Front desk sent up a small desk fan to try to counter the stifling heat and humidity.

but I did wonder how in summer heat the rooms would be, and without air con more of an autumn/winter choice perhaps.

(Americans, take note - there is no air conditioning in this hotel, as it is seldom needed in London. Windows in the rooms open!)

The room was hot without air conditioning, or a fan.

The rooms also come with no air conditioning which is fine

Taking a shower made the room unbearably hot as there was no proper ventilation.

but the double bad was too small not very comfortable   the TV proved to complicated to operate there was no air conditioning so a fan was supplied.

but it was so hot we could barely sleep at all because there isn’t any air conditioning.

I requested a room on the first floor and a fan in the room and got both.

One of the hottest days of the year, no air con in the room and window restrictors.

The only problem we encountered was there was no aircon.

but we asked for a quiet room which was confirmed as granted on check in We were placed on 1st floor above kitchen with noisy extractor fan and cooking smells 24 hour per day.

Last room we had to stay overnight in was extremely hot as there was no air conditioning, having the window open made no difference and the noise of the outside generators made it impossible for us to sleep.

He also delivered a fan personally to our room because it was hot since there is no AC in the room.

Only down side was the room was pretty hot with not AC.

Room lovely, bathroom a bit tired looking and needs upgrading with an extractor fan added.

The location is excellent, with British Museum close by and Russell Square underground station a couple of minutes walk away.

London central addresses are just a few minutes away with the tube or walk to British Museum.

The hotel is in a good location in terms of access to both the City and West End as well as British Museum and Covent Garden.

The location was excellent and very easy to walk to some key places eg tube station, British Museum.

You aren't going to find a swimming pool, spa, gym, room service or fine dining

I barely hear any sound from neighboring rooms.

Overnight was quite enough with no notable disturbances.

Noisy at night outside window, horrible twin beds when asked for double.

The room was noisy, the walls seemed to be paper thin.

I have taken a video of the room to get an indication as to the level of the sound.

The taps are clunky, noisy and the shower curtain sticks to you in the shower.

Position and noise, we should have been advised.

however, someone in the room next door having some sort of bronchitis attack or something and the constant cough was a) loud and b)  stomach churning.

The shower gel if you call it that also  screwed on the wall ..I wanted a bath so to get to the shower gel and shampoo you have to stand up then sit back down to wash your body or hair no good for people with disabilities so please take your own I forgot mine like a fool 
So if you don't want to sleep due to the noise outside and want a rubbish to no sleep stay here .

Walls are paper thin and you can hear the conversations and TVs of people several rooms away.

Maintenance need to fit soft closes in the door as all night you hear doors slamming 
The corridors and carpets need a revamp likewise bedrooms 

BREAKFAST - Excellent choice of food

Only down side is a lot of rooms have not got a very nice view as they face onto the backs of other hotels and are quite noisy as well.

There is no air conditioning and opening the window is not an option due to road noise.

I am unsure of the window quality, in England it can often be low, and then there can be noise.

but walls are thin so the snoring and voices from next door was very easy to hear.

The landing areas are a bit shabby and could do with a spruce up, there was also rubbish on the landings.

located very close to Russell square on the Piccadilly line and within a 10-15 min walk to soho, china town, Leicester square and the west end.

Close to Russell Square underground station - very convenient if arriving at Heathrow Airport.

Being on the edge of Russell Square you are very near a tube station and there always seems to be a taxi on hand.

It is also walking distance from Russell Square and Holborn Underground Stops.

The atrium bar had a lovely ambience with live jazz by Ralph Lewars, a lovely surprise.

The Atrium bar was very relaxing and a great place to chill out during a busy day tube jumping, Russell Square tube station is a 2 minute walk.

We had a nice drink in the atrium bar before going for our included 3course dinner.

The Atrium bar downstairs also very nice to sit and have a quiet drink.

but is also a pleasant stroll to Covent Garden,   we took advantage of the evening meal which is part of a two night minimum  stay, the Atrium bar is a great place to relax and have a pre or post dinner drink --- and prices are again we think not the usual expensive London prices, yes we'll  be back

Particularly liked the atrium which was art deck style and the drinks were reasonably priced.

