but all the staff we engaged with -- front desk, restaurant/bar, valets -- were kind and professional and never gave us a standoffish vibe.

It can't be industrial chic inside with a clipped and manicured neighborhood outside.

I decided to book this hotel after reading all the good review in the web, the pictures look hip and inviting.

Very hip vibe, good restaurant and Alfred coffee shop in the lobby.

This is a fairly pretentious hipster hotel with okay amenities.

The hotel itself is super hip, cool, gorgeous, and swanky.

While young people will no doubt love how hip this hotel is, the location is really great.

Whether or not you will love this hotel hinges a bit on how well you can adjust to its distinct hipster vibe - which defines the hotel.

but cool and hip, fair enough for the price tag.

The hotel crowd are pretty hipster and the location in Koreatown adds to the vibe.

All in all, the hotel offers hip, comfortable rooms with a unique modern look, several convenient and reasonably priced eateries, and a convenient and interesting location.

With a view on Hollywood sign … you can expect something special.

We had a room on the 6th floor with a fantastic view of the Hollywood sign in the distance.

I had the privilege to enjoy the greatest view of Hollywood on the 9th floor for one night.

Very fast check in, my room had this from floor to ceiling window with a great view overlooking the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory in the distance.

Some initial highlights: Alfred's coffee in the lobby (check), Trendy bar attached to the hotel (check), amazing Hollywood sign views from our hotel window (check), awesome staff (check).

The view was immaculate (your bed is facing the window as you wake up to views of the Hollywood sign/hills + the Observatory) and the thoughtfulness of the space really made our stay serene.

We loved the exposed concrete walls in the hotel, the stunning views of the Hollywood sign from our room and brunch at The Commesary was delicious.

but I liked the View of the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory.

Room was comfortable and well decorated,  and even came with a view of the Hollywood sign.

Definitely take the Hollywood View upgrade if it is available, you will not be disappointed.

My favourite hotel in LA - the views of the Hollywood sign are stunning and the rooms have everything you need.

Whilst not huge, the setup was perfect:
-	Awesome view to the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory from the 9th floor.

However, from arrival the experience was positive; valet parking and check in efficient, rooms allocated on Hollywood view side of hotel - "we realise you are a family and need quieter rooms" - which was great.

After that i was really happy with a view toward the Hollywood sign and peace and quiet.

But we had a wonderful time, the staff was really nice, the room super trendy with a nice view over Hollywood sign.

If you can swing it, spring for the Hollywood hills view-- the view from the other side of the hotel is primarily of a Carl's Jr. Can't wait to go back.

The rooms with the Hollywood Hills view is spectacular.

We booked this hotel based on it having 4+ stars and paid for the Hollywood Hills view.

The rooms with a Hollywood hills view were perfectly set up to be productive with a great desk and view!

But if you get a Hollywood Hills view, you really won’t be looking at anything other than the floor-to-ceiling window view.

Hollywood Hills view rooms are amazing — I keep the shades open at night for a fantastic wake-up sunrise view in the morning — and the staff are wonderful.

I specifically asked for a quieter room since I am traveling with a baby and the hotel staff assured me that this room is quiet because it is facing the Hollywood Hills and we are on a high floor.

Having stayed in the Hollywood Hills View room, the view was awesome and worth the price if having a view is vital to you.

I’ve stayed on both sides of the 12th floor, highly recommend facing the a Hollywood Hills, it’s my preference.

The view over the Hollywood Hills is amazing.

On a positive note, we were lucky to have a great view of the Hollywood hills and the hotel's restaurant, Openaire, was fantastic.

The rooms are modern, industrial, contemporary, and I love the decor; I love staying on the Hollywood hills side for the incredible view.

It was clean, beautiful views of the Hollywood Hills, comfortable firm bed, and quiet.

The room was very clean and we had a view of the Hollywood Hills.

With Sensational views of the Hollywood Hills its just super chic, fresh sense style with clean lines!

One side of the hotel looks out onto the Hollywood Hills - which I recommend getting if you can.

And the view from our top floor room was sensational, an unobstructed view of the Hollywood Hills, Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory.

It's a modern and simple hotel located near Koreantown in LA.

The set up was modern and sophisticated with a relaxing vibe.

The room interior is amazing and very modern having huge floor to ceiling windows.

but not after having paid over $150 for breakfast, $50+ for parking, $50 plus for a couple drinks….don’t waste your money or time with snooty hotels like this and the furniture in the lobby is disgustingly dirty!

