Almost every time I appeared in the hotel lobby Michelle was holding open the elevator door (heavy), so the guy on crutches could get in.

It’s got a very small lift and 6 floors of rooms. Love!!

The only negative thing I can say is that it probably had the tiniest elevator we’ve ever encountered.

There is one small elevator, just big enough for one with a big suitcase of 2 people.

Old fashion style lift in the middle of a circular stairwell.

but inside it makes use of its narrow shape, with six rooms spread across each floor, a central lift with glass sides surrounded by a stone staircase.

There is a small cage elevator that barely fit our luggage and one person or 2-3 persons without luggage, so we often chose to walk the five flights of stairs.

Hotel is small and with accordingly limited facilities (no bar or restaurant for example, one tiny lift)

The modern decor is complimented by tasteful contrasts, including a winding marble staircase and old fashioned elevator.

The hotel has a single, small lift, probably not for claustrophobes ,

The small elevator for two (2), is a treat in looks and performance!

but pretty elevator that accommodates a couple people with luggage at one time.

Due to the historic nature of the hotel building, the elevator is quite small and slow.

Bedrooms are very clean and well equipped.

Great location and it is probably the cleanest, most well-equipped hotel I have ever stayed. Night light sensors, beautiful modern decor and all luxury conveniences such as Nespresso coffee maker, towel warmer, lighted makeup mirror, superior hair dryer (Dyson!)

Spectacular interior, superbly comfortable and well equipped rooms,  entirely spotless from top to bottom, and all of the staff were friendly and helpful.

but a good size, with all the facilities you need - quite modern but also had a nice feel too.

Spotless, greatly equipped and most important with professional staff this hotel is one of the best places where we were.

This is a beautiful hotel - immaculately clean, well put together with excellent staff and facilities.

This hotel is perfect; it’s updated and the facilities and amenities are the best we’ve experienced in Europe.

but very attractive, comfortable, spotless, quiet and perfectly equipped, including fine shower room.

A delicious, abundant  ala carte breakfast that can be included with your room served on fine china, luxurious high end fabrics and furnishings in all the common areas and guest rooms, super modern conveniences in the guest rooms (Villeroy & Boch bathroom facilities, Dyson blow dryers, amazing lighting).

The small property is beautifully decorated and equipped with great attention to detail.

The spa is an impressive facility; small,

but walking up the 5 flights of stairs was a good workout enough times during the day.

The hotel was lovely and quiet, the breakfast very nice and the location is excellent for the museum quarter and a short walk on to the major city sights.

Close to all the major cultural attractions (walking distance 20  mins to Musicverein, 20 mins to StephensDom, 5 mins to Kunsthistorisches museum).

The art collection in this hotel was honestly better than that of a couple of museums we visited on this trip.

The hotel is in a good location on the edge of the museum quarter, so very close to The Leopold, yet I was not aware of any traffic noise.

The position was excellent, being so close to the Museum Quarter.

The hotel is located near the main shopping area / museum quarters and all main areas of attraction are within reach, and the subway station is within walking distance.

The Museum of Natural History could take hours to see it all.

The location is great,  close to museums and markets,  and only 15 minutes walk from the very centre of the city.

Step out of the door into the Museum Quarter with shops, metro, buses and trams within walking distance for ease of getting around town.

The city center location is great and felt safe, museums are a hop skip away, places of interest are within easy 15 minutes walking distance and many restaurants in the area as well.

This hotel is in a very convenient location adjacent to Museum Quarter and on the pedestrian Mariahilfer shopping district.

The rooms are immaculate in terms of cleanliness and decor and the art throughout the hotel is a treat for the eyes.

This is a small boutique hotel, 30 rooms, so attention to detail is very good.

It was such a wonderful room, with elegant details, free chocolates every day, great coffee machine, and free pastries downstairs everyday.

Our room was lovely and the staff was gracious and professional!

The decor is fabulous, with paintings in every room and corridor.

Our room was very comfortable, containing amenities like an excellent coffeemaker and embroidered slippers.

My wife & I stayed in one of the best rooms on offer - a studio - for three nights, to celebrate her special birthday.

The rooms are perfectly soundproof and beds are very comfortable.

