Other than the service at breakfast we had a wonderful stay.

Excellent breakfast with a good variety to choose from for all tastes and set in a nice restaurant within the hotel.

Very clean and fantastic staff especially "Ronnie " who was a member of the breakfast staff and a young man who just started in the Pullam last week where nothing was too much trouble.

but breakfast was excellent with attentive staff.

Food was good with both english and continental taste.

Having said that  the breakfast was very good and if you book it the night before, you get it for £12  considering the quality of food  we considered this a good deal.

Great location, facilities, friendly and helpful staff especially Georgia in the restaurant who was really helpful in setting our 1 year old up for breakfast.

Hannah on reception made us feel really welcome, The Pullman is the only hotel we stay at when we come to Liverpool as the hospitality is second to none, the rates are great and breakfast is extensive.

The service was exceptional and breakfast had every you could want.

It was not until she saw that the lights were off and curtains were closed, that she realised we were supposedly asleep.

last orders was called at the bar at 11.30 as the bar was closed from 12.  .

but didn’t get to that point as when we went down at 6pm we was told the restaurant is closed.

though a bit surprised they closed it to residents so soon.

We wanted to have a night cap or coffee before we went to bed and the bar was closed!

You could see hotel guest returning and being told that the bar was closed were not happy.

The main bar closed at 10.30pm, when it was still packed with guests wanting to be served.

After walking back to the hotel I was told that there was another Paypoint nearby in a closed off car park.

The only disappointment was was the restaurant Wheelers by Marco White was closed due to COVID

The Pullman IS a good hotel, the sad thing being that, apart from breakfast on our final morning, the restaurant was closed, and lockdown did put a bit of a damper on what would normally be a busy and buzzing hotel.

On arrival back at the room we found it was in darkness, all curtains closed,to our surprise there were two towel swan sculptures sat on the bed, that was a giggle.

although the restaurant and bars were closed a continental breakfast was left outside our room which contained porridge, fruit and pastries.

although the restaurant/bar was closed, we had the option of room service if needed.

Staff were very unhelpful when the roads were closed for a run.

I couldn’t see a disabled room option so I called the hotel as the reservations dept had closed.

but there was an open air carpark next to the hotel (empty) but closed and the nearest council run one was £15.00 per night with no discount..

We booked to stay in this hotel almost 2 months ago and we were  only informed on 23 May on the day we departed from the airport that the road surrounding the hotel was closed from 8.30 am to 12.00pm on 25 May for Rock & Roll marathon .

However, on coming down in the evening we were told the restaurant was closed.

even though the hotel were advertising stake night the restaurant was closed.

When we checked in the receptionist informed us that the car park was closed due to a fire last year!

Bedside tables are the same very dark wood finish as the fitted furniture, all of which tends to make the room feel even smaller.

but the duty manager told me she couldn’t understand why they put dark wood fittings in the rooms as they show every mark & acknowledging the dirty, marked upholstery, she said they could only get the specialist cleaner in when they had enough rooms like this!

If I'm being picky the bathroom was too dark to do my makeup and there was only one bathrobe and slippers - which didn't affect us as my husband didn't need a robe and I preferred to put my makeup on in natural light sat by a small table looking out onto the river.

The room was tired, the dark furnishings chipped stained and had seen a lot of visitors obviously.

The only issue that we had was a lack of lighting in the shower, which made it feel dark.

The hotel is also very clean (exceptionally important during these times) The only thing I would change is the reception which is very dark and a bit soulless - a few flowers might perk it up a bit.

however the bathroom was grimy (mould in tiles and extractor fan was filthy) not helped by the dark lighting in the bathroom.

but a number of us found the bathrooms too dark.

Bathroom was dark and the sliding doors which didn't lock were not great.

- the bathroom lighting was absolutely terrible for trying to do your make up in - really dark.

If I was looking for negatives, I would say that the bathroom was a bit dark (with very dark wall tiles and insufficient lighting), and also agree with another reviewer about a problem with the floor tiles looking stained; and I would mention that they had run out of bananas at breakfast on two mornings, and had run out of croissants on our last morning (when we came down a bit later to breakfast)!

A couple of small moans - the lighting in the bathroom ( despite the light around the mirror) is very dim, it’s like putting your make up on in the dark and the Club Room is a bit disappointing.

The only other mirrors are in the bathroom which again is quite dark and has no natural light!

Such friendly staff, beautiful room and it was my friends birthday so a plate with chocolate “happy birthday” and 3 home made chocolates, wonderful and then a phone call asking if everything was ok…  pool sauna steam room and hot tub wonderful and afternoon tea excellent with peaceful piano music playing.

Room was extremely clean and tidy, with plenty of work space for laptop.

We stayed in a superior room with river view and it was very clean and lovely.

Room, I had an executive and it was for the money right up there with one of the best ive stayed in on Business.

Nice hotel around Albert Dock. Good sized rooms with no noise, a very comfy bed, mini bar with complimentary water (but no biscuits!)

