Great location with gorgeous views of the coast.

blessed with one of the country's most photogenic locations, enjoying commanding cliffside views of the coast and ocean, the original designers saw fit to place the hotel's pool in the middle of the resort,  nowhere near the front.

Certainly the hotel has a nice view of the coast.

I wanted to propose to my girlfriend in a beautiful setting on the Pacific coast and I chose this location.

The room was very nice with a great view of the coast line of The Pacific Ocean.

The hillside setting is quiet, offers great privacy and has amazing views of the coastline along with incredible sunsets.

This is the nicest resort for visiting the Big Sur, Pfieffer Beach, and many of the nice stop along the California Pacific coast.

The restaurant and bar have very best view of the sea shore and food is good breakfast, dinner and good wines.

The best view of the coastline is from the main building cocktail lounge.

The best thing about this hotel is the location outside of Carmel, directly facing the beautiful coastline and ocean.

The proximity of this resort to the Pacific coastal spots of Point Lobos, PCH and Big Sur are awesome!

The hotel is located high atop the hills along highway 1 with stunning views of the coast.

Lovely resort with a spectacular view of the North California Pacific coastline.

Absolutely spectacular view of the Central valley coastline and ocean.

Gorgeous views of the Pacific and the coast line.

Each rustic room has a wood fireplace and a good view of the coast.

Sit in the lounge and enjoy the one of a kind views of the coast framed by cantelevored floor to ceiling windows.

The Carmel Highland HRC has an outstanding location and views of California coast.

The main building was fine and the restaurant has an amazing view to the rocky coast and the ocean.

but no matter as this is the most romantic place to stay for us outside the Costa Brava or Paris.

However, with a hotel at this price, I wouldn't expect towels are yellow and old, saw someone else's hair on it.

Did not try the onsite dining or onsite spa as very pricey.

To make matters worse, we got changed a $20 daily “resort” fee lending the question, why?

Others have pointed this out: this hotel is not a good value for the price.

I have no idea what we paid for the room,

It is not the experience I expected for the price as charged.

And the price was completely ridiculous for what we got vs expected.

For the price of the meals, the takeout was not satisfactory.

but the Hyatt never got paid due to Expedias unsavory business practices.

Paid "extra" for an ocean view room with fireplace and ended up with a gigantic trees and bushes blocking most of the ocean view and a room hanging over the front entrance of the hotel so TONS of traffic noise and dumpsters just below.

Carmel is very expensive and unfortunately the hotels here are as well.

The rates that are being charged currently while the pandemic continues and services cut back are ridiculous.

.. overpriced, overworked staff and apparently purchased by MARRIOTT three years ago. .

Carmel and Monterey are very expensive areas in the summer.

To top it all , it was extremely over priced for this terrible experience

The reply from Marriott Corporate Counsel states, “Please note that should Owners fail to pay amounts due related to the HRC Interest, a foreclosure proceeding may be initiated against the Owners”.

Also be aware, our room was on first floor, and we could hear everything from the upstairs guests when they were in their room.

We were able to switch to room 536 which was just perpendicular & on the top floor - so no more stomping above us & slightly less road noise, & the room did not smell - it just didnt have a working fireplace (which use Duraflame logs, not true firewood that the timeshares use, btw).

It was quite loud and hard to hear the receptionist behind the plexiglass shield.

Sounds like it's time to do some upgrading.

We stayed here for a night, the room was old and the jacuzzi was so loud that as soon as we used it, the reception called us with noise complaints from neighbors- if it’s so loud that it cannot be used, there is no point in having it in there.

My main issue during this visit was that there was on-going construction on Highway 1 at night which meant being stuck in traffic (not moving) for at least 30 to 40 minutes during dinnertime.

Part of Highway 1 was closed further down the road and Point Lobos park was also closed so maybe that prevented a lot of traffic.

