It also happened to be absolutely freezing at night, like the window was wide open, even when it wasn’t.

The room had no air conditioning, which means that you will be sweating after you just took a shower.

No air conditioning or fan, no bathroom ventilation, no safe in the room.

The hotel has no air-conditioning in rooms and it was 33 degrees in London.

but ok. Room unfortunately had little ventilation so was ridiculously hot.

The bed is a bit small, and the mattress needs replacing.. No AC, and no fan in the room, so it was window open, luckily it faced out onto the internal courtyard so was relatively quiet.

Note that the rooms have a key that you have to leave in the slot inside the door of your room in order to keep the lights on and the fan going.

but again in the UK where do you normally get air conditioning?

The room we got was very basic, no air conditioning (but the desk did give us a fan upon request), only 1 plug socket in the room which was positioned behind the TV - so without an extension we had to choose between charging devices, using the kettle, using the fan, and using the TV.

A mini bar/fridge in the room and a fan would have been welcomed.

Rooms in desperate need of refurbishment as well as newer hair dryers, more plug sockets, and air conditioning or a fan.

Additionally, the room was too hot, there was no air/con or fan.

There is no AC, we had to sleep with open windows and- ear plugs as our room was facing the centered court and it was noisy there until late and from early in the morning.

He putting me on a wait list for one of their small poor functioning fans

Only 2 plugs in the room, so we had to decide whether our phones were getting charged overnight or we were boiling to death without the fan.

Unfortunately the hotel does not have aircondition and we stayed there during af heatwave so the roome was very hot, so there is room for improvement here.

However we were given a fan within ten minutes of asking.

but unfortunately without air conditioning.

Vishaal on reception is helpful and welcoming, the team in the breakfast room couldn’t be more friendly.

Breakfast wasn’t included and on arriving at the breakfast room we was told to buy a voucher at the reception, on enquiring at the reception we was told something completely different so gave up and sourced a local eatery and had an excellent breakfast.

Shame, because location, price, room and breakfast was ok ….

The breakfast room had a complete makeover and I was very impressed with the waiter /waitress staff who were very polite and courteous and directed me to a table and placed a reserved sign on it.

Online booking was discussed with staff (Gosia and Edita) from the breakfast room and reception.

A cleaner had started to clear our room while we were at breakfast (830am) when we hadn’t checked out and had our personal belongings still in the room.

we stayed as a group of 39 people and the rooms were okay and the buffet breakfast was acceptable.

Run efficiently and breakfast room was so well organised considering how large the hotel was.

Another advantage this room puts you in a much quieter breakfast room, the other was very busy.

Nothing is too much trouble especially the staff in the breakfast room and dining room.

This is much better than using the normal breakfast rooms.

We had ordered English breakfast and were directed to the bar where we found a beautifully laid out breakfast room with very nice and efficient staff.

There are two breakfast rooms and mine was the bar one where the fry up was included in the price.

The staff in the breakfast room are so polite and helpful and supplied anything I asked for  quickly and with good humour.

The breakfast room can't cope and there were queues every morning out the door.

This was supposed to be the 'best' dining room and the breakfast was very good

We had breakfast in the meeting room which was nicer than the other breakfast room.

The hotel holds breakfasts in two different rooms -i think that it all depends on the type of booking.

The breakfast had a good selection and was upgraded to use the meeting room restaurant, which wasn't so busy as the other breakfast room.

The hotel had a fantastic location, the tube station, and bus station are right next day and Oxford street is less than a 10-minute work.

Location is very, very good, near the underground and bus station.

Its not a bas hotel at all , either it has a very good strategic location and near a bus station .

However the hotel is situated in the Euston District so is close to tube station and bus station.

Russel Square Tube Station was 1 minute walk from there (really convenient), the bus station was just outside the hotel, there was a mini-market within range.

We were there for the first time.Staff is really nice and they do everithing to make you feel welcomed.Hotel is near  everithing.It is clean,nice staff -I racomend it to everyone.Underground is near,bus station also.You want be lost.The foof that they serve for breakfast is good.If You pay 5 £ on breakfast you can try their originally english brekfast.

The room that I had in the North tower was quite large, for London standards, and was very clean and looked recently refurbished.

Although we hardly spent any time in the hotel, we found our room to be surprisingly spacious, clean and modern.

I stayed for three nights at Royal National Hotel, and all I can say is that the room was very comfortable and clean; lots of choices at breakfast and, most of all, excellent staff!

It's clean , Tidy, Rooms and Fresh , Bedding was Clean along with the room.

