Fabulous for fans of hotels with excellent bedding, a beautiful heated swimming pool, a "to die for" breakfast buffet.

Dinner is a real gastronomic experience - delicious seafood, steak and lamb and lovely touches like vegetable tart, apricot crumble and the very lightest soufflé.

The breakfast gateau pistache was so good, I went looking for a recipe to make at home - sure enough they’ve posted it on their blog!

but wished we had stayed at La Disirade for our entire trip. We went back to have breakfast there (best on the island!)

Great rooms, comfortable beds, a perfect host and services as well as an excellent breakfast and a marvellous restaurant. Perfection!

Breakfast is a real treat with a selection of fresh homemade cakes, pastries and yoghurts.

I had left a bag on the bus and she phoned the company immediately, without being asked.

Definitely eat in the hotel restaurant which is on the opposite side of the road.

the main roads  are narrow and drivers ignore speed limits invariably, luckily they are introducing a mobile radar on the island which should calm things up )  ( hotel bicycles are not of the greatest quality

but in need of updating (no air conditioning, poor showers).

but there are no ties for the drapes to prevent them from blowing out the windows in the wind.

Be careful of the parasols ours blew over in the breeze,luckily no one was hurt and only water was spilt.

- Lunch menu, drinks and other extras in general were quite expensive
- While we can't blame Castel Clara for the hottest July on the Belle-Île since 1951, it's a fact that the absence of air conditioning in the rooms really spoiled the overall experience.

but the shower was weak and you had to climb in and out of the bath, not ideal.

The toilet room was so small that you could not shut the door unless you squeezed in and turned around.My husband is 6ft, so his knees hit the door.

Three things to keep in mind:  The amenities are not provided in miniature containers in 
order to reduce waste.

This was a bad start to what was otherwise an enjoyable  stay: the food at both breakfast and dinner was excellent and of particular note was the friendly cheerful and efficient staff throughout the hotel from chamber maid to breakfast staff to dinner waiters and waitresses .

The scenic location and the great walks along the coast helped us to burn the calories we collected during the fabulous breakfast buffet (the local caramel and local pastries were divine) .

The restaurants at the hotel are also for kids, and the breakfast is amazing!

Most of the Thalasso I have visited lately already  have integrated light 400-600 calorie 3 course options into their menus (that taste delicious by the way).

Breakfast is massive and delicious, and our  evening meal at thier restaurant was memorable.

You have to decide between buffet or the menu.

Breakfast was superb and dinners were quite good.

- Fantastic view, from the room, from the breakfast terrace and from the dinner terrace
- Good infrastructure (outdoor pool, indoor pool, well-equipped gym, rental bikes including e-bikes etc.)

but the hotel itself seemed a bit underwhelming for the price.

Also, in such an expensive and classy place, you do not expect to get soap and shower gel dispensers,

though the weather was not always ideal, simply looking out of our window at Port Gopher was a delight.

As we had to keep the windows open and our room was just above the breakfast terrace (also used in the evening for the buffet dinner), we were ultimately denied of the absolute peace and quiteness we were expecting
- On departure there was a mistake on the bill (laundry service charged twice)

None of these issues in isolation would have stopped us from giving the top rating to Castel Clara,

We didn’t try the evening buffet as not really fans of seafood

If you can get in ,le cardinal is a great deal..  with a wonderful fish buffet.

The hotel itself was very clean, all the facilities required, excellent pool and hot-tub (overlooking sea) and the restaurant had fantastic buffet dinner - it was not a luxury stay,

There is also  a "famous seafood buffet" (32 Euro) which justified its reputation.

where each evening Le Cardinal rolls out an amazing seafood buffet, open to guests (29 euros, including wine) and locals (32).

Breakfasts are included and you'll find a ton of variety,

Breakfast is excellent, local products, pancake original, (this is  Bretagne).

Cons: our standard room looked dated and a little tired, without a single personal touch.

As for the bathrooms, any French chain hotel could do better: tiny cramped showers and a few thin towels.

