I surprised my husband with a stay at the grand for his birthday, I mentioned in the booking that it was his birthday and the lady on reception mentioned it and there was a card waiting for him.

I went to The Grand for my friend’s birthday.

We went  to celebrate a very special 90th Birthday,

It was my 50th birthday so a bit of a treat.

Stayed for 2 nights as a birthday treat for myself and it was a perfect visit!

My daughter and I spent three nights at the grand Brighton to celebrate her 18th birthday.

6 of us stayed for 3 nights to celebrate dads 90 birthday and mum and dads anniversary.

I booked to stay here for my partners 50th birthday.

Celebratory weekend in Brighton for a friends birthday.

We were celebrating a birthday with our 13 year old son, he didn’t even get a biscuit in the room as everything was focused on two people.

Went to The Grand for afternoon tea for mother in laws 88th birthday , we had a lovely time , excellent service and food was amazing , we had to take cakes home there was so many , love the cake trolley , thank you to all the staff , very memorable trip.

This made the handwritten note they left on the bed ‘Happy birthday and Anniversary!’ Seem like a sarcastic joke rather than any real effort to make our stay special.

but it was my husband's 60th birthday so we treated ourselves.

We wanted to celebrate my wife's big birthday in style, The Grand Hotel defiantly ticked all the boxes and more.

but as it was my birthday I had the joyous experience of being popped into a HUGE corner suite!

My husband and I took advantage of the midweek deal to stay at The Grand for my birthday as Brighton is my favourite place in the UK.

The mattresses were so comfortable and we slept really well.

Our room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable.

We opted for a “kings” suite and was not disappointed, everything you could wish for, large comfy bed, plenty of place in the rooms, which by the way were very clean.the service at this hotel is superb,you are made to feel very welcome.to sum up, a delightful stay and well worth the money.

I surprised my husband for a night away as a little pick me up after what his been through and, the hotel is massive and it's quite and the staff were amazing we stayed in a inland room with courtyard view the shower was amazing and the bed is very comfy, breakfast was very nice I will be staying there again very soon

The room (grand collection seaview double) was spotless, spacious & very elegant with super comfortable bed with a balcony overlooking the seafront (room 216).

It was surprisingly quiet at night and had a super comfy bed, if a tad short for my husband.

The service was good on a hot and very busy day, the rooms - initially 133 and then 632 are fresh, clean and beds comfortable.

The AC system was good and the bed was comfortable.

Very comfortable bed, lots of storage space in the room to unpack etc.

We stayed in one of the Suites on the 7th Floor, the suite was amazing, very clean, every amenity one would need, bed very comfortable.

Also, we asked for a cot for the baby and they charged an extra £10, which given the price of the hotel, seems quite unfair.

My only two complaints are that the wifi didn’t work and it cost us an extra £60 in data over the week, adding that amount onto the cost of the room.

I can get a Deliveroo Driver to for £4 to travel across Brighton collecting whatever we want for 70% of the hotels prices.

All ok f this is because you took another booking off my partners card, even after I paid for the reservation!!!!!

Where to start… Paid £479 (!) for 1 night stay on a Monday (!)

Chipped baths and broken furniture are not what I expect when you are paying this price.

but couldn’t justify the  extra price 
My only disappointment was buffet breakfast was very poor display choice and quality and next time would stay room  only as I would have expected better  standard considering the rest of the hotel which I love  that said I can’t wait to stay again !

but when checking out we were given a bill for £35 and upon checking bank statement the parking cost us $87 aud

We did have room service for lunch which costs £5 charge plus 12.5% service, outrageous!

For the premium charge you should be looking for 5/5 in all categories.

but due to lack of car parking it cost £33 at the local NCP for 24 hours.

but limited choice and the drinks were very expensive.

I understand that Brighton in August is peak period and expensive,

However, room was very clean and comfy just the appearance different to advertisement/ needed a bit of an update considering the price you pay

I ordered a bucket of ice to my room & was charged £8 room service fee, won't do that again!

Noisy wedding (on a sunday) no warning as to this.

Whilst we expected road noise the singing from some of the performers at the open air booth near the Music Hall was quite intrusive and far from relaxing.

