The carpet was filthy, the shower tub had hair on the floor and there was enough dirty nasty hair on the bathroom floor to make a wig.

The shower was broke it was shooting water on the ceiling.

Can't speak for amenities as don't use them.

The lighting in the bathroom could have been better, and the shower head in the tub was not adjustable.

At one point I had to run to my car for some toiletries.

Don't even get me started about the water pressure in the shower. Amazing!.

I was not greeted with amenity points or check out assured of the issues that were caused.

but some of the interior is starting to show age (carpeting, shower curtains).

although the bath towel I used was getting threadbare and felt stiff from many launderings.

The only problem was the shower, the tub did not drain fast.

but between the fuel plaza and the hotel amenities, I don't see where you really need anything else for a travel stop.

When we arrived we were given an handicapped-accessible king room without the spa bath.

There was one lonely shampoo bottle on the counter and the toilet would only flush if you stood there and held the handle down the entire flushing time, we almost had a need for a plunger at one point. The refrigerator was missing the bottom door rack and a door to the "freezer."

One problem I had was that the dead bolt door lock did not engage and the bathroom fan did not work.

The fitness center is the size of a bathroom and reaks of mold not to mention the equipment is completely outdated.

There are no restaurants nearby other than the truck stop next door.

The pool door can be pushed to open, no latch or any other safety measures to keep kids out.

Lots of door slamming by other guests and a herd of elephants wa sin the room above us marching after midnight,  Skip the free breakfast and go next door to Duncan Donuts or McDonalds.

The noise only stopped when one of the people next door to us left that room to go back to their own room.

She proceeded to tell me the door never locks.

I also had a privacy sign on my door so that it wouldn't be disturbed,

The night clerk came up,  knocked on their door and even called them with no response.

but, this hotel stays on top of their house cleaning and when i got to our room and opened the door there was no smell of smoke and that was really great.

We smelled the smoking next door through the night.

It would've been nicer if the prep room door wasn't open and I didn't have to see where the food came from.

The door to the room had a large gap so that you could see out to the hallway near the bottom edge,

It was so nice to have a reservation when the sign on the door said NO Vacancies.

The next morning, we received a knock on our door at about 8:30 am.

Then they gave us a key to the room next door so we could use the bathroom and take a shower cause we couldn't use the toilet or shower in our room.

Walked up to our room after check-in and there were trash bags all up and down the hallway in front of every door.

but I think they could use more help cleaning rooms --- other than that -- and the door to the room leaking light in  due to big gap around door jam -- it was good for the price and location.

The price was good, the rooms were clean, those who were working there were friendly and professional.

The staff is very friendly, helpful and polite.

The people are friendly, the rooms are clean and above all the beds are great.

We stopped on our drive down to FL with our young children and we’re given room “201.” We walked in at 11PM into a room that smelled like cat urine and dog feces.

There was a bad odor in room refrigerator so we wrapped our leftovers extra well so the odor would not transfer.

The only negative I would note is that the gravy was cold. Yuck.

The gym is extremely small and stinky, the opening hours do not fit for business people.

The 3rd floor near the elevator smelled heavily of cigar smoke.

but i get a headache and can't sleep due to the smell of smoke. This is a great place to stay even for a night or a week they also have a "Great Continiental Breakfast!"

Upon entering, my nose was assaulted by the pool smell.

The chair in our room was filthy with huge stains on it, I've seen cleaner furniture at a frat house.

Room was just filthy and linens dirty, never will stay there again, left first in the morning , absolutely not 3.5 rating.We did not complain because we arrived around 1015 pm and it was late , just wanted to take a good nap.

Reservations set us up with a handicapped room which was not what we needed, we asked for a non smoking room.

Someone left the window open on my third floor room and a fire down the road brought smoke smell into the room.

The place smelled bad like mildew and beds very poor condition, security was a problem.

The room was clean, The business center was closed, The front desk clerk was not very helpful.

As for the positives, the staff has always been very nice and attentive.

The Hotel was good for the price the staff were very kind and happy to help.

Breakfast was decent, the staff was helpful the couple times I interacted with them.

Staff went out of the way to exceed our expectations.

never felt so warmly greeted from the staff.

There is a suspect known to the hotel staff that cruises through the hotel parking lot looking for things to steal.

With some sprucing up and classes in hospitality for the staff it could be so much better.

Front desk was very courteous and helpful both in the evening check-in and morning check-out.

All of the staff/associates were very nice and especially to a lady in housekeeping named Rachel.

We received a genuine “welcome” upon arriving at this clean and comfortable hotel.

but I did notice that the host interacted with other guests in a more friendly manner.

But what really made Abingdon special was the very friendly innkeepers, Michael and Patty.

