We have just returned from a lovely weekend in Bath staying at the fabulous Dukes hotel.

The hotel is only approx a 7 minute walk from the centre of Bath, which is ideal.

I would stay here again if I was ever to come back to Bath.

We stayed for 5 nights in this really nice accommodation in Bath.

Dukes is the perfect place to stay in Bath as it is located just a minute's walk from the centre of the city.

The en suite was a good size with a large shower cabinet.

The bath was big and deep and perfect after a long day!

We had booked an extra 4 days in Bath and were lucky enough to find this truly lovely hotel We arrived very early and were greeted so warmly,  We dropped our luggage went out for a walk and returned to have our beautiful room ready with luggage in it.

If staying for more than one night, there should be an expectation that your room would be serviced with all room amenities (
replenished etc as opposed to being asked on check-in if you want this provided in the first place.

Our choice - Wellington- had a stunning view over the street, large bedroom, useful ante-room and large bathroom with  bath and good, powerful over-bath shower.

I will definitely stay at Duke’s when I return to Bath.

The shower is tricky and you can’t help

The beds were the most comfortable of our stay, as were the shower and bath tub.

The bathroom was particularly large and reasonably modern.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Bath then this is the place to stay.

The whole building is beautiful and everyone we spoke to was so friendly and helpful, giving good advice of places around Bath to see and to eat.

Dukes Bath is in a brilliant location for exploring Bath.

The location is perfect to explore Bath and we strongly recommend this hotel.

We would recommend very highly and we will certainly choose Dukes for our next visit to Bath.

We didn’t have the breakfast as we were meeting friends in the centre of Bath

I was a bit concerned because it was the start of the heat wave in England and our rooms were on upper floors (no lift by the way).

There is no lift - not permitted in the classic Georgian houses which constitute the hotel.

The only other thing to mention is that there are no lifts (which is clearly stated on the website)

One point to note - there is no lift, so those with ailing knees may wish to request a room on the lower floors.

Only downside is lack of lift and next time we’ll bring two small suitcases instead of one large one!

Note due to the nature of the building there is no lift and also whilst the hotel issues a resident parking place they can be tricky to find.

Tip: If your not the most mobile request a ground floor room as there's no lift.

Nothing was too much trouble for her, she advised us of the available parking permit, the 6 flights of stairs to our 3rd floor room( no lift because the building is listed) or the option to swap to a lower floor and when I asked for help even recommend and booked our evening restaurant, all before we had arrived!

Mind you the actual building is an architectural masterpiece - therefore N lifts to the upper floors.

As an older building it has no elevator, and it is a considerable climb to the top of the building.

We stayed in the Grafton room which is at the side of the property on the second floor (no lift).

but we highly respect the fact that the building is listed and they cannot put any elevator and we were inform by that during booking.

I didn't mind the lack of a lift, nor the lack of wifi on the top floor, nor the price, for the sheer beauty of this place.

There is no elevator and the staff ran our bags up the stairs while we parked our car.

One thing to be aware of is the snug rooms are up 6 flights of stairs.

We had to  set off early for a balloon flight, so a snack breakfast was brought to our room the previous evening.

but as the breakfast is served in the basement then I'm not sure how you'd get down the flight of stairs and there are also a couple of steps to get into the hotel from the street.

Our room was on the 2nd floor up 4 flights of stairs.

I stayed in the Grafton room which was up four flights of stairs.

Our room was on the top floor - so 3 flights of stairs with large bags was a little physically challenging

It was up several flights of stairs, which wasn't a problem for us

I still had 1 flight of stairs down and then up again to access breakfast,

The breakfast room is down 1 flight of stairs.

but four flights of narrow steep stairs were a bit much for us, so if you have any difficulty with climbing stairs you might want to ask for a room on a lower floor.

so if you need to avoid many flights of stairs ask for lower level rooms.

After a long flight from Australia we could not have happened upon better lodgings in Bath and we were delighted with our choice of  The Dukes Hotel.

but each flight is only half a floor so it's really the third floor or something like that.

The only downside is that as a listed building they cannot install a lift so if you struggle with stairs there are about four to get to reception and you have to go down a flight for breakfast

but there are bedrooms on ground floor - breakfast walk down one flight of steps to basement so if you are not very mobile this might be an issue but otherwise perfect.

As we were only staying the one night we had to stay at the top of the building up 6 flights of stairs.

The only negatives were carrying luggage up and down 3 or 4 flights of stairs and the noise between rooms and from the street.

