Some of the friendliest staff I’ve ever met, and have amazing music everytime we check-in.

Checking in was fine, they will ask you to pay the room tax and deposit upfront and you must use a bank card with your name on it and signed on the back.

Checking in early and checking out late fees are way cheaper then expected which helps a lot when you can’t check in till 3pm and check out is 11am everywhere

Upon arrival we’re greeted with 2 amassing lady the front desk and her front desk supervisor “ KRESHENDO LACOUR”.

I was greeted by beautiful smile of Brandy who checked us in and the rest is history!!!!

though we actually left the room cleaner than when we arrived and had paid "in full" prior to arriving.

The wait for rooms at check-in was an hour or more.

The area was convenient as we were right next to a lot of activities on Fremont St , We arrived late night & staff was great !!

The rooms were very clean when we arrived and we were reached out to many times if any assistance was needed.

There was no hassle checking in and our room is really nice as well.

but once you check in and get to your room it’s very clean and cozy!

I’ve had such a nice experience here at the Oasis @ Gold spike - excellent hotel staff service - with one amazing Staff member named Jeme G, that always checked up on me and my requests!

Checking in went by smoothly with the help of Jeme.

I have a client in Las Vegas for business who checked in to this hotel today and immediately checked out.

As a bonus, we arrived to toiletries in a llama themed package which made the stay perfect as my husband & our friend traveling with us a long running joke with llama gag gifts that started here in Vegas.

Was checked in by casiana, she was so friendly and sweet!

I called before arrival and she gave me the parking info I needed and got me oriented upon arrival.

When I went to Gold Spike as a Vegas native I felt like they decided that their presidency was way to obnoxious for me to want to come back for a staycation.

We absolutely loved staying at the Oasis at Gold Spike.

The Oasis at Gold Spike is literally one of the most horrible hotel experiences I have ever had.

Oasis at Gold Spike was where me and my partner took our first trip to Vegas.

We've stayed at the Oasis at Gold Spike multiple times.

The stay here has being so amazing and accommodating, the Gold Spike staff is very friendly and assisting.

Very accommodating staff and nice rooms overlooking a clean nice sized pool, not to mention my backyard is the Gold Spike hangout and game area which I thought was cool.

The Oasis at the Gold Spike is always a great place to stay.

Oasis @ Gold Spike was an amazing & friendly experience.. great customer service.. Jeme was very nice and helpful.. great deal for such a clean & quite room.. the only place I’m going from now on .. plus being pool side even in the cold weather can’t be beat..

Also as you are above a nightclub you will hear loud music and lots of people talking all hours of the night.

You have to walk through the nightclub dance floor & pool tables to get to the elevators in the tower, security holds you back until the floor is somewhat clear then waves you through.

The room smells like cigarettes, there are so much noise coming from the bar and parties outside.

This hotel is on top of a nightclub and is VERY loud.

The hotel was clean & fun, a little loud if your room faces the backyard & it's kinda silly that the bouncers won't let you leave the elevator without an escort,

They also fail to tell you that you have to walk through the loud club to get to your room at the end of every night instead of using the hotel entrance that you are paying for!

Then the real fun began around 10pm, the neighbors next door effectively used their room as a disco, non stop loud music, people coming in and out, yelling belligerent people wandering the hall.

She warned us that it might be loud due to the club,

Club was not too loud, I slept really well.

There was no party the night it went leaving us to make our own

but prospective guests should know that on weekend nights the nightclub downstairs is so loud that the bed literally shakes.

In reality it’s because they’ve built a place for people to party, get absolutely blitzed and they know drunk people don’t remember anything, much less complain about what they don’t remember.

I like how when  you enter  the nightclub to get up to your room at night it feels like you're a celebrity lol.

The windows are not sound proof therefore, you hear the loud music playing at the Gold Spike at night.

And there was a nightclub on the first floor that kept most of us up until 3am.

Also, this property has an Outdoor Nightclub on site which the people on the other side of this hotel had the pleasure of hearing till 2am.

One issue I had was the loud music (from Oasis) that played well past midnight in this back 'play area'.

