The toilet kept running every minute and was so LOUD it drowned out the TV.

We went to the front desk and she gave us a new room on the 8th floor so we went to check it out before returning to the original room; when we walked in we found crickets in the bathroom and heard the symphony of crickets!! Crazy.

Do you know they still charged us a full day with the resort fee (which offers no amenities for this bogus charge) they charge you for coffee and 2.50 for little small water bottle.

Well, the stall we were given didn't happen to align with our hookups (due to the way they wanted us to park), so we asked to move to another vacant space where we could connect too the services.

Had to switch rooms because the shower head was only about 5’6” high.

In room 1515 their was a problem with the A/C there was a loud somewhat whistling sound so we decided to leave it on the lowest temp and high pressure setting in hopes it would go away on its own.

The shower head is too low and not suitable for tall people.

Their safe is key operated still LOL and the shower pressure was the equivalent of a few babies pissing on you at once, no pressure.

Not all the lamps worked, the sink had a chip, and the tub had what looked like stains.

The bathroom was pretty small and I wish it would have been bigger and have a vent.

Evidently, housekeeping failed to properly clean the bathroom (even after specifically requesting the bathroom be cleaned).

but the shower controls on our second visit were far less finicky.

OK for a budget property - only real complaint if there is one, is that they did not provide tissues in the bathroom.

The room was dirty fire alarm on the wall was full of mold along with the wall paper in the sink area.

Water pressure was weak, so they sent a maintenance guy name Frank, who took care of the problem in no time.

If you happen to go into the men's bathroom outside the buffet, they have a section of the Berlin Wall along the back of the urinals.

I literally had to bend over in the shower because the shower head is so low.

The casino is nice too, not too big with a cozy feel.

We had visited the casino once before while on vacation and had fallen in love with the woodwork and quaint antique feel of the old train station.

It's nostalgic, and there's a lot to admire inside/outside- decor.

although there was a Christmas Tree up the hotel nor Vegas really celebrate so if you’re looking for festive, this isn’t the place.

There is pool available,, meeting rooms/banquet facilities, and really good place to go and socialize in a relaxed, safe environment.

We were there on Super Bowl weekend - hotel full and restaurants busy, yet still bright and courteous.

The property itself is stunning with all the woodwork, antiques, and with all the brass chandeliers and fixtures.

The old train station decor was charming, the room was neat and clean, the personnel were friendly and helpful.

I love the atmosphere here because its not as smokey as the other casinos.

Bathroom is utilitarian, could stand a refresh.

Located near Fremont Street, this casino is a visual gem from its stained glass ceilings and windows to its train station decor with many antiques to admire.

Great old style hotel with lots of old folks also.

The bathroom was dark, claustrophobic, and FILTHY, with hair, dirt, hand prints, and crumbling tile and grout everywhere.

but the lack of apology or anything else upon hearing how we were treated would discourage me for patronising the hotel as well.

It was extremely inconvenient that we were woken up by that noise.

The window glass is really thin and you could hear busy road and railway 24/7, if you’re a light sleeper then ear plugs are a must.

This hotel/casino is not quite on the fremont experience, which keeps the noise down for the hotel guest trying to get some sleep!

but far enough away that you don't hear all the noise.

Main Street station – we stayed in the RV park, it’s a parking lot near the highway with overpass above the park, in which surprisingly was not so noisy.

but a light sleeper might be woken by the passing trains.

Needs a major renovation, and the interstate is so close you are woken up all night from the vehicles and trucks driving by.

Many of the reviews that we read were a little alarming and full of complains about the noise, the smell.

Rooms are okay, nothing great: shutters on the windows don't block outside lights, loud heater, frequent train and nearby highway add to noise level.

If you play video poker don't forget they always have a promotion by which you get a scratch card with a random monetary prize every time you hit 4 of a kind (just make sure you call the attendant and show the hand)
The rooms are ample and fairly decent, the only issue for me being the noise from the freeway, and yes, you can hear it from both sides of the hotel.

If you dont mind waking up to the sounds of a train.

As some reviewers noted, train noise was a bit of an issue.

Heard the train whistle one time, otherwise, no outside noise.

While the traffic did not bother me,  a train did come by during the night and was briefly loud.

It is adjacent to the freeway so like I see posted, there COULD be exposure to noise

Our room on the 17 th floor was subject to highway noise all day & night.

but could still hear the train noise and were woken up throughout the night.

About 11pm we come back to the room to watch TV and we start hearing a cricket joining the now symphony in our hotel room consisting of the rumbling AC, whistling windows, frequent crash of trains rushing by the window, and the toilet running every minute.

There is a lack of outlets close to the bed and the train rolls by every so often so honk honk (I knew this in advance).

The one downside is that you are near some active railroad tracks and sometimes the trains going by can wake you up.

The room was also quite noisy due to the nearby railway and freeways and could do with a little refurb,

The worst thing is the noise of the road ,train noise is not so

The only negative about this hotel is the noise from trains and cars that pass nearby.

but trains run often, also during the night.