But unfortunately, we didnt get the chance to enjoy the balcony or the sound of the waves, as first , its right by the PCH 1 freeway we hear cars more than waves crashing and then we are inhaling not fresh clean sea breeze air

If you opt for an "ocean-view" room, you will hear the road noise.

Poor quality noisy rooms with uncomfortable basic bathrooms - not a luxury destination resort.

Tiny, uncomfortable ill-equipped bathrooms, noisy rooms (can hear everything neighbors do), dated decor.

My only complaint is due to it being an older hotel, you can hear EVERYTHING.

You always hear people complain about their timeshare and not worth it, and see ads on how to get out of them,

The only disappointment was not hearing from the Concierge in response to my email indicating it our our anniversary.

What I received, 1) dirty room — bugs and dusty a/c, —  2) couldn’t care less service and mediocre food in the restaurant,  3) lots of road and hot tub noise easily heard through the paper-thin walls, and 4) closet-sized exercise facility with creaky equipment.

Your are above highway 1 so there is a lot of traffic noise at all hours.

But the buildings are old and wooden, and there is no sound insulation.

The food at the restaurant was very good,

They have sweeping views from the rooms and the restaurant; sunset is prime and vast.

The restaurant kept the kitchen open late for us to serve a light meal following our late arrival.

The good: Jaw dropping views, excellent lobby, bar/lounge, and restaurant.

but lovely menu for dinner should weather make leaving the property hazardous.

The main building, restaurant and bar were updated, offering incredible architecture, world class views, exceptional staff and decent food.

We made plans three weeks before for a  very special anniversary dinner at the Highlands Inn.

Breakfast at the restaurant was very quiet first thing.

There restaurant was great (shout out to Riva who took great care of my family), and service overall was good.

-Location…it is very quiet and easy to get around
-Not crowded 
-Hot Tubs and Pools are nice
-The grounds are very scenic
-Restaurant food is decent and it has air conditioning!

What a fun weekend going to the Clamfest The misic was great, the food trucks were unique many familiar ones and some new ones including a vegan food truck!!

The restaurant there is wonderful and highly recommended.

Enough time in a barracks taught me the benefits of cold showers and I promised my wife extra good wine with dinner if she would suffer through one so we could go off to our dinner at the hotels restaurant with a view.

The lounge and restaurant views are outstanding.

There are a few great restaurants within 10 min.

but they had food available breakfast and lunch.

We enjoyed our romantic wood fire which was set up nicely,

It was really romantic with the view at dusk.

For a romantic getaway with ocean views on a cliffs edge that’s quiet and relaxing look no further.

Perfect location very close to Point Lobos Reserve, lovely units with balcony and ocean view, romantic fire place in the room.

One of the most romantic locations anywhere on the planet.

No need to leave the property as the Restaurant is excellent where we enjoyed a romantic sunset dinner.

It was raining so it was very romantic to have the fireplace going and listening to the rain.

The oversized soaking tub was perfect, the fireplace was sooo romantic ( I loved that there was firewood readily available).

WOW, you can't find a more romantic place with beautiful ocean views and a wood burning fireplace, prepared daily, on the west coast!

Carmel is a lovely choice for a romantic getaway.

Rooms with the fireplace are so romantic and also keep you warm and cozy as the evening fog comes rolling in to the shore.

We definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a romantic stay in Carmel.

Plenty of wood and kindling and newspapers to burn and start a beautiful romantic fire for two!!

The view looked straight out over the ocean and rolling hills, very romantic.

As you can see, nothing about this trip lived up to my expectations of a romantic anniversary weekend with my husband.

This destroyed my stay and excitement which could’ve been so much better otherwise with great views and rooms they’ve to offer.

Yet there we were, in our beautiful room overlooking the hotel's lovingly landscaped grounds and Point Lobos State Reserve, real fireplace burning up a storm (as were many others), peacefully reading to the occasional popping of the burning wood.

Diego at registration desk was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful ocean view room without us asking.

