It was my big birthday this year and I knew I had to spend it at the Corinthia London.

We visited the hotel for three nights as a treat for my husband’s 50th birthday.

Our sons kindly bought us a nights stay and lunch in Kerridges Bar & Grill for our birthdays last year

Visited for my birthday and absolutely absolutely loved this hotel.

My friend and I decided to have a late birthday celebration here and went for an afternoon tea.

My friend had one of the big 0 birthdays in August so I booked the Corinthia for afternoon tea.We thought the atmosphere was lovely, very calm, beautiful decor especially the chandelier, the meaning of the red crystal was explained to us.

I booked for a special birthday occasion for one night I wasn’t aware of this until later in the evening when returning to my room from a theatre trip and having drinks in the hotel bar.

Played Happy birthday and some of our favourite tunes on request.

The staff were very friendly, we went for a birthday and they had left us a birthday cake in the room which was lovely.

I celebrated my belated 35th birthday and I was amazed by the level and quality of service I received.

I was so happy to be back to The Corinthia to celebrate my 50th birthday.

Had the best weekend staying at The Corinthia with friends for my birthday.

It was my husbands birthday and they couldn’t do enough for us, the attention to detail was perfect.

As it was my birthday and anniversary treat, made us feel extra special and put cakes in a box to take with us.

This was a belated birthday treat, champagne afternoon tea.

We stayed on the London’s Calling Package for my 30th Birthday.

It was my partners birthday and we had free champagne in our room with a hand written note.

Champagne was chilled perfectly and the flutes were exquisite.

Upon arrival, there was a bottle of champagne, a nice note welcoming us back, and snacks.

The hotel had also kindly left a complimentary small bottle of champagne and card for him which added to the surprise.

amazing, full of flavour, so well prepared especially the sandwiches which were room temperature not cold from a fridge and curled at the edges, the scones were warm and the cakes were works of art.As we were being served champagne I mentioned we were there for my friends birthday treat and before we had finished eating a small birthday cake with candle appeared, a lovely surprise.

A complimentary birthday cake and a bottle of Champagne on ice were awaiting us on check in.

Champagne, Sandwiches, Scones and Cake what more could you want.

We had the "London Calling" package that included valet parking, early check-in, late check-out, champagne in the room, upgraded room, spa access, breakfast and £100 hotel credit.

Our offer included breakfast, restaurant credit, a bottle of champagne in our room, early check in, late check out and room upgrade if available.

I was kindly gifted a gift voucher for a champagne afternoon tea for my 30th last year and due to Covid only got to go today.

They have caviar and champagne available.

We had early check in, a free upgrade, champagne in the room with a lovely birthday cake, breakfast and a late check out the next day up to 4pm.

A manager apologised and offered a free glass of champagne should we ever come back??

We were allowed to drive and have the car valet parked for free, get a room upgrade for free, have a bottle of champagne in the room gratis, arrive at 10am and leave at 4pm.

He arranged an excellent bottle of Champagne some food and a visit from the Cigar sommelier.

We stayed on the London calling deal which I would highly recommend, free room upgrade, bottle of champagne in the room and a £100 credit against the spa, kerridges or bar bill!

Our room was upgraded and we had a lovely bottle of champagne waiting on ice as we arrived, the room was spacious and the bathroom full of Espa goodies.

All our needs were met, and the London Calling was absolutely a great offer - champagne , early Check-in and late checkout.

So, the good things first: Location is very convenient for sightseeing with Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, SoHo and the river Thames just outside the hotel, not so convenient if you want to go shopping in Mayfair or Knightsbridge; building from the outside is grand, so is the lobby area.

Loved this hotel's location close to Trafalgar and the National Gallery as well as the theatres and Somerset House.

The hotel is located in Central London; steps from Big Ben and the Houses or Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Thames River, London Eye, Cleopatra's Needle, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, etc.

Perfect location to walk to attractions such as Westminster Abbey, National Gallery, Buckingham palace, and across the bridge to Southbank with attractions such as Shakespeare's Globe and the Tate museum.

Great location for National Gallery, Chinatown, Lego Store Leceister Square, Scotland Yard,  Covent Garden & Big Ben.

On the Northern side you will find Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, the theatre district, China Town, Covent Garden, the Opera House, the Strand and its many buses allowing you to go practically everywhere.

And the central location means that many of the key tourist sites were within comfortable walking distance (e.g., Churchill War Rooms, Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the National Gallery and the Globe Theater).

