We found the staff friendly and accommodating, the room clean and adequately stocked, the breakfast delicious and the late night bar and entertainment enjoyable.

We recently had our wedding reception at the Clarendon, we were very pleased staff were very professional and polite, breakfast was lovely.

There was no fan in my room in very hot conditions.

The decor seemed quite outdated and gave off a "Haunted house"vibe .

The hotel images are presenting the rooms in a very flattering light – the actual rooms and hotel overall have all aged quite a bit and are in need of a refurbishment.

Room IMO was quite outdated, desk lamp bulb didn't work and no hairdryer.

but generally hotel very tired in places, pillows are rock hard foam, bathroom very outdated and patched up tiling.

Arrived at the hotel and instantly noticed the inside decour was in desperate need of updating.

but hotel just needs a good overhaul in my opinion.

Am tired of being an afterthought because my diet is deemed to be 'my choice' - take a long hard look at the production of meat and the conditions your food is raised in and you would not want to eat it either.

I stayed at the Clarendon as I couldn’t get into my usual hotel when commuting my son to/from uni. I booked a Crowne room which was immaculate (praise to the unsung hospitality heroes in housekeeping!!)

We paid £170 to stay in one of their deluxe rooms.

The hotel room is big with an en suit and the hotel is quiet.

although promoted as dog friendly when I first called I was told I could not have dogs in Crowne rooms.

I booked in for one night and my room was very comfortable with the en-suite bathroom.

I had a lovely view of the heath from my room and a fan to keep the room cool.

The room and catering were up to expectations.

The addition of ceiling fans and an in room mini fridge would make a big improvement.

Bathroom so small that the door wouldn’t even open fully as it collided with the toilet.

The bathroom basins are too small for someone that wet shaves.

but we had an old metal window that you couldn’t even shut, some very dubious stains in the carpet and wall and the bathroom was very small and dingy.

I love staying at the Clarendon when I’m going to a show at the O2.

I have stayed one more than one visit when going to The O2 and I think that says it all.The hotel is clean and comfortable.

I have stayed around  4-5 times and is not only on a convenient bus route to and from The O2, and train service back either to Victoria or Waterloo East, I have a very comfortable stay which comes with a good buffet breakfast.

We stayed here for a trip to the O2, in fact we have stayed here for the past few years because the location is excellent.

It is a great place to stay when visiting the o2 as it’s on a direct bus route and there are plenty of taxis at a very reasonable rate.

We stayed here because we was at the o2 in the evening , very close and only £12 in a taxi .

we have stayed at this hotel on several occasions when on a mini break or going to a concert at the O2.

The 108 bus runs to the O2 every 9 minutes from outside the hotel and is a 24 hour service, we used this in the evening.

Great place to stay for London and the O2.

This hotel is in a great location for the O2.

We had a great stay at the Clarendon Hotel, it is in a fabulous location with lovely surroundings and excellent for the O2.

Stayed here as went to concert at the O2.

I stayed here for one night when I was in London for work and was lucky enough to see Hugh Jackman at the O2.

Bus pick up just outside the hotel which drops off directly outside the O2 and runs 24 hours so very useful when coming home.

Booked our stay here as we were visiting the O2 and the location was perfect for this, the venue is only 15 minutes away in a taxi.

Close to central London and the O2, and Blackheath itself is very nice with lovely shops and plenty of restaurants.

Once you got out the shower you had just enough room to stand on the mat, as the sink, toilet and opposite wall were inches away from you.

The rooms was baking when we got in there and all they had was a fan on the wall to compensate the extreme heat.

When we were checking out I told the morning receptionists that a bracket on the wall in the bathroom was loose and all it needed was the screw tightening up   the response was low I thought why bother.

However the worse thing was the scratches heard in the walls god only wonders what that was.

The mattress was too soft for us and there is no air conditioning ( a fan on the wall )

although it had a wall fan it was fixed so that it never reached the bed.

We turned them off at the wall then went out and left window open to cool room.

The taps stick out across the basin making it difficult to bend down to throw water over your face and as a consequence you need to get in a contortionate position (if the proxiimity of the bath or wall allows).

You could hear the pipes in the wall making sounds all night.

There was a bath mat in a stained bag hanging on a wall.

but it was a hot night so not enough air, put on the old fashioned wire fan on the wall but it kept us awake with its clanking.

I imagine it would be rather hot in the summer as air-con not in this room only a wall mounted fan,

Room was basic and I could hear the neighbours through the walls.

There seems to be no isolation in the walls and the windows are really old fashion 1930-style single windows.

We entered the small double and the room was very hot (on one of the cooler July nights), the wall fan did not work and we found a stain on the duvet cover.

there was shower creme on the wall where it hadn't been cleaned properly.

The rooms really need updating-ours even had a fan stuck to the wall for air-con. !

but the room felt dated: the walls needed a lick of paint and the bathroom probably needs refurbishing as well.

Breakfast was as usual excellent and well presented.

We just visited this place for breakfast from the nearby Hyde Park International Hotel, which sells this service.

The breakfast was generous, with buffet-style English Breakfast options and a toast bar.

The breakfast rooms on the 2nd floor are beautiful and the landing and staircases area is exquisite.

Close to trains and buses, breakfast and dinner.

