but got upgraded free of charge to the Perrier Jouet suite on arrival which was a lovely surprise.

Lovely little place, Daniela checked us in and was wonderful, really great service and personally showed us to our room.

When we arrived in Brighton we walked from the station to the hotel it took around 25 minutes to walk there.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, even being served Prosecco.

When we arrived at the hotel the hosts were so friendly and helpful.

We were made to feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived.

Owner-manager, Kerry ensured my first visit to Blanch House progressed perfectly from arrival to departure.

We had an issue with our pre booked Just Park space when we arrived (we didn't book this through the hotel)  One phone call to the hotel and alternative parking was all sorted out of us, with no fuss.

but when we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to Pommery, one of their feature rooms.

Upon arrival it was a very warm, shown around the hotel which is a stones through from the sea front.

Arrived in good time and was greeted with a big smile and welcome from Sam.

We spent a night in the lovely Pommery room as a bit of a treat, and couldn't have felt any more welcome from the moment we arrived until when we left.

We decided to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary by spending the Weekend in Brighton , We were really impressed with the way we were treated from the moment we arrived , all the Staff go well above and Beyond to make you feel welcome.

Very friendly and helpful staff from the minute we arrived.

Wonderful from checking in to check out staff are friendly helpful breakfast was delicious can’t praise blanch house enough will certainly stay again,excellent all round good value for money too,5 stars on everything! !

When we arrived at the hotel they had also upgraded us to the Pierre jouet room which was just gorgeous !

When checking in the lady ungraded us to the harlequin room.

I particularly liked the personal touch of a phone call on the morning of our arrival  to check to see if we had any special requirements and also to explain the parking arrangements.

We stayed in the Harlequin room and our bed was super comfortable.

Comfy rooms and a lovely (continental) breakfast.

They rooms are homely, comfortable and I always say.

A comfortable bed allowed for a restful sleep and fresh towels each day was particularly helpful.

Our room was clean, quirky, well appointed and had a black out blind 
(always good when you want a lay in).Bed was comfy too.

but beautifully decorated with a huge, comfortable bed.

The bed was also incredibly comfortable and fair to say every nights sleep was a good one!

The decor is consistently interesting and tasteful, and the location can’t be improved.

The hotel is in a great location just a couple of minutes from the sea front.

The location is ideal for the pier, town centre and Marina (we visited via the Volks railway just a few minutes' walk from the hotel).

Great location, everything near at hand, great shops especially the lanes great for something a little bit different.

The location of the hotel also met approval, just a frisbee throw from Brighton Beach and a five minute walk to the Pier.

Wow what can I say, the Blanch House was the best hotel I have stayed in for a long time…every thing was perfect and the Legacia Room was different class..

Like all of us - When we look at booking a hotel or place to stay..we always look at the price, the amenities, location and reviews..

This is an excellent place to stay in Brighton- super friendly staff, great lounge bar, lovely rooms ( we were a 3 so had 2 rooms), brilliant location,
Nice and clean.

Location wise the hotel is directly off of main Brighton seafront in Kemptown, perfectly situated for shops, coffee bars and bars / gay nightlife if u want it,

Wonderful stay in a very welcoming, spotlessly clean, town house, ideally located in the city of Brighton.

Conveniently located and presented to a very high standard, we would definitely stay here again and can recommend to others.

Well located with Saint James Street which has lots of eateries and other shops.

Also the location is very convenient being only a 10 minute walk away from the lanes and 5 minutes to the pier.

So when you consider that nearly 1700 people have made the effort to write and only 65 plus a few more - have said that their experience is poor or terrible..

No milk given one day cups left dirty another day  and wet towels left on the towel rail by cleaners

Limited to say the least and what was on the menu was poor quality and given to be done as cheap as possible ( continental only) and served poorly needed 3 requets to get all I  needed for my toast one  day

Positively I can say when poor standards were highlighted attemps were made to correct 
The owner felt his £130 price tag was right I am afraid I do not maybe Brighton is out of my price league! !