You are basically a street away from Trafalgar Square so you have the National Gallery, endless great restaurants, and tons of theaters.

I'm no longer accepting Covid and lockdowns as an excuse for poor value for money.

Upon detailing this to reception on checkout, nothing offered in apology or suggestion that the service would not persist to be as poor going forwards (we are perhaps too polite, I've worked in service role as a teen, so never give them a hard time,

This was disappointing as the service was poor.

The presentation lacked originality and the quality of the sandwiches and scones was surprisingly poor.

This is very poor for a hotel of this standard.

The quality of sleep was also poor, with the duvet being too small for the cover.

Also in room movie selection poor and very expensive.

but I think enough said , I’ve stayed in many hotels across the world and this has and is the most consistently poor breakfast service I’ve experienced.

But I was surprised that despite my loyalty, I got a very poor room and had to complain to the manager.

In spite of this very poor decision  made by the General Manager.

though rather lacking compared to Claridges, Ritz and others in zone one radius, despite being of a price.

Im sure Tiffany, paid a fortune for after noon tea.

The bill was also extortionate and £13 was added  for no reason.

Although we are paying 3x what we paid at the Savoy, I much prefer the Savoy!

There are many other hotels in London of a similar standard to this hotel & I do think the Corinthia could do a little better in certain areas particularly due to the price of it.

Don’t know how much it cost as it was given to us as a gift,

though should be a gimme at the costs per room rate.

This time, we paid for a regular deluxe suite.

Probably one of the 'poshest' - and most expensive - afternoon teas I've had in a 5 star London hotel.

For the price point,  the small mistakes and things missing, are unnecessary.

however, the amount you pay we expected a little more.

It is just not up to the standard for the rates it charges and is somewhat off the pace of the top hotels in London.

The only extra cost would be for any treatments you decide to book.

For a 5 star hotel, we were also surprised that there was no doormen to greet us daily at the entrance and for the hefty price tag, hoped for a more personalised experience given the special occasion (just a sad dry piece of cake left on the table on our wedding night).

Fortunate to get a double upgrade on the room due to low occupancy rates - to one of the biggest suites - exquisite!

I expect more from an expensive, well known establishment.

The food in The Northall restaurant was delicious, the rooms were breathtaking and the spa very relaxing.

Finally, we spent time relaxing in the spa.

We enjoyed the spa as well (I have reviewed this previously).

To end on a positive note, I have to say that the spa was outstanding.

I went for a massage treatment after hearing some friends  speaking very highly of the service.

The spa is the best hotel spa in London - pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam and more.

We went to the spa in the afternoon which was really good .

The staff are so lovely, the service is exceptional and the rooms, restaurants and spa are out of this world.

The spa is just what you need after a busy day shopping and one of the best amongst the London hotels.

The rooms are first class and the spa is breathtaking!

The spa is luxurious and the gym is very well equipped.

You rely don't need to leave the Hotel and the Spa facilities, restaurant options and the rooms themselves mean you can lock yourself away in total privacy for the duration of your stay.

The cleanliness is 10/10 as well as comfort (beds/pillows are dreamy) 

The spa is a must visit and is definitely the best one we have been to in the U.K.  
We have tried a few different treatments and they are all worth the price.

the spa was amazing we felt so relaxed afterwards.

The highlight of the visit was the Therabody Full Body Experience, a deep tissue massage using the Theragun device for maximum effect.

We spent again time in our favourite spa in London ,never regret.Clean and neat place to chill.Fall on sleep at the marble beds.

The Savoy sorted parking out for us and checked to see if we knew about congestion charges etc .

When we arrived at the hotel the staff did actually point out the extras that come with fine hotels via Amex.

Next time I will make sure what rooms they will give to me before I check in.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we had an incredible stay.

From the moment we arrived we were looked after.

From check in, the room, afternoon tea, breakfast, attention to detail was superb.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home.

From collection at St Pancras Station to arrival, check in , table reservations,  staff go over and beyond , treated like family and they are so courteous and assist any way they can.

A special mention for Rob, the doorman, his greeting upon arrival was the catalyst of how our weekend experience was to be - Brilliant!

From checking in to leaving the whole visit was second to none and we loved every minute of it ,
Staff were great and totally professional in every aspect of doing there job!

From the valet parking on arrival to leaving 24 hours later we we stunned by everything.

