Since it was the host hotel for a conference I was attending, for reasons of convenience, I booked my lodging thinking that my experience would be just ok.

I was attending a conference in the hotel, so the room was incredibly convenient.

Well, stayed there 2 nights, while attending the conference at LA Convention Center.

I found it convenient to the conference I was attending and the staff were helpful.

Stayed here while attending a meeting at the convention center, about a 20 minute walk away.

I stayed here because I was attending a meeting, otherwise, with the abundant new choices in downtown LA, I might not have chosen to stay here.

We were in Los Angeles as my husband was
attending a conference.

The suite I was upgraded to was comfortable, clean and had a great view of the city.

Thanks Luis for the great room high up with a great view of the city.

The elevators to the room are on the exterior and there are views of the city.

PROS: fantastic city views, good downtown location, friendly staff, late check out possible.

Overall, our room was clean and the city view was amazing.

While the hotel was completely booked, they accommodated our request and had our room ready with City view.

but small with great views of the city lights.

Then the red tower has a bar at on the top floor that rotates with full views of the city.

Check in was easy, Lourdes assisted us and was generous enough to upgrade our double standard room to a king with with a fantastic view of the city.

The Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles has the "Sky Lounge", a bar that also offers food and which rotates 360° on a slow pace for some amazing, and constantly changing views of the city.

It was then that I re-checked my reservation, and I had reserved a “larger, city view, central tower room”, and that’s exactly what I was given.

Rooms do have fabulous views of the city.

We enjoyed the views of the city and didn’t really notice anyone “peeping” at us.

The higher floors in the hotel have nice views of the city.

The restaurant at the top of the hotel, which includes a revolving cocktail lounge, has the most beautiful views of the city.

I had a two room suite, with a great view of the city.

Rooms are reasonable size with great city views.

The hotel also is conveniently located downtown so it was possible to visit the beautiful LA Central Library or the very cool Last Bookstore between sessions.

There is parking less than half of the price just 2 blocks away.

My wife and I walked to a few bars and a fine dining restaurant within a few blocks so it was perfect for our evening

I choose to stay here for the reason that it’s most convenient to all the location I have to do.

Train station 3 and 5 blocks away - catch the train to go hang out in Hollywood, we did, 3 times.

Because of COVID you have to schedule pool time (2-hr blocks) and housekeeping to come to your room.

The hotel is close to many amenities needed and only 3 blocks from the metro station.

It was part of the hotel block available for the conference.

It is conveniently located in downtown LA.

For breakfast, I just walked down three blocks and there is a Target and just bought what i wanted to eat for breakfast every day.

Stayed here for convention and it’s a few easy blocks to the convention center and all of the LA Live area.

I would consider staying here again because of the convenient location

Excellent place to stay, neat and conveniently located near the convention center.

but the hotel is definitely worth it has a great location great walking distance to the metro station as well and it’s approximately five blocks from the staple center

but cheaper parking available within blocks.

I was able to recently and I can tell you that about 2 blocks away you can see the towering building lit up like nothing else.

The hotel’s location is convenient and in an area the appeared clean and safe (LA is a big city).

It is about 4 blocks from a Metro subway station, and about 8 blocks from the Staples Center.

When we left and finally received our final billing statement the room rate had been changed to 249/night and still charged the full parking fee.

It all started when I booked a room and my CREDIT CARD GOT COMPROMISED.

What are vouchers for if you're going to be charged for what you get?!

However, the “upgraded” room I received had dirty, frayed carpets, no outlets near the bed for charging phones, and curtains that were nearly impossible to open and close.

but if you're going to charge $49 a night please have a better system setup.

All of which will take months to process reimbursement while the charges accrue interest that I will not get reimbursed for.

The in room dining was another issue, doubled charged a delivery fee for one delivery.

I was somewhat annoyed with getting charged over $6 for my morning coffee

There are VERY few outlets for charging, so if you have multiple devices or people, lots of luck.

The Head Valet or manager in charge Daniel was very rude, he seemed aggravated every time someone did not have a valet ticket as if it was troubling for him.

though business card on file, they asked for a PIN, which it doesn't have, asked for another card just in case and they charged the room on that one when I asked that they didn't.