"We are trying to prevent a house party", is what I was told.

but give you vague dimsissive responses until you give up, im sure theyll reply to this with an automated answer asking me to contact them but not do a damn thing when i call but blame me, the construction, their lunch break, literally anything but them not doing their part to ensure their guests are treated fairly.

but I was so tired to come down and complain, since the front desk is so far away and they don’t have a phone to call.

Our room was pretty dirty and because none of the rooms have phones to call the front desk you have to walk all the way back there.

Had to call the bar to call someone at the front desk to come back 30 min later.

This was when I discovered there was no phone in the room.

There is no communication on the rooms to call the reception and tv was not working.

After the pool, I went outside in what they call the backyard to smoke a cigarette.

Like we mentioned before, the room has no Phone,

Zero amenities, no coffeemaker in room, no phone, no outlets for even their own lamps, cracked tv, bathtub didnt drain, I could go on.

I had to call hoteltonight to refund my room and switch me to a different property.

The very loud bumping club music started about 8 pm and went till about 5:30 am, when we called from our cell phones to reach the front desk we were informed “We are a night club on weekends, not a hotel!” Claimed it’s advertised as such on their site which it is not, it is described as a “Boutique Hotel” .

We arrived at the hotel at 5:45 am (after calling 2 days before to confirm check in).

Between the backed up sink, mini ironing board, level of noise from the club and no way to contact the front desk without walking down, (called with phone multiple times) I will not be staying here again.

After booking reservation for oasis we’re booking.com I had a problem with  not telling me about resort fees said that it was all included was on the phone two hours would’ve tried to cancel the room reservation and I got help from Jeme  Supervisor and Front desk Clerk casiana.

I used my cell phone to call the front desk to request maintenance to come and fix the problems.

Conveniently there is no phones in the rooms , so contact with management can only be done by walking to the other building.

The noise level is high, the hotel provides bedside earplugs which is never a good sign.

You will be close to the action,  it can get a bit loud.

The rooms in the tower sit above the casino/nightclub and that can loud at night.

Parking lot has a lot of homeless traffic, so make sure to lock doors and leave nothing in your car.

People were packed into a tiny a lobby with no air movement for an hour +.

Then the noise from the club no wonder they give you ear plugs.

Our air conditioner did make unusually loud sounds, so we think that helped.

but its car noise that we heard the most.

Front desk staff is really friendly and helpful and yes, it does get a bit loud by the pool

Oh, and one more thing, don't believe the price--this is the Jet Blue of hotels.

The bathroom had mold, the heater was extremely noisy, homeless looking guest right outside her pool view room door smoking marihuana, with the smell wafting into her room and people hanging around out the front door of the hotel who look like gang members.

The air conditioning sounds like there's a monster coming out of the vent.

Just far enough from Fremont to avoid the insane noise while still 100% feeling like a fun hotel.

The room was clean, to much extra decor, it was noisy a lot of people walking passed and making noises all night housekeeping never came to clean my room and I stayed there for 2 days never got the $100 deposit back either

It is a bit noisy, so be prepared for sleepless nights (it's Vegas).

but unfortunately it did smell like stale smoke/weed (I don't blame the hotel for this as it is hard to police this) but it can be an issue to people when a sensitive nose.

The second room was just as dusty, stinky, furniture missing and in poor condition, and no toilet paper in the room.

Despite a no-smoking rule the whole 3rd floor smelled of cigarettes & pot,

I got stock and super late in Vegas because of an airline issues and I was exhausted, the room was smelling terrible.

But the tiny bathroom that floods every time the shower is turned on houses cockroaches, the base of the shower is cracked, the grout is and aged and really dirty, and there is a tile missing on the wall that leaves a lovely mould filled hole to add to the decor.

The night stands had peeling paint and cigarette burns along with dried food in it.

(Despite it being advertised as non smoking).

The smells alternated between a very strong chemical smell in the morning to a musty, wet smell in evening.

The room had plastic over the smoke detector and smelled like smoke,

The shower smelled like mildew and had visible mold.

Rooms were disgusting and pics are so deceiving.

