Hanger space is above space for luggage and it is a mess while there was plenty of space in the bathroom and to the left of the bed.

What I missed were slippers, coffee equipment in the room wasn’t renewed the second day, eucalyptus smell on the pillow I did not like and that there is no wardrobe to put your clothes in-in fact you can hang all your shirt and jacket on the wall

However, there was a conference group one day and the lifts had a 'room key' hanging off a string available to conference personnel to go to various rooms, they were obviously not residents.

Even the suites (which are spacious) are very plain, and do not have a real closet or dresser (just some hangers on exposed hooks and shelves on the wall).

There are no cupboards and more than shower gel you wont find in the bathroom.

There wasn't a wardrobe as such rather just some hangers and a couple of cabinets.

There is no closet, so that could bother some people, particularly if they are traveling in groups.

I expect a cupboard in my room, not 3 bars sticking out of the wall with hangers on them to hang your clothes on.

It is a bit frugal, as expected from Park Inn: no enclosed space (furniture) for your things (just open-air hangers).

There was too much empty space and no closet or drawers.

On the down side was the lack of wardrobes or storage space for clothes.

we have stayed here before on 3 occasions and never had the need to write a poor review, until now.

Breakfast was quite a delusion because the choice was very poor in particular for those with authors allergies or dietary restrictions.

Except the entertainnent television channels were poor for english speaking guests.

To be justice:
+ for location ( very central)
+ for the room standard
- for staff (they were angry and had no service mind specially at breakfast)
- for braekfast (very poor and often food is finish so we had to wait)
- for elevators (normal to wait 5 minutes before it come with space)
- for hotel resturant (expensive and not testy food)
We would not take that hotel agaim

Overall we felt the total price for our stay was comparatively expensive - breakfast was extra to the room and offered a relatively minimal and poor quality selection for a high price .

Nice modern hotel located centrally in Linz, a few hundred meters away from the main commercial streets, 5 min walk from the Xmas market, 15 min walk from the train station.

Located close to the main train station, this property is clean, well maintained and has all the essentials you need for a good nights rest.

We wanted to be near the train station to access transport to surrounding villages for genealogy research and using Linz as our hub worked out perfectly.

10-15 mins walk from the train station and 5 mins walk to City center.

Just 10 minutes to the center of action (if such place exists in Linz), and just 10-15 minutes' walk from the central bus or train station (about 1 km).

The location is very central and not to far from the train station.

Location is pretty good, just off the central shopping street and only a few minutes walk to the tram service that can take you to the main railway station.

The hotel is located centrally, within walking distance of the train station and the tourist spots.

The train station is also close, about a 20 minute walk (with luggage).

but still, the hotel is right in between the train station and the historical center, with trams right nearby.

The hotel, rated as a 4 star, is a modern, new and sophisticated hotel at Hesselplatz, 100 meters from the comercial Landstrass who leads to Hauptmarkt (main square) and in a 10 minutes walk from Hauptbahnhof, the central train station and bus.

I've been staying at this hotel regularly for the past year and a half for business purposes

So, in summary: A very good hotel for business or short-stay travellers, perhaps less so as a central hub for visiting the city of Linz

If you are travelling in business the location may be good

This particular hotel is, due to the nature of its business and its price point, not get anywhere close to these special experiences.

I would stay here only if on business and with offices to visit nearby, not for personal holidays.

Maximum for business with own internet i would  recommend.

Was with my husband on a business  trip and liked this hotel very much.

The Courtyard offers everything, which is expected from a good business hotel.

Being business travelers, the reception at this Marriott Courtyard Hotel asked us for extra fees for W-LAN.

I stayed in Marriott for business purposes and we occupied the meeting room near restaurant.

All my visits are on business so my comments relate to a person travelling alone.

This is a great hotel in linz and I stay there for business quite often.

Modern, efficient, with its own garage and in walking distance to the city center.

Location is near the city centre so you can walk and enjoy the city.

high speed internet everywhere, walking distance to the city center and train station, very good breakfast and dinner.

but with a great location,  The Park Inn is modern and up to Marriott standards and very close to the city and the Arcotel is right on the Danube.

though it's not as close to the city centre, this hotel has large spacious rooms that are very clean and comfortable.

The hotel is close to the city center (Taxi to the center costs around 6€) and has its own garage.

There's no free breakfast here, and with the 10€ food and beverage credit, you will still wind up paying through the nose for whatever it is they offer for 24€ (it is unlikely to be much, as this is a Courtyard, after all).

Did not have breakfast as they charge €24 which is a too high price tag for a Courtyard breakfast.

As platinum member, you don't get anything except for 10Euro credit or 500 points, you don't get an upgrade.

and nastiness about the credit card - again, from a woman at reception.

though , is blocking my credit card several times repeatedly ,4 times to be more accurate, and not the correct amount.

Anyway I find a bit cheap that the coffee from Nescafé was not free (even if I could take it thanks to my platinum card).

In perfect american style they bill your credit card with an extra amount during the check in (in case you would be so greedy to use the frigobar without paying).

Unfortunately I experienced the same here 20 euro's car park, internet charges ( which were waived when I joined the frequent stay club ) breakfast not included.

We had problems using our Marriott cash card, this was not the hotel's fault

A little issue on checkout (wrong invoice I didn't check at the moment), promptly fixed via email.

The rooms are noisy with some aircon plant or other annoying noise and the hotel charges extra for internet which - in today's time really should be free.

Other shockers were the 4.5 euro charge for bottle of water in the room and the 19 euro charge for a full breakfast.