I spent two weeks in this hotel and I have to say that the location and cleanliness are excellent.

but at the desk they did their best to get me a clean and confortable room to leave the lodge and enjoy London.

Stayed a week at the Royal National Hotel, primarily because its location in Bloomsbury, which I knew was close to everything.

The hotel has a great location in central London and an excellent connection to Heathrow airport via Tube  (just a few minute's walk from Russell Square tube station, where you can take the Piccadilly line to Heathrow Terminals) and these were the most important factors when I was choosing a hotel.

but the location is the best thing it has the rest could be improved.

Hotel location is excellent, only a 6 minute walk from Euston where we’d traveled from and only 2 minutes to Russell Square tube.

The location is also perfect for those who wish to be in central  London close to everything.

The location is brilliant as it’s only one stop to kingscross and a couple of stops to the west end so it was perfect for us.

The bar downstairs was a bit noisy at night if you are an early sleeper.

Firstly, the hotel is huge and has its own bars and restaurants outside, so it is noisy all night.

but the noise (room 3086) City Sleeper side! It seemed like the window wouldn’t close tightly and the street noise was bothersome ( they need to fix that!)

On Saturday morning we were rudely woken up with the sound of drilling, hammering as if the walls were caving in.

Hotel was average incredibly noisy from the construction work and buses idling 24/7 outside, breakfast was middling

The main issue is the noise level from the street.

There was a really loud and consistent drilling from around 8am the following morning which sounded like construction work.

We had to have the windows open, our room overlooked the main street so traffic noise was ever-present (although after a while it became like white noise)

After checking in you head up to your room, exiting the lift you are faced with a huge long corridor, ours was definitely showing signs of wear and tear.

You may feel vehicular noise during night.

You could hear everyone who checked in and out of the hotel.

but then all the street noises kept us awake.

The bed is on wheels and creaks, so if you turn over it makes a loud noise and you end up rolling further down the room.

We had room facing the Woburn Place street, so it was pretty noisy, especially if it is hot and you need to keep your window open.

I was finally the moved to another room - 2 hrs from arrival to getting an acceptable room (but the room is still really noisy & no air-con,

Very hot in the room, no air conditioning Overlooked a very noisy courtyard of a pub/bar which was noisy until gone midnight with drinkers.

The only thing we didn’t like is a restaurant downstairs that  was noisy part of the night.

Comfortable hotel in a lively area close to Russell Square and Univ of London/SOAS.

Is huge and well placed 150 m from Russell Square tube station.

As expected, the location was great, near the Russell Square tube station and a few blocks from the British Museum.

Location is perfect, 10 minutes walk to st pancreas/kings cross, 5 to Euston, few minutes to Russell Square tube.

I stayed at this hotel 4 years ago in the North Tower and chose it again for it's great location at Russell Square - a direct tube ride from Heathrow on the Piccadilly Line.

Other than than, a lovely hotel with very close tube station- Russell Square.

The bus stop is outside or just round the corner at Russell Square.

The location is good, 5 minute walk to Russell Square Tube Station, there's the 'London Pub' next to the Hotel (more a bar than a pub).

Two good breakfasts at caffe tropea in Russell Square  and Riding House Bloomsbury which is in the nearby Brunswick Centre.

The hotel is a 3 minute walk from Russell Square Station, so very easy to get to and also access areas such as Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park and all the other areas that have tourist attractions.

Close to Russell Square Tube, 5 minute walk, on a bus route.

Location was really great, only 5 minutes to Russell Square tube station (Picadilly line) direct to the SOHO area with few stops.

The nearest tube stations were Russell Square which was a 3 minute walk or Euston.

It is walking distance from Euston Station, just round the corner from Russell Square underground and walking distance to much of central London.

Vishaal at the front desk was extremely helpful and is great ambassador for City Sleeper.

Breakfast in The City Sleeper Restaurant was more than plentiful.

I have spent 3 weeks at The City Sleeper and my stay has been excellent.

Firstly this place is two separate Hotels masquerading as one, the nice pictures they post are 'City Sleeper' because the room you actually get at 'Royal National' is very different from the top pictures.

One plus to the room- we were in the city sleeper which was nice to have a dedicated are with only residents allowed in.

This was our 2nd stay in the City Sleeper and I must say, it's worth the money.

So many positives about the City Sleeper.

We had a city sleeper room which was spotless and comfortable.

I stayed in the "city sleeper" area and it was, of all the times I stayed at this hotel, the best!

Fortunately a single sleeper room was available.

