It's a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location---a five minute walk to either Buckingham Palace or Westminster Abbey.

Buckingham Palace is at the end of the street, so royalty are neighbors.

The location is perfect, close to Buckingham Palace and Westminster.

That said, its very well located with the underground being a stones throw from the property, even the bus is a 5 minutes walk, so connectivity is sorted, the Buckingham Palace is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, so is the St. James Park, very touristy

I had a very memorable stay at this hotel as it is just 6 minutes walk from the Buckingham palace beautifully decorated and maintained and the junior suites are a very good option for a family of 3 to stay good food very authentic Indian food  good amiebience and the staff is very polite and helpful

It's walking distance from the Buckingham palace and very close to all the important attractions in London.

A great location (walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Westminster and St. James' Park).

Let’s start with the location, which is nothing short of perfect- Close to everywhere you want to visit including Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, The Eye, Hyde Park, Mayfair, and Buckingham Palace!

Well located, just few steps from Buckingham Palace and Saint James Park underground station.

The hotel is centrally located close to St James & Victoria Stations and Buckingham Palace.

It was also in a great location, close walking distance to the Buckingham Palace, and also near to Big Ben.

It's in a great location - literally a block from Buckingham Palace, and the breakfast (included in my rate) was really good.

The location was ideal, 5-10 min walk from Victoria station/underground and 5 min walk to Buckingham Palace.

Comfortable location, close to the Buckingham Palace and that ST. James Park.

The hotel is old and requires further care and update to the hallways furniture, rooms and specially bathrooms.

but can always smell food in corridors which is a put off
When we checked in room pillows were not put right on bed .The breakfast service needs to be improved on the staff are not trained well and orders take ages to come .

Typical of English hotels in old buildings, one had to walk through rather complicated corridors to reach the room.

Refusing to go to reception dressed in a bath robe, we called again, and after a total of about 15 minutes of waiting in the hallway, a gentleman arrived and unlocked the doors for us.

Dead flowers were left on the table in the hallway for days.

The hallway walls and carpet are beat up, and the furniture is cheap and damaged in the rooms.

Room 317 were up until 3 am sorting the shopping out throwing boxes on to the corridor, speaking really loud banging the door open & shut all night..

Spa ridiculously busy and would not adopt a booking system 

Premier rooms far away from reception - a gazillion maze-like corridors to follow.

If I had to nitpick I’d say that the cocktails were a little expensive, and that the corridors leading to the rooms looked slightly shabbier than the lobby and the rooms themselves.

No problems with noise from the corridors or outside, although there must be an Underground line right below the hotel, as you could hear the sound and vibration of trains,

however the odd layout of the room saw the 2 chairs in a small nook, immediately facing a wall at the end of a small corridor.

but sadly the carpets in the hallway outside mye room, and in the room, were old, dirty and smelly.

Hotel was extremely expensive considering the old, unpainted rooms, hallways that smelled like backed up sewers.

however had to go via the courtyard as the internal corridors were a labyrinth.

Our “classic” room was small, in need of redecoration and down a nasty corridor.

Strange smell in the hallway on my floor (6th floor).

The location is 10 / 10; Check in experience was 6/10; Room would be 7/10; breakfast would be 9/10.

While the location is excellent and the hotel is clean and the staff friendly, the beds are the worst I have ever encountered.

We like the location and have been very satisfied with our room and any dealings we have had with staff.

We walked almost exclusively which says volumes about the location and many of the walks are through the parks.

I hope that we will have the opportunity to stay at this lovely establishment again in the future and can’t say enough great things about the ambience, stellar service, and fantastic location of St. James Court!

The location can’t be beat; the service is exceptional.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable.

We had split our stay in London with our family to be in two different locations for ease of getting around with two small boys (ages 3 & 4).

From the hotel's location we were in walking distance to Buckingham Palace, two tube locations, and generally able to walk to and from almost every location we visited; Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, British Museum, Natural History Museum, National Gallery, Sky Garden, Trafalgar Square.

After a "brilliant" day observing the practice Trooping the Colour and visiting the National Gallery we were ready for an early bed and could have eaten dinner in,

It would also have been helpful had the person taking the booking on the phone  warned us about the diversion and had a map of such which the Hotel could have emailed us at the time of booking.

