Huge ugly bar dominates central atrium.Decor totally at odds with environment.

The bar is awesome atmosphere even tough my wife ordered an pina colada that was an epic fail.

Victor, the bar tender is great - so attentive.

The hotel is only short walk from the city centre with some great bars close at hand.

The architecture is very tasteful and the bar area is lovely for a drink in the evening.

Even with grip bars to help I found it quite difficult and I don't have any mobility problems.

Excellent breakfast in the morning and a well provisioned bar in the evening.. Quiet rooms with cold AC, mini bar, free wifi, hot showers.

The atrium bar is a real boon and it is a calm area to sit and read.

The desk area was really cluttered with drinks/ mini bar items to purchase and no space for a laptop or to do any work.

This beautiful hotel is a very nicely renovated Hospice with magnificent decorated rooms of high quality and all amenities

I particularly enjoyed the blend of old and new style in the atrium-style lobby, which would have been a large open air courtyard and is now enclosed in glass and hosts the bar.

Looked a fantastic place so we walked in here and went into a lovely central bar.

but the hotel bar was spacious and had a good range of drinks and overall it felt like a great place to stay.

Only difference is the price, brasserie was much cheaper than the bar.

Dinner at the bar was excellent, the food was very tasty.

Just a treat to sit in the bar and observe, absorb the character of the place.

The rest of the hotel has been modernised and the bar area is very light and contemporary.

The hotel bar is nice and there is a Spa.

The room was large and comfortable, paneled in warm wood.

We booked a Privilege King room and it was a decent size with a comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom.

Our rooms came with White Company toiletries, dressing gowns and slippers and the beds were fabulously comfortable.

We had a standard room, that while not large was comfortable.

The hotel is amazing in every way, service is excellent, bed rooms very quiet and comfortable.

but the comfort and welcome are the same.

It was comfortable and the bathroom a good size with a shower over the bath.

That's a bargain for this hotel
- Fun, lively, comfortable lounge area with glass ceiling.

A living sleeping quarters is separate from the sleeping quarters and flows into a large, comfortable toilet room with integral shower-bath.

Rooms are spacious and beds are more than comfy, Marriott standard.

There are a number of areas to sit in whether you want to be inside or out all are very bright, welcoming & comfortable.

but told them about the air-con again, and so I hadn’t been very comfortable.

Everything was clean, cozy, and comfortable.

The room was nicely appointed and the bed most comfortable.

but said they had an issue refunding the credit card and therefore requested bank details (which were supplied).

They charge 30 Euros for this dangerous service that can actually deeply damage your car.

It turned up 7 hours later, opened and served to my friends without me even being present, then it was charged to my room.

A quite excessive charge for what could simply be a goodwill gesture.

But then tried to charge me 24€ to send it; scrambled eggs at breakfast not very nice

but i was charged 42 Euros for two gin and tonics (chose a cheap gin as well).

The extra charge of € 23, = a person for scrambled eggs made of egg powder, burned bacon, cold eggs in the water and bad coffee served didn’t fit our expectations in this class of hotel.

The only downside is that we were overcharged by upwards of €100 at checkout.

but when i did the checkouts , they have charged us €46 euros per day extra!

Check out ok, only had to ask the Hotel to remove the high speed internet charge.

(The only reason not to allocate 5 stars to this lovely hotel is that the breakfast, for which there is an additional charge, was very uninspired - pre-cooked scrambled eggs in a warmer are not what one expects of a 5* property - grab a coffee in your room and go out for breakfast!)

Bit surprised to be charged E60 for the privilege!

We have never experienced that at Marriott properties, so it was an unexpected additional charge.

On the second day, both of our room cards didn't work due to no fault of our own.

It turned out that the system needed repair and we weren't charged for it when we checked out, which was generous and right,

I suppose it should have since I was billed 8 EUR for that coffee.

but have read from other reviews that the hotel charges €25 entry fee for the pool, there is no gym here disappointingly.

However, what was EXTRAORDINARY about this hotel, and the reason for the average award, was that the swimming pool entry was charged at 25e per person.

I am a big Marriott fan - I was for a time, when I was working, a Platinum Rewards Card holder -

I'm not sure why hotels of this calibre seek to rip you off with their wifi charges.

I’m sure we will be back - Lille had so much charm and activities to offer for families.

Rooms well furnished not keen on the mix of old and very modern furniture would have preferred the more classic look.

Laslo plays piano most nights which adds to the atmosphere.

Beautiful room decor and adjustable air conditioning which was welcome given that it was 35C outside.

A historic hospice very tastefully converted with many original features well preserved.

It’s a blend of old world architecture and that has been very tastefully enhanced by very modern expansions.

Our room overlooked an interior courtyard which meant it was very quiet.

Original art, high ceilings, stained glass windows, glass and steel, statues, etc.

