Since it was the host hotel for a conference I was attending, for reasons of convenience, I booked my lodging thinking that my experience would be just ok.

I found it convenient to the conference I was attending and the staff were helpful.

I stayed here because I was attending a meeting, otherwise, with the abundant new choices in downtown LA, I might not have chosen to stay here.

This hotel is a good place to stay when attending a conference in the nearby convention center.

The suite I was upgraded to was comfortable, clean and had a great view of the city.

PROS: fantastic city views, good downtown location, friendly staff, late check out possible.

Overall, our room was clean and the city view was amazing.

Check in was easy, Lourdes assisted us and was generous enough to upgrade our double standard room to a king with with a fantastic view of the city.

It was then that I re-checked my reservation, and I had reserved a “larger, city view, central tower room”, and that’s exactly what I was given.

We enjoyed the views of the city and didn’t really notice anyone “peeping” at us.

The restaurant at the top of the hotel, which includes a revolving cocktail lounge, has the most beautiful views of the city.

I had a two room suite, with a great view of the city.

Rooms are reasonable size with great city views.

Enjoyed a very comfortable room on an upper floor with great views of the city.

Got upgraded as SPG Gold Member to a superior room with a good city view.

Very nice clean rooms with views of the city.

The rooms were clean, decent size and I had a great view of the city.

Fun revolving bar with amazing view of city.

The Suites have nice views of the city and they are very quiet.

When we left and finally received our final billing statement the room rate had been changed to 249/night and still charged the full parking fee.

What are vouchers for if you're going to be charged for what you get?!

However, the “upgraded” room I received had dirty, frayed carpets, no outlets near the bed for charging phones, and curtains that were nearly impossible to open and close.

My accounting department had to fill out a form and send it over to authorize payment on a company credit card that had our Accountant's name on it.

The in room dining was another issue, doubled charged a delivery fee for one delivery.

I was somewhat annoyed with getting charged over $6 for my morning coffee

The Head Valet or manager in charge Daniel was very rude, he seemed aggravated every time someone did not have a valet ticket as if it was troubling for him.

though business card on file, they asked for a PIN, which it doesn't have, asked for another card just in case and they charged the room on that one when I asked that they didn't.

We were disappointed with the valet ($50 daily charge and long wait times for your vehicle),

Prime is here too: make a reservation and bring your card full of cash!

No, bad room, no toiletries in bathroom, no tissues, not enough towels, shabby old pulled towels, poor service in restaurant, grossly overpriced drinks in bar and the worst:  they gave me off brand Vodka when they charged me for Grey Goose.

My credit card was charged $413.49 for the full stay on 11/25.

The customer service was horrific and my accounts were over charged and promises made to correct it never were.

The Hotel refused to apologise instead insisting upon saying it was a computer error and the system automatically billed us this amount- what a load of rubbish.

I really hated to sleep in this room, the light socket didn’t work for charging the phone and I attempted to turn the television on,

I know I’m not the only one that likes to charge my phone at night and also keep it relatively close so I can hear it.

The bottle never arrived and my Visa was charged.

Worst hotel experience ever : they inadvertently charged my credit card

The Bonaventure charged and additional $30 for "handling" the box!!!

It was a great location with plenty of amenities.

The views are spectacular, there's restaurants, shops, a brewery, pool, tons of outdoor spots and in a great location near everything fun!

Our recent experience at the Westin Bonaventure in LA was a positive one; the rooms are comfortable the hotel us well located and the front desk staff and other staff are attentive.

The staff are very attentive and nice

The hotel location is downtown LA, convenient within walking distance to restaurants and bars in that area.

Rates were reasonable and being located on the edge of DTLA area means it's safe and there's lots of pedestrian traffic even late into the night.

It was in pristine part of downtown, very clean and located close to World Trade buildings.

The location was perfect for us to park our car (better daily rates in the World Trade Center Garage adjacent to the Westin) and either walk  or take public transit to where we wanted to go.

The location is close to my client, so it works well for me.

The location is excellent the rooms very attractive and on a special note the food in the dining room was absolutely wonderful.

Great location to walk to Grand Central Market, or catch the transit and explore Downtown, Koreatown, Little Tokyo, Beverly Hills and greater LA.