We in fact ended up having to call to get it sent up several hours later, at which point we were already too tired.

Had to call out the maintenance team because none of my sockets, TV etc would work, they came about 2 hours later when i was getting into bed.

Then when someone responds, I sometimes get an irate person irritated why I was calling that number when I only dialed the shortcut from your phone. 4.

The concierge was terrible - he didn't call me back multiple times on dinner reservations.

There were many occasions where our room was not made up for the entire day and we had to call up the housekeeping at 11 in the night when we returned to our hotel asking to clean up the room and their response used to be sorry sir the housekeeping staff has left for the day.

v. After repeated calls to the front desk to request for the duty manager she came up 1.5 hours from my first request, and did try to be helpful.

We received a call back to our colleague’s room to say that there was no one available to help us.

The clientele spoiled it (watching Loud social media videos on mobiles while using the relaxation loungers).

While in London, we had two mishaps - my daughter’s IPhone was stolen, and I fell on the sidewalk and sustained some injuries.

Her manner was abrupt and she also charged me twice for some local calls.

And when we asked to talk to the manager to explain this brilliant policy, we were ignored and they did not call back.

After calling up they said this was normal practice and the security deposit will be refunded.

We did have a few hiccups in being unable to reach housekeeping reception or room service from the room phone

In our family stay at 10 pm in the night maintenance technician rang the bell and came in to fix a toilet leak in another room below our room.

We checked in and there was nothing there so I had to call and ask- the reception staff didn’t know about it

We managed to log on via our mobile phone

However, we did face some problems with my birthday cake even after quite a few calls and emails before reaching there

Booked on telephone requesting quiet area due to medical condition related to hypersensitivity to noida d was guaranteed this Spoke with advanced booking on 3 occasions to clarify and they stated I would have quiet area overlooking the courtyard Neither of these promises materialised sadly Paid over £1000 and was disgusted at the untruths they told me Shocking experience to say the least

I used the sauna and spa which were fabulous.

The outdoor courtyard with fountain is a little haven of tranquility in central London and we were even offered some complimentary services in the Spa.

The young Jiva Spa team (Sri Kumar and Jindoo) are cheerful and welcoming.

I wish we had more time here to explore the lavish spa, enjoy high tea, and other amenities that the TAJ has to offer,

Absolutely lovely courtyard where meals were served in good weather (which it was while we were there) and a wonderful spa.

The hotel is very modern and also has a lovely spa.

On Friday morning, we leave after breakfast for a walk around London and come back to the hotel at 2PM as we have Spa treatments booked for 3:15PM.

The spa was relaxing, a fabulous place to chill before breakfast.

The hotel has a beautiful spa and we had an amazing experience at the hotel.

Oh, and lots of Spa and Wellness shindigs

We also visited the spa and had treatments which were great.

The hotel also has a jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna services (included in the price of the room).

We went to use the Spa and when stepping into the pool, he found the edge of the step is a slippery as ice, and fell into the pool.

We enjoyed room service, requested items and spent time in the Jiva spa, we have nothing

Do try out the spa in the hotel, which offers excellent treatments.

They made us feel as valued, and as important as anyone who may walk in the door.

Our luxury stay started the moment we walked into the stunning lobby and everything and everyone about this hotel just continued to impress.

It was convenient to all the places we had plans to visit and could walk everywhere.

We were able to walk to the changing of the guard and didn’t need to fight traffic!

Eventually I parked up nearby and walked to the Hotel & met up with the X Keys Concierge.

I did morning runs in St. James park, and we were able to walk to almost anywhere in London.

Victoria Station is also just a 10-minute walk away (from there you can take a train to Gatwick).

I was able to walk everywhere (15 mins to Big Ben, 5 mins to Buck House, 40 mins to Oxford street etc….).

You are five minute walk to the tube stop.

And, in 2 mins, you can walk up to Buckingham Palace.

Mega close to Buck Pal, (3 min walk) where I had a ticket for the Jubilee Party In The Palace.

The location is great, just a 5 minute walk from Buckingham Palace, Westminster and the royal parks.

We had to upgrade which they charged 200 pound for.

The hotel charged us for allegedly taking their shower gel when there was none in our room in the first place, couple days later £40 was charged to my debit card and when asking why I had been charged, they told me I had taken their shower gel.