The nightly rate was excellent for its location.

The Atrium lounge and bar was a very attractive place to unwind in the evening.

The bar prices were very realistic and service in the Atrium bar/ lounge was really very good.

The Atrium Lounge is very comfortable in art decco style with snacks available.

We used the atrium bar twice it was friendly and a nice place to chill out.

The President also has some nice bars and this time I had a drink in the Atrium Bar, which is very stylish and has very serviceminded staff.

We had tea and scones in the Atrium on our last afternoon and the young man on duty went out of his way to assist.

This hotel is three minutes from Russell Square tube station, a minute from the lovely square itself, 10 minutes from the British Museum, a short walk to Euston, St Pancras and King's Cross, and — surprisingly — walking distance to West End theatres.I have always had a pleasant greeting from reception staff and the friendly porters.

This hotel is amazing located near a tube, you can walk to the British Museum and other shops easily.

The British Museum is literally about a 3 minute walk away.

It’s positive was it was near the British museum and nearby some very good restaurants.

The staff were really helpful, especially the concierge who looked after our bags as we went to the British Museum.

Booked this place for a one night stay in January to show my mum the British museum as that is quite close by, and I was very impressed with this hotel.

The windows are obviously the original ones   as there's no double glazing and a very old fashioned lock thing .

Windows barely open and don’t look like they have changed since the hotel was built many years ago.

but when you cannot open the window due to the fan nose it isn't acceptable.

The windows should be allowed to open wider as the room was too hot especially at night and the toilet took a lot of pressure to flush properly  

In addition to this meal deals should be in place for breakfast and evening meals as paying £30 00 for breakfast is in my opinion a lot and equally paying over £50 for a evening meal is just as bad

On the whole a lovely hotel

Single glazing and less that adequate sealing around the windows just mean you stand no chance of sleeping.

Windows might be in need of refurbishing.

However, even with the windows wide open (no nets / privacy) there was no getting rid of that smell.

.No blinds or nets for that matter so no privacy.

The windows did not close completely, and the smell of garbage was very unpleasant.

No air con so we slept with the window open.

Had to sleep with windows open and it was quite noisy from a fan or something outside.

Unfortunately the room was not as good as the rest of the hotel and showed its age , it had old metal windows and felt claustrophobic.

Was a friends birthday and they left supercute muffins in our room and a birthday card.

We can’t pay in cash only by credit card.

There have been a LOT of reviews in which people said they were charged for minibar items they didn’t use.

The guy who served me at the restaurant didn't know how the payment card machine worked. .

Since having this phone call a further £59 and £1 charge has been taken from my account.

although there was a problem.. which is that I paid  my stay before coming, and after the check-out, They double charge me..

We were overcharged for a recent stay and despite waiting more than 14 days for a refund it still hasn't happened Beware if your mini bar has been charged even if it is a small amount because your not going to get it back and communicating with the hotel is almost impossible they don't pick up the phone or respond to emails Pretty poor overall

but I won’t charge you the £40, I think not seeing we havnt got what I requested.

but what annoyed me the most was I found a charge on my card a few days later.

However we were charged £11 for minibar items that we did not have.

Also the hotel has charged me for 3 nights not 2!

They have agreed to refund my credit card which is exactly what they should do

As the weekend went on this was obviously depending on who was at reception as some got charged and some didnt, I did, was told Id be refunded, never was!

We were disappointed we were to be charged for an early check in - the room was ready and you could not give it to anyone else and it felt like profiteering.

Came to pay for room of which I was doing in cash to be told no cash taken and pointed to a tiny card placed on reception the size of a playing card !

I hope they enjoy my £9 because it is the last money they will ever earn out of me as clearly I will never stay again in a Hotel that can not be trusted with my card details.

After much deliberation, they provided me with another drink and said that we would not be charged for both drinks, yet when it came to settling the bill for our drinks we were overcharged, which they quickly corrected.

Also got charged for the mini bar which we didn’t use,

but it was very modern and worth a visit next time.