First for the view: the hotel sits on a point above the port of Sauzon and is sited to look straight down the jagged coastline of tiny bays with black rocks sheering out of the water beneath emerald green bush.

Very friendly hosts and excellent breakfast!

As written by others, the breakfasts were delicious -- always a real treat for the weary!

Perrine and Nicolas were wonderful hosts, treating us to delicious breakfasts every morning, giving advice on places to go and booking restaurants for us.

It is rare that you get to spend time at a place so beautifully situated that provides excellent service, accommodations, breakfast and knowledgable recommendations for meals and what to see, The couple that own this B&B show their pride in everything they do and are delightful.

Breakfast was delicious with mostly local or homemade products.

The breakfast was delicious with homemade cakes and fresh fruit juice, different every day.

Nicolas and Perrine have renovated the property with great taste and charm and are such extraordinary hosts.The  breakfasts were magnificent.

Elegant, soothing, relaxing, great location, great decoration, great breakfast.

We explored the island on foot, we lounged in the garden on deck chairs while Perrine fed us ice cream.

Be sure to ask for an egg/bacon bc it's not always offered.

Good breakfast The restaurant was very popular For diner so I strongly suggest to book it days in advance.

but we could enjoy the swimming pool, a nice diner, a great breakfast and we found all the staff very helpful and smiling.

Wonderful walks along the shore and spectacular sceneries a few minutes away from the hotel. A bit pricey, especially the breakfast (not included in the room rate.  )

but they serve coffee like a little breakfast (two cakes added) and that was just what we needed.

Our room was fine, albeit a little small, and the breakfasts were good quality .

The view from the breakfast room and the terrace was fabulous, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

but there is also a great little creperie you can walk to from the hotel, plus a lovely little store which has cheese, fruit, croissants, yogurt, baguettes, etc.

Never caught without a smile, they also are very human in their exchanges with the clientele.

Hopefully the hotel will improve its service to paying guests going forward.

During our stay, half board menu was offered for dinner as long as you were hotel guests (even if you were not on a half-board plan) and it was offered to anybody (even non hotel guests) for lunch.

Leave your car in Quiberon, we did not this time and paid that ridiculous price of 340,- just for the car.

Views are spectacular, I would have paid more for an ocean facing room,

but we discovered much better food at lower prices in Sauzon especially.

It is expensive and worse still, there is little or no choice on the menu.

More unconvenient, we have found food offerings well overpriced and not diversified enough.

Motorists will find themselves wondering why their half-hour ferry crossing has cost them about  £300 for a car plus two passengers.

So since breakfast is not included, we decided not to spend the 9 Euros and instead had quite a feast at the little store for half the price.

After 15 minutes, we seated ourselves as opposed to standing in a hallway as breakfast servers passed by us.

Breakfast can be had outdoors, complete with gulls ready to snatch your jambon if you're not careful.

Excellent breakfast (€18 - so I suppose it should be).

We enjoyed fresh buffet style breakfasts on the terrace each morning, and sampled the delights of local restaurants at night.

The bar and breakfast terrace was really nice and of course has a seaview.

At the hotel, we were informed that our room still wasn't ready and they would call us.

The place is not without it's challenges: wifi only in lobby, iffy cell reception, no tv.

although we were referred to a phone, I couldn't locate it in our room) - none of which bothered me.

we were there for 2 nights and after the first night we left the room at 10 AM, we came back at 5 PM and the room was not made as new, we had to call to have someone to come over and clean it.

There isn't a TV and the tub only had a shower wand (now shower).

The only negative point (but it looks it is the case for all hotels in Belle ile) is that internet connection is poor especially in high season.

We never came across other visitors even during breakfast.

but I noticed that the there was dust on thing that you don't really pay attention to like radiator.

Contacted the hotel directly to enquire, received a response quoting higher prices than were advertised on their website.

Breakfast is served in a lovely sun room and was wonderful (fresh fruit, yogurt, several types of bread/pastry, excellent coffee).

Before I booked with Bordeneo, I called and asked if they accepted dogs. She said, "Yes."

But I had to notch off a point because my husband and mother-in-law were not happy with the reception and the lack of hospitality.