The view was great, we had an ocean view room.

The views from the rooms are wonderful and the service was great--for every issue, someone responded promptly.

We stayed in an ocean view room and it was perfect.

They only had garden view rooms at the time, which was fine as we were looking to relax.

We had a superb view of the ocean from our room and also from our balcony,

We  made a nightly fire in our fire place.

I would add that the ocean view rooms with fireplaces are good,

I booked an ocean view room with fireplace and it was a beautiful room with an additional balcony facing the pool.

There is a view of the ocean in a lot of rooms.

Upon arrival they upgraded our room to an ocean view suite and my god are the views unreal.

We were given an ocean view room with a balcony on both ends of the room.

We had a ocean view room with a fireplace and maybe that is one reason that we had a perfect experience at this Hyatt.

We stayed in a room that had ocean views with a fireplace and it was impeccable.

Loved everything about resort --- homey, comfortable, welcoming, nice staff, great amenities, etc.

Thank you to manager Aaron Dominguez (who hails from my hometown of El Paso) and Tracy at the front desk for their assistance and kindness!

We needed some packing tape for a box going to the airport and the front desk attendant took care of us.

The staff are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly without being invasive.

The very nice lady at the front desk upgraded us to a suite.

We have come often enough to get to know Manager Shaniya Barnett and her able assistants, Levyt Santiago and Tracy Sime.

The front desk redirected us and with the help of other guests we finally found our room 40 min later.

We pulled up to the registration area and the attendant was very nice and told us where to park while we registered.

The valet staff were consistently nice and friendly, as well as helpful with my luggage.

I’ll start with the pro’s, the breakfast I thought was still really good, the views are fantastic, the hot tubs are nice and the valet staff were good.

our room was situated such that gaining any kind of vehicular access to unload our ample luggage was a serious ballet.

-Every employee  is so very nice and will bend over backwards to make sure you are having a good time.

Friendly staff and location is good - we could get to almost any interesting location within a few minutes driving.

First, the staff was great across the board, and the views are spectacular!

The property has gorgeous views, especially from the restaurant.

Good news, the view is still fantastic and the towels and sheets are clean and white.

The one solid positive is the location and view, the location of this propery is great and why I chose it in the first place.

I would only come here for the nice view, nothing else.

From my balcony (210) we had an incredible view of the ocean and daily mist.

Wonderful experience all around: amazing location with panoramic views, modern well-appointed rooms, great service.

Staying at the Highlands Inn affords great views of the ocean and some parts of Point Lobos.

Breakfast was 4 stars and had a nice view of the ocean.

The view is what you are paying for so select a unit that has a good one.

View of ocean is wonderful from unit we had.

Beautiful ocean view, quaint yet modern rooms, lots of plants, close by to point lobos state park, Carmel, Monterey, Big Sur.

I’m done staying here and it’s too bad given the potential beautify of the location and views it has.

The first room we had was much too noisy - aircon too noisy and if I opened the window- the hotel aircon mashinery was right outside on the roof.

but the lack of air conditioning was problematic because the temperature was over 85 degrees the three days we visited.

The downside was that it was very hot and No air conditioning.

I can’t believe that 30% of the rooms in this hotel don’t have air conditioning!

the AC was so noisy one could not sleep with the AC on and the panels of the AC grills were not properly fixed to the ceiling.

However our main complaint would be the lack of AC, probably not an issue in t during the colder months

Their ventilation system can not handle the smoke that intrudes into the halls and more.

On checkout I told the representative that our bathroom fan was filthy and showed a picture, to which she responded "I will report that right now".

Our room faced west with no AC so it was about 90F in our room.

On the downside, our room had a portable A/C unit sitting on the floor with a tube running from it and out a hole in the window.

The room has NO A/C , it only has standing fan and ceiling fan. 2.

The electrician and the male staff at the front desk used the excuse of "the hotel is old" to explain that we cannot use the air conditioner with other electricities together at the time.

