During the weekend, the charges go high bt you can still bargain if you are good at it.

Staff are friendly, they accommodated early check in request (which most hotels do at a charge).

I stayed in grand hotel  for one week on walking street i stayed here ten years ago now it is tottaly diffrent place they have renovated the property rooms are very good according to the price i am a frequent traveller i dont see much hotels give you breakfast till 11.30 in the morning and they pack the break fast for you awsm they are very helpfull they give you one hour extra for checkout without any charge staff is very good room amenites all great water bottles complimentry mini bar tea coffe with cattle nice cozy room i am going to stay her for shure

but can be paid both in bath and with creditcard (without a percentage fee added on top, well done!).

This is my favorite hotel in pattaya.. in walking street.. indian food restaurants are very near to this hotel.. no guest charges.. breakfast no good rest everthing is fine.. missing . .

The best part of this hotel is that they dont charge any guest fees.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Pattaya nightlife, so the hotel is most suitable for the people who have come to Pattaya to enjoy that nightlife.

We stayed here for 2 nights and location is good, near to the beach and basically on walking street.

The loud music went on till 4am every night.

The street is LIT n alive AF in the night and whole night there is music playing and ppl r on the street chilling.

It means that my room faced WS and so I could hear the music and noise at night.

Hotel is located In walking street extremely loud music till 3/4am in the morning so if you like your sleep find another hotel.Stayed here 3/4 times this will be the last.Staff are unpleasant,rooms are old.Rooftop sundeck is not looked after loads of old rubbish lying around.

However, the noise from music in the bars goes on till about 3 or 4 am.

The loud music and commotion of the walking street does not seep into the room and therefore you can rest in peace.

Get a higher floor, so that you get the views and beat the music that goes on all night long on the walking street.

Taxi : Ground tour/driver : We hired a Taxi driver from Bangkok as we know him and trust him ( Name Phun , Cell +66 87 043 2419 ).

although it was difficult to sleep until 2 am, we found having the AC on full drowned out the music.

but the staff are to be found wanting.Also the music is very loud from walking street till 4/5am so would bring earplugs.

Live music 20 mtrs away till 6 (SIX) in the morning.??

What comes to noise and was actually really disturbing was noise of live music coming outside the hotel.

On the downside: you'll hear the noise of Walking Street until late at night in your room, so bring earplugs.

The only set back would have been the noise from Walking Street.

AC compressor made sound like a diesel generator.

It can be quite noisy until 3am depending on where your room is

The hotel is near Walking street and hence not recommended for family travelers as it can be both noisy as well as notorious while walking to this hotel from the tuk tuk drop off point.

The airconditioning was very loud and quite inefficient.

Being so close to Walking Street, you can hear the nearest nightclub clearly in your room till the early hours,

It's noisy at night, even at the 7th floor.

On the upper floors you wont even be able to hear the parties happening on the ground when youre trying to sleep.

but if you are looking for a quiet time, avoid this hotel.

I was on the 5th floor and hardly heard the street noise.

The rooms are built in such a way that the heavy noise from the street dosen't bother or hinder our sleep.

but this time better.As before hotel is located in walking street so very noisy at nightime.Rooms are ok staff aren't the best mostly anything you ask is a problem for them.Rooftop sun deck is great for a tan and some peace and quiet.

In spite of being in the middle to Walking Street, zero noise levels inside the room (stayed on 9th floor - Sea View rooms)

Never going back to this hotel, because:
1.

Noise from the neighbouring clubs could be heard from certain rooms.

on floor 9th there is not so much noise in the night,

This hotels provides sea view rooms and the view from Roof Top is amazing and gives complete view of Pattaya.

Coming to the Rooms, they provide a Huge LED TV i guess of 55 Inch in every room.

I love tha fact that you can just walk out the front door and be in the center of things and you can party and get back to the room quick and safe.

The rooms with a balcony also offer a panoramic view of Pattaya bay and Walking Street (see my photo).

So, i recently stayed here in a room which provides an ocean view.

The family room is a two bedroom apartment, which is great for trips like this.

The rooms are okay and the views are great.

Best hotel, clean room, the ambiance was good, took few minutes to check in for 9 people, welcome drinks are served in the lobby itself as we are making entry in the register.

Rooms are big enough with balcony facility.

Big and clean room and very comfortable bed.

The breakfast is Indian which we like most..Rooms are little big size,neat and clean..Staff is very helpful..overall nice place to stay in pattaya

The hotel has clean and good rooms and great place to stay for bachelor.

Rooms are comfortable and on a good standard.

The hotel is few steps from walking street, the rooms are fine (regular shower, closet, safe - no balcony), and the breakfast is basic.

but that didn't really concern me; I just needed a place to sleep.

however it shouldn’t impact on your sleep.

My advice would be to stay out until the early hours and then sleep during the morning.

