I am not so much into the charm of old Hotels with small rooms and tiny bathrooms, so would normally have given 3 stars.

Me and my boyfriend's luggage barely fit in the room and the bathroom was as small and as dark as a closet.

The bathrooms are a tad on the dirty side as well with mold starting to grow in between the tiles and splash marks on the mirrors and walls.

The rooms are all non smoking and the lady at the front desk did not care nor did she ask them to stop smoking/investigate so I had to live with it.

The only slight criticism would be the that the tiling in the shower needed re grouting as a lot of it was mouldy.

or obviously replacing unwanted food (absolutely disgusting), left me feeling ashamed to be from the same country.

The only downside for us was that our room always smelled of cigarette smoke.

but these were slightly larger, had the rounded front, charming details (herringbone wood floors, ceiling moldings).

Who would have thought since breathing costs you about 10 cents each breath in this country.

The two negative things I can think of is that we had to remove the drain cover from our bathroom sink in order for the water to drain, and our showerhead spewed water until my boyfriend fixed it.

All in all Cannes was expensive and many of the people there filthy rich.

From the nauseating smell of burning candles downstairs to snobby staff who clearly hates Americans, this is not a place to stay in Cannes.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and the evening happy hour was a wonderful way to relax before heading out to dinner.

The staff was amazing, food was delicious, the hotel was perfectly located walking distance to the beach and shopping center.

It’s one my extremely bad experiences at JW Marriott , if you are a loyal member or you have titanium or Ambassador status  with Bonvoy program do go their , or even you think to use some of your points , this hotel like only cash payment or open credit , it’s very disappointing and it’s now to be back, they charge half of the original room price extra because of sea view room and they even they don’t upgrade my room, note that booked my room 150 days ago.

Because if you need to charge a phone , you have to unplug the lamp at night.

The only negative is the beach club, very expensive and not really affiliated with the Marriott, you cannot charge to your room nor do you get any discount for staying at the hotel.

but the smoking smell in the room like hell we couldn’t sleep at night cz of that smell and specially at night I don’t know if from the AC or from the lobby , what I know it’s désastre , there mattress should be changed when u sleep u feel u want to run to the middle of the mattress

two males enter the room to make up the bed and whilst I am sitting in the corner charging my phone which was by this point ‘completely out of battery’, one of the males looks at me, leans over me with his finger pointed in my face and shouts “no telephones and no videos” I’m sure you can imagine my complete and utter shock at both this and his threatening behaviour.

If you try to get an answer from them why they overcharged you they just ignore you.

There was a white ticket on the tray which I did not take…I just took the cutlery…I sincerely hope it was there was not a charge.

Double check the bill and informed them for the charges to be voided.

The hotel graciously let me check out without penalty, charging me only for the one night I was there after I said I wasn’t happy with the hotel.

Rooms does not offer sufficient outlets to charge your telephones, iPads, PC.

I'm certainly not impressed by the JW Marriott, CANNES,FR and they should NOT be charging the rates that they do!

As PP, I had to have multiple conversations with the staff to inform them of the Marriott Rewards amenities so that I wasn't charged.

Budget travellers  beware on arrival at the hotel the receptionist will ask for your credit card and 'block' the card at the rate of 100 euros per night for incidentals i.e.

but its means absolutely nothing, because all hotels that have the beach (e.g., Carlton, Martinez) charge in-house guests extra for the beach use.

We just spent five amazing nights in this hotel with stunning views and a friendly staff.

Al thought at first it seemed a bit pricey, once I arrived I felt differently.

My only complaint is the cost for a chaise lounge at the beach is extremely expensive and exorbitant.

I paid over 1500 euros a night and would never in my wildest dreams think that they are so greedy that they need to come up with extra charges for things you don’t have ordered or used and refuses to leave an explanation or anything.

The staff are friendly and helpful- particularly Kevin at the main reception who went above and beyond and is a credit to the hotel.

Despite the hotel not being ideal for young children , having no pool and age limited access to the spa, I have rarely if ever met a more friendly and accommodating staff.

The best part of the trip was Kevin on the reception desk, who was super helpful and friendly, and was always smiling.

The “private beach” isn’t for the hotel, it is for anyone who wants to pay to use the sun beds, again misleading based on the website descriptions.

and breakfast was limited & overpriced for what it was. No mini bar in the room (you had to purchase very limited drinks & snacks from reception!)

And price is definitely needs to be cut down to half for what you get.

When I paid the entitire sum at the end of the day (over +100euros) they kept screaming at me with 5 people (let me repeat that I showed them that I paid) until I was cryogene.

but no where near worth the near 1000 euro that I paid for the weekend.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, and amongst the most expensive.

We paid extra for a sea view room expecting a balcony, and an non obstructed sea view, they said that it was the only open room

however the hotel’s own beach is not cheap at euro 25 per person/day.

Its expensive, disorganized and the food is average.

Even the breakfast, for the price you pay for rooms was extremely disappointing and I noted other guests speaking about this also.

Just ensure you check whether you are booking one of the standard rooms with no view vs. the suite or apartments which are significantly more expensive.

Paying 20€ for a sun bed and 8€ for a towel is a rip off!!

Never stayed in a hotel where you have to pay to use the beach or towels, and never take beach towels in luggage as they are generally provided by the hotel.

however, a bit of a let down with a very limited choice to choose from, and any hot food had an extra cost over the breakfast rate.

The hotel felt & looked tired, the rooms were small with a view of a wall & little natural sunlight. There was no bar or evening restaurant open (may be out of season?)

Although the room is a just a little on the small side, the deck makes it feel a little bigger.

but some friends met up with us and they said their room was tiny.

but I guess together with a bathroom because the room itself was quite small.

These rooms are VERY small and we couldnt even fit the suitcase in the cupboard.

Along the window side of the room was a small desk area and low table where the TV sat, next to the coffee/tea maker (making it impossible to watch from the bed).

When we asked to be moved, we were offered a room just as small and with an even worse view!

Originally I didn't want to book here as I thought the standard room would be too small

But that aside it is a lovely and very convenient hotel, and the staff is really accommodating!

Great location, about 20 minute walk to old Antibes, 15 minutes to Juan Les Pins and over the road from the hotel owned beach club (which is worth a visit, make sure to reserve a bed in advance) - really helpful reception staff and comfortable room - would recommend!

When I came back later I asked about the charges and a different front desk person said the same thing I need to speak to a manager.

We also had another issue regarding our credit card that was their fault and we rectified it

Meals charged to our bill on check out that were not our meals !!

All staff members were really diligent from checkin to checkout where I believe ‘loic’ dealt with some minor checkout issues very diligently as I had paid with separate cards and appeared to have some charges added accidentally.

To add insult to injury, the hotel still had the audacity to charge me 112 euros for breakfast, despite knowing that all my cash had been stolen along with my wallet and documents.

During our stay, twice we were charged for sunbeds that we did not use and a bottle of champagne that we did not order.

We booked the night through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts--I had emailed the property prior to our arrival and requested that we would be able to check in at noon, one of the benefits of FHR.

beside that the sun beds were with charge even for the guests was weird

I booked a pedicure that I missed from not feeling well after travel and was not given the courtesy of having it done later that week without a repeat charge.

I finally go to the property and the suggestion was to book for the day after i left and if I could send them my credit card information as soon as possible or else i would risk losing it.

I was travelling with my baby dog and while they charge a supplement they wouldn't even put a bowl for her water.

Perhaps management would consider waiving this charge on reducing it on quieter days.

The front desk provided an electrical adapter at no charge.