Lovely room, view across to the pier, unfortunately very poor weather.

but it was just screwed back on rather than being fixed so we could actually use it! - twice we had to ask for the bathrobes as described in the room description
- the breakfast was poor: a minimal buffet with dry cake (the same every day rather than ‘chef’s cake of the day’ as the menu described, which probably describes the dryness!)

We booked Blanch House after cancelling a booking at The Queens hotel because of the poor recent reviews on here!

She also said the light was poor for doing her make up.

The one consistent theme is the level of comfort and attention to detail in every experience.

I'll be staying here every time I visit Brighton - simply for the level of customer care and boutique style rooms.

and it's maybe a half  block to the beach and a 10 minute walk the pier.

The Area
Blanch House is ideally situated in a quiet street at the east end of the long promenade.. Close to Bars, Restaurants, Brighton Pier, BA 360i, and the main town centre, which is about 14 min walk..lovely walk, in fact with the sea and beach to your left.. the town has an abundance of eateries, bars, restaurants..and many Fish & Chip Shops..LOL..!!

They gave us some good tips for places to eat and we opted for the Thai restaurant which was a 4 minute walk from the hotel.

We went into central Brighton every evening and walked back without any issues at any time.

As soon as you walk into the boutique hotel you can feel how luxurious the hotel is.

He offered his plentiful local knowledge and supplied a map, on which he took the time to mark some walking routes and good places to eat.

Really well located ( I walked everywhere ) lots of super restaurants to chose from .

but in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the pier and city centre.

Located in Kemptown a few minutes walk from the bustling Brighton Pier (and a ten minute's walk from the city centre), this gem of a boutique hotel provides the perfect sanctuary for anyone wishing to experience Brighton without sacrificing their own sense of privacy.

It is about 10 mins walk from Royal Pavillion and 2mins to sea front.

but the noise wasn’t over bearing at all in the early evening and that was with our window wide open however there is also Air Con in the room should you prefer to keep the window closed but still wish to be cool.

Noise from the bar at the back as the windows  are not double glazed, wobbly taps , hooks hanging off doors.

No aircon in room which meant sleeping with the window open- cacophony of seagulls woke us at various times.

There was a bit of nighttime noise from the pub garden that our window overlooked,

- the room felt poorly maintained: there was mould in the shower and whilst I concede this is sometimes hard to keep on top of to not even replace the shower curtain at the start of the season is just tight-fisted!

but really quite small and not much of a view out of the window.

but with heavy curtains so your sleep will not be disturbed.

There was a bar just outside our window and at times it was very noisy (though most of this stopped by 11.00).

We did struggle to sleep as there was a terrace bar across from our window that kept us awake till 11pm and the room was quite hot with no air conditioner so we couldn't open the window because of the noise

The room was very hot, thankfully the window opened really wide so got some air.

but I put that down to being at the seaside closed the windows and put on the fan.

The view from the room overlooked several other properties meaning that privacy was an issue when the curtains were open.

Right outside my window there was a noisy beer garden and the disturbance was not stopped by closing the window.

Would note that there is an outside bar area underneath the window of the Alice room which was slightly disruptive

but the buildings on the other side, you can see a bit of the see if you lean to the left from the window, but this did not matter so much in January as it is cold and was foggy anyways :)

Our experience of service was mixed.

Our room to be honest seemed small and did not help with the noise from the pub at rear as our window looked over the pub garden.

If you don't like the background noise between 6pm & 10pm you just have to close your window and use the air conditioning.

Close the window at night, as seagulls are very noisy!

but the room was dim and the net was pinned to the window which had we put it back it was overlooked by several houses thus making it difficult to attempt make up.

From checking in to the end of our stay is first class.

Strangely enough the Hilton replied to my previous review a for days before arriving !

The whole team even the manager were working hard to deliver the best service were they keep on checking on guests.

