I hope they don't change the fantastic atmosphere, period furnishings, excellent restaurant, grand breakfast, big woodland garden, professional staff / service.

In fairness when we complained about how shocking our room was the manager deducted the price of breakfast as a good will gesture,

The dinner was expertly cooked and presented and breakfast was more than adequate.

We had dinner in the restaurant on one night - delicious French cuisine in an elegant setting.

The breakfast buffet was elegant and we particularly enjoyed the smoked wild salmon.

The kitchen prepares outstanding meals and breakfast was heavenly!

The accompanying vinaigrette was delicious.

They gracefully accommodated our need for less rich dinners and concocted delicious soups and salads with an incredible lobster dinner.

There are good restaurants in nearby Port Louis and Lorient, as well as in the Chateau's lovely restaurant & charming breakfast room.

Breakfast buffet is copious and includes any extras that you request, such as eggs, bacon or an omelette.

but we’re surprised to find there was no lift when considering the hotel is on 4 floors you should be notified in advance
We are not disabled but anyone with restricted movement would find staying here difficult.

There is no lift, and  my room had a bathroom in the roof space above the bed area, up a rather steep wooden 14 tread staircase!

There is no lift, and some guests might not be comfortable traipsing up 27 (shallow) spiral steps to the first upper floor.

but no elevator, old fashioned paintings on the walls, douche in bathtube etc.

For us (old people 75 - 68) the lift was a fortunate circumstance.

The rooms vary in quality and since there is no elevator and lots of steps it is not the place for people with physical challenges.

We visited Quimper & adorable Pont Aven, the old quarter of Vannes and Josselin, as all were  easy to get to from the hotel 
The only negative we had was the Chateau has no elevator & it was 27 steps from reception to our 1st floor room ad 2 flights of stairs from our room to dining rooms below.

My wife chose an omelette and again we only found this was an extra 20 odd euros when checking out
Be careful ordering a bottle of wine as if you ask the waiter they will bring the dearest and that could be very expensive

although we still paid far too much for a very disappointing stay.

The food  was poor, and I do not expect to be served Pollock  in what is an undeniably expensive and poor value restaurant.

but I think this was tired, outdated and massively overpriced - more like a 2 star guest house than a 4 star relais&châteaux.

Breakfast is expensive for what it is at €21 per person.

I think at these prices they could at least give you a cup of coffee and a croissant.

We reserved two rooms in the attic which were between their standard rooms and their most expensive character rooms.

However, the cost per night was an incredible bargain:  250 Euros for the first night; 125 Euros per night thereafter.

Whilst the experience was expensive we would certainly stay there again, probably for three nights in one of the smaller rooms as the whole ambience and the food is worth repeating.

but the Chateau needs to pay far more attention to the needs of their guests.

When staying in a reasonably expensive 4 star chateau we believe that most guests expect the decor, fixtures and fittings to be appropriate to when the original owners were in residence.

but again be careful, some are very very expensive.

Breakfast, reasonably priced,  is of the standard Mercure type with some local specialties added.

The buffet breakfast offers many choices ranging from organic products, several breads including hot preparations.

The location is good if you have business at the port.

Stayed during a business trip and it was great for what I needed; warm, clean, all required facilities and USB charging sockets which is always helpful.

The hotel has a great location in the heart of the city centre of Lorient, near le quai des Indes.

We picked Lorient for its central location to the sights we wanted to see and didn't spend much time in the city or the hotel.

We were concerned about car parking locations

It is well located, you find a lot of free public parking spaces in front of the hotel.

the staff is very kind and helpful, the restaurant is very good with a good service, the location of the hotel is perfect if you want something in the heart of Lorient.

Excellent location right in the center of town and walking distance to most of the places you would want to go to.

We stayed three nights in a Privilège room at the second floor, larger and more comfortable than other rooms of the same type we experienced in Mercure hotels located in more touristic cities (we were three adults).

Hotel is located in the center of Lorient; we chose this hotel because of its excellent location for the Interceltic Festival.

Again; great location an right in the middle of Lorient.

Parked in the free lot across the street both nights without any issues.

Free parking means parking where you can find it, in the lot across the street or street-side.

Two of the rooms overlooked a parking lot, the third room looked over a ledge that ran the length of building and seemingly made the room very unsecure.

The Mercure is in the city centre of Lorient with easy public parking just in front.

Forget about easily finding a free parking place before 4 pm.

Few parking spaces are availables - reservation is recommended.

Locate in the center of the town and offer free parking.

although some drawer space would not go amiss.

but if you are there for a few more days you run out of space to put stuff.

but a bit dated, plenty of car park spaces at rear of hotel or on frontage in public area, breakfast was a bit sparse as well.

In general, the hotel’s common spaces were pleasing.