I understand that a crying child is a difficult noise to address at a hotel,

but nothing great: beds are comfy but bathroom is very tired , amenities a bit basic and the noise from a party within the hotel was loud and went on past midnight.

but if this is the case then they should provide some type of noise control.

Room was noisy as air conditioning could be heard thru a closed window.

There was lots of noise from fighting drunks at 2am

However our room at the back had constant beeping from outside all night - then very noisy building site in the morning.

It was a hot few days and the room aircon was at the max which made it noisy.

Due to the lack of proper windows (they have only wooden-framed, single-glazed sash windows) it's impossible to keep the noise and vibration at bay.

When you are in a bathroom you can hear everything what is going on in the corridor,

Such a shame that the experience was marred by a terrible nights sleep as the room we had was an inland room where you can hear the constant loud drone of what sounds like large fans!

Chairs on each landing need to be reupholstered and breakfast area needs more of a selection and staff.

There was many other people complaining regarding the noise.

I assume the floorboards are connected which meant any time either of us got out of bed the other room was aware of it.

but one of the windows vibrates, it was a noisy night and I gave up trying to sleep before 6.

Only negative was the shower - a slightly painful over the bath jet with an old fashioned shower curtain to attack you!

though because it's in the centre of things it is noisy at night.

The noise when people walked on the loose floorboards on the corridor outside was easy to hear.

but the party goers across the road can bet noisy,

The rooms overlooking the sea so lovely and afternoon tea and dinner is delicious

We stayed in a sea view room and enjoyed waking up to the sight of the sea.

We were in an ocean view room with balcony.

I think you need to book a sea view room to get the most out of your stay and hope you get allocated a room with a balcony, which is a lovely place to sit and watch.

We stayed in room 224 which has great views over the sea and a balcony.

Amazing 4 nights, gorgeous sea view room, sumptuous breakfasts and super friendly staff.

We had a room over looking the sea, as as it was especially hot in August, lovely to see so many people enjoying Brighton!

We had a classic sea view room, which was reasonably comfortable, with a safe and refrigerator.

I usually stay in a Grand Collection sea view room (as they all have balconies)

We splashed out on a sea view room with balcony, which was super.

We stayed in a deluxe sea view room that lived up to expectations.

We always stay in a sea view room and love the views of the water and skyline.

Gorgeous sea view room and terrific breakfast - yet horrified for my room service dinner they charged for the expected tray service AND service was added for both soft/alcoholic AND dinner!

It  simply makes no sense to book a standard non-sea view room unless you get a really good deal.

All the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and the guys on concierge are the best in the business.

I genuinely cannot fault our stay at the Grand.

Reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and the breakfast options were plentiful.

Welcoming staff, super clean, beautiful large appointed rooms with all the amenities you could need Iron/board/hair dryer/robes/slippers/fridge/bath products.

Only amazing part was the decor and the concierge outside.

but some staff are great and others are awful.

The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff and friendly and helpful, the location is perfect and very central and finally the breakfast was fantastic, so much variety and great quality food.

The staff were so polite and attentive and there was everything you could think of provided for breakfast.

Breakfast was excellent staff attentive and cherry.

The staff were really friendly, check-in was a breeze, and the interior of the hotel is just as you'd expect from The 'Grand'.

Beautiful location, the weather was unexpectedly very kind the staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

My response was the waiting time, the reply I got was 'we are shortstaffed'!!

Over the years we have visited this hotel many times and we have always been impressed by the level of service given and the appearance of the staff.

We were impressed by the level of service at the Victoria Lounge, and enjoyed greatly the quality of food and personalised service at the Cyan Restaurant.

The room was really comfortable and the level of hygiene across the hotel was exceptional.

Pros:

All staff were great and gave the level of service we would have expected from The Grand.

From the moment we arrived the level of service from all staff we encountered was exceptional.

The level of service was exemplary and we were immediately delighted.

The room was clean and nicely furnished, the bathroom was built to a budget and I was surprised that the level of finish was not higher.

but the single   rooms are shabby with huge clunky oversized furniture and no view as windows covered in film.