We checked into a newly refurbished room which was lovely.

Fabulous stay at the Metropole, reception check in/out was with the usual Hilton efficiency.

On the way out the hotel door, I checked (queued, obviously) and this was 18:00.

The only plus point to this stay was the nice receptionist who checked us out.

She even checked us in to our room about 2 hrs before.

They allowed us to check in a couple hours early which was much appreciated.

With check in at 4pm decided to book the special offer 2pm late check out, breakfast and upgraded Wi-Fi so we could make the most of the time.

Upon arrival we were  given a nice room with a bath, great for me,

We did enjoy the leisure facilities, booked a swim slot before arrival and stayed about an hour using the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna and again on the morning we left before breakfast.

Advised of building works by email two days before we arrived ,despite booking this months before.

Checking in was embarrassing - 1 hour and the computer went down.

Easy, hassle-free, friendly check-in, safe indoor storage place for bikes, comfortable and spotless room, great bar and a first-class breakfast. Thanks!

On arrival to the room, I noticed that is was spacious,

I actually can't belive I paid nearly £400, check you have breakfast included as when I booked I definitely remember including breakfast and when I checked in it wasn't on the booking.

The hotel location is great and a short walk to most of Brighton centre and if you get a beach view, will get a great view of the sea front.

Perfect for everywhere - The Lanes, the beach, The Pavilion, shopping…everything!!!

LOCATION: Excellent location by the seafront.

Lovely hotel would recommend, lovely breakfast and amazing view, polite staff, perfectly located for city and walks a long the Brighton and Hove beach.

The rooms are really nice we had a suite which was lovely with a really nice view of the beach and everything that was going on.

Very good Internet access and excellent sea view and walking distance to beach.

The hotel is ideally placed for the British Airways i360 tower, plus the city centre and of course the seafront.

We spent a wonderful Christmas at the Hilton Metropole Brighton, our sea view room was huge, with a spectacular view over the old pier.

The lifts proper are still being refurbished yet old battered ones are the only option.

I asked for ordinary breakfast tea and the staff took 2 tatty looking individually wrapped teabags out of his pocket.

There was a lump of wood missing from the bathroom door, there was barely room for my toiletries and no receptacle for toothpaste and toothbrush, the plastic was peeling off the headboard, and the joins in the wallpaper were falling away.

Stains on the drapes and carpet, furniture old fashioned and almost falling apart and headboard with the plastic falling off.

Then the walk to the room along corridors with wallpaper peeling, trays left outside rooms, staffing raising voices at each other.

If you think I am being OTT, take some time to read other reviews of the non refurbished rooms and you'll recognise I am talking sense.

but as we were not due to sleep in the hallway these didn’t bother us… got to the room and found the space quite nice… slightly dated colours (yellow wall, deep red Curtains, grey carpet) but the hotel is being upgraded so that’s ok. What was not acceptable was the defects to the room.

Whole place very dated and poor maintenance.

The place looked like a building site, communal areas very tired with dingy corridors.

The room was not one that had been refurbished so was a little in need and had a tiny bathroom.

Absolute chaos in main reception which was equally drab and shoddy.

Check in queues, broken lifts, building work noise, poor quality breakfast, tired old bedrooms, saggy mattress - and a bathroom 'designed' by someone with no working knowledge of bathroom design.

I asked for refurbished rooms..  We had 3 rooms for our 3 families, including 3 children under 5.

Cons:

- The room was very dated (hoping it wasn’t one of the renovated ones)
- Air conditioning wouldn’t turn on, so we had to use a broken fan in the wardrobe
- The bathroom had loose tiles on the floor, rust over the radiator and the handle on the ‘accessible’ bath was close to falling off.

Stained , tired , chipped , mismatched , wallpaper coming away , carpet marked and curtains .

There was also a mattress left outside my door for 2 days.

Scraped doors, filthy carpet with a multitude of very ominous looking stains including one outside our room that looked as

The fire doors once you have gone through them close permanently behind you.

