I love the breakfast bufffet and the little bar.

All encountered, reception, cleaning team, breakfast staff and bar were all extremely friendly,welcoming and helpful.

Breakfast the following morning was great, too, with a lovely assortment of breads, cereals, hot and cold dishes, as well as freshly squeezed orange juice.

Breakfast was very good with lots of choices and you could cook your own egg.

Rooms are large and very comfortable, the buffet very generous and the staff always very helpfull!

With regards to F&B, the breakfast was good, with plenty of options available and decent coffee, and the eating area is pleasant and well lit.

They provide a very varied breakfast in a comfortable breakfast room with other catering facilities we didn't take advantage of.

One great thing we remember from previous visits was the excellent breakfast.

1.The bed was probably the most comfortable one that have come across in hotels.

but maybe a wee bit tired, though we had everything we needed plus a cracking view, & a superbly comfortable bed.

The bed and bedding was quite comfortable, and the shower had more than adequate hot water and water pressure (which is something I treasure when traveling).

The bed was comfy and it there were more pillows in the cupboard if required plus a hairdryer.

We were given a room upgrade to a junior suite on the first floor which was excellent, comfy bed, plenty of room, new bathroom, nice and warm.

However, the rooms are small and during hot weather, the airconditioning struggles to work.

The room was so small that I felt a bit claustrophobic.

I travelled solo and got a very small room with double bed.

The room was very small, the curtain was hanging off the track, tiny wardrobe space, with just a couple of hangers, housekeeping did provide me with more, sadly no space to hang everything up!

On arrival the staff were absolutely amazing and so welcoming and accomodating.

Finally, and most importantly, the staff were TERRIFIC, at reception and at kitchen and housekeeping level.

While everyone was warm and available, I have to highlight some 'superstars': Sofian (F&B), Marion (Reception), Juliana and Natalie (Housekeeping).

Arrived late on a Sunday evening and was checked in quickly by the night staff.

The hotel is well situated for the centre of the city as well as the train station.

Super location, just a few steps from the OLd Town Square and also 15 min walk from main train station.

Hidden just off the Main Street and only a 10 minute walk with you case from the railway station, this hotel is charming as is Lille.

Stayed for two nice, hotel 10 minute walk from the train station and located right in the centre of lille.

For the price, this hotel is in a truly wonderful location in Lille Centre, with underground parking nearby and a only quick walk to the train station.

a 10-minute walk from the railway station and the airport shuttle, Mercure Lille Centre Grand Place is at the same time very close to Vieux-Lille.

Firstly a 10 minute walk from the Eurostar train station, it’s location cannot be bettered in our opinion.

I suspect a better option may be the hotels located at the Eurosport international train station, which is really only a 10 minute walk away and much better located for those travelling with Eurostar connections.

Fantastic location, short walks to the centre ville, shops, train station and metro.

Location was very central - not far from the Grand Place (as the name suggests) and also a relatively comfortable walk to Lille Europe railway station.

The hotel is not far from the Lille Flanders train station and close to the Opera house.

While still being close to the Lille train station, walking distance.

Hotel is clean, located in the city center, near the main train station - so very convenient.

Its only 450m from the train station ( or 750 fro the international train station)

Has a good breakfast at extra charge and a very funky little kitchen area which allows you to design your own meal and drinks (you cook some yourself) an d done on an honesty system.

First time in Lille on a business trip, stayed for 12 nights in the hotel, great location near the Grand Place close to restaurants, retail shops and a 5 minutes walk to the tourist office and train station.

Within 5 to 10 minutes you are in the old town, you can reach the Railway station and you have access to all the shops.

We opted for breakfast and there was plenty of choice for the buffet with freshly squeezed orange juice - made my morning!

Breakfast room service selection was very good.

The bar area was very nice in the evening and the breakfast for a fee was excellent and well worth the price.

We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on breakfast or dinner.

A generous continental breakfast was served downstairs and from there the main attractions and restaurants were in easy walking distance.

The breakfast was great - very fresh and a wide variety.

Relaxed and really helpful staff, lovely breakfast given the price and really like the scheme to get a free drink if you forego housekeeping as well as the eco-friendly toiletries.

I wouldn't bother with breakfast, there is a coffee shop serving pastries nearby and would recommend this instead.

almost fine location- 39o C and we reached the hotel from Dunkirk for the air-conditioning.

There was a big range of food including cooked and many pastries.

Had a lovely welcome gift of a bottle of local beer for booking directly with the hotel.

All the staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English for us and were happy to make recommendations of things to do and nice restaurants for dinner.

The hotel location could not be better, short walk from rail stations, near city centre, restaurants, shopping, etc. .

Drinks and snacks in the minibar were complimentary (a nice surprise) and the fridge was perfect for keeping milk and beers cold!

The receptionist gave good recommendations for food (restaurant BABE in the same building was fantastic).

Car park - not the best car park, really smells of urine!

The shower water wouldn’t drain away which meant we had to keep stopping the shower otherwise it overflowed onto the bathroom floor.

