ritz Carlton next door for twice the price.
 - There’s an impressive collection of expensive cars that we got a chance to admire on our way out each time.
 - We finally ordered two burgers…as it turned out for $30 each… without any customization options and way subpar compared to the price.
 - but sadly here the rate is high.

 - I’ve stayed here several times over the last few years as it is one of the closest hotel offerings near the Staples Center and the Convention center, which are a quick stroll away.
 - but doesnt feel like it and is close to Staples center (walking distance).
 - It's in easy walking distance to the Staples Center and some good restaurants, making it a fun area to stay for a few days.

 - Pros- Beautiful hotel Clean rooms Friendly staff Nice gym Cons- Not much in walking distance I docked them a star because they are lying about the lounge being ‘closed due to covid’.
 - The room was large with a very nice bathroom with plenty of amenities.
 - The room was just okay
 - The rooms are spacious and comfortable and well furnished.
 - I’m having a five star experience with my beautiful 4th Floor room (and walk out balcony), beautiful pool deck, Illy coffee bar, exceptional meeting rooms and kind, competent staff.

 - I wasn’t able to use the pool and hot tub until my last day and both were fantastic - try to use them throughout your stay if you can!
 - Even in the relatively cold weather, the outdoor heated pool and hot tub were delightful, as long as we stayed in the water.
 - The pool area was also great, with the only exception was the hot tub was closed for maintenance the whole 4 days we were there.
 - The rooftop pool and hot tub were also a great place to lounge.

 - The hotel was central and easy walk to the convention center.
 - Aside from the close location to the convention center, I return here frequently for the spa.
 - It’s a great location in downtown Los Angeles if you’re attending a conference at the convention center or anything within LA Live.
 - The place to stay if are going to a convention
 - It is also just a few minutes to walk to the convention center.

 - Getting charged for something I shouldn’t have and not getting any feedback for it is unacceptable.
 - The rate was also very low and included $50 credit per night.
 - There were only two Charge Point chargers.
 - I also got a $20 credit for food which we also used for room service.
 - Make sure you receive documentation that you truly did pay cash otherwise they will charge your room and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