Breakfast is not included, you need to order room service and it is expensive.

Just an example, I had lunch at the pool, they separated the bill after I paid so that they could individually charge an amenity fee $30 plus tax $4.35 for each individual item on the receipt .

They told me the only alternative was to pay again for my stay and get a refund from the third party.

Possible solutions:
-Bring ear plugs (or they should be complimentary in the room)
-Book an interior room (don't pay for a view)
-Keep the fan on rather than auto to drown out the street noise

For context, I am a very sound sleeper who is rarely bothered by the typical hallway noise of a typical hotel.

They have lousy customer service and an expensive hotel without a parking lot.

Booked a 145 rate and only when receiving my folio did I realize my rate was 20 dollars more per day.

They charged me $25 per night with the name under "amenities" for using WiFi,

Please go somewhere else, and pool was cold, so what is the fees charged for????

The hotel has a "resort fee" which is a ridiculous

On arrival we were informed of the $45 dollars per night for parking, too expensive and no alternative available.

Let’s continue with the bed:
The hotel charges north of USD250.00 which is probably similar to the big brand.

The “$20 Amenity Fee” water was a small 8.45 fl oz./250 mL carton, which we only got on our first night.

Valet parking is expensive at 42 dollars per day

I would suggest bringing your own water because the water they provide in the room is overpriced.

Room service for a cup of coffee is 11.00, so it's a bit expensive

This is not a resort, it's just a pricey hotel, and this fee is not disclosed on their website and is pure profit.

For us it was the worst hotel stay we have had in this price range so far.

This was a very noisy Hotel, the noisiest hotel I’ve have stayed in .

The hotel needs to invest in double glazing the windows as it is extremely noisy.

Do not stay here unless you want to be woken up by airhorns from protestors at 7am!

If you like rooms that are like jail cells with TV's, noisy bars and traffic, quite rude staff, no parking, no good restaurants nearby - Then The Line is for you !

When I got back, I heard a siren that felt like I was on the first floor because it was so loud.

So bring earplugs or download a white noise app on your phone.

In my room, for a couple with a teen-ager, (three people total, two beds) we were tripping over each other and banging our head on the TV (hanging on wall corner) and tripping on furniture as we squeezed through to get to bathroom.

Especially as the shower had no pressure, was overdue for a remodel and the shower head came apart, and the fact that I could literally hear the guy in the room above going to the bathroom.

If you can tolerate the fan, it may serve you to block out the street noise.

but double pane windows and thicker walls would help a lot with traffic noise and neighboring rooms beside, below, and above us.

Unless you want to listen to loud music 24/7 go somewhere else.

It's very loud on both sides of the hotel from construction and traffic.

The bed was inches from the window with a black out curtain that didn’t go all the way down and the traffic noise was extremely loud all the time.

The window is not sealed properly so that you hear the loud street noise without filtering.

However, I think even if you're a deep sleeper, it would be tough to get some shut eye with the noise.

Beware - there is a nightclub around the corner from the hotel, and even on the  9th floor it was Very Noisy.

the noise in your room from the outside street is awful and so loud!

The mini bar is stocked with 80% alcohol.

The people here are so nice and the food is excellent.

The following day we ate breakfast at the hotel and it was very nice.

The lobby is beautiful, the lounge bar is great, openaire restaurant has fantastic food

Other than that, a pleasant stay with tons of restaurants and bars walking distance, Hmart two blocks away, and many more.

Being also that it’s in Koreatown you can be immersed with culture and there’s awesome Korean bbq everywhere within walking distance if that’s your thing.

I only give it an extra star because I enjoyed OpenAire restaurant, the pool, Alfred, and being able to walk to a lot of good restaurants.

Near plenty of places to eat and I felt super safe.

Also, we highly recommend the restaurant on the second floor as well.

Close to lots of great places to eat, both very walkable or via Uber.

The bride is a chef and she was quite impressed with the rehearsal dinner and brunch buffets.

but could see it from my window and it was a decent size and it looked as though you could order food and drinks.

The restaurant at the pool Is so beautiful great for pictures.

The restaurant Staff was the best I have experienced in years.

The restaurant was in a pleasant setting and (as I am a coeliac and cannot have gluten), I opted for omelette as these tend to be safe.

Rooms are not well cleaned, same with the hallways, rooms are TINY and if your room faces Wilshire be prepared to get zero sleep.