The hotel decor was very modern and stylish - very Instagrammable without feeling intimidating.

We arrived at hotel at about 1.30 and asked was there any possibility of early check in, the receptionist said call back at 3pm We did this and were allocated a room  on first floor street side which obviously would be loud.

I tried to reach the front desk with my cell; could not navigate the phone tree.

First night lots of noise from the room above, rang down to receiption at 10.30pm no answer.

It took a week to get an answer out of the hotel as to what the charge was, including calling multiple times with no answer and emailing over and over to get some response.

But what let it down was out of our 4 nights stay our room wasn't cleaned I had to call reception on 2 nights for clean towels paying over £1,000 I didnt expect to clean our room take trash to reception and collect towels.

Unfortunately room service did not exist as no one answered the phone ….

She asked her colleague if he had taken a call from our room to which he said know.

We tried to call twice and there was no answer.

Only negatives is there is not a direct phone number online for the front desk.

I then rang the hotel to say what happened and no one answered,  I rang at least 25 times.

For an example, when we requested bath robes and towels (there were none in our room on arrival), we had a highly stressed, emotional housekeeper shout at us that she had none and that she couldn't keep running around answering calls from guests.

After a call to reception it arrived when we were out for the rest of the evening so we didn’t open it which was a waste of £50 as it was not refunded.

Called the hotel and emailed and they just keep fobbing me off ‘call the hotel directly’ ‘as you booked through booking.con we can’t help’

My partner rang reception 6 times before someone answered (at times it just immediately hung up before even ringing) and we were told that we’d taken a wine bottle from the mini fridge.

Could not reach reception on the phone to talk about it so I had to go downstairs and talk to someone.

No mention of the restrictions when confirming booking on phone just days before arrival.

Not the hotels fault that some of their guests were very inconsiderate slamming their doors and fighting in the hallways at 1am, ( one call to reception though and a few other guests telling them to keep the noise down, and it did eventually stop)

But be aware of the extra charge that god knows if you ever see again, and don’t be fool they don’t have a spa, they have something like a pool and a lovely amazing masseuse call Paola!

During my visit, the spa was never crowded and was therefore a lovely place to start the day (with a morning swim in the pool) or a area to relax after a long day of walking through the city.

They have a pool, gym and the rooftop bar is amazing.

We meet Alexander at reception, who welcomed us and provide us with necessary amenities..we we in the sauna, steam room, and of course the pool ((23°) it was too inviting..we ended up staying for over 2hrs..
Florin the cleaner was really looking after the place,  replenishing, cleaning and all with a smile greeting to everyone..

It has big rooms, a big pool, nice bar, excellent location  (near almost everything that you need) and tasty breakfast.

but all in all had a big omelette made, I enjoy the spa unfortunately there no jacuzzis!

We used the pool and sauna  which was very relaxing.

There is a fantastic pool in the basement.

Breakfast was fab and spa and pools were very good too.

The rooms are comfortable and very well appointed, location is ideal, it has a wonderful indoor pool and spa facilities and a nice complete gym.

The pool is nice and warm and well maintained.

There were some good points to the hotel: The location was great, and the pool was lovely.

Room was large with super king and newly refurbished, quick check in, trendy design, cool rooftop bar and pool that opens early till late.

There was also no jacuzzi, which is one of the things we were most looking forward to, to relax and unwind.

First of all I want to say how good this hotel could be due to location, rooftop bar & pool. However!

The facilities were really good, we used the pool, sauna and steam room.

The Holborn spa is a classical contrast to the gaudy hotel deco.

Once again, we visited the spa as previous experience was too surreal.

The price was affordable, and our server Nasri was very kind and friendly! I came with a friend to celebrate my birthday and went to the spa (the spa was amazing as well!)

It is large, with a sauna and steam room.

I went to the NYX Hotel to have a spa day for my Birthday.

They have degraded the so-called spa and the service is sh1t.

The hotel has a spa which was ok- the swimming pool was good and very clean,

Breakfast was great with plenty of variety and the spa and treatments were amazing.