We had a bit of noise from the freeway on the first stay (floor 9, looking towards the mountains) and noise from the train line on both occasions (2nd time looking towards Freemont, floor 16)

Make sure to get a players card and use it all the time.

The front desk supervisor clearly lied to us when we indicated that there were no rooms available, and then had the audacity to try and charge me for the larger suite price for the remaining 3 nights in a petite room.

Was allowed to check in a 10am without any type of up charge.

My biggest complaint is the players card was easily defective, I went through 4 cards.

I asked her to pull my $$ in with my players card,

We were given a compensation of 1-day’s refund of the amenity charge, which amounted to about $27.

but perhaps they could invest in card readers instead.

I would have given them 5/5 if wasn't for the washrooms in the premium tower room for having to wear a wristband and for charging a resort fee when they really are not offering anything.

After getting to look at the logs there was an entry at 10:31 with a card using the same number as my card

I presented my credit card for the stay, an amount of $520.

After a 7 day stretch they charged us a daily $25 fee for staying past 7 days.

To his credit, FOH manager was helping bus.

*****HOTEL GUESTS BEWARE***** returned from Las Vegas 13 hours ago & had a $150 charge on my credit card for "room damage" from El Cortez.

en april 17 we go to el cortez and we have reservatiion just for one night  we pay 213.39  take for my card.

My charge card was billed an additional 97 bucks with no invoice or explanation of charges to back it up.

So I sulk crying to my room- no credit cards or even identification, while the thief is given permission to gamble, drink, and enjoy the casino.

Banging doors in the hallway and a loud siren like beeping caused by too many unsuccessful key card attempts are what kept me up until 2:45 am.

December 18, 2019 El Cortez went into my account again charge $10.00.

Ours barely spoke except to count out the cards and sat there with sour looks on their faces.

Loved the vintage retro feel/vibes despite being updated.

This stay started wonderfully with the Executive Housekeeper decorating our room beautifully for my wife’s birthday.

The bathrooms could certainly have been more modern whilst at the same time sympathetic to the ‘old style’ feel.

The rooms have all been totally refurbished to a high standard and the food in the cafe ( segals 41) is superb, I recommend the prime roast rib.

You can almost feel the 1940s in the atmosphere.

I love the intimate casino, with some of the loosest slots in Vegas.

But the true charm of the place rests in the people who work there.

Enjoyed the size and design overall of the bathroom..

The casino has an awesome vibe to it and all the employees were helpful and nice.

Won $200 dollars and really enjoyed the vibe.

but just got home from our first stay at El Cortez in one of the Original 47 vintage rooms, and we absolutely loved our stay.

I love the history of the El Cortez and the vintage feel.

The bright green paint of the room was striking,

The Tower Rooms and Vintage Rooms have recently been renovated and are a wonderful Vegas secret.

Its a pity they done know how to mop the floors because they remained  filthy for the whole stay.

Aside from the bad smells (the elevator smells of urine) and the lumpiest mattress of my lifetime, the worst part was being awakened by aggressive banging on my room door by a shabbily dressed security officer (wrinkled shirt and ratty uniform) who insisted he had to take me down to the front desk - that I had not paid.

We were relocated to room 1508, it was just as filthy.

but this time we had a particularly nasty cocktail waitress.

Sleeping is going to be  tough with the smoke odor and club music.

Terrible smell of cleaner throughout the hall and rooms, No hot water in shower any time we showered.

It is dark, smells of alcohol and cigarettes.

The El Cortez definitely has that old Las Vegas feel (and smell) to it.

only six tables in the smaller area, smoky and grungy, and a few 10 splitters due to low stakes.

We stayed here due to the fact none of the other downtown hotels offered smoking rooms.

They should be happy anyone still comes in the smoky smelly old casino!!!

It is so bad that you can smell the nicotine on your clothes, after a night here.

The Casino was musty from cigarette smell and the area of the strip is definitely the old part of town,

The light shined urine all around the toilet walls- just gross.

I am impressed by the remodel casino floor ( new carpet, less smoking, new slot machines) .

No more dingy carpets and smoke stained walls.

Also, you can play blackjack and not worry that some gross smelling homeless guy is gonna sit down next to you.

On the other hand, I stayed directly across from the club that plays music until 3:30 am.

All night music from the club down the street.

If you gamble the Club Cortez staff will reward you.

The Club Cortez folks are also helpful and do a great job.

Upon signing up for the Club Cortez program I was given a "fun book" with $5 match play, $5 meal comp, free drink, free keepsake, $5 free play, and other great offers!

It’s the perfect spot there is a very good atmosphere throughout and it’s spotless clean including the casino down stairs there is no smells of cigarettes like there is a hotel next door

The room and bed were well designed and comfortable.

The standard guest rooms at this hotel are fitted with the finest materials, lavish furniture and decorations and the latest and greatest in technology – voice-controlled drapes, blinds, lights and television.

Still one of the best choices when staying in vegas as you can’t get a boutique style resort in vegas.

This property was so clean and inviting and after a dayb on the strip we always were happy to return to the ambience that the Wynn has to offer.