Now on to the staff.They are just not friendly at all.Main problem was the morning I was checking out.I had slept in(demon drink).Was to check out at 12,woke up with them ringing the room at 12.01(no joke)12.03 door gets banged open the door member of staff marches in and starts packing my rucksack and tells me to hurry up,cleaners appear couple of mins later and march in start  to clean and pull faces and talk about me in thai.Ok I slept in

I dont mind noise as I have very sound sleep.

I kept aircon off during the night time when I was in sleep.

On the plus side: if you intend on spending most of your time visiting Walking Street, it's the ideal spot: walk out of the reception and you are in the middle of the nightlife.

The bedding was comfortable, the room was clean, staff was nice.

When you arrive the staff are very good and you feel that have booked a nice hotel.

Very friendly staff always ready to help you for everything.

Everything in this hotel was good except the Staff.

for those of you that are in Pattaya for the reason that many guys are there for - yes, this hotel is "guest-friendly".

Also, the bed was surprisingly comfortable, staff were fine and the roof top view of the sea was simply spectacular! !

Grand Hotel Pattaya is one of the best options for stay in Walking Street.

Walking street is the hip and happening place in the night for all the party animals!

Its a good hotel for Walking street and is walking distance to about everywhere.

Located just off Walking Street this hotel has water & city view rooms.

Bang on Walking Street, tucked in an alley.

However, if you are solo, traveling with a mate, and want to over indulge walking street experience this is the place to stay.

Vibrant nightlife area Walking Street is few steps away from this hotel.

Right on walking street so you can enjoy your full night at walking street and very easy to go back when you drunk ;) good price according to location.

The higher Floors i guess 5 to 7 have Sea view rooms.

Breakfast is a joke :) Just had once, skipped for rest of the day :) :)

View is good only if you are in higher floor with corner rooms, sea view

The view from my room was pretty incredible.

Every room had Balconies to sit and enjoy the view.

Book a room which is on the 6th floor as then you would get the sea view from your rooms.

I refused to stay in that room so they upgraded me to a suite which was great, great beds, very clean, great customer service, wonderful view of the water.

Everywhere you need to go is walking distance like sea beach, message centre, pubs.

View from balcony is too good and u can spend time there.

There are 2 sunbeds on the top which give amazing city views and its so private to sun bathe, we were the only ones there the whole day.

They gave me room on 8th Floor (805) in Aug. Everything is in your reach, clean, view, facilities.

The room was big and has the sea view which we got.

it has a balacony with most silent and lovely view during day .

Though near to the walking street - the hotel is quiet.

Although the hotel is very close to walking street it's really quite in the rooms and you don't hear any noise in the late evening.

As an example, there literally was hole in the wall

However, the view from the window of my room was non-existent - my window was facing a brick wall and I could only see the sea from one little corner.

Small room, 1/3rd of the sea "view", stale smoke smell in all of the aforementioned category rooms, old and worn out furniture, furnishings from 1990s and naked wiring jutting out of the walls.

Also pair of soiled pants hanging up on wall.

If you are not the snob who would take offence to every crack in the wall or worn off paint on the doors, and realise that you are in Pattaya, then this is one of the best you could get, so close to the street.

The rooms on the lower floor have no real view, just over the roof of a building below, or onto a blind wall on the side.

but be aware to choose a standard room, i saw one and there was a wall you up to the window so no light and view from the room.

I booked a room on Agoda 2 blocks away (total dump) **** had roaches and spiders on the walls .

The only nice thing we experienced here is the driver who picked us up in the Pier, even he doesnt speak english you know he is trying his best.

The ocean and beach were 20 steps from my front porch.

The beach was clean and nice good for swimming and snorkeling.

The hotel is situated on a great beach and all rooms are bungalow style.

The location on Pattaya Beach is excellent.

Located on the beach alwith great bungalows in the amazing garden.

Breakfast is in a central location in the resort with views of the beach and beach bar.

The only one who had a friendliness is the one who pick me up from pier.

Their bed is very comforting.This resort is very relaxing and it is by the beach.

The beach is lovely and water crystal clear .

Wonderful staff, breakfast and of course the beach access.

The beach was easily accessible and we also went to its sister hotel (Mali @ Sunrise Beach) to use its pool.

The hotel had great views of the beach and the free breakfast was great - order it and they cook it fresh!

There are perhaps 3 or 4 moored within the vicinity compare to the hundreds lined up at sunrise beach including the Mali Sunrise (the sister hotel).

Not 5 stars hotel

Arrived smoothly from Pak Barra pier to Sunrise beach ( all the speedboat will docked at Sunrise during low season).

Be that as it may, this Mali Resort was second best on Koh Lipe, trailing behind Serendipity Resort on Sunrise beach (unbeatable view of emerald coral reefs with superior villas).