The hotel has lots of history as location for many film and television productions which they provide information about.

Bottom line: for what you pay you can find something as nice or nicer in a better LA location.

I choose to stay here for the reason that it’s most convenient to all the location I have to do.

But the hotel is located near trains and buses which made traveling the city easy.

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown LA so the drive from the airport will take about 25 min in moderate traffic.

If you’re a film aficionado, you will probably appreciate the array of movies that were filmed in the Westin Bonaventure.

There are fun facts about movies that were shot in the hotel you can look up if you're interested.

but it has been part of many very cool movies, so that's awesome!!

My husband had always wanted to stay here since some of his favorite movies were filmed here so I agreed.

I love finding all the plaques listing the many movies that have been filmed here.

True Lies was the first movie plaque I noticed (hence the Tango reference - I love that song).

Iconic architetcional building which appeared in famous movies like "True Lies" or "Forget Paris", as you can see when using the elevators which are attached on the outside of the building and provide great panoramic views.

The staff were great, helpful, and proud of the movies that had been shot there.

I have wanted to stay here for decades, this place is famous for movies shot here.

A Hotel as Unique at LA Itself: 
The walk from the valet parking to the lobby is like walking through memory lane as you witness the movie posters on display.

One cool thing I found was there was a video on YouTube which had clips of all the movies that featured the Bonaventure, which was cool.

For a restful, lovely LA getaway - complete w the movie scenes and glass elevators we all remember - pop on over.

Impressive that it was a hotel in several movies. Convenient

This is a large hotel used in many movies which was cool.

Love the film making history at this hotel, the views from up top, and awesome breakfast buffet,

Stay here if you need to be within day-time walking distance of The Broad, Broadway or the Disney theatre,

The architecture is amazing; designed by John Portman, it has been in a score of movies including "Interstellar".

Overall, a nice hotel, and certainly fun to see a hotel which I have seen so often in various movies (love "Line of Fire"-:).

Parking
  - Valet was full so I was told to self park.

We valeted and we would call down, and the valet didn't bring the car to us, since I  saw it was parked in one of the closer stalls we said that we would get it, and he said that's why I didn't bring it.. Um when you valet and pay $49 dollars for parking they should bring it to you.

Note: whether you are check in yet or not you drive down to the valet parking, unload, take your luggage up the elevator to the check-in lobby.

Valet parking fee is $50 per night, so you might want to investigate other options nearby.

Also, parking is expensive and there is usually a wait for the valet.

Long, confused lines to get in parking structure' so-called "valet" parking, NO help with luggage, no luggage carts, no help at all.

The only hiccup of the adventure was that their valet parking was full and we had to park across the street, which is not necessarily the hotel's fault

Although self-parking in the hotel’s underground car park is not an option and the valet parking fee is somewhat stiff we gather that both features are not atypical of the better LA hotels.

Arrival at the hotel is not well marked, as one enters the parking garage and then luggage and valet services will take care of your vehicle.

Here is why they did NOT get a good rating, and prospective customers should pay attention: 

* parking is atrociously expensive.

Also, if you have a larger vehicle I just wanted to point out that their parking garage only has a 6’0 clearance.

The parking garage is super expensive and it was actually full part of our stay so we had to look elsewhere to park.

There's no staff, no service, nothing is open, most of the building is empty, nowhere to park (you have to go across the street

Took 30 mins to find parking lot due to street construction.

Worst part of our stat was the parking lot price, my car paid 50% of the cost of my room per night.

CONS:  expensive parking, understaffed, uncomfortable small beds and starched bedding, no microwave, no room service, inability to call the front desk directly.

The parking garage smelled like a hemp farm and the smell was going through the ventilation into my room.

They try to call the Westin Bonaventure’s accounting again who tells them that they can’t add the parking and incidentals to the authorized card.

but honestly needs to hire 100s more staff members to take care of those paying high prices for absolutely NO service.

but since it is not, I cannot rate it higher.

Of course, the prices were spending in this Westin with the food being OK. During my stay in November 2021, there was no room service, which is sorely missing!

It's hard to believe it's part of the Westin hotel chain and it's ridiculously overpriced for what you get.