Our 6th floor room needed some renovation to bathroom (panel and window slightly rotten) and window ledges were dirty and growing weeds.

but be aware if you have a balcony or sea view high season there is a open top pub directly across the road and the music is very very loud so you cannot open the windows.

We reported the curtains three times as the hooks were missing and they would not keep our the light.

Our windows were overlooking the internal 5 storey walls, could not see the sky, daylight meant dusk for us.

but our only issue was both the windows were frosted, so we couldn't see out!

The depth of the huge public rooms mean that the restaurants are dark unless you are right by the window.

Rooms at the Grand are a bit hit or miss, the one we had this year had some surfaces that seemed a bit worn, the curtains were stained in the strangest of places and the bathroom,

but better windows might have helped, and there was also a lack of soundproofing from the room above mine.

Not wanting to have a weekend completely spoiled, we accepted and then went out to explore, leaving the air conditioning on to cool the room (as it was one of the hottest days of the year and the room had lots of windows).

The building next to the hotel is a building site so you need to keep your curtains closed to stop the builders looking in.

View of a concrete wall and pipe work from bedroom window so room dark and oppressive, no mobile phone reception in my room, WiFi intermittent, some free view channels missing from TV and a shower curtain rather than glass screen.

The pitiful view from my window (see below) was bearable, my friends on another floor were

but the bathroom was tired and the windows dirty.

Moved into an extremely hot room where windows wouldn't open,

Windows in the room did not insulate from outside noise and wind.

Is quirky & eclectic and the staff were friendly, welcoming and very attentive.

The location is perfect if you are seeing a concert at the Brighton Centre nearby and the ambiance/vibe  of the hotel adds to a music themed getaways  This Gen-Ex mother appreciated the Lord Vader Room while my Gen Z daughter loved the eclectic decorating of the hotel.

Beyond the room itself, the hotel is quirky, fun and instantly felt like a home from home for us people who don’t do the ‘grey & white minimal’ look.

The hotel is very quirky and different to your normal boring hotels.

The hotel is very quirky (why I booked it), and I stayed in the Tropical Paradise room, which was awesome.

The accommodation and hotel decor is simply outstanding - it was like being in a different world and I am sooo looking forward to my next visit (loved the curly wurly choccie in the room too).

The staff were friendly and welcoming and the attention to detail in the hotel decor is amazing.

The whole hotel is really well decorated, quirky and such fun.

My partner and I won a free nights stay at this gloriously quirky hotel.

Great boutique style hotel fabulous location and great attentive staff .

but it adds to the whole experience of this unique and quirky hotel and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The hotel is very unique, the style throughout the property is fantastic.

This is a quirky hotel with so much to look at and is really close to the sea and the town.

A Superb  Quirky Hotel with a variety of Themed rooms in a Great Location just up from the seafront, Very Friendly Staff, Excellent Breakfast will Definitely  be going back soon.

We booked the Pin Up Parlour which is Diana Dors themed, the room was very elegant and spacious.

I stayed in the Pin Up Parlour, which is dedicated to Diana Dors and is beyond glamorous and dramatically kitsch.

Second time staying at Hotel Pelirocco, the first time we stayed in the “Pin up Parlour” which we LOVED and this time we booked “DollyWould” and “The Lovers Lair” for my 35th birthday.

The location is brilliant, in a beautiful old square right on the seafront, and the Pin Up Parlour room (inspired by Diana Dors) was spacious, kooky, comfortable and offered a great view of the sea from the chaise longue!

We stayed in the Pin Up Parlour which was amazing and hope to return to a balcony room, perhaps Betty’s Boudoir.

Visited for our 10th wedding anniversary and stayed like before in the pin up parlour room.

We stayed at the Pelirocco for two nights - one in the GB Room and one in the Pin up Parlour. The rooms were fantastic (especially the Pin up Parlour which was brilliant!)

My girlfriend and I booked the Pin-Up Parlour room back in March 2018 as an anniversary treat, and stayed there in September 2018.

We were in Pin Up Parlour room which was fab.

We've tried Dollywood, Pin up Parlour, Soul Supreme and a room at the very top.