It was indeed a long climb up, and perhaps if I'd truly appreciated steep nature of the six flights, I would have booked a different place to stay.

The reception staff are friendly, pleasant and very helpful.

Delicious breakfasts, reasonably priced, friendly and helpful staff, quiet, spacious rooms.

The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly making it a real pleasure to visit the breakfast room each morning or to have a pre-dinner drink in the attractive rear garden.

Beautiful building, perfect rooms and friendly staff.

The staff at Dukes were all really lovely, so polite, friendly and helpful - we had a truly great stay and would definitely recommend Dukes to anyone planning to visit Bath!

Right from the time we arrived, until we left, I have never met such a friendly committed group of staff.

The man on reception later on was equally as friendly and kind!

The staff were so friendly and helpful, from carrying bags to helping us find the sights in the limited time we were staying (they gleefully abstained from mocking our Bridgerton lust and directed us to some points of interest in that regard).

The breakfast was also first class with wonderful friendly service.

The staff are so welcoming  and friendly and cannot do enough for their guests.

A very warm and friendly welcome greeted us on arrival.

Make sure you take the time to do the walking tour which starts outside the Abby - best 2.5hrs spent since the walking tour of Oxford.

When we left for Oxford, Carol gave us wonderful suggestions on little towns to see on the way.

With the parking permits they provide for Great Pulteney Street, you couldn't ask for a better location.

A parking permit is provided which meant just a short walk into the city centre.

Parking was available on street with the included parking permit, and an area was available to unload/load luggage just in front of the hotel.

Fabulous hotel, well positioned with the bonus of a parking permit.

We could park on the street using the hotel's parking permit.

The location of the hotel is ideal to discover the fine City of Bath with the added bonus of a parking permit for each room to allow you free parking for the length of your stay, there was always a space available nearby.

Parking permits are available with a laminated pass for the windscreen for the duration of your stay just pick a spot highlighted on a street map and all sorted there is no charge .All in all a wonderful Hotel

Dukes is in a fantastic location and the parking permits are a real bonus because we could park the car for the stay pretty much outside the hotel and then we didn't use the car when we were there as Bath is a very small place.

We also asked for parking - they give you a permit for FREE which can be used in that local "zone" at all times of day & night which is perfect.

The staff were very helpful and the parking permit very necessary in what is normally a very busy city, and very welcome in not so busy Covid hit town.

The position in central Bath is ideal and the parking permit a great boon.

With the added bonus of parking permits and a short level walk into the heart of the city, everything is positive about this well run family hotel.

The parking permit was most welcome and we were able to park just outside the hotel.

Car park permit given free on arrival so you can find a space in the nearby streets, which are all residential.

We received a car pass permit when we arrived and easily found space to park near the hotel.

You will be given a parking permit to park on the local roads, which was great, we managed to get parked just round the corner.

We were fortunate to get a parking space in William Street,  a short walk from the hotel, and they provided us with a parking permit for the duration of our stay.

Luckily I managed to find a parking spot on Edward street very quickly so parking wasn’t an issue (and even when I handed the permit back to the hotel on Sunday, we could still enjoy a day in bath and leave my car in the same spot, no parking restrictions on a Sunday) 

We stayed in the Devonshire room which was really lovely.

It is altogether an excellent hotel, with an added bonus that they offer guests a parking permit for the hotel’s locality.

We arrived to a warm welcome, a free parking permit (worth its weight in gold) and a beautiful room overlooking the historic Great Pulteney Street.

And the location was perfect- just 2 blocks from the crowds at Pulteney Bridge

for me this IS the palce to stay in Bath right next to Pulteney Bridge and so on top of ALL the main places to see or visit whilst feeling like you are out of the way from the hustle and bustle of city life!

But this is Bath, in a historic location, five minutes from the centre of the city, on a beautiful street, and with the prospect of walking over Pulteney Bridge as your commute.

It’s in a great, quiet location really close to the city centre - 5 minutes from the Pulteney Bridge.

The hotel is located about three minutes walk from Pulteney Bridge and  about 6 minutes from Bath Abbey.

There are good restaurants close to the hotel and the Pulteney Bridge is a stone’s throw down the road with charming photo opportunities.

All the major attractions are walking distance from the hotel:  The Abbey, Roman Baths, Thermal Bath Spa, Pulteney Bridge, and many shopping options.

Easy walking distance to The Pulteney Arms, a local pub that is not touristy at all, and plenty of restaurants near the Pulteney Bridge on either side.