The internet constantly drops out 1 of the worse connections I've ever experienced,  was told seeing as it was free and lots of people using it it was tough luck..i explained I'd be happy to pay if it meant I could get connection for longer than 1p minutes., was told not an option so tough luck.

BUT the bathrooms are so tiny it is hard to turn around. The prices for Food in the restaurant is VERY high (even for LA)

TRAVELLERS USING A COMPANY CREDIT CARD -- please be aware, they WILL NOT accept the credit card unless it has your name on it when you try to use it to pay for your room.

The kicker was that when we left Monday at 8:30 am we had to pay another $60!

Only negative would be that you HAD to pay for Valet parking.

No one wants to stay in a filthy, roach infested hotel at a premium rate I might add.

Excellent staff/service - really great people across the board from the valet, front desk, restaurant staff, to the room staff.

Service was good (we didn't eat on site), I'm just talking about service staff meeting basic check-in needs.

They stood there for a week, and said the hotel had very good food options inside including Sushi, pizza, and sandwiches.

The kung pao salad was outstanding as good as in any of the fancy restaurants.

Staff in the restaurant were well-trained and very friendly.

The lobby restaurant was a good option for breakfast with decent food and a friendly server.

My wife and I walked to a few bars and a fine dining restaurant within a few blocks so it was perfect for our evening

Breakfast buffet has lot of selections and quality of food was excellent.

Breaks fast was tasty and the pool area is so much fun.

The view from our clean and tastefully-furnished 24th-floor suite was lovely and the daily hot breakfast in the lobby provided both variety and quality as did the hotel’s other restaurants and cafés.

There is a center area of the lobby that has a bar and quick service food.

I got a drink and food at the bar area, which was pretty good.

The service we received was great;  from the garage (no valet service at check-in), to checking in, and especially from the wonderful breakfast staff at the restaurant.

- a few bars, which we did drink from them all

Overall this place is the the bomb for a stay where you have it all.

It’s nice there are places to eat inside the hotel that are not expensive, from pizza to pho for a quick bite.

The hotel is maintained in the common areas, and the staff are great, we felt safe staying there.

The staff is lovely and accommodating, it really reminds me of a Vegas hotel.

but also to Jerry who was also very helpful.

From check in to check out everything smooth and professional especially thanks to Manager Frank Asseko.

BUT check-In was so easy and efficient IF you do MOBILE check-in.

The staff was very helpful and receptive with my parents who weren’t great with English.

Kudos to the Executive Chef and team. More than anything thé service we received from Tiko(?)

All of the hotel team members with the exception of that manager that I encountered during my stay were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The elevators are efficient and rooms are clean.

The rooms are nice and efficient, and they feel fairly fresh.

Being an Ex Starwood employee for 14 years , this has been my favorite brand.

We had a the one bedroom suite, which was perfect for our date night (I could sit on couch which she got ready) :)

The lady at the front desk that checked us in was so polite it's unfortunate that it all went down hill from there once we arrived at the bar.

It’s great location for sport trip: only 5 mins from staples center.

Very close to Staples Center for sports and concerts and easy access to get out for a walk or the Metro station.

It is close to shopping and restaurants and about a 15 minute walk from the Staples center.

but the hotel is definitely worth it has a great location great walking distance to the metro station as well and it’s approximately five blocks from the staple center

It is about 4 blocks from a Metro subway station, and about 8 blocks from the Staples Center.

We liked the property since it was close Uber ride to both staples centre and Korean town.

Attended various meetings and press conferences here in association with big event at the Staples Center.

although in downtown, is close to event centers like the Staples Center

This hotel had a great location not too far from the Staples Center.

There are many great attractions within walking distance like the famed Staple Center where the Los Angeles Lakers & Clippers play.

It’s also very close to the Staples Center and LA Live, no need to worry about directions or time!

Can walk to many locations, Staples Center, Broad Museum, Disney Museum and many many more.

The location to the Staples Center was good

The location is close enough to Staples Center and Downtown L.A. to participate in the events/activities yet far enough away to be relaxing.

Unbelievable stay, got to see kobes' second to last home game-10 minute walk to the staples center, the lobby is like no other with every amenity you can think of; multiple restaurants, shops, centralized bar/lounge/cafe all IN HOUSE, prime downtown L.A view from the room, the outdoor pool was a divine oasis and everything else I didn't mention was top notch and 4+ star Westin/Starwood quality

There's a lot within walking distance; we even walked to the Staples Centre.

