The men that work up there are good bartenders, and made me some really cool drinks.

The rooftop pool had a great atmosphere, and the bar staff were always there to suggest a great drink.

You must go visit Riot House bar visit Chris and Justin they are LITERALLY  the BEST bartenders, drinks were delectable.

Had a few drinks in the bar, reasonable prices and good service.

Hotel is very well located for business or leisure with lots of options for food, drinks or shopping nearby and it felt like a safe area.

but the quality is excellent, we had a Queen room with Hollywood Hills view, but the most interesting thing about this hotel isn’t just the rooftop pool but the stories and tales it holds of who’s stayed there, it’s incredible, the Stones, Led Zeppelin, to name but a few, what’s these Roo
A and corridors must have seen over the years, loved it and a tale to tell, a must visit even if not staying but for a drink in the bar aptly named the Riot House bar.

but it was not clear what was included or whether there was a limit (where our booking included it), as it was table service and you select a drink and meal option from the menu.

The bartenders at the pool were sweet, Anna was wonderful and I loved to see her smiling face when she greeted me with my slushy, Marilyn Monroe drink.

We also had  drinks there in the afternoon.

The pool has incredible views of LA & the Hollywood Hills, and you could take your own drinks up there in the evening when the bar closed.

The breakfast and drinks were good quality, and the service was exactly what you would expect at and Andaz Property.

but really - you can't have a Nespresso machine in the hotel, in a Hyatt Category 5 hotel that is supposed to have free minibar snacks and drinks (another amenity that was missing)?? ?

A short stroll for late night drinks and good eats.

On our first evening (7/18) Brian at the rooftop pool created a delicious non-alcoholic drink for my daughter while I had a delicious frozen Marilyn Monroe drink.

Liked the complimentary happy hour and unlimited snacks and drinks.

It's a nice looking hotel, nice rooms, free coffee & tea in the lobby, free soft drinks in your room.

Love the roof deck pool and the views of Hollywood in this central, strategic location on the Sunset Strip.

There is a 360 view of the Hollywood Hills, downtown L.A. and the beach from the roof top deck and fun music playing most of the time.

Room was clean and had a spectacular view of the Hollywood Hills and West Hollywood.

The view of the Hollywood hills was exceptional.

Customer service was great, the woman who checked me in walked me to my beautiful room with an amazing view of the Hollywood hills.

but the panoramic view of the Hollywood hills to the north , downtown to the east, Koreatown to the south and Century City to the west almost makes up for it.

Loved everything about our stay at the Andaz, spacious room overlooking the Hollywood hills.

We loved the decor/color scheme and the view of the Hollywood Hills was amazing.

The swimming pool was awesome, as it was in an elevated position overlooking Hollywood Hills, with a bar and light meals.

junk destination fee you're at an extra $100+ on top of your room rate.

Car parking is expensive, asked for my EV to be charged overnight and it didn’t happen (at $65 plus tip), so had to waste time to charge the following day.

Pool was a tad chilly during our October stay and parking is pricey

The blinds were torn and broken, the tap was leaking and the free coffee that was supposed to be in the lobby every morning was never out when we went downstairs and we went out ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Also the restaurant is way over price, as this is not a five star hotel.

Also, our washroom door was covered in dust or mold which I wouldn’t have expected for the price paid (see picture attached) Worst of all, the shower was missing a door!

Food and beverage prices are a bit pricey

Wish the Destination fee that they charged was explained at time of check-in since using it at their bodega like area had to be used daily or you would lose it.

Hotel in general looked shabby in places and only a few seats around the pool with 4 empty expensive cabanas ?

Only drawback was it is quite expensive with $60 for valet parking ($55 self-parking), $270 for room and then lots of fees.

My one complaint isn't just the cost of parking,

Bit strange to me that you can only have one juice and hot drink with breakfast when paying what I would class as premium price for the stay

But not worth the over priced rates even with the crappy discount that SWV gave.

but pricey for what you get in terms of room quality.

Watch out for the surprise resort fee ($30 a day).

It is more like a discount motel with a grand Hyatt price. Shame.

but would not offer any discount on the rate, even after telling them the hotel across the road was $79 cheaper per nite.

On either side of the bed there were automated built-in nightlights that flashed to life at the slightest movement, blasting the room with light at all hours.

but they have the worse room ever with none vacuumed floors, towels with yellow stuff on it, and every night at 10pm there would be a sound that would start and not end until 2.

The union sends a bus load of protesters to blow horns and scream at the guest starting at 6:00 am.

First I called the front desk due to noise and they came up and asked her to be quiet, then the crazy behavior got worse and that’s when she tried to bust into our room from the adjoining door and the hallway door.

I asked to be moved and the front desk people could not even hear me.

but it happened to be directly across from the elevator which turned out to be really noisy at 2:30 am in the morning.

The strikers started early in the morning and finished around 7PM and made tremendous noise.