Although you can't use your app and have to pay cash or card, then it will work for any frequent user.

We were disappointed with the valet ($50 daily charge and long wait times for your vehicle),

Prime is here too: make a reservation and bring your card full of cash!

We definitely won't split billing and I will check the room meticulously when we arrive.

Watch out for parking charges -- they add about $50 bucks a night.

but they would add an extra charge of $25 so we said "no thanks"

The bottom line I won't stay here again since the parking is painful and the rooms are very small.

No, bad room, no toiletries in bathroom, no tissues, not enough towels, shabby old pulled towels, poor service in restaurant, grossly overpriced drinks in bar and the worst:  they gave me off brand Vodka when they charged me for Grey Goose.

My credit card was charged $413.49 for the full stay on 11/25.

If you’re a film aficionado, you will probably appreciate the array of movies that were filmed in the Westin Bonaventure.

Museum, Exit Game - Los Angeles, Lito's Cork Room, MLux Lifestyle, Mlux Lifestyle, Mandy's Skin Studio, Eternal Esthetics, Former Site of Schwab's Pharmacy, Shishi Ozan Myohoji Temple, The House of Polish, The Skin Care Company, 3rd Street Station, Chagoury, Kelly Slater Wave, Coconut Teaszer, Sparadise West Hollywood, Fine Arts Theatre, Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails, The Bzar, MAK Center for Art and Architecture -- Schindler House, J.F.

The hotel has lots of history as location for many film and television productions which they provide information about.

ALSO there was a whole movie film crew blasting music in the lobby in the evenings and they blocked both cross streets so we couldn’t even get into the drop off lot during our stay.. and the hotel didn’t even warn us about the film crew -_-

BUT I will say the staff at the restaurant is good.

There are fun facts about movies that were shot in the hotel you can look up if you're interested.

(in the basement by valet are posters of movies that were partially shot at the Westin..nice trivia)..so yes its older

but it has been part of many very cool movies, so that's awesome!!

My husband had always wanted to stay here since some of his favorite movies were filmed here so I agreed.

I love finding all the plaques listing the many movies that have been filmed here.

The hotel's call to fame is that movie was filmed there like forty years ago,

They have 1990's vintage movie posters and plaques all over the place to showcase the Bonaventure's role in films.

True Lies was the first movie plaque I noticed (hence the Tango reference - I love that song).

Iconic architetcional building which appeared in famous movies like "True Lies" or "Forget Paris", as you can see when using the elevators which are attached on the outside of the building and provide great panoramic views.

The hotel has also been in several movies (it is LA) and there are plaques by the elevators to make sure you know this.

There is bit of film history here with True Lies and In the Line of Fire movies being filmed here.

The staff were great, helpful, and proud of the movies that had been shot there.

I have wanted to stay here for decades, this place is famous for movies shot here.

Parking
  - Valet was full so I was told to self park.

We valeted and we would call down, and the valet didn't bring the car to us, since I  saw it was parked in one of the closer stalls we said that we would get it, and he said that's why I didn't bring it.. Um when you valet and pay $49 dollars for parking they should bring it to you.

Another note to all driving in, the underground parking entrance is short and steep and only a 6 foot clearance.

Valet parking fee is $50 per night, so you might want to investigate other options nearby.

If there is any complaint, it's the exorbitant price of parking.

Also, parking is expensive and there is usually a wait for the valet.

however, have a very nice valet parking area that is well lit and staffed and is much better than the parking garage at the Biltmore (which is cramped, dark, no staff anywhere, and feels quite unsafe).

Long, confused lines to get in parking structure' so-called "valet" parking, NO help with luggage, no luggage carts, no help at all.

The only hiccup of the adventure was that their valet parking was full and we had to park across the street, which is not necessarily the hotel's fault

finally agreed to remove the 50/day parking fee.

Although self-parking in the hotel’s underground car park is not an option and the valet parking fee is somewhat stiff we gather that both features are not atypical of the better LA hotels.

Here is why they did NOT get a good rating, and prospective customers should pay attention: 

* parking is atrociously expensive.

Also, if you have a larger vehicle I just wanted to point out that their parking garage only has a 6’0 clearance.

