but we’re surprised to find there was no lift when considering the hotel is on 4 floors you should be notified in advance
We are not disabled but anyone with restricted movement would find staying here difficult.

There is no lift, and  my room had a bathroom in the roof space above the bed area, up a rather steep wooden 14 tread staircase!

There is no lift, and some guests might not be comfortable traipsing up 27 (shallow) spiral steps to the first upper floor.

but no elevator, old fashioned paintings on the walls, douche in bathtube etc.

For us (old people 75 - 68) the lift was a fortunate circumstance.

The rooms vary in quality and since there is no elevator and lots of steps it is not the place for people with physical challenges.

We visited Quimper & adorable Pont Aven, the old quarter of Vannes and Josselin, as all were  easy to get to from the hotel 
The only negative we had was the Chateau has no elevator & it was 27 steps from reception to our 1st floor room ad 2 flights of stairs from our room to dining rooms below.

There was a very friendly welcome and one has the feeling of being in a well loved family home - it has been in the same family for centuries.

Very friendly service all around and a special bonus for the breakfast scrambled eggs - just delicious!

We asked for a drink in our room, which arrived promptly via a smiling, friendly wait person.

Friendly, warm with the perfect balance between enjoying a brief chat of the menu or region to noting every detail that we needed.

Service was attentive and friendly and everything was done in a relaxed and efficient manner without being precious.

Each and every member of staff from housekeeping to the front desk and restaurant staff/sommelier went out of their way to be friendly, informative, helpful and very fair in terms of transparency of prices, advice, options, etc.

My wife chose an omelette and again we only found this was an extra 20 odd euros when checking out
Be careful ordering a bottle of wine as if you ask the waiter they will bring the dearest and that could be very expensive

although we still paid far too much for a very disappointing stay.

The food  was poor, and I do not expect to be served Pollock  in what is an undeniably expensive and poor value restaurant.

but I think this was tired, outdated and massively overpriced - more like a 2 star guest house than a 4 star relais&châteaux.

Breakfast is expensive for what it is at €21 per person.

I think at these prices they could at least give you a cup of coffee and a croissant.

We reserved two rooms in the attic which were between their standard rooms and their most expensive character rooms.

However, the cost per night was an incredible bargain:  250 Euros for the first night; 125 Euros per night thereafter.

Whilst the experience was expensive we would certainly stay there again, probably for three nights in one of the smaller rooms as the whole ambience and the food is worth repeating.

but the Chateau needs to pay far more attention to the needs of their guests.

When staying in a reasonably expensive 4 star chateau we believe that most guests expect the decor, fixtures and fittings to be appropriate to when the original owners were in residence.

but again be careful, some are very very expensive.

I hope they don't change the fantastic atmosphere, period furnishings, excellent restaurant, grand breakfast, big woodland garden, professional staff / service.

Warm and attentive staff, beautiful suroundings and great food made my stay a really amazing experience.

The environment with its wonderful view of the estuary, the comfort of the rooms and the very helpful staff make for an exceptionally relaxing stay.

but Locquenole is one of a kind and a place to which we would be delighted to return.

Bathroom lighting is awful, "the twilight zone".

but the shower area was very small and the taps protruded!

These have walk-in showers, not bath combinations.

The only down side is the design of the shower box.

The bar staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when we could not decide which Rosé to choose!

This is a very nice quiet hotel, all rooms have a balcony or terrace facing a lake, really friendly staff.

Really lived staying at this hotel, was beautiful, the staff were friendly enough, and the room i was in had an amazing view from my balcony, the only down side to my stay was the food on the menu.

We know that this association of independent hotels has very high standards, and staying at a BW insures that you will get good value and a genuinely warm welcome.

We requested it to be cleaned at reception and had a 30+ wait!

I am now retired or else I would bring my employees here for brainstorming meetings and R&R too.

The reception is perfect and all wishes are fulfilled.

Breakfast is quite good (although I expected a little bit more in a France) and service very polite.

Booked this hotel based on location as we only had one night in Lorient and wanted to be based as close to the Centre as possible.

The staff was very welcoming, and location was right in center, easy walk to restaurant and other attractions.

Staff are the friendliest we have encountered so far, they go out of their way to help you.

We arrived at this hotel for three nights and were greeted at check in by a very helpful receptionists.

We could make a very nice excursion to Port Louis and in the evening we had a very nice dinner in a restaurant not far from the hotel which was recommended to us by the Hotel staff.

The hotel has free wifi, staff is very accomodating and friendly, and off season they can offer amazing discounts.

The restaurant, justifiably famous for its maritime specialities, offers a pleasing ambience and friendly service.

NO NEIGHBORS so only guest noise and car/cafe activity.

The only improvement would be a comfortable seating area for guests when the weather is poor.

Quietness assured - at least after the last dinner guests have gone.

Small, dirty room, just above the outside smoking area of the cooks so an early night with the window open is impossible.

but I countered any extraneous noise by leaving the window open and hearing the sea.

but not unreasonably expensive, with the bonus of being away from noise and crowds.

However the bathroom was tiny in comparison to the size of the room that didn't really seem logical or an efficient use of space.

although the bathroom was a bit on the snug side and we also had a balcony which was useful as it was extremely hot when we were there.

Taking a shower inevitably meant considerable flooding, fortunately there was no shortage on towels

I think it would have been better if the shower fitting was higher up and adjustable.

The bathroom had a bath with a shower fitting which was low down on the wall so to shower you needed to hold the shower head.

The windows are double glazed so the sound of traffic is only obtrusive with the window open.

Great friendly hotel with rooms directly above the rocky shore.

The menu is good value with lots of choice and the staff are very friendly and professional.

Superb and friendly service, great situation right on the rocky shore within sound of the of the waves.

The staff was welcoming and quite friendly, they had a few rooms still available.

but adequate shower room and a very small toilet.

Our supersized window opened to a "Juliet Balcony" which we left open at all times so we could hear the waves and smell the ozonne.

my sister always go and spend a few days there in the fall.

2 hours later from Roscoff, we arrived at the hotel and I would be the first to admit that I was not overly excited by the sight with which I was greeted.

A good friend had his wedding reception there and was delighted with the reception and quality of service. Superb.

Excellent service by hands on , owner Manager and staff always present and helpful .

The staff were so attentive, without being obtrusive, and we had a truly memorable dining experience.

I have eaten at Le Vivier on 4 occasions, each time my food has been faultless - fresh and wholesome, beautifully presented with the quiet, efficient service at which French restaurants excel.

It's only rated as 2 stars, presumably because it doesn't have certain facilities,

Things to note the rooms have no tea & coffee facility, no safe and the electric heating is on a timer from a centrally controlled location which means that the hotel can get very cold until later in the evening when the timer begins..

There were no coffee and tea  making facilities.

Everything was perfect : hotel well located for our planned activities, bedding, very quiet room, breakfast, very friendly reception, and tips, especially for restaurants all located nearby.

but as mentioned very basic, friendly staff are on hand to checkin and advise on the local area, rooms contain a bed a desk and a TV..

Me & a few friend stayed here weekend just gone (26/4-28/4) found it easy to find & the staff very friendly the manager Stefan especially.
