We stayed at Hotel Pelirocco for 4 nights over the August bank holiday.From the moment we arrived through the door we were treated like long lost family…everyone so warm, friendly…oozing charm and hospitality.

The themed touches in the decor were amazing.

The rooms are gorgeously decorated, the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfasts are delicious.

Great artwork adorns the walls of the hotel which give the hotel a party atmosphere.Altogether a great experience.

Like the rest of the hotel, the breakfast room/bar was fantastically decorated.

Room was pristine and well set up with Mod memorabilia, the highlight of which was the rear end of a Vespa "entering" the wall one side of the bed, with the front end exiting the wall on the other side.

So many interesting and quirky bits throughout.

The location is perfect if you are seeing a concert at the Brighton Centre nearby and the ambiance/vibe  of the hotel adds to a music themed getaways  This Gen-Ex mother appreciated the Lord Vader Room while my Gen Z daughter loved the eclectic decorating of the hotel.

Beyond the room itself, the hotel is quirky, fun and instantly felt like a home from home for us people who don’t do the ‘grey & white minimal’ look.

but it adds to the whole experience of this unique and quirky hotel and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We booked the Pin Up Parlour which is Diana Dors themed, the room was very elegant and spacious.

I stayed in the Pin Up Parlour, which is dedicated to Diana Dors and is beyond glamorous and dramatically kitsch.

Second time staying at Hotel Pelirocco, the first time we stayed in the “Pin up Parlour” which we LOVED and this time we booked “DollyWould” and “The Lovers Lair” for my 35th birthday.

The location is brilliant, in a beautiful old square right on the seafront, and the Pin Up Parlour room (inspired by Diana Dors) was spacious, kooky, comfortable and offered a great view of the sea from the chaise longue!

We stayed in the Pin Up Parlour which was amazing and hope to return to a balcony room, perhaps Betty’s Boudoir.

Visited for our 10th wedding anniversary and stayed like before in the pin up parlour room.

We stayed at the Pelirocco for two nights - one in the GB Room and one in the Pin up Parlour. The rooms were fantastic (especially the Pin up Parlour which was brilliant!)

My girlfriend and I booked the Pin-Up Parlour room back in March 2018 as an anniversary treat, and stayed there in September 2018.

We were in Pin Up Parlour room which was fab.

We've tried Dollywood, Pin up Parlour, Soul Supreme and a room at the very top.

I stayed in the Pin Up Parlour which was a decadent dream come true, with a sea view visible from the chaise lounge!

but still bothered me at breakfast as they were being a bit noisy.

Only small issues was the temperature of the room, slightly too warm, we kept the windows open so we were disturbed by outside noises.

The only ‘negative’ would be that another guest was very noisy until very late at night/early in the morning and the room wasn’t soundproof so it did impact my ability to sleep.

Only downside (and this is NOT the hotels fault) is that there is scaffolding next door which has loose plastic on it, so when it's windy it could keep you awake.

Given that the building is very old, there's no sound proofing lol.

We slept brilliantly and had no trouble with late night noise from the bar, probably because we didn’t leave the bar until 2:30!

The hotel is just a constant reminder of life through music and different genre, brilliant just wanted to read and look at every Picture!

A few others have also commented that the room was cold and noisy.

Whilst the hotel itself and guests were very respectful and not noisy at all, you can hear some road noise etc due to being so close to the beach.

But the location is quiet if the walls aren't

Could hear the room opposite in the night earplugs might be good.

Also the people upstairs had creaky floor boards which woke us up earlier than we’d have liked.

couldnt sleep as not used to a single bed and it was so hot- couldnt have window open as the many takeaways at the back had noisy extractor going all night.

Sleep-wise, the only noise we experienced was the wind against the windows, which sounded a bit like somebody was knocking on the door.

Room not double glazed so a bit of noise as you'd expect in centre of a city.

but it's worth knowing that if you want a completely silent night you may want to book another room which isn't above the bar.