Another guest was in the verge of tears her room was above the club and said it was nasty. 🤷‍♀️

We had read reviews and knew smells were noted.

You have to watch where you walk, or you may find yourself walking in urine or broken glass.

As my friend said, the place smelled like old cigarette smoke and disappointment.

Right on the Fremont Street Experience, so we were given earplugs upon check-in.

Check in and checkout process was smooth.

Was able to check in on arrival at approximately 1:30 PM.

The room was not adequately cleaned when we arrived.

Check in was smooth and fast (unusual for Vegas these days).

On Sept 3 I requested a particular room on the top floor and an early check in, the hotel met my every request and on my Sept 20th stay I booked a corner suite and it was perfect once again.

Right from the being the check in the girl from front desk made the check in smooth and easy.

We stayed 8/24-8/27/23…First impressions are lasting…Let’s start with the warm welcome and great service from the front desk staff.. this was our first stay here and it will not be the last… 
The front desk quickly checked us in and EARLY.

but hopefully they give it back once you’re all checked out.

Received 3 texts in the month before arrival say how excited they were to welcome me and my suite was all ready.

Online says 9a-4p,  check in sheet says 9a-6p, tv display says 9a-7p.

We checked out a day early and found a much better hotel with an amazing pool and were able to get a good nights rest.

April at check in was brilliant, such a lovely manner and incredibly efficient, friendly, professional and genuine.

Arrived late and had excellent service from Andrea at the front desk.

The staff are so nice & quick on responding to calls from the rooms & quick for check in and check out!

As soon as we arrived, he made us feel welcome.

The front desk staff were great on checking in and kindly allowed me to get an early check-in.

We checked in and the room was dirty, and we were immediately upgraded for the inconvenience.

Little did I know, the room was located directly across of the Gold Spike courtyard.

Across the street is the Oasis at Gold Spike.

You also have a lot of popular bars nearby on each side, hogs and heffers, the gold spike and is close to the fremont experience!

The furnace in the room squeaked so loud I had to turn it off completely.

I’ve never been to a hotel that prioritized party guests over hotel guests.

Loud music from Freemont is unavoidable, 

Not much gambling area so we had to play at another casino.

There seems to be no free drinks on casino floor unless you're playing tables.

but you can still hear music late into the night, with the bass notes being especially hard to drown out.

Even without the DJ playing late 80s hits to crowd of screaming bachelorettes, there's also motorcycles and loud cars making noises on the road right below you.

The 'music' blasted so loud we were unable to sleep, and at one point my phone vibrated off its charger and fell, cracking the screen.

Was not loud and noisey like other casinos in Las Vegas.

All these people complaining about loud music obviously forgot where they were vacationing at, vegas has many pool clubs with events at their pools.

One drawback was the loud music over the citrus pool area, which started quite early and could interfere with audio during meetings or calls.

Gave me a room overlooking the pool where they had a party playing music so loud not even the tv could drown it out, until 1 am.

The “upgrade” room was below the pool party that lasted until 1 am.

Next in the middle of the night from 10-3am there was music playing from spike casino…a discount should’ve have been given if you are putting people on that side of the hotel.

I only inquired about the theme of the pool party and he said that to me right in front of the pool manager.

I'm writing this as I sit in my hotel room which is rattling from the bass blasting from the pool deck several floors below.

I was up half the first night due to a band on fremont that went until midnight that was so loud it was thumping on the 19th floor.

The street noise was so loud you had to have earplugs to sleep.

The noise from a party at the pool on a Thursday night was so loud we could hear it three hotel aisles away in our room.

The only noises we heard were foot steps from the room above.

We could hear all the sounds from everywhere around our room including music from the street, plumbing, and noise from other rooms and hallway.

Between finding your adorable little sticky note about the earplugs stuck to our mirror, no earplugs to be found, and the tissue box stuffed full of SOMEONE ELSES USED TISSUES it is incredibly clear that you dont clean your rooms.

Was a bit noisy, even with a room facing away from Fremont street.

You can hear the footsteps of the upstairs neighbors thundering.

They did not provide a “sound machine” to drown out the crap on Fremont St.