Our room was just lovely and the breakfast was delicious.

Everyone at reception was so kind and helpful, the room was very modern and clean, the artwork was fun and the location is honestly perfect.

Then, too, there are four rooms with balconies overlooking the interesting Mariahfilfer Strasse.

The tree-lined shopping street was very pleasant.

The hotel is relaxing and on Vienna's busiest shopping street.

The location is also excellent, 10 minutes to a number of different christmas markets and just off the main shopping street surrounded by shops and restaurant's.

The soundproofing was excellent; we were 1st floor out onto the main shopping street and you could not hear a thing.

The hotel is within convenient walking distance from city highlights and main historic and tourist attractions, parks, a variety of restaurants and shopping (the hotel is located on Mariahilfer Strasse shopping street), public transport stations and much more.

To begin the hotel is located on the fabulous shopping street of Mariahilfer in the Museum Quarter, walking distance to the Hofburg Palace, Opera House, cafes and restaurants and metro stops.

Great Location at the longest shopping street in Vienna!

We got a first-floor room overlooking the Mariahilferstrasse shopping street.

The location is really good, right in the middle of a main shopping street and a few minutes away from the U Bahn (making it really easy to get to from the airport).

Location is excellent, right off Mariahilferstrasse, one of Vienna's main shopping streets.

Just on the corner of a great shopping street, the hotel is decorated intricately with very welcoming staff.

but peeked in at breakfast and it looked good

in a great location on the Mariahilferstrasse which is one of the nice shopping streets and pedestrian malls. just far enough from the city center to have better rates than the better known hotels, but just a short 10 - 15 walk to all the key city attractions (Vienna Opera House, Imperial Palace, Museum Quarter, Naschtmarket, etc.)

The Hotel Das Tyrol is a lovely boutique hotel just off the main shopping street in Vienna, and close to all the major attractions.

The only drawback, and this is with any boutique hotel in Europe is that the elevator as small and slow,

The hotel is small and the lift is tiny, taking only 3 people at a time.

For me, the only downside was the tiny lift

You might actually prefer a lower room floor in this hotel because the elevator is very tiny and slow, and the stairs might be faster.

but they had somehow made room for a small seating area.

It has a relatively small number of rooms (which we like); the one we stayed in (studio) was beutifully appointed and they had really gone for the detail.

I was surprised to receive a room upgrade on my first visit - I mentioned a bathtub during the booking before seeing that small rooms didn't feature one, so I was given a deluxe room instead.

While our room was small for American standards, it was furnished beautifully.

In defense of Das Tyrol, we had just spent six nights in a 2,000 sq ft suite in Prague, so almost any room would have seemed small.

Only 2 criticisms:  the room was very small and wifi was slow.

On the downside, room a bit small, Air-conditioning very feeble, Breakfast expensive at 20 Euro per person so we went elsewhere.

Although the rooms are small, they are beautifully appointed.

We loved the spa, be sure to book it because it’s private.

The free private sauna is an unusual perk, and I wished I had taken advantage of it more than once.

Did we mention we enjoyed our time in the private sauna and steam?

The spa which is booked for exclusive use and complimentary was a real bonus.

The private spa was wonderful, I love the concept of being able to book it for private use.

The hotel has a private spa which is also beautifully decorated in gold and beautiful tiling / lighting, and after a long day of walking and exploring the city, their spa experience simply eases all stresses and tiredness away.

Private sauna, make sure to make a reservation.

Staff was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and was able to get me a well needed massage the day I checked in.

You have to try their spa, pure moment of relaxation.

I loved the fluffy duvet and the small spa!

Quaint rooms and a private spa to relax after a big day was just what was needed.

So, if you need one, the wonderful reception staff will arrange you one - just as they did it for us :) 

This is the only thing one should improve in this beautiful and absolutely unique hotel!

The decor throughout the hotel was unique and gives a boutique feel.

The bathroom has heated floors, a very unique toilet and is just perfect!

The owners are clearly obsessed with it, some of it very quirky, and it makes the hotel quite unique.

For you history buffs an added plus: the hotel housed US Army troops in 1945 during the partition of Vienna by Russian French British and American forces.