I stayed in the Pin Up Parlour which was a decadent dream come true, with a sea view visible from the chaise lounge!

but still bothered me at breakfast as they were being a bit noisy.

Only small issues was the temperature of the room, slightly too warm, we kept the windows open so we were disturbed by outside noises.

The only ‘negative’ would be that another guest was very noisy until very late at night/early in the morning and the room wasn’t soundproof so it did impact my ability to sleep.

Only downside (and this is NOT the hotels fault) is that there is scaffolding next door which has loose plastic on it, so when it's windy it could keep you awake.

Given that the building is very old, there's no sound proofing lol.

We slept brilliantly and had no trouble with late night noise from the bar, probably because we didn’t leave the bar until 2:30!

The hotel is just a constant reminder of life through music and different genre, brilliant just wanted to read and look at every Picture!

A few others have also commented that the room was cold and noisy.

Whilst the hotel itself and guests were very respectful and not noisy at all, you can hear some road noise etc due to being so close to the beach.

But the location is quiet if the walls aren't

Could hear the room opposite in the night earplugs might be good.

Also the people upstairs had creaky floor boards which woke us up earlier than we’d have liked.

couldnt sleep as not used to a single bed and it was so hot- couldnt have window open as the many takeaways at the back had noisy extractor going all night.

Sleep-wise, the only noise we experienced was the wind against the windows, which sounded a bit like somebody was knocking on the door.

Room not double glazed so a bit of noise as you'd expect in centre of a city.

but it's worth knowing that if you want a completely silent night you may want to book another room which isn't above the bar.

It was also very annoying that the plumbing in the hotel means that if anyone else runs a bath or flushes the toilet, you can hear all the water in the pipes. .

My only one negative was the creaky floorboard and we could hear the person above whenever they moved

Small shower room with minuscule wash basin.

The bathroom was fairly compact and the sink was a bit small

I would have taken off a point for the small bathroom

Also, the bathroom was very small, the toilet was crammed between a wall and the bathtub.

It is an attic room,so if you were 6ft+ you might struggle and cosy, small bathroom, so if you were large you might find it a bit of a squeeze!

Friends in Bowery room had a terrible mattress and the bathroom is so small you can’t stand up in it.

The bathroom was very small as the shower was huge which didn't really need to be.

The only drawback of this room compared to some of the others was that the bathroom is very small (the room itself is generously sized) and the shower is quite a squeeze, and the mattress is rather poor.

The room is tiny and the bathroom is so small that the sink is actually in the bedroom.

(shower was little small though, might not suit large guests, also stairs was a bit narrow too.)

If you're looking for a luxurious spa break this hotel probably isn't for you (the bathroom was quite small and some of the fixtures could do with a tidy round)

The bathroom, particularly in comparison to the room itself, was disappointingly small and the shower wasn’t the best.

Everyone we spoke to was lovely helping out with booking rooms when the train strikes were announced.

Great little hotel, lovely staff funky themed room and well stocked bar with good music and seating  very nice cooked breakfast 
Well worth a visit .

From room and bath to food and staff - fun and laughing.

I'll start with the good things: first of all the staff.

Very friendly staff and accommodating with a very late check in and then upgraded my room for me to the David Bowie room - it had a hot tub, vinyl record player and the cadburys fudge was a nice throw back too.

Lovely room (Betty's Boudoir), great fun and really friendly staff.

It's a truly unique place with a great location, a super friendly team and the best breakfasts we've ever had.

Staying at the Peliroco for a few days and have to say WOW what an awesome place with lots of character and quirkiness, all the staff are just fab and so friendly they cant do enough for you, breakfast is great and super tasty so defo worth having, we are in the Dollywould room with lovely sea views, thanks guys for making our stay just FAB and glad we found you and will 1000% be back soon!! !

The reception staff were lovely and this always makes a difference to a hotel stay.

We were greeted by such a friendly woman where we were immediately made to feel like nothing was too much bother for them.

What made the visit extra special were the staff who are all friendly and obliging ,nothing is too much trouble.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, comfortable and brilliantly themed, and the breakfasts are fantastic, with the breakfast area doubling up as a cosy bar with a great selection of drinks.
