 - It costs $55 for “2 for 1” bike rentals for 4 hours.
 - I just expected a lot better for an expensive hotel.
 - Asked and paid extra for a partial ocean view Instead, we were given the view of a power plant, trailer park, with a faint view of the ocean behind them.

 - Finally, you are basically forced to pay for the valet parking which is an outrageous $42 per night, since the other lot requires you to be in for the night at 9pm.
 - Downside- Room was loud with traffic noise and long walk from room to lobby/valet parking which was a factor since I was traveling with 86 year old mom.
 - This hotel is pricey and charges $44.00 a night for valet parking (no other parking option).

 - no hot tub, limited use of pool and water park which the bathrooms and orange slides were closed, it was NOT worth the money, the staff was friendly and the room was centrally located and next to an elevator which was ok

 - - The hotel is close to Universal Studios, Warner Brothers Studios, The Brady Bunch House, and everything in Hollywood/Los Angeles.
 - The close proximity to Universal Studios is a huge plus and the free shuttle to Universal, leaving every hour, is the icing on the cake.
 - We were recommended this hotel by some friends due to its close proximity to Universal Studios and free shuttle.
 - Set in the perfect location for Universal Studios and close to down town L.A. We were greeted with door service at the entrance and welcomed at reception by a very friendly team.

 - but without all of the mid-city congestion and west side prices.
 - The cost is $3.00 to wash and $3.00 to dry.
 - but a little pricey.
 - Rooms are not value priced and even self parking can only be had with a serious fee.
 - However it is expensive.

 - This is our first time visiting this hotel, and I can say without a Doubt that we will be back for sure.

 - But we also walked down to the pool and swiped towels down there.
 - One thing I wasn't aware of when booking was parking charges,
 - Checked in to the garland, they swiped my card, have now found out they take 100 dollars per day you stay as a deposit, as I booked and payed through virgin holidays was not told about this.
 - They did take a $200 deposit which would normally be $400 to cover charges for room services if used,
 - One thing that stood out to me was the amount of USB charging points, this this was fantastic after a day in the city filming and taking pictures on phones and Go-pros.

 - There is one designated smoking area.
 - It was a damp and chilly visit to Los Angeles.
 - It smelled nice in the hotel, they offer several amenities and great games.
 - Didn’t love being in a room with paint smell initially.
 - This was pretty overpowering on my outlook.

 - Some people may find their location to the Highway a bit noisy,
 - The balcony was useless due to the overwhelming expressway noise since the room faced the expressway.
 - If it weren't for the ambient noise of the city, The Garland would otherwise be a perfect oasis.
 - All I hear is cars passing by.
 - We heard hall noises from outside our room and had smokers congregate nearby, making noise and smoke.

 - We had a lot of trouble trying to open and close the door, and I think they should be replaced.
 - My only issue was the doors that go out to the balcony, they pull out, instead of sliding, and then you have to push it hard to get it to close.
 - - The bathroom door has a frosted panel on it.
 - The only thing is that the door to open and get out onto the balcony is very, very complicated to use.
 - Cement the damn door off.

 - The hotel even has a trolley to take you to Universal Studios.
 - The trolley to Universal Studios was a welcome bonus!
 - Complementary trolley bus on the hour to the metro and universal studios was very useful.
 - The hotel offers a trolley to and from Universal Studios / City Walk which is convenient.
 - The Garland is 2 miles from Universal Studios and has a Trolley, that's very punctual.

 - We needed a hotel near LAX and this property filled the bill.
 - Walking distance to LAX terminals
 - This hotel, while the closest to LAX Terminal 1 (so close you can walk to it), is one of the quietist I’ve ever been to.
 - Very nice hotel that is close to LAX.
 - Overall this is a good hotel with an excellent location proximity to LAX.

 - Big, clean, warm swimming pool, and as it is outside: free airport noise and smell (-; Free Airport shuttle,
 - The guys next to us had salmon which looked and smelled fantastic.
 - The staff member floats a veiled accusation of us smoking in the room.
 - This hotel smells of excellence.
 - We got up to our room and upon opening the door, the essence of fresh pot smoke poured out of the non-smoking room.

 - Their free airport shuttle was frequent and quick.
 - If you take the shuttle to the airport - wait in the parking lot and not at the front entrance.
 - It offered complementary airport shuttle.
 - A nice modern airport hotel with open plan at ground floor with a nice breakfast buffet and a good shuttle to the airport.
 - and parking and airport shuttle on the premises!

 - Just walked over the rest of the way to the hotel.
 - We definitely recommend this property and will stay again.
 - I would book this hotel over and over again.
 - This is a decent hotel with a great location across the street from the Los Angeles International Airport, so you can literally walk to the hotel, which is nice.

 - If you are a Hyatt Member you also can check on in via the app and use your phone to access elevator, room door.
 - It just kept ringing with no one answering.
 - They told me that I have to call myself!
 - If I have to pay $200 a night for a room, I expect to know where the gym is, without having to call the front desk to find out.
 - but the hotel is dated, housekeeping is questionable at best (don’t take a black light to the bed) and room service doesn’t answer the phone in the evening.

 - Check-in was a little odd as I had previously requested late checkout at 6:30 pm and paid for it with a credit card ($80.00)
 - If they can they will charge for the breath you take!! !
 - Fast forward 20 hours later and now my key card is not working.
 - TIP: just to save you from calling the front desk, in order to turn on your tv, you need put your card key in the slot by the light switch next to the entrance.
 - Or even better, credit card holder.

 - Driver pulls into the Quik parking lot and opens the doors and the looks at us and then yells at us why we are still on his bus and we need to leave (apparently he was going off shift).
 - though we paid in and out parking pass which was $40.00, we had to spend 20min to find parking lot(it was Friday and 8story building).
 - but next time I'll use the parking lot boarding.
 - The valet being the first person I see at the hotel, tells me that self parking is $40 and valet is $55 when I declined to valet, he then tried to haggle me to agree to $45 for valet.
 - Gave me no instructions on where to park, how to get to my room, or the overall layout of the hotel.

 - The lady at the front desk was very rude and unfriendly and not at all up to standards for a five star hotel very disappointing for the price that I paid.

 - For the price and 4 star status, it's really like a dressed up 3 star hotel.
 - Mr. Pritzker, founder saw the future of hotel airports with the dawn of the jet age and paid 1.5 million for a motel named Hyatt.

 - Very close to the airport.
 - It was good to be near the airport and the beach and my meeting.
 - This is so close to airport with great sound proofing.
 - but with double panel windows the jet noise is absent though closest to the airport.
 - I selected this hotel for it's proximity to the airport, shuttle availability and comfy beds.
