All the breakfast menus were spectacular.

but the meals (breakfast and dinner) were just average while they were exceptional under the old owner.

I highly recommend the inn for its accommodations and its wonderful dinners and breakfast.

No worries, the dinner and breakfast were awesome and the service was top notch.

The Inn is beautiful and the food is delicious and the room so well appointed.

The dinner was exquisite and the breakfast was delicious; both served in a lovely enclosed porch.

And the included hot breakfast and optional dinner were really award-winning meals that rival what you would find in the best restaurants around the world.

The  six course fixe prix menu was delicious,  lovely presentations, served by friendly, attentive servers, and boasted a small

also set menu - scrambled eggs w herbs de provence, french toast soaked in grand marnier, maple sausage, juices, tea/coffee.

Breakfast was delicious each day with multiple juice choices, fresh, ripe fruit, code and something hot, freshly prepared by someone who knows what they are doing.

We sat at the same table for breakfast ( quiche/sausage/fruit) that was beautifully presented on fine breakfast china.

And our breakfast was a wonderful send-off as we climbed back into the SUV for the balance of our trip.

Ample parking out front and you can charge your EV too.

Breakfast was stunning and worth the visit.

We were able to spend three nights and it was a very quiet and relaxing time.

We enjoyed a fantastic 6 course dinner in a peaceful environment.

It really was a perfectly relaxing weekend stay.

Just 5 miles off of I-95, its so convenient and such a beautiful retreat from our busy lives!

From the relaxing atmosphere, evening cocktails, excellent food and first-class service, it was perfect.

My mother had passed away and we needed needed a quiet peaceful nice place to stay.

We stayed at the Abingdon Manor Inn on the way back north and it was perfect- restful and lovely.

He’s a true gentleman who made our visit relaxing and pleasurable.

The Abington Manor was a wonderful, restful oasis after traveling 8 hours on Rt.

The Inn and grounds were so peaceful, comfortable and relaxing.

With all the too do's of a wedding everyday was a relaxing rejuvenation in my private, well-decorated, quiet "Red Room" for the next day's events.

My night there gave me the one night's peaceful sleep I needed before encountering the situation at my house.

The manor is beautiful and we enjoyed rocking on the front porch and after dark we sat on the porch upstairs enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

but peaceful town of Latta,South Carolina we realized the ratings were justified.

I would HIGHLY recommend Abingdon Manor if you are looking for a nice peaceful getaway.

When you first drive onto the property, it is immediately relaxing.

Incidentally as others have said the village of Latta has really easy access to I-95, a great advantage and super relaxing after a long drive.

stayed in this quaint spot off the beaten path in latta, sc on our trek from huntington beach & myrtle beach state parks to visit little pee dee state park.

In truth, we had never heard of Latta, SC so our stop had a touch of trepidation.

We were so fortunate to find this lovely home/inn in a small town north of Florence SC.

We were forced inland and — thanks to our Tesla leading us to a place with a destination charger — we spent a glorious few days with proprietors Mike and Patty Griffey at Abingdon Manor in Latta, SC.

The inn is in Latta SC, about 10 minutes off I-95, in a wonderfully restored 1900s mansion.

Since I really wanted to drive I finally selected The Abingdon Manor in Latta, SC.

We have been here many times over the 15 years in SC.

We were headed to SC for a wedding and reserved a room at Abingdon- the meals were amazing, with lovely breakfast fare and touches (such as violets garnishing the plates) that are rarely seen in most inns.

This is also a lovely place for dinner for anyone in the SC or down east NC area.

My wife and I stumbled upon a terrific B&B in Latta, SC, about 5 miles off I-95 just south of the North Carolina, South Carolina border.

On our way to Charleston, SC we stayed overnight at this beautiful Inn.

We hope to visit again, it is a perfect location, Latta SC is just a few minutes off "I 95".

Do yourself a favor and experiance this 4 diamond gem located about 10 minutes off I-95 in Latta, SC.

We needed a place to stay half-way between Hampton Roads, Va and Brunswick, GA and the Select Registry directed us to the Abingdon Manor in Latta, SC.

We found Pat in the back hastily stuffing tobacco dip into his mouth.

Pat, the new owner reeked of smoke … and his lackluster attempt to give us a history of the place ( while the AC kicked in upstairs) was given like a teacher who’d rather be at home.