During my recent stay in July,  I witnessed a frightening scene of 2 women fighting for over 10 minutes, while supporting my husband during a poker tournament.

Everything felt brand new, from the elegant interiors to the high-quality rooms.

Along with the "Architectural Digest" designer accommodations,  can't say enough about the friendly Wynn staff..no question answered without a smile.

Great service, ambiance, food, room decor and comfortable beds.

Large, modernly decorated with the use of Alexa or an iPad for your convenience in turning on/off the TV, opening/closing the curtains, etc.

Myself and my partner came here as the last stop of our American road trip and feel this was a perfect place to unwind considering the busy atmosphere around us.

The following morning we had brunch at the buffet and the atmosphere and the food were fantastic.

It is a big hotel, so there isn’t much of the charm there. 4.

The pool area is incredible, the ambiance is amazing, the staff is chipper and kind.

We checked in last night and we requested an extra bed to be added on our second night, the FO agent was super nice and confirmed the extra bed and the price as well.

I was most unimpressed with Wynn (supposedly one of the best hotels on Las Vegas strip) for the following reasons (all related to the bedroom):

Poor Wi-Fi- had to pay for faster bandwidth….

I paid 350$ per night for a nice room, not a night club.

Beware of Le Cave— it’s totally not worth the price for the bland, lukewarm food in small portions.

Which links to the first point, we had to pay for water bottles in the room and the cost was EXORBITANT ($12 per litre bottle of water). 3.

We would rate 5 starts if not for the terrible and complete lack of customer service…

On the second night of our stay, I unfortunately stubbed my toe on one of the chairs in the room which had a nail sticking out of it (a clear safety issue and not something you’d expect at a five star resort).

B) The bottle of cologne was 3-4 times as expensive as what I normally wear.

The Casino is also crazy expensive with minimum bets of $50 at most times of the day.

At check in hotel lost reservation for group rate, hotel ran it 3 times, causing credit card company to cancel card.

video poker bars charge for drinks -- dont tell you before hand when every other video poker bar in vegas comps -- very sneaky and low class!!

Super bummed I paid for a premium room and got a terrible experience in return.

There are maybe 30 of these, then the price goes up to $500 for a lillypad, and upwards of $1500 for a cabana.

On the contrary they said we could pay a lot more, to upgrade the room, and thereby check in as per the promised time.

Just not acceptable for the standards expected from a hotel charging so much for a room, there was no care toward anyone’s feelings given and a huge queue of upset and disappointed customers, complete lack of provision for the goods I paid for, be very careful when spending that amount of money or a special occasion as I’m sure this could happen again

There was black mold in the tub where the water comes out.

the casino area for me was a bit too much because I hate the smell of cigarette and it’s everywhere.

All in all, the way the situation was handled by the hotel staff was extremely disappointing and quite frankly, disgusting.

My biggest complain was the resort smelled like weed.

but strange that it is so intense since the hotel does not allow smoking weed.

The Wynn Hotel and Casino is a beautify kept property without the heavy smell of cigarettes I have found in other hotels.

1 bedsheet had shoe print on it, 1 blanket had red mark and another blanket had something look like boogies, disgusting.

How can patrons believe the current health and wellness pitch while choking on second hand smoke?

Worse still, smoking at all bars was also permitted.

but there is no way to get to it without breathing disgusting air.

Not sure if it's the scent throughout the hotel or the lounge, or bougie music..

It took a 10 minute walk around the smoke filled casino following the highly confusing signage to reach the lift lobby where my card turned red and the security officer stopped me from getting to my room.

Everything in the place smells like smoke which in turn makes you smell like that.

We had truly personalized care from the Club XS team starting with coordinator Zac and cabana staff Savannah and Vince.

So unfortunate because we loved staying here away from the club scenes.

And MOST DISAPPOINTINGLY, the club music from XS blasted by room on the 27th floor from 1am to 4am.

Only complaint is that if you want to check in early it’s a charge even if your room is ready.

But on sundays they charge for the pools. So.

but 2 for 1 cocktail voucher given with room card.

The only issue I had is with guest services charging me $50-60 more than what my receipt said upon check in (I am aware of the nightly Vegas tax this wasn't it) the lady said she would take the fees off

but you can't bring in anything (even water bottles) and then charge you  $22 for a watered down drink.

At that point we had been up since 3am EST so at least 10 hours and were really tired We just explained this politely to check in and asked if there was any way we could check in early even if they charged a fee.

I don’t know many people who would be okay with a $300 loss due to unreleased funds.

So hopefully no issues when it comes to charges and getting deposit back.

Heads up while they have no problem lying to you and false advertising they also have no problem charging you for every little thing.

but now at the weekends it's 15 dollars per play  you need to cover at least 3 to play  so at 45 dollars a hand  no Thankyou  oh yes and I havnt had my deposit back on my card yet  and they advertise 150 dollars room credit which never came to me  ☹️  I complained again at checkout and they said I could have it in star bucks on my 60 mins before taxi arrived lol  just be careful if staying here  but overall not a bad hotel at all

The only item the room was lacking was power outlets and charging options.