The rooms are small and carpets are old and looks worn and dirty.

For this we received a small room with a view of a brick wall and breakfast was extra, about £15 each if we ate in the hotel canteen, £25 each if we ate in the cafe.

That aside, for a small room, the bed frame is sharp and painful, the mock coffee table useless, and the mini bar severely lacking.

The rooms are so small that there isn't much space to layout your luggage.

The main problem for us was despite the super small room, with so many amenities and merchandising that you do not what is to be used or to be paid for, the problem was the noise of the cars on Wilshire.

Though the rooms may be small, what they lack they make up for in views of the city.

I was on the 8th floor in an ultra tiny room, smaller than my bedroom at my house,

The rooms itself are on the small side , we had a booked a double queen room.

The concrete walls and small rooms are a little odd and certainly might be off putting to some.

but for for $3.40 and only in the lobby or through room service, annoying wifi logins must be done every day on every device, rooms are small, storage is tight (made even tighter by a full 1/3 of usable space being taken up by mini bar items. really.

Me and my husband were visiting from San Diego and he made it really easy for us to find our way to front Desk.

The hotel staff is welcoming, always available, and friendly.

Adriana was incredible and accommodating throughout my trip.

Kelly was super kind to work with at the front desk while checking in and helping with dining recommendations.

I’m giving it 2 stars because it’s a great, walkable location and MOST of the staff was awesome.

The front desk was pleasant and helpful and the valet remained confuses coping.

Arlene and Paula on reception were superb and gave us great, helpful, cheerful, professional customer service.

Richard, the manager at the hotel, was excellent, gave us a list of recommendations, and was super friendly; the staff was on point and prompt.

Ahrama and Richard at the front desk were incredibly helpful and switched my room without a problem.

I particularly want to shout out the front desk team Paola, Kelly , and Arlene for your kindness and keeping me entertained during my stay.

There are thieves in the hotel and the staffs are super irresponsible.

The staff was very friendly and professional.

Pros: Dog Friendly,  no pet fees, great clerk at check in.

Front staff very friendly and quick to serve guests.

But most importantly, everyone on the staff was RELAXED.

The rooms have a great view, cool design and floor-2-celing windows.

The room was spacious and had incredible floor to ceiling window views of the city with an impressive minibar.

but have great views and feel very modern/industrial.

Great views and light filled rooms with really large windows which are nice.

Recommend spending the money and getting on the upper floors for the view and the quiet.

NOW FOR THE FRAUD PART- After checking out 2 weeks later i started seeing random charges from this hotel on my card for $30 then a week later another few charges $25 at a time!

but Troy on management would only send a bottle of wine and comp food and beverage charges.

I was charged the full price for the room.

I don't think the hotel's hospitality is at the caliber they're charging.

The billing at checkout was messed up and actually still not resolved.

Another note is that they charge $46 per night for parking, so definitely worth factoring that into your budget as we didn't realise until we got there.

I reported this and, hopefully, won't be charged.

Its the little things that matter, and charging a resort fee for a small bottle of water per day has completely shocked me.

In dispute with them now unfortunately as money has been taken off my credit card over a month after I checked out.

but of course, no one at the front desk seemed to know what money was, so he had to charge the parking on his card, but they wouldn't let him leave a tip on the card.

but the taxi had the card machine not working and didn’t know even the area I was supposed to be in to catch a pre-paid bus to Vegas.

How are they able to charge my credit card without a signature and while I was not there.

We got breakfast, parking, $25pp/day credit and a slightly-upgraded room for $250 (before tax).

They claimed we had ruined the duvet and so attempted to charge us $500 - yes $500 for something we did not do!!

The only drawback was the fees of $39/night charged for the overnight parking.

although the credit was not on my bill, and my bill was $150 more than it should have been that I would not be charged.

We explained that we refused the wine the evening before and asked that she not charge us the exorbitant $39 overnight parking fee, which she indeed dropped.

We asked for some parmesan cheese for our pasta, this took so long it arrived after I had finished eating my pasta – which the waiter clearly saw and did not apologise for – and then oddly we were charged $2 for the cheese which is a first in any restaurant I have been to in the world!

When we arrived at the front desk, the person in charge was talking to another hotel guest and he did not even say "hi" or "i"ll be with you in a minute" very basic stuff, nothing.

I had to ask for help with my bags when I was leaving as I was struggling to carry them down a few stairs and they charged me for the breakfast that they said they would not do.