The parking garage is super expensive and it was actually full part of our stay so we had to look elsewhere to park.

There's no staff, no service, nothing is open, most of the building is empty, nowhere to park (you have to go across the street

but honestly needs to hire 100s more staff members to take care of those paying high prices for absolutely NO service.

Bar service and food options were sub-standard (ignored/not acknowledged and paid $56 for French fries and two drinks, one of which was missing a key ingredient).

but since it is not, I cannot rate it higher.

though most of the hotels' focus has been saving on costs.

Of course, the prices were spending in this Westin with the food being OK. During my stay in November 2021, there was no room service, which is sorely missing!

Front desk staff paid no attention when we checked in.

It's hard to believe it's part of the Westin hotel chain and it's ridiculously overpriced for what you get.

Worst part of our stat was the parking lot price, my car paid 50% of the cost of my room per night.

Almost $50 PER NIGHT parking fee applies!

The internet constantly drops out 1 of the worse connections I've ever experienced,  was told seeing as it was free and lots of people using it it was tough luck..i explained I'd be happy to pay if it meant I could get connection for longer than 1p minutes., was told not an option so tough luck.

I recently stayed here while attending a conference at the Staples Center and it was absolutely fantastic.

I was attending a conference and staying at the Luxe in LA when I got sick in the middle of the night.

The Luxe City Center Hotel is conveniently located to the LA Convention Center, where I was attending for a conference.

I was attending a conference as a speaker.

I booked the Luxe online as it was the suggested venue for the conference I was attending at the convention center.

This hotel is in an iffy neighborhood - addicts, drunks, filthy streets; they add a ~$25 charge per day to the quoted room rate, and for that you get nothing much.

So we ended up being charged for 2 rooms when we only received keys for 1 room.

They stated that my credit card on file had declined so they released my room 3 hours before I arrived.

And last of all, I asked for a glass of water and the lounge staff directly gave me a bottle of water and charged an extra $4 for it. >:(

I do like that you do need a room key card to use the elevators.

My brother and his friend joined us last minute and we were able to get their car into valet and an additional bed for them to sleep on with an extra charge,

We got hit with $150 in sur charges when checking out.

I have a charge on my card from my stay at the hotel that I want to discuss/potentially dispute (see below regarding sensor tray).

They warn you not to touch the expensive packed mini-bar because it is rigged to charge you immediately.

Like others, my key card took several swipes before it worked in the elevator or my door.

My key card didn't work properly in the elevator, the room and then again at the room after grabbing a bite to eat at the bar on the first night.

Frankly very disappointed that the deposit from my last stay which is meant to be held, was debited from my account for no reason.

Overall billing is sure a mess and confusing.

plus they charge to my credit card me around 80 dollars without inform me.

Our bellmen noticed we had a lot of our own drinks, so he suggested we call down for our own fridge as the ones in the rooms are filled with the minibars and if you even move them, you can get charged, nice to get the fridge delivered and not have to worry about anything.

even though they had charged our credit card.

Just be aware, and check your credit card statement after your stay.

The only issue I've had so far is an extra charge for $52.98.

I  wish that they would not stock the fridge with items and allow  guests to put what they want in the fridge,  If you move anything in the fridge it automatically gets charged to your room weather you used it or not.

Location is excellent right across from the Staples Center, Grammy museum, and lots of fine restaurants and shopping.

It's right across from the Grammy Museum, 3 blocks from a Nordstrom, Target and  the Whole Foods

The view from the room was average and we had the street view with Grammy museum across the road and a partial view of Staples center.

It's an easy walk to the financial district buildings and you're right by the Staples Center, the Microsoft Theater, LA Live and the Grammy Museum.

All that being said, the location is conveniently across from the Grammy museum, LA Live, and has many restaurants nearby.

Grammy Museum was washing windows from 2-5 am.

The purple line hop-on and hop off bus pick-up/drop location is in front of the hotel (Grammy Museum), that makes it good for tourists.

If you love music, the Grammy Museum is right across the street.

Hotel located directly down the street from the Staples Center, and across the street from pedestrian walkway with restaurants and night club, and the Grammy Museum.

It's right across from the Grammy museum, a Starbucks, several eateries and the convention center is roughly 3 blocks away.

