The hotel was close to a few tube stations, near Petticoat Lane market (1 min walk), Brick Lane and many other interesting places.

We ate at brick lane which again was a short 10 min walk from the hotel.

Rooms are nice and fresh, AC works well, very short walk to the Aldwich tube station, less than 10 min walk to spitalfields market area with loads of dining options.

The Hotel is ideally situated for the Shard, Sky Garden, Tower of London,  HMS Belfast and the  River Thames.

The lovely lady on the desk was apologetic and upgraded us to a super room with a lovely view of the shard from our window.

A short walk from Aldgate tube station and easy to get to places like Borough Market, The Shard, etc with restaurants like The Duck and Waffle just a short walk way.

Hotel is located around the corner from Aldgate station making access very easy, good location from there to the City and across the river to The Shard and Borough market.Restaurants for evening meals and breakfast are close by.

A great location for The Tower Bridge experience, The Shard and a nighttime stroll along the Thames.Breakfast was great value and all of the staff were friendly, helpful and approachable.

The only complaint I have about the bathroom was that the shower was pretty narrow, making the shower curtain stick to my skin while I showered (which I know is a pet peeve of many, haha) and it didn't do much in keeping the water in the shower itself and usually the entire bathroom floor got wet while showering.

but there was a privacy film on the inside of the window so no problem with prying neighbours!

Badly stained furniture, carpet stains and filthy room windows are not acceptable at any price point.

I suggested a new policy, where they record who has an iron and allow them a 2 hour window to use and return it - not unreasonable -

but so narrow and I am slim, so anyone slightly larger would struggle,with a grubby shower curtain and a shower head that didn't stay up, the bathroom flooded.

but it made no difference in the room .so we opened the window but it was so noisy at the front of the hotel we gave up and closed it .The air condition unit ran all night, it sounded old and whiney, Not a high end unit just cheap and not very cheerful .

Structure almost new and extremely neglected structure, (stained sheets, always lacking and stained towels, indecent carpet, shower with curtain and not with glass as shown in their own photos).

Cons: There were several minor issues in the room; stains on the carpet; lack of any glasses / beakers if you wanted a drink of water or to stand your toothbrush up; no shower mat and a shower that flooded due to poor shower curtain - both these latter issues were raised with reception and met with the response that 'we don't supply these'. .

but shower leaked all over the floor due to a Poundland style shower curtain.

but with a flimsy curtain that got sucked into the cubicle as you showered.

We were in London on 17th June 2022, when the temperature was in the 30's,  we were in room 530 and the air conditioning wasn't working properly and the window had a safety cord, so wouldn't open wide:  I complained and they gave us a fan.

They work all weekend and are very loud if you want to keep your windows open!

The only issues I had were the window on the room was dirty on the outside and there were marks on the wall.

Windows don't close correctly so the noise from outside makes it almost impossible to get a decent night's sleep.

Yet the cheap curtain constantly get suck inward by the extractor means one have to stand sideway with very limited space, very unpleasant.

The window had no view and was frosted so you could not see in or out.

I was a bit sceptical about shower curtains and indeed it does easily leak into the bathroom.

Stayed in this lovely hotel, near King's Cross for 6 nights, and I very much enjoyed my stay, all the staff were lovely and very friendly and approachable, bedroom space was very good.

I can't fault the location either, very convenient near to King's Cross and within walking distance of many attractions.

Hotel conviently placed a short walk from kings cross station.Check in was quick and easy,and the lady who checked us in was very friendly.

The people of the hotel are very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast display is really cute however it's no fry up Just posh stuff like croissants and blueberry muffins, some of the staff are really friendly, I hope I haven't got her name wrong

but incredibly small, with the bathroom door having to swing into the room as the bathroom was small as well.

Bathroom so tiny I had to sit sideways on the toilet - I am under 6’ tall.

The room was very small and the bathroom was tiny, had to dry myself in the room after a shower as there were no room in the bathroom to swing a cat.

The bathroom was on a similar scale to the room, a small shower cubicle, a wc with very little leg room and a narrow basin - the plug of which jamned shut on our last morning while I was shaving, meaning I had to bail out the water into the shower with a plastic cup.

however the bathroom itself was small with the toilet nearly touching the wall.

but the hotel room was so small and so weird, air conditioning was not working well, and it felt overall very uncomfortable.

The room we got was really quite small and there was a shelf at the end of the bed which made it really difficult to get to one side.

The room we got was lovely and we had a nice view on Sky Garden, the Shard, St. Pauls and even London Eye.

I also was given a room with a surprisingly lovely view of central London and The Shard.

Blackout curtains didn’t cover bottom of window so they were pointless.

Our room smelled musty so we opened the tiny window to air it out.

No windows in the room and we were shocked to see no wardrobe at all.

At my price, which was competitive for London, the window looked directly on a brick wall with little daylight.

I should have expected that I would be, because I had selected no window.

We had a very basic room with no windows, so when the shower was on the entire room for steamy, and everything was a bit damp.

Also in the category Double Bedroom with Window belong rooms with locked windows that one cannot open, ever.

I would suggest trying to get a new room when staying as there is old rooms and newer rooms, also if you need a good night's sleep get the rooms without windows, on the basement floor.

The curtains were broken, and there was a light outside the window constantly on.

but when we checked in we were on level -1 so there was no light from the underground window and so we had to change rooms.

In the afternoon I had to go back down to reception because the right curtain was half down and could not be moved, the girl assured me that today someone from maintenance would come to fix it,

This time I booked a room without a window.

Only complaint really is the curtain over the window was really ill fitting, and so the street light outside shone through the window, the light landing right on the bed so it was bright and difficult to sleep.

Negatives:
I opted for a room with a window which was on floor 1 (just above street level) the hotel is in a busy road and the traffic noise all night was a nightmare.

Initially had a bad experience with no air conditioning and staff at reception that didn't careless about my complaints.

Air con was not functioning in the room and it was hot and stuffy.

The bathroom was terrible, the service to fix anything was terrible, 
The AC didn't work it was hot and terrible to sleep.

AC in the room did not work properly and kept making sounds all night.

We requested fans for each room as we were prepared for the heat.

There was no air conditioning in the room and the fan in the bathroom did not work.

We had to endure a balmy 79-80 degrees in the room throughout out entire stay (even at night, dropped to 78), was provided with a desk fan; despite 3 attempts requesting to have AC fixed at the registration desk, we eventually found out they can't fix it;

Rooms are tired and I and I had to change as shower was broken and air con did not work.

This time there was no air conditioning in the rooms (which we were not advised of at check in).

We also were given another room and that cooling system did not work.

The aircon was not working and the fan was not effective.

but not working, even though there was a fan it was pretty hot all night.

The room that we stayed in looked tired and the air conditioning was very weak.

No air-conditioning and no fridge, at this point I was too tired to complain again.

Our other son said that the air con in their room was poor

The rooms are dated in area with black on the tiles around the bath.

Ceiling shower not high enough for tall people.

but the bathroom dated and could do with modernisation.

Outdated, and a massive environmental water disaster (Faucet running, single use towels, no water stop on the toilets, old and outdated bathroom with rusty rods).

toilets clog and no one came to fix it when we called.