The  six course fixe prix menu was delicious,  lovely presentations, served by friendly, attentive servers, and boasted a small

Add in friendly owners and staff and you really can't do better.

The innkeeper was friendly and shared some fun and informative information about the location and surrounding area.

There were about a dozen friendly and upscale guests at dinner that evening, and everyone commented on the superb quality of the dining experience.

Paige was our hostess and she was so friendly and kind our entire stay.

The owners/Innkeepers were warm, friendly and accommodating.

The owners are super friendly and very accommodating to the guest's needs.

The owners are friendly, attentive and accommodating.

The other 2 couples were friendly and we enjoyed chatting.

The owners were very hospitable and friendly - we did not want for a thing.

The Inn Keeper and Chef were engaging, friendly, and ever attentive to our needs.

The innkeeper Michael and his wife Patty are friendly , professional and made us feel so comfortable in every way.

Young ladies that assisted with serving were friendly and competent.

Friendly folks and such good food, Patty was on her own thanks to the chef being off that week, and it couldn't have been better.

Excellent accommodations, food and friendly owners of the Inn.

Friendly staff are there to cater to your needs.

The staff was friendly and very accommodating.

Pat was a gracious and a wonderful host as well as a ONE Man team for Friday night dinner.

These young ladies were extremely helpful, sweet, and thoughtful throughout the visit.

Wife and I have eaten here many times over the years and were curious to see if the food was as good with the new owner.

Huge bathroom!Cocktails were prepared by the owner followed by dinner in the glassed in dining porch.

Beautiful house, welcoming service, and comfortable rooms.

We were greeted by the Chef and met the owner at cocktails time.

We look forward to the opportunity to return and enjoy this lovely manor and the gracious hospitality of the hosts.

The printed menu even featured a personalized anniversary greeting.

cocktail time: 6:30-7 we met w other couples in the ladies parlor.

We were warmly welcomed and escorted to our very large and comfortable bedroom.

I recommend the Abingdon Manor for lovers of the Victorian era and those who appreciate old fashioned style, fashion and the more formal manners of a refined inn.

Mike and Pat take great pride and offer exemplary service.

but she was delightful and very helpful while filling in for the owners.

Our bedroom was sumptuous, exceedingly comfortable.

We love to meet and greet the other guests, socially distanced of course.

The entire staff is very conscious of covid precautions and we felt safe and cared for the entire visit.

The surrounding town of Latta  is  small and not particularly interesting,

The town where it's located doesn't have much to commend it, so just think of the Inn as a destination in and of itself.

The town of Latta isn't anything special,

It was a very inauspicious entry to a very sleepy deserted small  southern town on a very hot June day.

This is a little piece of heaven tucked away in a small town.

Be warned, the little town of Latta is pretty run down, so don't go here expecting good shopping or a charming village.

It is a small town called Latta  about 20 min from Florence and it was quite a find!

It may seem surprising to find such a gem in Latta, SC as that is a small town

There is not much to be said for the little town of Latta,

Their website shows the rooms more beautifully than my iPhone.

Greeted with a complimentary cocktail because the info on the website is off--it is 20 miles from Florence: do not try to find it in Florence!--and just got better from there.

I mentioned that I'd have to get the recipe when I returned home (they share their recipes on their website) and Mike had a copy printed out and ready for me when we checked out.

What you see on their website is just how it is.

I love how you can look on the website to see just what's going to be prepared on certain days.

To make a long review succinct, our disappointment was based upon:
-uncomfortable bed
-charged for wine at cocktail hour when the website implied it was an amenity
-dinner entrée served twice as the first steak was much overcooked; the second served with a substituted watery, flavorless sauce and cold sides; portions for the dinner are also small
-breakfast was a big serving of fruit,

I called as soon as I saw the extra charges and was told to dispute with my credit card company.

Dakota checked us in last night and was very friendly and welcoming.

Front desk was friendly, breakfast was good for grab and go.

This place is spotless, has great staff, great chef, has a clean pool, great exercise center, has a business center.

The staff was polite and explained everything.

Everything was updated, hallways smelled good staff was nice.

We would love to have seen more enthusiastic people working the front desk,

I stayed for a week for work and the staff were very nice and accommodating.

The front desk and hotel staff were very nice an attentive.

The best part of our stay was the staff at check-in.

Staff was very nice and rooms were well appointed.

The staffing levels seemed to be adequate at the desk, self serve breakfast, and room service.

This was excellent in terms of price, incredibly clean lobby and dining area, outstanding breakfast in the midst of a pandemic, kind and helpful front desk at check-in and check-out, AND it’s in a safe and nice part of the state.

Roy the manager was helpful and efficient.

I didn’t have my room serviced Sunday, so had to re-use the towels Monday morning.