Everything was perfect : hotel well located for our planned activities, bedding, very quiet room, breakfast, very friendly reception, and tips, especially for restaurants all located nearby.

Breakfast was good and plentiful and good value.

but the family who run the hotel were wonderful, great breakfast and they sent us to 
Chez Gino best Italian restaurant in the whole of France which was about half a block away.

I have stayed here five consecutive years in September it is very clean with ocean views at the front the breakfast and evening meal menu is very good and high quality .

The Wifi was free and very good, breakfast was not included.

The breakfast was as expected and the restaurant down the street that had been recommended was quite good.

but clean rooms with TV, shower/bath, toilet, free Wifi, breakfast etc.

Although parking was on the road, there were plenty of options and the hotel was surrounded by a host of restaurants.

but the Manager, who was on reception, very helpfully ‘phoned a local restaurant (La Brasserie du Coin) to check they were still serving.

but everything felt deserted, The restaurants on the street were on our first evening there closed(Sunday) and on Monday just 2 opened.

The owners were charming, the hotel throughout was spotlessly clean, our room was spacious and comfortable.

The hotel has a little bar area which is nice to have a drink at instead of going to your room only does breakfast.

but as mentioned very basic, friendly staff are on hand to checkin and advise on the local area, rooms contain a bed a desk and a TV..

There were 2 individual bedrooms within one enormous room both sharing a reasonably sized bathroom.

Bed Room was 1 bed with very little else.

The room was clean and nicely decorated and the staff were helpful.

A cozy, nice and well located family Hotel, nice, hard worker and professional staff and clean and comfy facilities.

A husband and wife team, they were so lovely.

Helpful proprietor who helped us with opening times for the submarine museum.

I do recall that one of the owners, a woman, was very helpful and her English was passable.

Me & a few friend stayed here weekend just gone (26/4-28/4) found it easy to find & the staff very friendly the manager Stefan especially.

The staff are courteous and helpful and the bedroom we stayed in was spacious and comfortable.

However the bathroom was tiny in comparison to the size of the room that didn't really seem logical or an efficient use of space.

although the bathroom was a bit on the snug side and we also had a balcony which was useful as it was extremely hot when we were there.

Taking a shower inevitably meant considerable flooding, fortunately there was no shortage on towels

I think it would have been better if the shower fitting was higher up and adjustable.

Staff is really friendly, breakfast is great and location is really convenient.

The breakfast in the morning was just right and best of all was how quickly our rooms were cleaned every day, no waiting.

She reports the hotel as being very central,  clean, with a good shower and lovely breakfast.

We loved the breakfast - especially making your own soft/hard boiled eggs!!!!

Bathroom lighting is awful, "the twilight zone".

but the shower area was very small and the taps protruded!

These have walk-in showers, not bath combinations.

The only down side is the design of the shower box.

This is a very nice quiet hotel, all rooms have a balcony or terrace facing a lake, really friendly staff.

Really lived staying at this hotel, was beautiful, the staff were friendly enough, and the room i was in had an amazing view from my balcony, the only down side to my stay was the food on the menu.

Our room was a good size and we enjoyed relaxing and making the most of the balcony with the lake view.

The setting on the lake is quiet and peaceful.

The swimming pool was welcome in the hottest week of the year, and included an outdoor relaxing area, sauna and steam room.

food was good, covid rules well applied, lovely lake right in front of the rooms with nesting birds.

The dinner was very relaxing with the sunset on the water.

The restaurant is OK if you dont want to drive to the beachside and there is a Bar off Reception.

Professional football players of French first League are coming here before playing, it may contribute to a better performance in the pit the next day  :)

We found the air con in the room a bit noisy and the buzzing finally got me out of bed to turn it off.

When we reported this to the reception staff in the morning we were told that in actual fact the air conditioning was "not on yet" as it wasn't hot - I thought climate control was the guests choice and not in fact the hotels!

Too many people and buffet for breakfast.

And the restaurant is great for breakfast and dinner.

Hotel breakfast was very good, and the choices as found at other IBIS hotels we have visited in France.

I felt that customers didn't have lots of choice, I usually enjoy breakfast

We took breakfast 2 hours before the end of service; on Sunday, service was OK,

Apart from just one croissant, there were no pastries or cakes; no one came to check or top up.

A check with reception reveals it is only open at the weekend in July  and August there are no signs explaining this.

but we were very disappointed to find it closed the next evening despite the notice on reception saying it was open.

- The room was extremely hot, we were unable to work the air conditioning as it didn't seem to be connected - we spent the night with the window open in an effort to achieve an acceptable room temperature which led to an night of very little sleep due to the constant noise of the very busy dual carriageway running alongside the hotel!

Although just off a busy N road the 'IBIS Styles'  hotel is set back from the road and quiet.

Very quiet, super friendly staff, great rooms  and great value.