It was also very annoying that the plumbing in the hotel means that if anyone else runs a bath or flushes the toilet, you can hear all the water in the pipes. .

My only one negative was the creaky floorboard and we could hear the person above whenever they moved

The bathroom was fairly compact and the sink was a bit small

Also, the bathroom was very small, the toilet was crammed between a wall and the bathtub.

It is an attic room,so if you were 6ft+ you might struggle and cosy, small bathroom, so if you were large you might find it a bit of a squeeze!

Friends in Bowery room had a terrible mattress and the bathroom is so small you can’t stand up in it.

The bathroom was very small as the shower was huge which didn't really need to be.

The only drawback of this room compared to some of the others was that the bathroom is very small (the room itself is generously sized) and the shower is quite a squeeze, and the mattress is rather poor.

The room is tiny and the bathroom is so small that the sink is actually in the bedroom.

(shower was little small though, might not suit large guests, also stairs was a bit narrow too.)

If you're looking for a luxurious spa break this hotel probably isn't for you (the bathroom was quite small and some of the fixtures could do with a tidy round)

It's not just the rooms, they are awesome, it's the level of customer engagement that comes with it.

This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed at this wonderful and quirky hotel and as usual, I was blown away by the level of service, friendly staff and cleanliness of the room and communal areas.

Really enjoyed the level of attention to detail that was applied to putting the Darth Vader room together.

Overall style and decor felt totally authentic and unique, breakfasts were good, and service was great, without being stuffy.

This hotel is unique and you wont be disappointed.

The bathroom in my recent room wasn't very well maintained.

The mirrors for the sink are to your left and right, not straight in front of your face.

Also the condition of the room -  the stains on the carpet, the sink, etc make us feel like we are staying at travel lodge or even worse.

It didn't serve a purpose and a mirror in that position would have been more useful.

Two problems… one is the ‘open’ style of the room means that there is zero privacy as whoever is in the room can see straight into the shower or toilet (at least that has slightly frosted glass).

A shower that is visible to the building opposite.

I would say girls you should take a handheld mirror.

however are clean if not very very basic and the shower was very good.

We wanted to stay close to the Theatre Royal so my disabled daughter wouldn't have far to walk after the show; it had to have a wet room type bathroom, and be close to restaurants.

The room bathroom was clean - did not like the clear door on the toilet and shower or the hole in the wall straight through to the bedroom - this would not work if you were not comfortable with your room mate.

The height of the smaller mirror in the bedroom also needs to be addressed.

Some people may be a bit fazed by the frosted glass doors on shower and loo,

To dry my hair in front of a mirror meant I had to do it about 10ft away as the other socket wasn't working!

Also if you’re going on your first weekend away with a new partner the open shower/toilet area might not be for you!!

Perfect central location which really couldn’t be better. There is a Tesco opposite, great coffee shop on the bottom floor, and great restaurants and takeaways super close (I would recommend Pom Poko!)

The location is perfect for The Lanes, and the beach, and the coffee shop in the foyer, small batch served really lovely coffee.

Great location and there is a Tesco express opposite as well as small batch coffee shop next door which is fab.

Lots of restaurants nearby, Chilli Pickle attached to the hotel was amazing and the coffee shop on site was very good, both with vegan options.

If you book directly with the hotel you get some benefits such as £10 free goods from the mini bar and a 15% discount from the coffee shop downstairs.

Funky stay during the bank holiday long weekend!

Budget room with photogenic design that fooled me.

Meaning if a person has to use the washroom @ 2:00 am everyone is waken with bright lights.

The rooms were spacious, bright and clean.

The place is decorated very loudly shall we say .

Although fittings are a bit worn and clunky in bedrooms, My Brighton is too easy, reasonably priced and friendly not to recommend.

The room itself was very fun with both it's design and make up.

The bed was comfortable - and sheets were pristine.

The room was probably seen as quite trendy 15 years ago

The rooms have a unique decor with different themes throughout.

The room was very quirky and loved the light in there too.