The situation of the hotel is also perfect, being a level five minutes walk to Pulteney Bridge, down the beautiful Great Pulteney Street and only a few minutes more to the centre of town.

You will not find a much better location right in the heart of the lovely Great Pulteney Street, close to the very pretty Pulteney bridge and lovely river crossing.

Situated where it is, it's nice and quiet, yet only a gentle 5min walk into the city centre, and you get to cross the Pulteney Bridge on the way!

The location is fabulous, a 3 min walk from Pulteney Bridge, so really close to the action

Fantastic location between Pulteney Bridge & the Holbourne Museum.

It is only a short walk to the city across the Pulteney Bridge and there are plenty of local restaurants and cafes.

The hotel is located on the lovely Great Pulteney street and it was a very short walk (5 to 10 mins) up the road to all of the major Bath sites including Bath Abbey, Roman Baths, Markets, Pulteney Bridge etc.

It's a beautiful building in a fantastic location, right by Pulteney Bridge.

The hotel is located more or less equidistant between Sydney Gardens and Pulteney Bridge, about 20 minutes walk from the train station.

A beautiful Georgian townhouse, just steps from the Great Pulteney Bridge, and the Baths.

I made a couple of requests in the booking which the team promptly responding to.

Thanks again to Mr and Mrs Cameron and the entire staff for always being truly remarkable.

We booked 2 rooms for a wedding weekend and couldn’t have been happier with the hotel and the staff.

Carol could not have been nicer and more helpful.

The reception staff were very welcoming and professional, in fact they all were.

Excellent stay and good all round, room very comfortable, staff very informative and caring, breakfast very good.Helpful in planning our walking trip and have us a map well marked to help.Very good service, comfortable and spacious bar and restaurant.

We changed the booking date at short notice and they couldn’t have been more accommodating.

From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave the staff can't do enough for you.

We had a lovely stay at this charming hotel with its wonderful staff.

Carol and her exceptional team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and their attention to detail is impeccable.

Be aware of this if you have trouble getting up stairs and ask for a room on a lower floor.

If you are not comfortable with stairs, this is not the place for you.

There are plenty of stairs to most of the rooms, and no lift,

We had one of the smaller rooms at the top of the hotel and had been warned in advance of the stairs and the size of the room

The hotel is old school, so you do have to walk up stairs to your room, which does not have AC,

We quailed at the prospect of carrying our 4 bags (more than one over 40 pounds) up those stairs.

Even before we had arrived, this 'Posh B&B' had gone the extra mile to accommodate us by helping avoid a room with stairs.

Note:  Most rooms require long stair climbs

if you're not good with climbing stairs, make sure to check there is a room available on a lower floor).

So we could hear people walking about above, using the stairs and the traffic outside.

The magnificent 18th century building is perfectly positioned in a quiet spot in Great Pulteney Street and just a few hundred yards pleasant stroll through this wonderful street to the city centre.

The location on the very elegant Great Pulteney street is perfect, a lovely short stroll to the center of everything.

but also quite a quiet street adjacent to the city centre.

My suite was large and very comfortable with windows overlooking Great Pulteney Street.

While not in the middle of the action, it is very conveniently located on an elegant and historic street.

The location is only a very short walk to the main shopping centre and you are able to park on the surrounding streets with a "pass" from the hotel - essential in Bath.

Our entire room was extremely clean and had a lovely view of the street.

The room was so comfortable - great mattress and pillows - and overlooked the beautiful street.

An extremely elegant and comfortable small hotel situated on a beautiful quiet residential street in the middle of Bath.

So near to the centre of Bath yet situated in one of the most beautiful streets - Great Pulteney St. 
Next time we visit Bath we will definitely stay here.

on one of the most famous streets in Bath in a wonderful area, just 5 minutes walk over the river to the centre of Bath and all the fantastic amenities this city has to offer such as shops, restaurants and bars.

The Georgian building is on one of Bath’s famously handsome streets, within easy walking distance of the city’s famous sites, yet it is also very quiet.

Dukes setting is ideal, it is situated in the most stunning street of Bath, it’s almost like stepping back to Georgian England.

Dukes is an elegant home from home in the majestic Great Pulteney Street in Bath.

We chose the Marlborough Room, spacious well appointed great bed, beautiful character, nice little extra touches.

We also met Carol who was present at breakfast and check out, a lovely personal touch.

And on check out, payment was simple and we even got given a little bag of mixed sweets for our onward journey, another great touch.