It stalled and the door opened 2 inches and shuddered.

Dirty walls, windows, paint coming off bathroom wood and inside bath tub, super rusty window hinges and can’t open bathroom window, no power sockets near bed, wood on front main door scratched out.

When we got back the door to our room was open.

though there are balconies below where you can go out on the whole balcony

Incredibly disappointing refurbishment, Hilton

I will be staying next door from now onwards

The problem is a lady knocked on our door to ask are we leaving today.

Heavy front doors to the side of revolving door not easy to access.

Had to access the hotel from a rear door via the car park, no signage  and a tortuous journey through drab, badly lit and dirty corridors.

I was asked to leave the bar area as I was eating a small portion of chips from the chip shop which is located next door to the hotel I couldn't believe i asked for a copy of the terms and condition for the hotel

I noticed when trying to lock the door to go out that the door could not be locked so was not secure.

but not at the moment

The car parking is an utter rip off £25.00 per night - it really is taking the P 

Park in the local car park - half price and its next door to the hotel

Really disappointed - it seems this once grand hotel has suffered badly during the covid crisis.

lifts didn't work at first just sat there creaking, doors shuddering.

A water leak over the door and rubbish bins just outside did not make for a good impression.

This is also not protecting its costumers from covid and should shut its doors until more staff are available.

The entire 3 days we were there, a dirty plastic box remained outside our door (pictured) and I even saw the cleaner walk past it!

I stayed at the Hilton Metropole Brighton on 3 stays over a 5 week period whilst on training courses near to Brighton.

Hilton, come on, just shut the hotel down, and get all the work done.

Saba has done all what could be done to enhance my stay at the Hilton and bring a positive outcome to my requests.

The cost of this hotel , and with the Hilton name, you’d really expect a lot more.

however Hilton Metropole you deserve this and hopefully management will endeavour to redress.

but I had been upgraded as part of my Hilton Diamond status.

We likely won’t stay at this Hilton again.

The Hilton breakfast remains the best anywhere!

I've stayed at the Hilton in London and they have plenty of vegan options.

We stayed whilst attending an event at the Hilton.

Booked Hilton metropole a month before date of stay.

I have just stayed at the Hilton (Brighton) in a superior refurbished double family room.

This time the room was clean upto the hilton name as I was personally looking for a reason to find an excuse for a refund/no stay.

Other Hilton hotels I have stayed at provide a separate dining area for diamond guests, or an enhanced breakfast menu.

Hotel:

I could see the of the progress of refurbishment work on the property that Hilton are doing.

To call in AC is to only use the letters … sweltering rooms … can’t open a window … hotel under construction … poor fit out .. smashed my head in shower and had to seek medical care … tragically bad breakfast

This is expensive accommodation and I have never experienced such poor service ever.

The price of your rooms, coffee, breakfast are not acceptable when the offerings are so, so poor.

Staff are disinterested and food is poor quality (judged on breakfast only)

Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere.

Am surprised to see such poor reviews here.

Awful room no working heating poor internal decor and furnishings poor views.

The general cleanliness of the room itself was poor.

The manager refused to refund the room or even breakfast when we couldn’t stay there due to poor quality of the room.

I’m very surprised at the poor standards of Hilton - this is the second Hilton hotel I’ve experienced like this: old, tired and poorly maintained.

Then it turned into faulty towers   - chasing around for bottles of water , no clean of room the next day , freezing cold rooms ( I did wonder why heaters in cupboards ) and could overhear people complaining about the cold at reception along with poor sleep due to gales outside and wind coming

The room was very modern, absolutely nothing to complain about.

At which point there isnt much room between the end of the main bed and the pull-out.

Newly refurbed room fresh modern large wardrobe with proper hangers no fiddly hook by a nail.

The view from my room was straight onto a building site and there was a dead seagull hanging from the top of the window.

Great room, service and overall experience.