And yes, the prices published on the website are lower than they charged me.

After sorting through the documents we were not shown to own room and also given a dud key card which took about 20 minutes to sort out.

The staff was so rude to guests and the hotel keeps charging so much extra money for additional cleaning and such and they don’t even clean the room!

She said that we had asked for them in which I replied no we never did on which she made a quick phone call In her language ,then returned to look at me then deposited the £50 back onto my card on which we left with a good bye and walk up the road.

Plus, they charge you £4.00 for delivering your room service food to the room!

More like they cottoned on to the fact they could charge late bookers double for the room rate I was quoted.

I went to talk to the manager and she treated me with indifference and said she couldn't stay at the hotel, and she refused to cancel my application she refused to do the cancellation to charge me fees the fault of not having rooms available was just the hotel.

Firstly they offer executive rooms, with desks and plenty of charging plug space, when I arrived at my room I couldn't believe the size of it, the beautiful high ceilings with floor-length windows made the room very airy and breathable, something that's missing in central London hotels.

but without charge and without being coerced.

No plug sockets near the bed, so if using a phone as an alarm and it needs charging, you’re stuck. .

but instead of using that they took an ADDITIONAL £122 OFF MY CARD.

This is totally unfair and unacceptable as your parking charges state it is £15 for OVER NIGHT parking.

but also one guest who was asking to be refunded for his stay – I`m guessing he also didn’t have the greatest experience

•	The lady behind the counter, “checking us out”, was extremely rude (no “how was your stay?”, no “thank you for staying with us”, no “please”, no “thank you), simply asking for my credit card and pin.

But there are a lot of stickers and notices - from wood effect stickers by the front door, to mosaic-effect stickers on the floor tiles.

The double doors have been blocked off so forget it if you are disabled.

If you have a ground floor room near the entrance (01) be prepared to be woken in the early hours (2.30am) each morning by staff standing outside the front door on the phone loudly.

but shockingly it had an adjoining door to the room next door.

When I arrived I put my breakfast order on the door to be picked up (that was around 3.00pm) - next day I noticed it was late - when I checked the door it hadn't been picked up - called the receptionst who sent someone to pick it up and

The dining chairs were very flimsy and the minibar area was missing a door.

Some form of access control is needed, like a door perhaps, operated by your room key.

As the apartment was in a residential block, we had to wait for the concierge to open the main door, and he wasn’t always there.

A minor niggle - some doors to service rooms and cupboards were left wide open, which takes the edge off the premium feel and is a simple thing to put right.

The couch equally looked like someone had slept over

•	We mentioned this to the gentleman at the reception (again, no one else was to be seen in the lobby or by the reception), who was kind enough to check us into a room next door to our initial one.

On the night the door staff had the guest list,

One of their cleaners left refuse bags by the spa - ruining the experience
Many if not all the staff were distant and unfriendly
No phone access to reception, had to come all the way downstairs each time we had a request
Awful Wi-Fi - practically non-existent.

When I told them that there was none, they checked with their housekeeping team and said that the manager checked prior to giving us the room.

The next morning we were shown back to our original room, which we were told had been cleaned

The only noise complaint I would have is the noise of what I assume were cleaners in the corridor at 8 am hoovering and banging around and talking really loudly not what I want to wake up too at that time of the morning on a one night stay, room offered very little soundproofing.

however they stated their housekeepers never touched the bag although the bag was in a complete different place I left it.

I eventually got to speak to the duty manager who told me that housekeeping had attended and fixed it.

One other unfortunate note - the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned and I had to rinse pubic hairs from the bath.

The toilets in the gym/spa were really dirty at 9.30am and should have been cleaned by then I think.

- The curtains were marked and dirty
-The media hub was broken
- Cupboards were hanging off broken hinges
- There was no plug at the desk to plug in a laptop
- The bathroom needed deep cleaning
- The mini-bar fridge not only had a terrible selection

although could have been a little cleaner.

The room hadn't been properly cleaned, the headboard had noticeable finger prints all over it and dirty smudges.

but everything after that was just noisy

•	The next morning, we were woken up by housekeeping work at ~8.30am right outside our room.

However we had a lovely stay and also had a great meal at the restaurant.