The rooms are well equipped and spacious.

My room was out of this world and thankfully was blessed with the weather so I could take nice pics from my river view room.

Our room 211 was a superior room was lovely and spacious,with a limited free mini bar,great bathroom and shower!

The rooms are also air conditioned and ours on both occasions have had walk in showers.

The rooms are modern and clean, the air-conditioning in the rooms works really well keeping the room at a constant comfortable temperature.

Our room had an amazing view looking over the water and over Liverpool city centre which was awesome at night seeing the city lights.

The rooms were very spacious with a great view over the Mersey and the Albert dock

but showed a few signs of wear and tear and I was disappointed at the price not to have Nespresso rather than the standard packet coffee and perhaps some minibar drinks, even if as payable extras.

One word of warning, if you park in the car park next to hotel you'll need a Phd to decipher the instructions on the meter.

They also provided a cot on short notice and suggested relocating the room due to loud music from the exhibition centre.

A few hours after check in, we were lying on the bed and suddenly, without any warning, another guest let himself in and walked into our room.

As I entered the hotel there was a table with a sign asking you to use the hand sanitiser and a sign directing down along a long tensile barrier to check in.

Not here: is spite of a few notice boards here and there, perhaps only 20% of the guests used them, even in a packed lift.

It's just kinda obvious that corners are being cut, and regular guests are starting to notice.

Had to cancel a booking due to our cruise having to be cancelled at short notice.

We were let down by another hotel at very short notice and had to find somewhere quickly.

I left the sign on the door saying ‘please make up our room’

but they forgot the Shepard only 2 pieces of meat in a very small portion.comfortable restaurant but not much else going for it.no ambiance.in fairness to management the problem ordering the inclusive meal was explained to us and management removed extra charges so very fair.but unfortunatly dinner had been very comfortable.

A warning to go to breakfast at least an hour before end of service as there were long queues after that as tables were not cleared and re-set quickly enough.

A simple sign  saying Check In would help.

Other hotels, no doubt, would have removed the cushions

but narrow with the furniture showing signs of wear.

We re called reception at 6:20 As no sign, and then about 6:30 the maid arrived.

but it’s just a table with a laptop in front of you as you enter - a sign wouldn’t go amiss.

The room we were allocated; smelt and the bed was not clean; stains on the divan; stains on the bedding and very dusty.

The rainfall shower had all limescale on it did not look pleasant and the shower floor was dirty and mouldy in places.

however unfortunately the room was filthy.

On entering the room we noticed a smell, reminiscent of sick if I'm honest.

The free mini bar wasn’t as stocked as last time and the whole room had a stale smell including the towels.

The toilets on the ground floor were filthy when we arrived.

The corridor on the second floor smelt of sewage terribly when you opened the room door.

He was in very bad grace and his whole attitude stank and put a total dampener on our experience at the hotel.

but the room was very dusty, and the water tank on the Nespresso machine was filthy so we didn't use it.

COVID precautions seemed sensible and appropriate and despite quite a young clientele most were adhering to masks etc in public places.

but they didn’t do anything about the drain and didn’t come to replace our towels.

Also on requesting extra pillows the linen on pillows did not smell fresh.

The settee in the room was badly stained (disgusting in fact) and the some of the free movies have been showing for at least two years , the tv reception was very poor and intermittent (we did point this out on departure) we have another night away booked here in August this year and this could be our last if things do not improve, such a shame as we used to love this hotel.

As of my stay, straight facing the hotel reception is the remains of a car park which burned down last year.

We were in room 730 and to be honest it smelt dusty and there was a couple of small holes in the bed sheets.

The menu describes "a basket of bread" - what you get is 2 slices of brown and white sliced loaf which were semi stale (crispy around the edge).

- I ordered a burger from room service and the bun was burned on the inside.

Friendly Staff across the property who are happy to help where needed.

The staff are fabulous especially Roni and the team in the restaurant.

however, the very nice staff that showed  a superb service 24/7.

Again, the Pullman and its staff did not disappoint, they were excellent just as they were 1st time.

but to response on trip advisor and all I get basically the impression of I don’t care so here we go food was awful at breakfast beans very cold so grilled tomatoes hash brown and mushroom I don’t even think they had the hot plate on there was no leader ship no ones seems to know what they are doing expect Paul the supervisor the coffee was bitter the reception staff definitely needs Trainig in how to deal with customers complaints they were very unprofessional and unhelpful .

however the cleanliness of the plates, cups, cutlery at breakfast was very poor.

The Bedroom's Deco I thought horrid, one of the Seat Pads was Stained, there was Stains all over the Carpet and Stains on the Wall alongside the Tea Tray!

but room scruffy with little things like a poor hospitality tray and 3* furnishings.

My soup was the pasta sauce used for the pasta dish on the menu.

The buffet area was messy with food scattered on the serving table and no one restocking the plates and bowls.