Breakfasts are fabulous and a great way to start the day (we looked forward to the ‘Smoothie of the day’ every morning) - the Spa looked good,

Great breakfast with buffet and orderable items included.

All was perfect : location nearby the museums and the city center, cleanliness, very polite and efficient services, such delightful breakfasts, wellcome, restaurant and bar, large and very comfortable room, private transfers from and to Wien airport, etc.

After a wonderful sleep, the morning started with the perfect breakfast with a combination of buffet and à la carte items.

Oh, and a fabulous Michelin reviewed restaurant in the hotel with one of the best breakfasts we had anywhere.

I had the best eggs Florentine for breakfast, great coffee,  and they bring a delicios selection of food to your table as well you can have the buffet.

The hotel breakfast is very good, and the hotel staff is beyond helpful and friendly!!

The breakfast was a feast, and I could not imagine anything that you could imagine to wish that they sould not have (seriously they had everything you need and beyond).

Breakfast is a la carte and tasted really good.

The staff could not be nicer or more helpful, the breakfast was amazing with little tiered plates of bread, cheese and meat each morning and cooked to order service also.

The included breakfast was also impressive, and  both the food the service were impeccable.

Breakfast was great with a lot of choice.

We got champagne and a cake and a hand written card saved myday 😁😁

They even offered us two glasses of champagne and a small birthday cake after they'd determined (from the passports, no doubt) that it was my wife's birthday!

Staff were very helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts were wonderful, with freshly cooked food (nothing hanging around being kept warm) and a huge choice: fruit, yogurts, pastries, porridge and of course champagne!

Breakfast is amazing with a glass of champagne, smoothie, freshly squeezed orange juice and numerous selections of cheeses, salamis, meats and fruits, alongside an extensive buffet with hot food made to order, all served with genuine kindness.

The royal breakfast (sans souci special) was delivered to our room in the morning by Michael which includes champagne, fresh juice, coffee, tea, cheese coldcut, pastry and bread, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, and more we felt pampered.

Went to the bar last night and received complimentary champagne for her birthday.

Particular favourites were pieces of honeycomb and champagne.

Great relaxed atmosphere as residents and locals enjoyed a leisurely breakfast/brunch, the food was delicious and the Champagne was a nice touch!

Breakfast with Louis Roederer champagne and a selection that will satisfy all, special orders available from eggs Royale to pancakes I could go on.

They organised an executive car from the airport, flowers and a bottle of champagne in my master suite on arrival.

Sipping champagne at Le Bar is a requirement here.

but quite nice for champagne ; there is a small pool and spa but we did not try it .

The champagne tasting and canapés was fantastic.

We even had a glass of champagne one morning.

The hotel has champagne tasting and boasts having 70-80 different champagnes .

We had a rather odd checkin which resulted in a complimentary glass of champagne.

Our room was beautifully appointed with everything you needed, the coffee service was stunning, the champagne breakfasts were awesome with an amazing choice and  the free drinks at the bar were very welcome.

Le Bar at the hotel boasts over 100 different champagnes and one can indulge in their champagne tasting which is quite nice!

Breakfast was excellent, with a huge choice, including Champagne if you want it.

Although we didn’t use, the hotel has a 20 meter indoor swimming pool, a spa, and a gym.

In the soussol, there were spectacular facilities for spa and fitness to come out steeled and softened alike.

The spa is one of a kind you can find in a city centre hotel, with an amazing swimming pool, perfect for a good swim.

Our room was a junior suite on the second floor, equipped with absolutely everything.

The spa is dreamy with a perfect swimming pool, steam room and two saunas - one 90 deg and one 60C.

We had a lovely room with great facilities and a great bathroom.

From the first greeting to the goodbye the service, cleanliness and building facilities were impeccable.

The spa area features two saunas, a quite room, and a fitness room.

The spa, pool and fitness room are not to be missed - exceptional.

The indoor pool is fantastic and we enjoyed the excellent spa and it's facilities.

Room: perfect , cosy , clean, good facilities.

We also made use of the spa facilities which were clean and definitely worth a visit for some relaxation in the sauna after a busy day in the city.

After our training in the fitness room and a swim in the very big swimming pool in the spa area we enjoyed three different saunas and our reserved seats in the relaxing area of the spa.