Breakfast is good with the incredible view of the beach.

The staff are really helpful and friendly and the views at the beach were breathtaking.

We stayed for 4 nights on sunrise beach and thought this was nice - until we got to Mali!

Two sides of the bungalow were glass so you have the most unbelieveable, expansive view of one of the best beaches in Thailand!

You can also walk to Sunset and Sunrise Beaches.

We booked a Beachfront Bungalow, on the left side if facing to the beach, it was clean and comfortable.

The place to go on Pattaya Beach which personally I prefer to Sunrise Beach..

Thank God it was only for 1 night and then we moved to a really nice hotel at sunset Beach.

Mali now has another resort on Sunrise beach and we were able to use their sun beds the day we wanted to stay there, which was very nice of them.

we had a beach view room which was large with an outdoor bathroom.

We much appreciated the outdoor terrace with two chairs overlooking the open space garden area so that we could quietly read while still having a view of the beach.

Breakfast is served either on the beachfront tables or under the large trees on the property, and both locations allow a beautiful view of the beach.

We stayed in the “ garden wing” and each bungalow as a totally glass front and each directly faces another one.

We were escorted to our bungalow which was the cheaper option of "Garden Wing views" bungalow.

The bungalows are very pleasing to the eye and nicely blend in with the surroundings to create this tropical garden feel.

We booked a garden view room and were upgraded to a Balinese luxury villa :0)
The room was perfect, very spacious with a bar fridge, tv, safe, outdoor bathroom with 2 shower heads.

Beautiful layout resort with garden, front reception just yards from the beach and hanging hammocks on the coconut tree you can imagine the view.

The gardens were gorgeous and very well maintained.

Theres only a couple of bungalows on the very front of the beach all the rest are in the garden.

We stayed in two adjacent garden bungalows, about 25m back from the sand, and had an amazing holiday.

(the only 200m stretch, pretty clear from longtail boats)

We book 2 rooms.. One Exclusive and one Garden view..

The garden rooms here and indoors and tropical outdoors.

The garden villa was comfortable for a 1 week stay, although the bathroom could use an update

The bungalows are located in a wonderful garden, just steps from an even more wonderful beach.

Lots of sunbeds and good umbrellas plus natural shade in the garden.

Hotel is inside a cool, tropical garden , in  front of the beach.

The units in the resort are very cosy and clean and private the gardens around the units are a tropical paradise..The staff are very helpfull and polite, Good food service, an breakfast included was yummy and they have a good menu for lunch and dinner i really enjoyed my stay in Mali Resort is a piece of paradise on earth.

The garden bungalow we booked has a comfort bed, adequate space with very little privacy (villas is facing each other arranged in 2 rows) and the condition of the washroom is not really what you will expect for the room rate you paid.

Stunning terrain: beautifull, big garden.

There is no pool area or large bar area to relax with drinks.

- No swimming pool available at this hotel,

I saw a few complaints that there was no pool.

The hotel has no pool, and the beach is actually not that great.

There is no pool, and the AC didn´t work properly so it was a real hot experience.

The property has no pool or gym or other amenities.

They don't make good food for babies, there are no babychairs and no pool.

If you are looking for swimming pool, this is probably not what suit you best because we swim in the sea instead of pool :D 
If you scared of insects or mosquitoes, this is probably not the best for your too because the WC is "semi-outdoor" while shower area is open (head up you can enjoy sky view & tress).

Would recommend Mali to get some new sunbeds with madras instead of plastic (some are broken), and perhaps a pool for the kids.

Forget swimming pools, fountains and so on, this is not that island-type.

Sure this isn't a "resort" as you would expect a resort to be in the western world - there's no pool, fitness centre or roller coaster,

Staff are arrogance, not a friendly, not informative, poor communication skill.

No breakfast buffet, only a la carte, always same poor choices.

The negatives were that the overall maintenance of the resort grounds and bungalows was poor, the wifi was spotty at best, and the bungalows need serious updating and improvement such as replacing the palm leave thatching on the roofs to help reduce the heat in the rooms.

Two years ago the problem were the beach chairs that were partly broken and in poor shape, now they have replaced them and they added some soft cushions to them.

but the rooms are in very poor condition.

It was a large wet room, which was suffering from poor maintenance, and really needed some TLC.

The TV reception were very poor, resulting in scratchy video (told the reception

No coffee or tea making facilities provided in the room

Breakfast was very poor and not good quality.

Minor grumble about the wifi connectivity - its quite poor and frequently dropped out,

However, we might not consider to visit Koh Lipe again due to the poor transportation experience.

One really annoying thing though, is that the wifi is really poor and unstable.

My main issue with Mali Resort is the poor service.

Lastly, Wifi was a problem on the whole Island in general - the resorts may be better off not advertising that they have wifi considering how poor it was.