Tables were not cleared and we resorted to putting our dirty plates on the floor and windowsill as we were running out of room.

The mugs on the tea tray did not look the cleanest either!

The tea tray was minimal for this sort of hotel and the furniture starting to show its age.

The hospitality tray was a bit mean with only two breakfast tea bags and two green tea along with 2 of coffee and four milk.

If we had been there with the restrictions someone would have had to serve us and I’m guessing wouldn’t have dared to put this on a plate.

however a limited room service menu was available - delivered to the room in boxes with balsa wood cutlery.

No bottle opener/corkscrew on the refreshment tray.

I happened to mention that it Would have been nice if a biscuit was provided on the tea/coffee tray in the room.

Found it hard to choose what to go for as several dishes really appealed

They make them in huge trays in the oven and the eggs are not even “real beaten eggs” they come from a big plastic bottle.

The only downside was that the welcome tray with teas and coffees etc in could do with a bit more stock in them!

Becky ,on reception, greeted us so warmly.This is a good start which is sometimes lacking in other hotels.She had taken the time to read our booking and congratulated us on our wedding anniversary.We were married in Liverpool and decided to take a trip back and look around our old home.She explained how our key card worked and said she had allocated a special room for us.She was n't  kidding.Room 739 was amazing.The views were far reaching and the extra touches were lovely.There was a hand written anniversary card and a beautifully arranged plate of fruit and chocolate.

Just returned from 2 day break at the Pullman  booked a Superior King with River View.

We stayed in a Superior river view , King sized bed , and breakfast included , and we thought it was very good value for money for what we had.

Plenty of storage space and our room had a nice seating bench that ran along the length of the room beneath the panoramic window were you could sit and enjoy the view out the huge panoramic windows or just lie down in the sun and read a book.

It has lovely rooms a great view if you pay for the upgrade and it is in a great location.

Very quiet in the rooms, clean, huge bed and stylish rooms with a fantastic view of the Ferris wheel.

Our river view room was very spacious and had everything we needed.

Get a room with a view of the Mersey if you can.

Spotlessly clean, spacious room, excellent breakfast and friendly staff.

Perhaps this is why I have been gravitating to Hilton brand hotels the past year (as breakfast is included for gold members).

The hotel was very clean all the staff were very friendly and helpful our room had a king sized bed which was great , fantastic breakfast (would recommend everyone to include this) the car park was so handy next door which was also a good price.

Buffet breakfast is excellent value for money - book the day before to save £2.50 per meal.

Nicest breakfast that we have had in any hotel for a very long time.

Positives are clean hotel, very central location perfect for rail arrivals, free parking and lovely breakfast.

No way of controlling the temperature in individual rooms, I was absolutely freezing and while a small electric heater was eventually provided it made little difference due to the only sockets being nowhere near the bed.

though due to building works, not well signed to get to reception from the lifts in the car park.

We really struggled to sleep due to the temperature.

however this is  due to finish beginning of Summer, and I am sure this will then improve the access and prominent position of this hotel.

I am going to have to rate down on value for money due to the fact we had to pay quite a lot for one night , probably due to the fact that there was a lot of things on in Liverpool that weekend.

The breakfast we were a little nervous of because of the changes due to COVID  ,

My partner due to having Parkinson’s desease required a walk in shower.

I had arranged to go to Aintree races and needed to travel the evening before due to an early winter start.

This is were the event was marred due to the extreme rudeness of the man I spoke to on reception , coupled with a disinterested and dismissive attitude .

but had not stayed for a while due to decline in work travels, but we were not to be disappointed.

Unfortunately our friend Ian took very unwell due to heart issues.

but would definitely consider asking for a room facing the other direction due to the noise issue.

but quite noisy due to a Hen party staying; take ear plugs just in case.

however it was still too hot for me and due to this I would not stay here again.

Had a terrible nights sleep due to the constant droning of the lifts and the person in the next room being sick all night from 1am.

Breakfast was also avaliable however due to a busy night we didn't get up to try it

Only downside for us was not being able to travel to lime street station which is directly opposite, due to the rails being renewed.

We even able to check in earlier than the 15:00 time due to our room already been cleaned and ready for us - the only good thing about a flight delay LOL we were due to arrive at about 11:30

However would not stay again due to noise levels.

A great location for visiting the city and an easy walk to Liverpool 1, a variety of eating places and the docks for a Mersey ferry trip.

Chosen due to other TA reviews as well as cost and location.

Location is amazing, a stones throw away from Lime Street station.

The hotel is in a central location in the city.

As well as the interiors being great, the location was also a fantastic base for exploring the city centre, especially if you travel by train as it’s opposite Line Street station.

The location is great, everything is near , supermarkets, shops , and it’s safe , there’s a security.

Thee was a choice of a continental - ham and cheeses - quasonts - cereals   to a full English  - any thing you could have wanted for breakfast - and it was ALL fresh - very nice