The suite had heaters on the balconies and the room temperatures were easily controlled.

My only complaint worthy of mentioning is I did not have Air Conditioning in my room.

The room did have air conditioning via a stand alone unit which was very noisy, meaning we had the choice of trying to sleep with the noise or with the heat.

Portable A/C noisy and flips power off in room.

But the worst of all was there was no centralize AC in the room instead, a mobile AC unit was right next to the window and a plastic 4 inches pipe was connected to the window!!!

I've stayed at some great hotels in New York, Tahiti, London, Tokyo and Paris

The rooms and staff while nice are no Four Seasons Paris.

It is expensive and you are paying for location,

The food is way overpriced, lack of service in the restaurant, food was cold, lack n plates , utensils  for food was being contaminant, by sharing , counter top were not clean , Food was under cooked , to being over cooked.

but one was not to our taste, and the other was extremely expensive.

The restaurant louiza was quite expensive

but it was still us who had to pay for their mistake.

In all honesty, the Hilton Garden Inn food was superior to the crap we had to pay an arm and a leg for.

No it was overpriced - upgrade the the hotel and the price will be fair 😊

There were several levels of dining, from very expensive to middle of the road in the various restaurants.

- Afternoon Tea: Not worth the price, and I have had my fair share of Afternoon Teas.

Fairview restaurant food was a little disappointing as mine was overcooked, I was provided reduced pricing.

I don’t expect to be treated like that at those prices.

It was very expensive so it’s a one and done for me!

Very overpriced for very average service.

We ate dinner at the fondue restaurant Walliser Stube and we felt it was too expensive for what it was,  especially with no lake view.

These conditions were not reflected in the price.

While pricey for most folks, it may  be worth the splurge for two nights.

however the rooms are way over priced for what you get.

but for some reason it is not hotel policy to keep note of arrangements and to make sure not to waste the guest’s time, especially when you’re on a trip for a few days and missing a day and all the expenses related to plans means you’ve missed a significant part of the trip.

The service, food, rooms and spa of the Chateau are world class and the paths and views of the mountain and Lake Louise are amazing.

The cocktails we had from the Lakeview Lounge bar were very good, well made, with interesting ingredients and the food we had from the in-room dining service was very tasty. 2.

The food was exceptional especially the pudding.

The highest level of customer service I have ever experienced highly recommend fantastic Restaurants activities to many to mention excellent value for the money
from the moment you arrive you are greeted by the Valet check in process amazing experience very personable service.

We had a great time NYE with dinner at the Lake View then an incredible evening of dancing to an amazing band at the Neon Dance Party.

The dining options are also excellent, highly recommend Lakeview Lounge at lunch for views of the lake.

but the ambience, the caring staff, the amazing food.

The restaurants, all pricey, provide good quality food and very good service; again, not great.

It was a delightful experience - great location, exceptional service, superb food and the hotel was just impressive!

Room service and restaurant meals were superb.

There are two other restaurants available in the hotel,

The food and drinks were absolutely divine.

but we managed with the remaining open restaurants.

The restaurants all offer something different

We ate at the Luiza restaurant on two occasions as it was so good.

The accomodations, food, staff and housekeeping were exemplary.

As soon as we checked in we got an upgrade so we could have room overlooking the lake, which was magical!

The view from our room and in every direction were spectacular and absolutely breath taking.

Beautiful view from room, staff and food was amazing!

Finally, the Gold Floor is highly recommended for the wonderful service provided by the Gold Floor team, the great food offered in the Gold Floor lounge and the well appointed guest rooms, especially the rooms overlooking the lake which are very quiet.

The view from our room (as pictured) was awesome.

We did get a lake view room and to be honest
if we hadn’t I would have wondered why we spent all this money?

The lake view room was fabulous and all facilities first class.

From arriving at the entrance to the magnificent view from our room, this stay did not disappoint.