The Grammy Museum is right across the street, as well as Live - a huge entertainment complex.

The open bar on the second floor looks straight across the street at the Grammy Museum, and is a great place to relax.

You can literally walk right across the street to Grammy Museum, restaurants, and Microsoft Theater.

It is located across the street from the Grammy Museum.

The Grammy Museum and the Disney Concert Hall are gems to visit and the Staples Centre (literally across the road) is great for sport.

Being right across the street from L.A. Live and the Grammy Museum, 2 places we wanted to visit, it was a no brainer!

Across the street from the Staples Center, fabulous restaurants , the Grammy Museum and the Original Pantry Restaurant!!

Parking is really expensive at over $50 a day.

And there is only the valet parking option, no self parking.

As everyone said, the parking $ is crazy expensive.

I also did not like that your valet parking is ridiculously over priced.

All he needed to do, if he was not sure if the parking had been paid, was check with the front desk, before I reached valet.

Like most hotels in Los Angeles, parking is a bit expensive around $53 per night with taxes,

Only downfall I would say is valet parking is a lil step,

Needless to say we parked somewhere else.

The parking at the hotel is a little steep at $48 per night.

$40 I expected the rest was a surprise, including the $48/night parking fee.

When I requested that I need to take a look, I was surprised to see $115+ charges for two nights parking.

Parking is expensive,  this is the case with most of the hotels in the area.

I booked the room for an event at the Staples Center across the street so it would be easier to walk instead of getting a ride or paying for parking.

On top my sat night problem, the valet parking is stressful.

Parking is egregiously overpriced at almost $50 a night.

The restaurant is overpriced for what you get.

And the worst was the parking fee, extremely expensive.

I in the end also paid for my stay with the same card that they said was previously declined.

What I received was extremely mediocre for the price.

This place charges a mid tier premium price

The fee amout was not disclosed properly and was high at check out $75 per night.

Uber to hernias beach or Santa Monica pier and it cost no more than $22!!!!

The prices they charge is not worth the hassle & arrogance of the employees at the front desk.

Room service was overpriced for a skimpy pizza and a caesar which lacked finesse.

Room is extremely noisy, you can hear music from nightclubs across the road and every conversation from adjacent room.

Huge noise of the ventilation forced system who kept us from sleeping.

Otherwise there was a clicking noise all night as if it was trying to come on.

There was a clicking noise all night from a gadget that almost looks like smoke alarm plugged into the wall by the chair thats next to one of the queen beds.

The one drawback for some might be the noise level during some stadium events.

Additionally, while working during the day I could hear people's conversations.

Could I hear the music from the bar at night?

You can even hear the TV in your room from the music shaking your room.

There is not many places to eat in and it the traffic was really bad.

I live in an urban area, and I am used to some noise at night.

This  e- central downtown Los Angeles hotel is allowing its Nixu Lounge  to operates with blasted music untill 2 o'clock a.m. We asked the front desk  In regards to the noise

The 20 year old, in room air conditioner is clunky and loud and will wake you up every time is starts and stops.

You can hear the celebrations from the nearby restaurants on some nights.

You can hear sounds from the adjacent rooms like those people are just in your room.

That coupled with you LA live, which was also very noisy, and the constant emergency vehicle traffic . .

Plumbing sounds like a comedy sketch, clunking and banging, no water pressure.

The ac unit in the room sounds like an old Soviet power generator.

but the noise is  5 decibels too loud for a sound night of sleep.

This hotel is 1 minute away from Staples.

Location is across the street from LA Live and stones throw from Staples.

Also, the location was phenomenal - everything was a walk away and the Staple center was across the street.

Stayed at the Luxe City Center Hotel Christmas day for the Lakers Vs. Clippers basketball game and hotel was conveniently located across from Staple Center.

we stayed there for a michael buble concert as we are 75 miles from staples and didnt want to drive back the same night after the concert.

Valet parking was easy and literally a 1 min walk to staples.

Great location if you plan on going to the Staples Centre, or Microsoft Theatre - it’s right across the street from both.

Came to the city for an NBA game at Staples centre and stayed at this hotel once again due to the easy positioning of the hotel.