Although there was a bit of a mix up over parking the member of reception staff who looked after me sorted it was fantastic and I would like to thank you

The hotel is very funky and in a fabulous location bang in the centre of town and the lanes.

On first impressions the hotel was really nice and funky.

You may as well have a them email the door code and pay online then you would not have to go through the painful experience of dealing with people that seem to have no practical use to the hotel stay.

The toilet door is forest glass and is a swing door so again it doesn’t have a latch.

the need to put a ten digit code in the lift and the room door instead of a simple key or card was highly annoying for three days.

There was no door for the bathroom and just a glass door for the toilet so little to no privacy, thankfully I was with my partner.

Bottles being collected from the pub next door, delivery vans to the Tesco opposite/pub next door, street cleaning .. just general noise.

Could smell sick as soon as we opened the door, to then realise there was still residue on the side of the bed into the carpet.

There is no bathroom door and the toilet has only an opaque plastic screen which provides neither privacy nor soundproofing!

but the main issue was the bed which was very small if you are tall or on the larger size you will struggle, I also found the open plan bathroom bizarre with a glass panel as a door on the toilet lacking any privacy, if you are planning a romantic weekend away I suggest you book somewhere else as everything can be seen and heard!

A Glass (lightly obscured) toilet door was actually the view from my side of the bed -see photos.

However, we then discovered the see through toilet door with open top and bottom.

There was a phrase on the shower door which had been partially removed - whether by the hotel or guest I don’t know,

You get discounts at NCP and RCP car parks, the small coffee batch next door and and the Chilli Pickle.

The only problem is the Indian restaurant  next door ( Chilli Pickle) very over priced, tasteless and dreadful service.

One final comment - if you're staying as a couple you have to be very 'comfortable' with each other, as the open-plan nature of the bathroom (despite having a frosted glass door to the toilet) means nothing is left 'unheard' - use the sound system!

The blinds didn’t fit, the finish wasn’t great, the bed head was by the door so you heard everyone walking to their room, there was peeling paint on some of the bathroom accessories.

Not sure about the transparent doors on the shower and loo,

Staff - reception, Merkaba and breakfast, were all friendly and helpful - the Merkaba bar had a great atmosphere and felt comfortable despite my in-laws being in their 80s!

Also had drinks in Merkaba good service too 😊and 20 % discount with our room key card.

but I’ve heard this hotel costs significantly more on peak nights.

This hotel costs 200 pounds a night if you pay that you are mental.

Overpriced- stuffy rooms, no air ventilation, windows wouldn’t open- so not even fresh air, no cleaning services, one light switch for the whole room/bathroom .

Very disinterested staff, overpriced and a bit grotty when you look closely.

Did not eat in the very expensive restaurant and opted for a cafe 1 minute walk up the road at a 3rd of the cost.

Spaces are limited and naturally, for Brighton a little pricey (£33 per night)

We did have a very dry m, drooping plant in our room which I watered a little  - no charge for my services!

Although we didn’t pay for anything special (it was just a standard room) I did think for the price we would have gotten better standards.

It’s not what was expected for a room of that price.

Stayed here last night and our room cost £200 per night, no breakfast included.

I paid £288 per room plus £60 each room for two nights .so a total of £700 for two nights for two rooms ..then it get worse has having young children we wanted to stay in at the cocktail bar in the evening.

but this really is a poor and very expensive offering.

The level of service made the receptionist look helpful in comparison.

My room was pink to the level where my eyes hurt.

That's just the icing on the cake for the level of service and space that this hotel gives you.

We stayed on the level 1 which is pink and purple.

We were amazed by the price for the level of quality this hotel is.

but we will go to the Seattle at Brighton Marina, which has the same style of "cool modern" appeal, but with the level of service/food/comfort and a bar that stays open till you want go to bed!

I would highly recommend this as a good value , unique boutique hotel and hope to return

My Brighton is a very unique hotel with a great location in the city centre.

A special hand written note had been left (which was a lovely touch) The Room itself was really stylish, unique and really quite 'quirky'.