We had a double deluxe room with breakfast.

Come here because the building is steeped with Edwardian history; the staff are wonderfully friendly and professional; the breakfast diverse in its offerings; and the location cannot be beat!

It’s got great staff and it’s close to Hyde Park and the tube station ( Bayswater ) 

Breakfast was faultless …Surely even the fussy eaters can find something to eat. .

Breakfast was freshly cooked and again the staff couldn't have been more accommodating.

The staff breakfast were nice, and upon check in the recepcionist could find a room with a bathtub as I asked her.

I want to thank you to the staff for our pleasant stay at Grand Royale, the receptionist  upgrade our stay and provide both rooms near each other, the breakfast is just amazing.

The rooms are always clean; the food at breakfast excellent; the dining staff courteous and helpful;  the porters friendly and solicitous; and the manager a model of professionalism.

Breakfast had a nice selection - your usual cooked options (eggs, mushrooms, hashbrowns etc), along with cereals, yogurt, and bread for toast.

The rooms are very small - not at all like the photos and the shower literally soaked the whole bathroom - the biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness - We stayed for three days and

The photos online are so deceptive and I was so disappointed, I almost booked somewhere else,

We got a horrible room  in the basement that didn't look anything like the pictures!

yet pictures advertising the hotel rooms are nothing like the room we stayed in , very deceiving.

Very small match box room (not shown in the pictures) hard for 2 people to get ready ,shower close to wall hard to wash hair and walls were sticky.

A social media post on September 23rd starts there’s no place better to get a refreshing drink…… with a picture or the bar.

Overall, I definitely would not class this as a 4 star hotel and it fell short of my expectations having seen the online pictures and reviews.

The photos of communal areas really don't do it justice.

its unfortunate that this type of "hotel " is allowed to mislead honest people .

Overall we had a lovely stay in London, the location of the hotel was perfect for what we had planned,

Location is the greatest selling feature of this so called “Boutique” hotel.

Had a lovely stay at the Grand Royale, really enjoyed the ornate interior and the very convenient location.

Worth the risk at times  as location works for me

On a positive note: nice position for interesting areas such as Notting Hill, nice as well to be very close to Hyde Park, plenty of restaurants in the area,

but are good value based on the location and London in general.

It’s perfectly located for the Queensway underground station which gets you to Oxford Circus in no time so if you’re staying and want to get into the city it’s not a bad stop.

There are much more desirable and better located hotels throughout all of London.

A great central location to see all of Lobdon.

Although in a good location and no complaints about the staff who really were helpful -  the hotel itself is very run down.

The only benefits of this hotel is the location and the fact that it had AC during a heatwave in London.

The location was great near to Queensway tube, by Hyde Park.

Located very conveniently near Hyde Park and a couple minutes' walk to several underground stations, as well as handy to shopping and restaurants on the next road. Converted from a gorgeous Victorian house (commissioned for singer Lillie Langtry by Edward VII), the hotel retains it's character and architectural detail (including the flocked wallpaper!)

The best feature of this hotel is the location, which is central to many shops and restaurants, as well as a couple of tube stations.

The staff were lovely, the location was good

Great location, 5 minutes from tube stations and we had our morning run in Hyde Park just across the road.

The hotel itself is beautiful and historical and the location was fantastic near the underground stations

Room and the toilet was very clean though.

Comfortable room and we appreciated the aircon during the tail end of the heatwave.

The rooms are so drastically different you just don’t know what you will get.

Leaving at 5pm I called reception to let them know they can clean the room, I even spoke to a female receptionist who confirmed this will be done.

You can stay at a RED Carnation Hotel with spacious rooms  with a bath not just a shower for far less.

Bedroom area of the room was 6x8 feet with a lobby for wardrobe and tea and coffee making.

Friendly reception team, room had tea/coffee/air con.

The room was, whilst small, more than adequate, very clean, well decorated and the bathroom was spotless.

Yes, the rooms are meant to be renovated,

I really loved everything rooms were just beautiful.

I will start with the positives, the staff were lovely and helpful, very polite and when we arrived one of the rooms we had booked had no remote and they came to the room straight away to sort it.

but luckily the air con did rid the smell whilst we were in there.

The whole place was dirty and disgusting.

It also feels musty and dirty everywhere, common spaces, rooms, and the street outside.

This property was dressed up and sold as a 5 star hotel, which is extremely deceptive and disgusting.

Room was very tired with lighting fixtures coming away, loads of marks on walls and head board and burn mark on the bath.

Room was filthy and did not meet the usual 4 star standard we normally stay in.

The rooms were small and were quite dirty/dusty with some damp problems around showers.

Overall a really depressing and filthy atmosphere.

The bath was a bit grubby and around the windows were damp and mouldy.

The smell of the room was disgusting with an awful view of the council flats about 20metres opposite.

Love the architecture and the breakfast, for London it’s reasonable  priced( via Wowcher) I found the man at reception not very welcoming, rooms was tiny even for London and there was an unpleasant smell on our floor when we returned in the evening.

.the walls in the corridors were filthy , the carpets grimy  , battered wood on the doors , i had to ask for bette rooms 

they changed the rooms .

Filthy shower and pubes in the sink plus not the Hyde Park view I'd paid for.