If any one in the room next to you or above you or in the street make any noise, you will hear every peep.

but you don’t get all the late night noise if you want to get a good nights sleep.

The suite was on the North side of the tower, away from all the noise of the Fremont Street Experience.

Waiting for the elevator at 10pm, someone was loudly wrenching in the ladies room.

They sent up 20 pair of earplugs, like if we kept shoving them in maybe we could pop our eardrums? Weak.

The only way to drown it out was to run the air conditioning on high and wear earplugs.

Downtown Grand Hotel

You are given a drinks voucher as part of the ‘fun pack’ you get at check-in.

Checked in just past noon and had a room facing the strip on the 11th floor.

Great service, it was later at night when we arrived and had no problem getting good food.

Instead checked back the next day and the lady at the front desk handed me earplugs and said good luck.

Friendly people at every stop from the check in to the coffee stand lady.

Our check in was wonderful and we were even given restaurant vouchers FREE.

We checked in at noon, and our room was ready.

This particular visit I had some unpleasant experiences with the room, check in and the hotel manager.

During check in we were asked if we wanted a coffee maker, which was nice, because we did, and soon after getting in the room a housekeeper brought a Keurig with cups, coffee, etc.

This is a retro looking/ feeling hotel. Some difficulty checking in because they had me at a different rate,

All this because I was curious to try El Cortez after reading reviews & seeing their nicely renovated rooms. As a hotel guest, I should not be expected to take pictures or video the room upon arrival to take "inventory."

The parking attendants were helpful, moving our car out of the way while we checked in.

Make sure to get a players card and use it all the time.

The front desk supervisor clearly lied to us when we indicated that there were no rooms available, and then had the audacity to try and charge me for the larger suite price for the remaining 3 nights in a petite room.

Was allowed to check in a 10am without any type of up charge.

My biggest complaint is the players card was easily defective, I went through 4 cards.

I asked her to pull my $$ in with my players card,

We were given a compensation of 1-day’s refund of the amenity charge, which amounted to about $27.

but perhaps they could invest in card readers instead.

I would have given them 5/5 if wasn't for the washrooms in the premium tower room for having to wear a wristband and for charging a resort fee when they really are not offering anything.

After getting to look at the logs there was an entry at 10:31 with a card using the same number as my card

I presented my credit card for the stay, an amount of $520.

After a 7 day stretch they charged us a daily $25 fee for staying past 7 days.

To his credit, FOH manager was helping bus.

*****HOTEL GUESTS BEWARE***** returned from Las Vegas 13 hours ago & had a $150 charge on my credit card for "room damage" from El Cortez.

en april 17 we go to el cortez and we have reservatiion just for one night  we pay 213.39  take for my card.

My charge card was billed an additional 97 bucks with no invoice or explanation of charges to back it up.

So I sulk crying to my room- no credit cards or even identification, while the thief is given permission to gamble, drink, and enjoy the casino.

Banging doors in the hallway and a loud siren like beeping caused by too many unsuccessful key card attempts are what kept me up until 2:45 am.

December 18, 2019 El Cortez went into my account again charge $10.00.

Ours barely spoke except to count out the cards and sat there with sour looks on their faces.

So, around 1: am, the CSR from Booking.com calls and tells me they found a room at a nearby hotel near the EL--the Oasis at Gold Spike and offered to refund the price difference in price, etc.

even though I do not gamble, nor drink, nor smoke, and I chose the El Cortez for my stay this visit because my previously-favorite Old Town hotel, the Gold Spike, closed in early 2013 and is currently being remodeled and re-purposed.

I did stay at the Gold Spike last year and the El Cortez beats them hands down.

Its a pity they done know how to mop the floors because they remained  filthy for the whole stay.

Aside from the bad smells (the elevator smells of urine) and the lumpiest mattress of my lifetime, the worst part was being awakened by aggressive banging on my room door by a shabbily dressed security officer (wrinkled shirt and ratty uniform) who insisted he had to take me down to the front desk - that I had not paid.

We were relocated to room 1508, it was just as filthy.

but this time we had a particularly nasty cocktail waitress.