The restaurant was equally solid with a wide variety of appetizing offerings in addition to a free breakfast package.

food was very reasonably priced and excellent .

And also the restaurant staff who I've known for many years.

but we did eat dinner (which was a huge mistake - see separate review), the outside ‘bar’ area has the potential to be lovely overlooking the Thames as it does but too many , I assume, locals taking up all the seats, playing their own music very loudly and getting very merry & loud meant it wasn’t a particularly nice place to stop the have a drink.

I didn’t eat there so can’t comment on food.

There’s an insane dessert business with a stupid name.

I have eaten a few times in the restaurant and the food has been very good on each occasion - again the restaurant staff were excellent.

I was attending an event at the cocktail bar.

Good choice of food in lovely restaurant / bar and found it easy to work and enjoy some downtime with the facilities.

Bar and restaurant (Banyan on the Thames are a must visit too with amazing cocktails and great variety of food on offer.

Food was also great, tasty and we had plenty of it.

I felt completely undermined by this because I did question this due to the controls being on display and he said ‘no no no you’re wrong it’s a dipping pool’ 
This man was rude to me for no reason.

Staff here are very rude and extremely ignorant.

however is a minor issue, mine was more the attitude and service provided by the front desk - it was abysmal, aloof and rude staff who were more prepared to chat to colleagues than to deal with a customer.

Staff were rude.. food was terrible.. my purse was stolen from the changing rooms.

The people in this hotel are extremely rude I made a reservation through the app I spent super expensive uber I had 3 big bags I could barely carry.

however on our second round of drinks to be asked by the bartender 'have you got the money for it' is absolutely rude and baffling.

My friend who is the birthday girl came back in shock and said the reception lady was extremely rude.

Very aggressive night shift not recommended for people with guests

The deputy general manager (Ben) was rude and at best incompetent offering no compensation for the poor experience.

The driver was rude and ridiculously unsafe.

The members of staff were extremely rude, sloppy and looked less interested in serving us than Donald Trump is in Climate Change.

Bar staff very rude and was £34 for 1 coke and 4 shorts.

We didn’t use the spa so I can’t comment on that.

We enjoed the spa - the hut tub and the suna at the and of the day and we'll sure would love to come back.

Visited on Sunday 10th April for a Spa Day and I was well looked after.

Organised a photoshoot and eveningown fashion show at the Hotel Rafayel , in  Banyan on the Thames  , great location , we all enjoyed the time at the hotel , even managed  to have fun and relax in the Spa  !

We made use of the spa on two occasions, which is one of the best in London.

We initially booked the room in November and saw it had spa facilities and the website specifically stated it was “running as normal” which we were thrilled about as we wanted to unwind after a busy Christmas and new year.

The facilities are fantastic and I would even like to spend a weekend there for a relaxing spa.

Excellent service and very conveniently located on the River Thames, great views from my Thames rooms, good value and incredibly nice restaurant as well as a cosy spa, within smaller hotels Rafayel beats most of them within 1 mile radius.

Wonderful spa with hot tub stream room and sauna.

On the banks of river Thames , also play area for children , nice SPA , very helpful staff

Aside from the usual expected (but amazing) spa, suites, gym etc, they have an absolutely incredible roof terrace that literally blew my mind with the view of London.

When I politely challenged them and asked them to refund the difference (and showed them a screen grab of the prices on their site), the Spa manager shouted at me over the phone!

The food was delicious and the spa very relaxing.

When we went in to the spa either nothing was turned on or nothing worked

My boys loved splashing in the pool and jacuzzi and us girls enjoyed the steam room.

The rooms are 
 big and the hosts were lovely and helpful.

The owner and staff are wonderful and very accommodating.

Btw Ike is on-site and a most humble and approachable hotelier - say hi!

There are pros and cons to this hotel. On the pro side the staff are very friendly & helpful, our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed and very spacious & light  (okay  the view out of the floor to ceiling windows onto the big yellow self storage depot wasn’t great!!)

There’s a kind of concrete garden ornament in the lobby.

Safeena is very knowledgeable and experienced in her field.

The staff are very professional  and attentive.

But I want to mention the man at reception that argued with me when I asked for some help with the resistance pool.

Lama the Manager on Duty was attentive and took care of our every need.