Our room was facing the Sunset Blvd with heavy traffic throughout the day

but do manage do drown out some of the outside noise.

2) It is quiet at night, we were back at the hotel before 10pm and there was nobody at their bar.

the band was loud enough to cause vibrations in my room , seven floors up .

You have to pass the bar every night when you entered the hotel which plays super loud.

We overlooked the strip and while it was slightly noisy, the hotel provides ear plugs!

The smell was horrendous   The hotel smelt of fat from the open cooking area on the ground floor.

The noise wasn't bad at all to be on Sunset.

Currently sitting in my room listening to construction noise.

We headed to the rooftop pool where it was definitely an LA scene with lots of younger singles and no other children.

Roof top pool has nice bar; and food service; excellent views; and great music!

but couple things to review:
1) The rooftop pool / bar was wonderful after a long drive to sit outside/get a drink/take in the view.

We spent two days at the rooftop pool- bartenders and servers were great and accommodating.

I found the rooftop pool remodeled and the city view phenomenal and largely unaltered from the previous set-up.

It was the first hotel on sunset and has a beautiful rooftop pool with views of Chateau Marmont and Sunset.

Restaurant staff are fantastic and the rooftop pool deck has an awesome view.

The rooftop pool is also a nice addition and offers great views over LA and the surrounding hills.

The rooftop pool is a must when staying here, it was just a little too cool and rainy this trip for me to get up there.

The elevator lobby stunk of sewer gas over the entire stay.

The room is dark, dingy and smelled like smoke.

Dirty carpet, greasy office desk, worn furniture, smoke smells.

Spaces are permeated by damp, ranky smells, as old as the building itself.

The only two things that let it down for us were the limited breakfast food selections and the stale a/c smell in our room.

but the rooms need an upgrade and the perfume stench everywhere is gross.

A very strong pot smell in our room when we checked in was never dealt with by the hotel.

Room was sprayed with a noxious air freshener that reeked of chemicals.

* “No” - this was the reply I received along with a nasty tone and argument as to why I had to go down and get it myself.

And the smoke alarm was broken and beeping and had to be repaired twice, disrupting my sleep.

I can’t recommend as the rooms while large feel a little dank with poor lighting and carpet that needs to be removed.

It needs a better HVAC system, It smelled moldy.

Maybe getting rid of those old smelly carpets would help.

.Free coffee in the am, variety of snacks to grab and go, free wine in the afternoon, aluminum bottles of water and refills on each floor.

Our room was ready on arrival and there was a free wine tasting in the lobby, with a variety of snacks on offer.

The lobby area is modern and there’s a water and coffee station and a few snacks.

It was ready for us within an hour. Andaz also has complementary snacks in the front lobby (great in a hungry pinch!)

Little touches really added to the stay, such as free snacks in the lobby and each floor having a free filtered water top up facility.

The concierges at the front are all very nice and there are free snacks in the lobby.

Positives were some of the staff and comp snacks.

There's free snacks in the lobby too which is great if you're running out and want a little snack for thee day.

The provision of free chilled water, wine time and the supply of snacks for guests was a generous and welcome touch

Andaz used to have snacks in the room , it was a feature of the brand.

The staff were wonderful, roof top pool was great, complimentary coffee each morning and snacks in reception.

The pool was refreshing, the room was cozy and the snack bar was convenient.

The snack area is also very helpful and we found the water bottle refilling stations great!

The hotel is very cool & gives you historic Sunset strip vibes.

The Andaz is right next to the comedy store on the sunset strip and comes with a destination packet including a $15 voucher to the restaurant downstairs and discounts to stores/ restaurants nearby.

Walking distance to Sunset Strip attractions.

The room was spacious and had wonderful views of the Sunset Strip.

I have stayed at the Andaz West Hollywood and its predecessor the Hyatt Sunset Strip on numerous occasions of the past 25 plus years.

This hotel is in a convenient location on the Sunset strip and the rooms & rooftop are fine.

John at check-in was able to score us a corner suite (which actually is really the entire end of the building) and even on the 4th floor, we had a view of nearly all of LA across the Sunset Strip.

If you’re looking to experience the infamous Sunset Strip, this hotel is staffed with the con-artists to suit you.

it was the best deal in that area of Sunset Strip.

My room was spacious for LA, and I got a rockstar view of the Sunset Strip!

but certainly in an ideal location for exploring the Sunset Strip.

This Sunset Strip hotel is steeped in music history given its location to iconic venues such as the Whisky and the Troubadour.

but the Andaz is a decent option on the Sunset Strip if you're a Globalist.

You are close to the sunset strip if that's your game.

Beds were comfortable and I would suggest requesting on of the highest floors so you can't hear any noise from Sunset Strip at night.

The location of the hotel on the Sunset Strip was perfect; the rooms were large, well appointed and very comfortable; the roof top pool was perfect for recharging; and finally the staff were great - welcoming, friendly, and happy to help!!

but there was trash on the ground by the trash cans and the overall building was not kept up and cleaned .