After reading reviews, we've booked City Sleeper rooms and they are modern an clean.

though we were about an hour early, they rapidly checked us in and gave us a complimentary upgrade to a City Sleeper room.

The staff were all very helpful, lovely lady on the front desk and the guy on the door also stored our cases while we went out for the day,

When I did this, I looked back and noticed a member of staff checking in the people behind me.

Also I would like to thank Wency and Don for a very friendly attitude who never failed to assist us in every way possible.

Staff professional and helpful , and allowed to check in early.

They were super courteous and extremely professional .

The receptionist (Zubaur) was extremely helpful, finding me a quiet room, higher up and before check in.

Really loved this hotel, great value for money and friendly reception staff.

Hotel main reception was clean spacious with an on site mini shop selling , Snacks, Beers, Wines ,ECT which are well and truly fairly priced.

What a wonderful young man, he couldn't have been more helpful, totally professional yet friendly, we knew from then on that our stay at the Royal National would be OK. Andrei is the sort of person every establishment should have dealing with the public, he restores your faith in customer service.

My stay was great, as usual (am a regular guest), great breakfast and friendly and helpful staff.

He was very helpful with everything from connecting Wi-Fi to helping us out with getting around the city.

This hotel was a fantastic location just minutes from the tube stop with lots of restaurants in the area and very close to the British Museum.

A big hotel conveniently located near Russell Sq, close to Euston Station, UCL and the British Museum.

The hotel is 10 minutes walking distance from the British museum and close by to the theatres ( we watched Cinderella)and Euston station .

Location couldn't be better, tube stop close by and round the corner from The British Museum.

I always say near Russel Square as it is very convenient to reach central London (and the British Museum) and Euston and King's Cross stations (easy access to my family's homes).

This is so close to everything (especially the British Museum) and the Russell Square Tube station.

In the evening the parties go on til the early hours, even with the windows closed and the tv on loud it doesn’t drown the sound of the party goers out.

The windows are old and didnt close properly, it doesnt matter in summer

This was a little too loud as we had our five year old and did wake me up ass our window was open and we were unable to close it as it would have been too warm in the room.

We had to keep the window open at night to get it a wee bit less hot,

No possibility to open the window for getting fresh air from the outside during the night.

but the windows were so BAD that it sounded like it was fully open all night!!

The window, which could only be opened a crack, was unfortunately not able to keep the noise out even when closed.

Closing the window made the temp immediately go up.

but with no air con and having to open the window it was very noisy, some of our friends did have quieter rooms so it’s luck of the draw.

No air conditioning, the window hardly opened, the shower drain was very slow and the shower filled with water, the room lacked decor.

on main road windows and walls paper thin no chance of sleep luckily we had brought earplugs.

The aircon was powerful which was fantastic as our room was a ground floor room backing onto a loud fan so the windows were shut.

Bathroom window was fixed, no working fan.

Heating panel broken and no room exchange offered.

heating wasn't on when we got there and took nearly 2 hours to warm the room.

The paintwork was grubby and tired and the fixtures and fittings in need of upgrading with the wooden shelving unit and side table in poor condition.

The main issue we had was with a very cold room where the ac heating didn’t work well and was noisy.

Had an issue with a damp / musty smell in the room and a noisy air con / heating unit.

The only thing was the bathroom did get very steamed up after a shower as no extractor fan.

.please see photo attached, room 421 very noisy woken up at 6am with constant machinery possibly air conditioning in other rooms, very dark room please see view out window in photo attached, also the shower which took 5-10 mins to heat up then reached a temp so hot and you could not turn the temperature down.

We were given room 115 and the view from the room was terrible, and the aircon was poor, we had a meal in the bar just once and that was not very nice we complained

The only negative is the sporadically humming from the air conditioning unit, they did offer to move us to a new room

The only thing missing was a mini fridge in the room, it was incredibly hot the days we stayed (air con was a blessing) and a fridge would have been a good send!!

I notice other 'good reviews' and would guess it depends on were you stay in the hotel.Get the idea that only part of the hotel has been renovated .Looks like there is a good part and the other part(cold room , condensation and dodgy irons).Don't tend to do negative reviews(mainly I research well and pick good options)

Bus station just in front of the hotel and underground station at 10 min. walk.

We needed to go to Victoria for one night at Apollo Theatre and the No 38 bus was right outside door, 20 mins and a fab ride through the Christmas lights plus bus station right next to theatres so was quick ride back.

Very good location for walking to Covent Garden, etc and if you don’t want to then there is a bus station just outside.

The room was spotless and very quiet, the beds were so comfortable.