Our room was elegant and well appointed ,

The atmosphere is relaxing and convivial.

We wanted a relaxing weekend before a gruelling seeing-it-all eight day Paris art trip.

Much of the old structure's charm is preserved, including a library and a mildly baroque chapel, as well as exposed timber.

Passages, rooms, dining area - all made with taste and style.

We paid quite a lot for it - perhaps heightened demand because of the World Cup.

If we were unable to attend for any other reason, the costs would obviously be borne by us.

Reasonably priced and not overly expensive either.

but not outstanding and rather expensive for Lille standards, although it would have been far more expensive in Paris.

though I think the treatments were a bit overpriced.

but 30 Euro per night to park is expensive.

Not cheap, at around Euro 340 for a superior room for a night,

though the bar prices are a little eye watering.

The only problem I would have was the high price of breakfast especially for what was available, I would not have had breakfast if I didn't get it automatically.

First they denied having it, then when I offered to pay the postage to send it to me they said they'd found it.

The bar prices are expensive and the choice of background music is twee - Frank Sinatra singing “I’m getting married in the morning”.

The price of a beer in the lounge is ridiculous.

The parking was an extra € 30, = and the dog cost us an extra € 25, =.

We would tend to agree the bar prices are rather expensive

They knocked off one of the breakfast costs, which I guess was something.

Would recommend dinner at the restaurant where food was very good and reasonably priced.

Lovely hotel steeped in history.

Location is perfect, walking distance to all, Christmas markets, shopping, food etc.

We ate in the bistro type restaurant which was very good local cuisine.

H restaurant was closed we went to the brasserie.

Flemish architecture and food in the Estaminet,  try the tasting platter with a local Lideric beer.

.breakfast was very good, wide variety of foods which on the whole were fresh.

We enjoyed many wonderful dinners in the area and saw wonderful historic places.

Room service was prompt and delicious too!

A location that puts you in walking distance of all of the downtown area for visiting shops, restaurants and historical sites.

Expensive hotel, with room service pizza was 24 euros.

We weren't overly impressed with the concierge capabilities as we had asked for help with booking a table for dinner and didn't feel like any proactive suggestions were forthcoming or questions asked to try to understand our requirements,

Both restaurants are excellent, breakfast was very good and there is also a good leisure facility with a spa and pool.

The associated restaurant L'Hermitage Gastronimique was excellent for lunch, excellent food and outstanding service.

We stayed for one night and found the property to be exactly as described with lovely spacious rooms, an excellent breakfast and helpful staff.

Our room was large and lovely with a great view of the courtyard and garden.

The room we got was spacious and well-equipped.

We were upgraded to a larger room at check-in; the concierge even showed me a couple rooms to see which would work best for our needs.

It is well located a short walk from the principal market square and is conveniently located to all of the other key sights in Lille.

Old town about 20-25min walk (flat) from the hotel so pack flat shoes.

The Novotel Suites Gare Lille Europe is fine, our room was clean and moderately furnished, breakfast was all right, just not anything special.

I can totally recommend this hotel because the hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and it serves definitely the purpose of going there for business purposes next time I will always stay at this hotel in case the price is right

Clean and functional - family room a good size good value for money considering Lille seems to be hard to find hotels cheaper .

Bathroom with shower and bathtub were clean as well.

The spotlessly clean room, though, was quite remarkable.

Location: Central Lille, literally in front of train station and Westfield.

X Factor – For anyone needing to overnight in Lille before travelling on by rail to the UK or anywhere in Europe the location cannot be bettered and the accommodation itself is spacious and very comfortable

The location of the hotel is very convenient if you travel by TGV.

The common areas and the location of the hotel are great

The perfect location across from the Lille Europe train station (there are two in Lille, just next to each other) and the stylish lobby & bar makes this a welcoming place to stay in the center.

The location is ok, right next to the station and the freeway.

The location is great and a 10 min walk gets you to the shopping centre and the central part of the city.

I would say best part would be the location.

Located just outside Gare De Lille and fantastic  EuraLille shopping mall.

It's location is superb if you are taking the Eurostar to London, as we were.

Being literally  opposite  train station and a massive shopping centre it was nonstop noise.

Easy walk to shopping centre and old town.

The new station and attached shopping centre in Lille is not wearing well.

A c10min walk into the centre of town and about 5mins walk to the Euralille shopping centre (with a huge Carrefour, and a couple of restaurants both open until 10pm).

although there was no noise - and 5 mins feom a shopping centre which offers various eating options.

The location cannot be beat, and the nearby shopping centre offers many fast food takeway and self-catering options.

Also, it's position is very convenient and is near a shopping centre and the Eurotunnel.

Hotel was great - was ideally located for Lille Europe station, and close to the large shopping centre.