Salmon was overcooked (for my taste) and covered in a gooey some sort of icky glaze.

The cocktail 30 minutes included skimpy drinks and store bought snack mix, yuck!

Their website shows the rooms more beautifully than my iPhone.

Greeted with a complimentary cocktail because the info on the website is off--it is 20 miles from Florence: do not try to find it in Florence!--and just got better from there.

I mentioned that I'd have to get the recipe when I returned home (they share their recipes on their website) and Mike had a copy printed out and ready for me when we checked out.

What you see on their website is just how it is.

I love how you can look on the website to see just what's going to be prepared on certain days.

To make a long review succinct, our disappointment was based upon:
-uncomfortable bed
-charged for wine at cocktail hour when the website implied it was an amenity
-dinner entrée served twice as the first steak was much overcooked; the second served with a substituted watery, flavorless sauce and cold sides; portions for the dinner are also small
-breakfast was a big serving of fruit,

Our room was a spacious king on the second floor, featuring an excellent comfy bed and giant windows. We enjoyed a a refined and tasty 6 course menu (fixed price $60, served promptly at 7 ( reserve in advance at time of lodging reservation ) which was accompanied by well selected fine wines  (by the glass or bottle for an additional average $8-9/ $40 btl.)

Went back to the men's parlor with the last of my wine to sit and chat by the fireplace.

I paired my meal with their offered 3 glass wine selection..a great add on.

Thank you for a quiet, comfortable night of rest and a delicious meal with compatible wine to fulfill our tastebuds!

There is a well-stocked wine cellar and a full bar for cocktails.

The inn offers a 6-course meal that changes nightly, with an optional wine pairing.

It was wonderful dining in the sun room and also sipping on a glass of wine while rocking on the front porch.

Our package included the king size room, dinner for 2, wine and strawberries and breakfast in the morning.

The accompanying good red wine helped the situation also.

Dinner was delicious and well presented, 5 courses, very nicely balanced with portions and flavours.The wine list is personally curated, offers good choice and is well priced.

Fantastic 5 course meal, prix fixed, and a good wine list.

The attention to service, etiquette, food, wine makes one begin the planning stages for one's next visit to Abingdon start as soon as you being to drive away.

Feather bed, Fireplace, and southern hospitality, wine and wonderful breakfest.

Dinner was preceded by very good wines and cocktails.

What gem, an historic inn, Patty is a gourmet chef and Michael's wine knowledge and house selections were impressive.

The carpet was filthy, the shower tub had hair on the floor and there was enough dirty nasty hair on the bathroom floor to make a wig.

The shower was broke it was shooting water on the ceiling.

Can't speak for amenities as don't use them.

The lighting in the bathroom could have been better, and the shower head in the tub was not adjustable.

At one point I had to run to my car for some toiletries.

Don't even get me started about the water pressure in the shower. Amazing!.

I was not greeted with amenity points or check out assured of the issues that were caused.

but some of the interior is starting to show age (carpeting, shower curtains).

although the bath towel I used was getting threadbare and felt stiff from many launderings.

The only problem was the shower, the tub did not drain fast.

but between the fuel plaza and the hotel amenities, I don't see where you really need anything else for a travel stop.

When we arrived we were given an handicapped-accessible king room without the spa bath.

There was one lonely shampoo bottle on the counter and the toilet would only flush if you stood there and held the handle down the entire flushing time, we almost had a need for a plunger at one point. The refrigerator was missing the bottom door rack and a door to the "freezer."

One problem I had was that the dead bolt door lock did not engage and the bathroom fan did not work.

The fitness center is the size of a bathroom and reaks of mold not to mention the equipment is completely outdated.

Watery eggs,  microwaved rubber sausage patties,  make your own waffles and a selection of toast.

Breakfast was decent, the staff was helpful the couple times I interacted with them.

The breakfast area was full of many choices and all were fresh and there was plenty of room for many people.

Staff was very friendly , our room was very clean and we felt very safe

Hot breakfast included in the stay which included hot waffles, sausage, eggs and sausage gravy.

The breakfast was was well stocked and everything kept in order.

Everything was great; clean room, reasonable price, friendly staff, and full hot breakfast.

Breakfast to go was two prepackaged high carb muffins, a granola bar, water and a green orange.