This means (as a non smoker) it’s very unpleasant to be in or near the restaurant and therefore it also drifts into the reception area too.

Have read recent reviews which talk about a sewerage kind of smell , and yes we smelt it outside (certainly not inside)

Entire lobby/breakfast area smelled like cigarettes.

I also felt that they have changed their toiletries to cheaper brand very strong smelling honey fragrance not the l'occitan ones they used to use.

The music and outside smoking area were constantly noisy until around 2am and as the aircon was not working we had no choice

The smell can be found all over the city centre.

Previous reviewers mentioned the smell of drains in the lift.

The smell did also seep into the roo a little - not great.

Fortunately the smell did not extend to the room!

The smell was awful, and the taste even worse.

In addition, they have a covered patio as well where you can take breakfast as well as a seating area in front of the hotel where people can take a drink or smoke.

The sausages were rock hard, the croissants had a stale taste to them as if they had been left out for a long time.

but quite nicely done out with features such as a bath with LED edge illumination, hair dryer and an unusual basin with no plug hole but a flat surface sloping gently away to a drainage channel at the rear.

However the smell was not evident inside the hotel.

The bathroom was design led rather than practical, the side of the bath was very high and there was no shower curtain/screen so the water ran onto the floor, hence the skirting boards were rotting, the sink had no plug or anyway to retain water.The minibar didnt work and we reported this every day, also one bedside light didnt work and wasnt fixed during our stay.

Nice hotel, round windows make the building easy to find, nice decor, friendly reception, they gave us a map and tips for the city and kept our luggage after checkout.

Sotiros on reception was amazing - so friendly and knowledgeable.

This was constantly refilled each morning and staff are there to help as well.

The staff didn’t hesitate to give us the things we requested and were very accommodating.

Staff all very friendly and accommodating, speaking perfect English (which helped me a lot as a non-French speaking guest).

Julien took very good care of us and provided a different room without question.

Room heating was not manageable and window was a challenge to open.

Coffee machine and airconditioning were broken.

It was also very warm and as the room we had wasn't air conditioned it was a little uncomfortable despite a fan.

It has a glass roof over the main areas yet no air conditioning!

Once it was on, it certainly cooled the room down.

This means that the hotel is very hot when the sun shines and there are many fans dotted around

The AC didn't work after the first day, fortunately, the weather cooled off at night.

but too stuffy to be inside the bar area.

I traveled with my Mother who is blind in one eye and on being shown an interior room which was small and dark and very humid we were moved to an exterior room that was much better.

Rooms are clean, dark due to the small monastery windows and have no air conditioning.

This heat is passed onto the inward facing rooms and whilst we cooled our rooms down with the air conditioning we had to turn it off when trying to sleep due to its slight noise .The residual heat from the central area then heats the room back up again and it made our sleep difficult.

though large, also lacked convenient shelving space and the towels had to dry above a cold and very basic radiator – no towel radiator.

Room had no drawer units for clothes which I thought a bit odd for a 4*

In our room, the safe didn’t work; the shower over the bath and under the eaves is difficult for the petite to step into and for the tall to stand under; there was no air-con,

however when we arrived in the room I was a little disappointed; it was rather small, the furnishings were tired and there was no air conditioning (much needed on a warm day).

This is an old convent that is beautifully converted to a hotel with great rooms, a delicious breakfast, and friendly staff.

It is a gorgeous space, full of light, very nice rooms and an excellent breakfast.

Ideally to explore Lille and to have a comfortable rest.

Beautiful building and location, room was very outdated and not comfortable.

but they were otherwise comfortable and the hotel restaurant was better than decent (though I wouldn’t go if I were not a guest at the hotel).

This is a lovely clean hotel where you are able to relax and enjoy the comfort of the facilities.

The bedroom was quiet, clean and comfortable.

My room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable.

Comfortable beds and windows which opened fully, with wide window seat. Air-conditioning also worked so sleeping not a problem (daytime temperatures in mid-20s.)

General interior - smart and very attractive, retaining the old brick cloister walks with vaulted ceilings which were a nice contrast to the glass roof over the central area.

The bathroom was tiled with a decent shower enclosed in glass preventing water escaping across the wider bathroom.

This hotel is more about the aesthetics with a really imposing bar and restaurant situated in the centre of the hotel with a large glass roof.

, btw, the course include one apéritif (kir) and one glass of white and red wine.

The bulding is an old convent, with a glass ceiling atrium around the old cloister.

Now a luxury hotel, this former monastery is well worth a visit if only to appreciate the glass roofed elevated champagne bar and the atrium bar flanked by cloisters.

All of this is under a glass roof that makes you feel as if you were in a schizoid greenhouse.

The glass roof over this area creates a greenhouse effect on a hot day and it becomes very warm.

On a recent stay in Lille we decided to treat ourselves to a glass of champagne and a meal at the Couvent des Minimes, so booked a table for a midweek dinner.