As others have mentioned, the building is getting a bit tired and could use a bit of a reno.

This place is an old apartment building which was converted into a hotel.

As the hotel website says, the hotel is a converted 1950’s apartment building, and they may have been exempted from adding an elevator. The pros, (washing machines!!)

This is an older building so there is some noise transfer between rooms, and breakfast is in the courtyard  so you may like to request an upper floor room if you are looking for a sleep in.

The Hispanic lady was very nice when we asked her about the area (which I found dodgy seeming people tried to scam us 3 times in 5 minutes near the Hollywood Walk of fame (don't waste your time here), then two blocks away from HWOF and there are worn outs buildings and people begging for money.

The hotel is in a old building and looking abit tired in some places,

Our kids absolutely loved the free snacks, drinks, ice cream and popsicles, the room was clean and huge and all the staff were friendly.

but it was the free soft, drinks, lollies, chocolate, chips and of course the Popsicle hotline which created memories that will last a lifetime!!

The kids were Instantly excited with free soft serve ice cream and unlimited soft drink and the pool.

Unlimited snacks, hot & cold drinks, continental breakfast, laundry facilities were few things that made big difference during our stay.

He got my husband a bottle of his favorite alcoholic drink and snacks and he also insisted on giving me my favorite bottle of wine (which was chilled in the fridge upon arrival).

The free candy and drinks was a plus for the kids they loved it.

Fantastic extras included like continental breakfast, soft drinks 24 hours, ice cream, snacks and from a mums perspective the included laundry service was excellent.

Wow, what can I say, we had an amazing time, the staff were fantastic, the property was great, we all loved the drink machine, the kids loved the ice cream machine, the hired movies and the snack bar.

Maybe a wave at breakfast or an awkward elevator conversation

It is a bit dated and there is no elevator so don't go if you want luxury,

There are no lifts and baggage needs to be carried upstairs.

Only small draw-back is if you are in a wheelchair or have difficulties with stairs as they don't have any elevators.

There is no lift, you need to climb stairs

There was a nominal charge per night,

One thing worth noting is that there is no lift to the floors, so I would suggest perhaps requesting a room on the first floor instead of the second, to save the carrying of luggage.

The reason I haven’t given it 5 points is that it is appearing to be very tired and could do with a little face lift

No lifts so be prepared to lug suitcases up stairs.

Great rooms plenty of space, fantastic pool and free snacks free ice cream and best of all the popsicle phone where you ring and staff bring out icy poles.

There was also a soft serve ice cream machine, pop machine, and snacks available 27/7.

Did I mention that breakfast is included, along with the 24 hrs free snacks, the free ice cream, the free soda, the free laundry (done for you), movie nights and a swimming pool that's set at a temperature that it's actually enjoyable to be in.

As well as breakfast, there’s free snacks, help yourself ice cream and free popsicles you can order poolside!

Amenities include a 24/7 heated pool, a poolside terrace for outdoor dining, free sodas and soft-serve ice cream, unlimited free snacks like candy bars, popcorn, and chips, free laundry, and a really nice continental breakfast.

A nice breakfast is provided, as well as ice cream and popsicles any time you want.

The free snacks and ice creams are such a nice touch and we felt well looked after.

Next, they have a soft-serve ice cream machine free.

We loved our room,which was right next to the ice cream machine.

Lots of free snacks as well as ice cream and soda.

Amenities - unlimited snacks, ice cream, heated pool, and the Popsicle Hotline were amazing. 2.

The pool, the free soda machine, free tea and coffee and soft serve ice cream all day, free snacks all day and the popsicle  hotline!

Popsicle hotline (fun even for the teenagers), snacks, ice cream, soda machine, well heated pool ….

They have an soda fountain and an ice cream maker that’s for free to guests.

You could hear loud children thundering outside your room at all hours as they do.

The place possibly needs updating in many aspects (my biggest issue was the dated loud A/C units),

Used sound machine to not hear street noise.

Our main tip would be to get an upstairs room - the floors are thin and if your neighbours above have bizarre habits like ours did then you get clip-clop footfall noises at 3am.

Certainly needs sound proofing as we had noisy neighbours and having a little one it was pretty disturbing few nights.

On occasion it was little bit noisy for us downstairs.

If they did I would tell them about the noise the last night and maybe give the hotel 4 or 4,5 stars.

Only minus is the pool which is open 24 hours a day, giving some
really noisy and late evenings.

The suite we were offered was on the ground floor (103) with a small balcony  facing the very busy and noisy Frankin Road - rejected that.

Sound proofing between rooms could be better

but I'm not sure I would stay here again, unless there was a refurbishment and the noise issues were sorted out.

but would suggest a room in the top floor due to noise.

Yes the rooms are kind of noisy and stuck in the 50s

We had to endure a noisy family who were clomping around, and sounding like they were moving furniture to 1.30am.
