but the use of the parking card was complicated and not well-explained by staff.

First of all they ask for an authorisation on your business card for every night of your stay + 50 euro per night in case you take something from the bar (meaning 149 x 3 + 150  for a 3 nights staying in adouble room  = 597 €).

A trainee accidentally blocked some money on my credit card.

but our room cards weren't working, so we had them reprogrammed and it worked.

and don't forget to register your visa card when you check in otherwise they'll refuse to deliver your order , even your company as an account in the hotel.

There was also an option not to have the room serviced every day (via a card on the door).

She didn't accept the credit card we offered for securing the room,

but I'm really fed up of taxes - why the hell does the city have to charge taxes from people who visits her?!)

Every staff member we encountered, at reception and in the breakfast room, was friendly, helpful and professional.

Staff were very helpful and nothing seemed to much hassle to do for you.

We had to stand around and wait for someone to check us in and out a bit annoying.

15min waiting for order fulfillment (it was wine and water - waitress had to come after a while to ask what we ordered).

I have had some issues with long waiting rows at the coffee machines.

although i would say that it may be a little understaffed as we had to wait quite a while for check in as well as checking out with just 1 staff at the counter during the times we were there and the lack of additional staff for security at the main entrance is evident as well.

To be justice:
+ for location ( very central)
+ for the room standard
- for staff (they were angry and had no service mind specially at breakfast)
- for braekfast (very poor and often food is finish so we had to wait)
- for elevators (normal to wait 5 minutes before it come with space)
- for hotel resturant (expensive and not testy food)
We would not take that hotel agaim

but I didn't so much as hear anyone talking in the hall or closing a door or waiting for the elevator (and my room was closest to the elevator).

You do not need to wait to be seated, apparently no one is and staff is not using the counter in the entry area.

After a short stay in the centre we took our car and drove to Vienna

For my wife and I that didn't matter, we're happy to walk into the centre, even after dinner as LInz had a safe feel to it.

The negative thing abt this wAs it wS abt 20mins walk from the train station and 15-20mins walk to town centre.

Modern, efficient, with its own garage and in walking distance to the city center.

Location is near the city centre so you can walk and enjoy the city.

The hotel is easy to find and is next to a big convention centre.

Bottomline: very good hotel, I definitely recommend it to all travellers who do not insist on the very center of the city.

It is a 20 minute walk to the city center,

The modern hotel is about 15 minutes walking time to the very centre of Linz,has ample parking.

high speed internet everywhere, walking distance to the city center and train station, very good breakfast and dinner.

Hotel is quite far from Linz City Centre and first 15 minutes-walk to the city is very quite and hence not enjoyable to walk.

It's right by the Design Center, so very convenient if you are there for an event, less convenient if you want to be at the heart of town for sightseeing purposes (It's about 15 min. walk to the nearest pharmacy, store, cafe etc.)

The Courtyard is a modern, clean and decent hotel about a mile from the centre of Linz.

It is NOT walkable at all unless you are going to the conference center next door.

the only negative is the narrow drive in the front and the way the wall is built doesn't lend itself to easy open doors.

There were only two, related, bad points:

1) The cleaning staff knocked on the door of our room each morning, before eight o'clock, then walked straight in without waiting, even on the day we left when we did not need to checkout until midday.

a small rubber pad on each door would fix it.

There are tables and chairs for eating light meals, stools at small tables both at the bar and elsewhere, and along one wall some very comfortable seating that is really only suitable for large groups of people (attending exhibitions next door?).

Finally the internet connection was quite bad, and this should be fixed I think.

A little issue on checkout (wrong invoice I didn't check at the moment), promptly fixed via email.

The internet conked out that night and was not fixed while we were there.

When I had difficulty connecting to the hotel's high speed internet in my guestroom, the front desk immediately sent up a staff member to fix it.

Comfortable beds, great breakfast, very friendly staff.

The only negative I would level at the hotel is the 20 euro overnight parking charge - the seemed very steep.

I was a bit surprised about the absence of sleeppers and high parking rate.

Overall expirience is really good.

The buffet breakfast was quite poor, in quantity and quality and we didn't get any service from the hotel staff.

but this one is not getting a poor rating because of the accomodations.

Breakfast Monday was overpriced and a poor value so we had the continental buffet breakfast in the bar that  was quite good and a much better value.

but poor choices in English unless you want news.

Some of the procedures made sense, such as a maximum number in the bar and restaurant, and limiting the number of guests in a lift.

The breakfast foods were heavenly good, with much variety.

The breakfast buffet offers lots of choice and the foods are delicious.

Very good restaurant with warm welcome, good service and tasty dishes.

Least to say it felt like a second home: we had an amazing service from the front desk, their manager to the housekeeping and restaurant staff.

In the positive of the Hotel is the restaurant which is quite decent and the food is tasteful with few choices.

Breakfast is excellent,although very busy when we staid.they do have a well-stocked pantry at very reasonable prices which comes convenient if you don't feel like eating in the restaurant.I had a chance to try the restaurant on an earlier visit and it was excellent with a comfortable outdoor garden if it's the right time of the year..too cold this time.

Linz city is nice with a lot of shops and restaurants.

Our hotel room stank, as if somebody had done a number 1 on the carpet.

Could be improved:  About time that carpets and some room fittings were replaced or renovated; breakfast was offered until 10:30,

There bathroom was tiny, bed was hard, the TV was the old Grundig 19" color, cheap phone, outdoor carpet inside and the prize was a matched pair of school chairs that was uncomfortable and very hard.

And the hotel's location is wonderful - directly across from the main railway station (without in any way being noisy), and an easy walk to the city centre.

There is everything for a comfortable nights stay from a comfortable room, delicious  breakfast to a convenient location near the main  railway station and not too far from the city centre.

to the historical center of Linz you can easely walk 15 min.

A very nice and decent hotel, very close from city center, convinent and clean.

We were travelling by train so the Ibis is extremely convenient for the station and there are excellent tram links into town despite the hotel being quite a long way from the centre.

It is also well situated for visiting the cultural sites of the City of Linz, a city I was to find was remarkably rich in cultural sources.