At 7.30 we had a booking in the River Restaurant, the first table we were offered was in the middle of the room, I asked if we could sit by the window, the lady checked and said we could.

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful.

It seems from conversations with our friends that the champagne arrived in their room some time while they were having dinner and it was waiting for them on their return.

When we arrived, there was a handwritten note and a plate of pastries and fruits waiting for us, which made us feel welcome after an arduous journey.

We went for our night and I just want to say it was absolutely fabulous from the minute we arrived to the minute we left.

Within minutes of my arrival, some of the senior staff were already calling me by my name.

From our arrival to departure we had an absolutely amazing experience.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home.

On arrival we were so warmly greeted, we had complimentary champagne, our room was amazing, and spotless!

Had afternoon tea at the Savoy for my birthday with my mum.

We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and we’re surprised with a small birthday cake and card signed by the staff.

The General Manager responded to my complaint on Trip Advisor and we stayed again on the occasion of my wife's birthday.

What a experience, treated my wife and daughter to afternoon as part of my wife’s birthday present , the staff were absolutely brilliant and nothing was to much trouble.

Chelsea went above and beyond when she found out we were celebrating my partners birthday, by bringing out a piece of cake with a candle in, also written in chocolate around the plate was happy birthday, so special and a wonderful touch.

At the end of our stay whilst we were waiting to catch our train home, we had a wonderful conversation with Debra (Patterson) allowing both of us to express our sincere thanks to the staff and the Savoy for for making my wife's birthday a truly wonderful weekend to remember and one to cherish for the rest of our lives.

My sisters met us for lunch at The Savoy Grill on my birthday and Sean went above and beyond for us all - so many times that I lost count.

Exactly what I would have expected and more, this was a gift for my wife and mother for special birthdays, afternoon tea in the Thames Foyer, nothing was any trouble and in fact with my wife being in a wheelchair the staff were exceptional especially Sean Davoren.

A family friend recently booked two nights, three rooms at the Savoy for a number of special birthdays.

We had an absolutely fantastic afternoon enjoying tea for a friend’s 60th birthday.

Back last year we tried to book the savoy with one of their vouchers my husband gave me for my birthday .

This was until we stayed at The Savoy for my wife’s birthday party in May.

We visited the Savoy for a 1 night stay to celebrate my 30th birthday.

The turndown service in our room was a wonderful surprise as were the white chocolate/victoria sponge cakes left as a birthday treat.

My partner took me here for Afternoon Tea for my birthday, to sum up, absolutely outstanding, 10/10, service was faultless, Amazing Teas & Cakes, ( Champagne )  Beautiful setting.

Our Art Deco room was lovely & my birthday cake & balloons, plus the handwritten note, were a lovely touch.

We then finally received our hot drinks (that were cold), and a crack in my teapot.

The breakfast can only be described as disgraceful, cold sloppy scrambled egg, no other choices, greasy half cooked bacon and most things barely warm and trying to get orange juice or economy bread toast we lost the will to live.

We found the staff to be cold and unwelcoming and disinterested in any residents.

Secondly the baked beans for my breakfast were cold.

(not very covid friendly) the eggs were cold on the egg Benedict,( no surprise as they had been on a journey ) we had to ask twice before we received coffee and we’re not offered any refills!

My wife and I had a few areas that we thought should be improved, for example on the first day - our toast and pancakes were cold and we gave the feedback straight away - perfect for remainder of stay.

Being able to dine outside only we visited this restaurant on a cold May evening.

We wanted to move tables as we were a bit cold and she accommodated our request without issue.

We ordered room service with which took well over an hour and arrived cold.

Toast was cold and cardboardy, bacon was fatty and tough and the a la carte doesn’t work with delays to get the attention of the waiter who seemed absent a lot of the time.

The breakfast was a little disappointing (including really bad cold coffee) and the American cocktail bar far too loud, aggressive and unpleasant in the evening.

My husband had pork chops and you cold cut them  with a fork.

Somehow it was warm without being too warm or too cold.

Service in the bar was swift and was accompanied by 'nibbles
Breakfast had a varied selection of both cold and hot food as one would expect and this was of a high standard.

Small gym, few machines, disappointing breakfast, bad timing ( they always took an eternity so serve the plate and the latte or capuccino was in the end cold and the NEVER offered a new one) .

The juices were kept cold in chiller containers and the coffee was hot.