OK location, 10 min walk to the Staples Centre area and all its attractions.

Staple Center close by plus large movie theater.

Rooms were clean, comfortable, and the views and service was amazing.

but it was very clean and well maintained, also offered some very nice views of downtown skyline.

The suite was spacious, with 270 degree view over LA.

As for the room, I found it to be comfortable and offering great views.

Great rooms with comfy beds and (if you’re lucky like us) a beautiful view of the “Hollywood” sign on the mountain.

Aside from the fun architecture and design as well as the absolute professionalism of the staff, the suite (two rooms with a section of wall removed) was lovely, the views from the green tower were spectacular, valet parking was really efficient, and the complimentary breakfast for Elites was simple

Cute elevators themselves can be an attraction (reminds one of Marriott Marquis in NY, now discontinued)

Terrace on the 3rd floor has a fantastic view of down skyscrapers.

My room was clean and had a nice view on the 23rd floor.

Our room was nice and clean with a good view on the 28th floor.

It’s a great location in downtown Los Angeles if you’re attending a conference at the convention center or anything within LA Live.

This Marriott hotel is in a great location and was close to the conference I was attending at USC Marshall.

I was there for conference travel and this hotel is definitely the top place to be in L.A. when attending a conference.

Got charged for things while staying there, then had to go trough my bill item by item.

Getting charged for something I shouldn’t have and not getting any feedback for it is unacceptable.

I mentioned to the girl at the check-in that I had my car and asked where the charger was if I wanted to charge my car (I have a Tesla).

Make sure you receive documentation that you truly did pay cash otherwise they will charge your room and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

The plug points in the room not working, no ceramic cups or mugs in the suite rooms, food served in the Club Lounge is poor quality & wines are charges at very high prices.

but expect a large service charge which we were told did NOT cover gratuity.

They charged me afterwards $ 288,35 from my private credit card.

I'm sure if I did not show up, the hotel would've charged my card, right?

No reason for them to be charging for a cabana either and then tell you to go get your own drink and food perhaps from room service.

Note as in all American hotels of this calibre your room card is needed to operate the elevator.

Was charged twice for my room and had to wait 5 days for the credit which charges and exchange rates made myself be out of pocket even more
Won’t be staying here again

If you stay here you better use the safe in the room or the maids may take your valuables and also be very careful when laying down your credit card or leaving the receipt on the bar if you order drinks from the bar.

However, they were pressed up against the wall, so if you didn't have a smaller square charger, you couldn't charge your phone and leave it on the nightstand.

However, that was not good enough for her and she told me that she was going to charge me with the regular rate, which was twice the rate I had booked.

Most disappointing was being charged shipping fees (incoming) for the items that
I had ordered from Amazon.

They still use the key cards that must be inserted into the readers on the doors and each time you use the elevator.

I’m having a five star experience with my beautiful 4th Floor room (and walk out balcony), beautiful pool deck, Illy coffee bar, exceptional meeting rooms and kind, competent staff.

but you can find a great coffee and pastries ( overpriced ) at the Illy cafeteria in the lobby.

All staff we encountered, including valet, front desk, Illy, house keeping, and restaurant were very friendly.

There's a good Illy Cafe in the lobby too for coffee and snacks.

There is an Illy cafe and bar in lobby as well as gift shop.

I was especially impressed with the ILLY espresso/coffee bar right in the hotel; what a nice change from the obligatory Starbucks!

Spectacular lobby area with bar, restaurant and Illy coffee bar (and a Starbucks a few feet away from the hotel if that’s your thing) , Very nice sized well appointed rooms with comfortable bedding and great views on the upper floors.

It was great to stay in the same location as the conference we attended.

Its location in downtown and next to the Convention center was very useful for my work.

Perfect location for events at the nearby Staples - and Convention - centers.

though we were sceptic about location, still around the hotel was safe and always people around.

The location of the hotel and the staff were the best part of the resort.

It is centrally located (if you want to visit LA sites close to downtown).

This hotel is in the perfect location offering lots of dining options.