Because of the problem I experienced I was not charged.

The staffs are very friendly and energetic despite of late working hours during boxing day.

They base it on US$, thenn apply Fx to equate it to EUR and then install the credit That results in you spending EUR 20 (rouding it up to 20 with tips) at the bar and the running into a EUR 3.96 additional charge (Fx delta EUR 1.98 per person).

In the rooms they have wifi for money only.

I found that the basic gratis package was adequate, even for streaming services, so would advise trying this to see if it suits your needs before paying extra for an upgraded package that offers no obvious benefit.

"It's all about making money for the shareholders!"

Other issues I have - paying extortionate rates for internet when other hotels in the area give it for free, noisy kids running up and down the corridors all night and "strange" people constantly sitting around the reception area at all hours (reminded me of the old Eastern bloc hotels with dodgy Government officials in leather coats and hats watching the clientele) and its not the closest hotel to the city centre.

but there can be very crowded, noisy, running kids - and clearly this is what management counts on - to push you towards paying a high price for using it in the room.

but you can "save money" with the breakfast and internet deal (either 30 or 35 euros i think).

but you have to pay money for your car park in hotel basement..

While the staff works very hard to content with this problem, the impact is to create a very negative and sleepless expereince for weekend tourists or business travelers who wind spending the weekend at the property.

Location is a bit out of town, and parking is quite pricey.

At EUR 21 - overpriced breakfast for what it was and truly only wanted coffee, juice and a few pastries.

Room are outdated bedsheets are dirty and toilet amenities are cheap and terrible.

The only negative I would level at the hotel is the 20 euro overnight parking charge - the seemed very steep.

Notice: you have to pay for the garage services daily, it is quite expensive and have no other opportunity to park.

If they were the only statistic I had with which to rate the hotel, I'd never book anywhere else.

3 days later I had to inform them again about the mistake and it was only then when they realized it and they would rectify it, it took 3 weeks for the amount to be released back to my bank account….Moreover, housekeeping needs to pay more attention and not only to detail

The best information at check in: we have to pay for the internet. Why???

It's a little on the pricey side, at approx 150 a night.

wifi and and empty minibar - to be filled on your demand in the concession shop - at sound prices !

otherwise you need to pay (5 Euro for 24 hour).

Such a pity Hotels dont have much better visibility of costs in much the same way airlines were mandated too some time ago.

What i didn't liked was the smell in the hotel, also the reason for only 3 stars.

It's even smokier at the check in, and then you even have to go through a smokey bar to get to breakfast.

but on arrival two of my colleagues were given smoking rooms as they had run out of non-smoking.

but the area was full of smokers and no where else to eat that was smoke free.

So forever stays the smell, when you use bathroom.

Marriott should stick to an all non-smoking policy in the hotel.

Bar/restaurant are nothing special and food is quite disappointing, plus smoking being allowed isn't particularly pleasant.

First off.. shame on Austria for not following the rest of Europe in not implementing a blanket smoking ban.

The negative comments are for the smoking now allowed in specific areas.

For smoking room i have another point, some smooking rooms looks "old" and have specific smell of many cigarettes.

I have seen a lot of hotels,because  I travel a lot.But this hotel is one of those who deserves a praise.I don't have any complains.Everything is above standard.Breakfast is amazing.Personell  at the breakfast with their kindness make your experince even better with preparing you a coffe or tea.Specially a miss from Spain is outstanding.

quite a normal hotel with central location, with an average room, had only two plugs being in wrong place, air condition (heating) didn't work at all.

I'm not a big fan of Ibis hotel as the Italian ones are pretty low level,

I came back in January and asked from the beginning for an warm room.They said that all rooms are the same, due to the heating system,

but I also became sick for 2 weeks due to the air conditioning system.

However, we managed with window ventilation at night.

It was far too warm in the room as the air conditioning did not work very well, even through I put the temperature gauge down to 15C!

however it was the lack of hand towels, spare pillows, waste bin in bedroom, tea & coffee and extractor in the bathroom that emphasised a no-frills approach.

"climate control" in the room seems to be for heating only.

The facility is modern with air conditioning, something I didn't think I would need in Austria.

All this while, this one facility was so basic that I never considered it. air-conditioning!

but my room has a residual smell of cigarettes - the bathroom is ample and clean, but without a soap and shampoo, using in the place of them a all-uses higienic liquid instead (like others Ibis unit - but not all).

The air conditioning was not very powerful and being Accor, the internet was slow unless you pay for a night what some people pay a week at home.

but maintained at usual housekeeping standards for the empty rooms: 95% clean( ventilation system was a little dusty for example).

Since I was traveling in October, no air conditioning seemed not an issue at the time.

It was a hot day and even with the curtains drawn and the air con set to 15 degrees from when I checked in (1200) it was still baking hot in the room when I returned some 7 hours later.

The hotel is basic & does not include tea & coffee facilities or air-con in the room so this may affect your sleep quality.

What I like most are:
- the soap, which is not longer in sachet
- the free wireless connection available in all the structure at satisfactory speed
- the nearness to all public transport means

There was just a little flaw, which is the air coming from the ventilation duct (I think), that cannot be regulated.

Bed and pillow too hard and of course the lack of A/C was a problem since it was so hot.

Breakfast was good, fresh, everywhere clean and tidy.

The staff were nice and efficient and the breakfast at £8.95 each was self service and as much as you could eat.

Breakfast was excellent, great variety, bake your own waffles!