Opened in 1889, taken from Google. So here is the scoop, it's fabulous, in a tawny area of the theatre district, beautiful parks, a quick walk to the National Gallery, near public transportation, and by the way, it has a theatre, currently playing Dolly Parton's, "Nine to Five."

Close to main attractions such as Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, British Museum and Theaters.

Whilst the other famous London hotels sit mainly to the west, the Savoy is literally next door to London’s Theatre land; a five minute walk from Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, the Thames, Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House; a ten minute walk from Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and then onto Regent Street or St James’ Park and onto the Mall towards Buckingham Palace.

but in a relaxed and quieter environment, and a short walk to the National Gallery and Covent Garden.

Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, and National Portrait Gallery are about eight minutes on foot.

Still it was close to some of the main attractions, such as the National Gallery, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, etc.

Things were done almost before you had finished asking.The hotel is situated in a prime position on The Strand - 10 minute walk or less, to Trafalgar Square and National Gallery.

The location is quite convenient to the National Gallery and Portrait Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, Courtauld Gallery, Charing Cross Station and two Underground lines.

though they a starting to price themselves silly.

I did pay let’s just say ALOT for two rooms.

but we saw people in there with shorts and flip-flops, a complete 'no-no' for a restaurant charging those prices and the reputation it carries.

but we have stayed at multiple places where you pay for "luxury service" and do not receive it.

On booking in we were told we had been upgraded from a DeLuxe King to a Junior Suite at no extra cost.

The ‘interim’ billing shown on your TV are very confusing and overcomplicated (breakfast supplements are deleted at check-out if you have an inclusive rate; the accommodation additions are an optional gratuity for non-restaurant/bar staff).

I know you might say you pay for the experience

Only slight negative was the final cost of having all meals at the hotel, very pricey;

At the end of our stay, when we were presented with the bill, we found a charge of £29.60 per night added to it - when I queried it, I was told it was a service charge to pay cleaners, porters etc and I could have it taken off if I liked, to which I replied, 'I would like!'

The room we paid for was very disappointing,it even overlooked on to air-conditioning units on the roof outside, we did want to spend our stay in the room to rest catch up and chill-out

Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, I know you pay a premium for a hotel of this standard

This is the best massage I’ve ever had!

Pool was lovely with steam room and sauna.

Though I arrived a bit earlier than my check-in, I was very pleased to be able to enjoy the hotel's wonderful pool and spa while I waited for my room to be ready.

I hate sealed hotel rooms, the room had everything we needed, a trip to the pool and steam room was a relaxing hour before we went out.

Went into the spa and pool, which was lovely also.

We stayed for drinks, dinner, swimming, spa, breakfast - didn't leave at all until check out!

We both had Gucci relaxing massages the following morning and a full savoy breakfast in our suite.

The spa and pool were immaculate, and our suite was more than amazing with incredible views of the Thames River.

We were lucky enough to have the beautiful pool to ourselves & has the best spa facilities I've experienced across the world.

The view was incredible of the London landmarks, service was amazing and the spa and the massage was incredible!!

We enjoyed using the pool and the sauna and steam facilities.

We used the spa facilities and again everything was impeccable, from Nelline who made our booking to our therapists Summer and Zara everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating.

Absolutley spectacular, from the service to food, spa and suite, I cannot imagine a more beautiful hotel experience.

The room was great and we really enjoyed using the spa area and pool which was all kept immaculate.

They didn’t explain that it had been outsourced to “secret spa” who turned up to our room asking where we’d heard about them?!

We utilised the gym and spa in the afternoon to relax and booked into the Beaufort bar in the evening for drinks.

Fitness centre provided a massage to die for as well.

This was my favourite experience of any hotel stay.

Over and above anything we have ever experienced any where else before .

One of the best afternoon tea experiences.

We were very well looked after, we tasted some amazing cocktails and also experienced the amazing way that the staff make them, so professional.

Seeing is believing,  its the fabulous staff and the history that makes this the best hotel in London , you won't stop anywhere else once you have experienced the 'Savoy' and it's grandeur!

It is a special place with excellent hospitality, restaurants and accommodating staff.

To complete our experience we were lucky enough to meet Sean as we were checking out, just as entertaining and charming as portrayed on TV.

Exceptional experience from start to end.

Yes, this was a truly a short yet truly restorative stay and experience.

A truly 5 star ⭐️ experience all the way!