We were impressed with the French Oast at breakfast, had not seen that before at BW, and sanitizer there as well.

The room was very clean, the breakfast was good.

Excellent employees, rooms very clean; hot breakfast, easy check in and check out also great rewards.

We left before breakfast started so the delightful desk clerk made us both to-go breakfasts for the road.

There are no restaurants nearby other than the truck stop next door.

The pool door can be pushed to open, no latch or any other safety measures to keep kids out.

Lots of door slamming by other guests and a herd of elephants wa sin the room above us marching after midnight,  Skip the free breakfast and go next door to Duncan Donuts or McDonalds.

The noise only stopped when one of the people next door to us left that room to go back to their own room.

She proceeded to tell me the door never locks.

I also had a privacy sign on my door so that it wouldn't be disturbed,

The night clerk came up,  knocked on their door and even called them with no response.

but, this hotel stays on top of their house cleaning and when i got to our room and opened the door there was no smell of smoke and that was really great.

We smelled the smoking next door through the night.

It would've been nicer if the prep room door wasn't open and I didn't have to see where the food came from.

The door to the room had a large gap so that you could see out to the hallway near the bottom edge,

It was so nice to have a reservation when the sign on the door said NO Vacancies.

The next morning, we received a knock on our door at about 8:30 am.

Then they gave us a key to the room next door so we could use the bathroom and take a shower cause we couldn't use the toilet or shower in our room.

Walked up to our room after check-in and there were trash bags all up and down the hallway in front of every door.

but I think they could use more help cleaning rooms --- other than that -- and the door to the room leaking light in  due to big gap around door jam -- it was good for the price and location.

The price was good, the rooms were clean, those who were working there were friendly and professional.

The staff is very friendly, helpful and polite.

This hotel was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was very good.

We stopped on our drive down to FL with our young children and we’re given room “201.” We walked in at 11PM into a room that smelled like cat urine and dog feces.

There was a bad odor in room refrigerator so we wrapped our leftovers extra well so the odor would not transfer.

The only negative I would note is that the gravy was cold. Yuck.

The gym is extremely small and stinky, the opening hours do not fit for business people.

The 3rd floor near the elevator smelled heavily of cigar smoke.

but i get a headache and can't sleep due to the smell of smoke. This is a great place to stay even for a night or a week they also have a "Great Continiental Breakfast!"

Upon entering, my nose was assaulted by the pool smell.

The chair in our room was filthy with huge stains on it, I've seen cleaner furniture at a frat house.

Room was just filthy and linens dirty, never will stay there again, left first in the morning , absolutely not 3.5 rating.We did not complain because we arrived around 1015 pm and it was late , just wanted to take a good nap.

Reservations set us up with a handicapped room which was not what we needed, we asked for a non smoking room.

Someone left the window open on my third floor room and a fire down the road brought smoke smell into the room.

The place smelled bad like mildew and beds very poor condition, security was a problem.

Will now make Best Western our choice to stay when traveling.

It is half way between NY and Fla.  We will definately stay again in our travels.

My boyfriend and I were traveling up from FL on 95 and this was right off the highway being super convenient.

Will stay again on frequent travels through

Indoor pool would be great if traveling with kids.

A good value for a weary motorcycle traveler.

Best Western has become my default 1-night-stay hotel over the last 2 years, whether personal or business travel..  Only 2 idiosyncrasies: (1) Room keys must be reprogrammed if key gets too close to I-phone.

A friend was stranded during her travels due to Hurricane Florence.

Excellent stop for the night after a long day of travel.

Recommend for all travelers for short or long term stay.

We stay at this Best Western, when we travel to and from Sarasota for the winter.

Front desk made check in easy after a long day of traveling.

I would rate this last stay an "excellent" value for your traveling dollar.

We made use of the fitness center, and ate the complimentary breakfast in the morning.

I love the toiletry products ("J.R.Watkins", and the hot bar breakfast that is served.

The staffing levels seemed to be adequate at the desk, self serve breakfast, and room service.

This was excellent in terms of price, incredibly clean lobby and dining area, outstanding breakfast in the midst of a pandemic, kind and helpful front desk at check-in and check-out, AND it’s in a safe and nice part of the state.

Front desk was friendly, breakfast was good for grab and go.

Breakfast was a to go bag and choice of hot breakfast sandwiches, which was fine.