The Dukes is a friendly, well located, clean, comfortable hotel with a touch of luxury, My daughter and I stayed in the Wellington suite for two nights, on the third floor facing quite a busy road.

The little bag of sweets given on check out was a lovely touch.

Fabulous hotel can not fault the location the staff are all friendly we had a lively geeeting from Nicky each time she saw us and the owner Carole is present at breakfast and chats to all guests which is a  nice friendly touch 
We  just had the most fabulous breakfast with perfect poached eggs quality produce on the plate and my partner loved the scottish oats with touch of brown sugar and whiskey so much he had it on both mornings!

Extremely friendly and helpful with a really personal touch.

We enjoyed the personal touch this Hotel has, and would like to return at some point in the future.

The madeleines at the end of the meal a lovely touch.

All in all this place gets a massive 5/5 from us, the little touches go a very long way and I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

There were lovely little touches such as home baked mince pies and shortbread available for guests in reception and the bar.

although it was redeemed by tasty homemade touches like the almond bites and fresh madeleines.

It's those kinds of touches that make guests feel especially comfortable.

shower good .breakfast was one of the nicest I've ever had .if in Bath again we would definitely stay again .I would give Dukes 10 out of 10 so many nice touches .I could go on

It's the staff and the little personal touches (fresh baked madeleine cakes at breakfast, little eggs on Easter Sunday, sweets for onward journey) that really makes this hotel stand out.

The breakfast was excellent, with the Cream Eggs underneath knitted chicks for Easter a cute touch.

Every minute detail is thought of - even down to giving our son a birthday present which was such a lovely touch.

Lots of thoughtful little touches and loved all the tasteful pictures & paintings in the room & around the rest of the hotel.

The breakfast has a Great selection and homemade madeleines which was a lovely touch.

Conveniently located right by Graceland and not far from Beale Street.

Walking distance to Graceland, Beale Street, downtown touring was great, great food, lot of shops, it was a great experience, I will return again,

We went to Beale street, the zoo and Bass at the pyramid all which are a good 15 minutes or more from this hotel.

Great place to be to see Graceland, Beale Street, The Peabody and all of the other sites to see in Memphis.

We got to visit Graceland, took a tour to Beale Street, and a Riverboat Cruise down the Mississippi River.

Would have appreciated transportation to tourist attractions in Memphis [Beale Street, blues music and civil rights museum.Room was well appointed and spacious

Close to all Memphis attractions, Beale Street, Graceland, Sun Studios, Slave Haven, and mid town where you can find tons of cultural and culinary experiences.

Very close for Graceland and only 15 mins from Beale St.

From here, you can also get to Beale Street very quickly by car and take a look around the city.

Beale Str, Civil Rights Museum and Sun Studio’s are all within 10-20 minutes drive.

And it’s a couple minutes drive to Beale street.

We liked that they offered a shuttle to Beale street.

Great location to everything for Elvis fans and shuttle buses to Beale street if you want to walk 10 feet of Beale.

The hotel offers free transport into and back from Beale Street in Memphis centre; this is an excellent service.

Easy to get to Sun Studios   Beale Street and Martin Luther King sites.

The lady who drove the shuttle to Beale Street was very nice and even told us about Memphis.

We also recommend a visit to Beale St., the Peabody Hotel (duck march) and Central BBQ (midtown).

Downtown Memphis Beale Street was a nice outing too and the steamboat ride was an added plus

You’re footsteps from Graceland and a 12 minute drive to Beale Street.

Its minutes from Graceland House, shuttle bus to Beale street to be honest just an all round lovely experience especially for Elvis fans!

Who came and told me that they could not give me a report as I told them I would need one in case the rental company wanted to charge me for smoking in the vehicle.

My only complaint, for all hotels that do, is charging for parking!

They added fees to my package also charged for parking I was highly disappointed with this lova

Nothing hotel can do about that apart from informing their guests as most people will be travellers like myself and will not know how the taxes work or what all 3 charges are, so would suggest informing guests.

If there is any downside to it is that no matter what time you arrive you are charged for a full day, we arrived at 2:30 in the morning and there is no pro-rating for the time the room is empty, and there should be live muisc every night you are there as a guest.

We also heard reports that customers got charged extra for breakfast drinks (which I can't quite believe)

2) Very ordinary quality of food

3) Their cafe / sandwich shop, which is a Starbucks, was run by a bunch of staff that could barely understand English and could be quite rude.
