Guest self-serve laundry is a big plus and is available at the adjacent KOA RV Park/Kampground.

It's got a cinema, ten pin bowling, RV park with Laundry that we used on our arrival, plus a lovely central atrium with shops and other places to eat such as Mexican, McDonalds, Panda Express, Ice Cream store and more.

staff are friendly and helpful, We chose sam's because of its location, close to hwy 93 leaving town, a good place for Rv folks and families, bowling alley,18 cinemas and plenty of fast food places including panda express and dunkin doughnuts.

We booked this hotel because it was so close to the RV rental location (Road Bear) we used and because we paid a third of what we would expect to pay for a Strip hotel.

I was staying at the nearby KOA RV park and wandered here for dinner.

It has an adjacent KOA, which might be nice if you're traveling in an RV.

I ran back with my luggage and bob in valet escorted me to the RV laundry facility and picked me back up.

It was not real crowded or smokey and very clean.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean and comfortable.

It was not overwhelmingly busy, there was every amenity you could need and then some, it was clean and unique.

Sam's Town is well-kept, staff is friendly, base price for clean room is reasonable.

Our room was beautiful, clean, and spacious.

I was  clean, and waitresses were on the spot, every time, never had to look for them.

Clean and recently updated rooms, professional staff, lots of food and entertainment options.

The sleeping rooms are the cleanest rooms in the entire city.

It is a clean casino, easy to park, nice restaurants, decent payouts on machines, and other entertainment available, bingo, bowling, etc.

My Sam's Town room was spotlessly clean and included the all-too-rare Las Vegas refrigerator.

The rooms are clean and very nice and everything is here.

I stayed at Sam's Town when I was in Las Vegas for a conference.

It’s like stepping back in time in Las Vegas.

I would HIGHLY recommend Sam's Town to those that do not want/need to visit the strip and would like to enjoy Las Vegas from a different perspective.

One of the quietest rooms I have ever had in Las Vegas.

Sam's Town is a great alternative to staying on the strip, it is about a 12 minute drive from Las Vegas Blvd. (strip).

We spent a night out at Sam's Town in Las Vegas at the end of April.

This is my second stay over at Sams Town in Las Vegas.

I took the free shuttle to Fremont Street one afternoon[previously my very favorite place in Las Vegas)

Still we love the atmosphere, and the people who worked there, so we will give it one more try on our next Las Vegas visit next year.

When you stay on the Boulder Highway it's in the real neighborhoods of regular Las Vegas locals so there is a mix of just about everything.

Sams Town is still a relatively good bargain in Las Vegas.

This casino is away from the noise of Las Vegas strip.the gardens at the back of the casino are so quiet and pleasant ,free water show every hour, sit and have a large ice cream for small money, the cafeteria close to the front door does a breakfast to die for, you can get there very easy by boarding a bus at the back of Harry’s casino/hotel on the strip.

It has become one of our favorite casino's in Las Vegas.

Risk management was cold and callus and Boyd totally absolved themselves from any liability.

One suggestion for management: post limit for number of people in elevators on each floor.

The manager for the day, did not know how to handle this and had to ask someone else what to do.

I needed something validated for a deal I had received in the mail, and the current manager at the time, Cody, snubbed my attempts to get him to validate it, and the dealers refused to approach him on my behalf after the initial attempt.

(who Meg said was in charge of the entire place overnight because Linda Daily, the manager had gone home already).

We again expressed our dissatisfaction and a manager had to be called to review the situation.

That never shouldve been missed by an inspector or manager if the rooms were thoroughly checked.

Trees are over grown and management will have trouble with them on inside courtyard.

Now the manager is saying sorry for the way he talked to you.

even though it's close by, it's on a part of Boulder Highway that unfortunately starts getting dodgy.

Only downsides are the casino cigarette smoke and location is in a somewhat poor neighborhood.

Not as many scary looking people milling around at night.

Machines were tight, of course, the homeless people sleeping at the slot machines and begging for money made me sick.

There seem to be more and more unsavory people who come here.

Best thing that could have ever happened they are so clean the casino does not smell like smoke there’s no prostitutes or homeless people like at Boulder.

This hotel/casino is a locals spot on Boulder Highway and over the last couple of years this area has become a little sketchy.

But I did not feel unsafe driving around there.

This side of town and north of Sam's is getting a bit seedy.

Two nights of BS, walls to thin, obnoxious neighbors.

There are many off-strip hotels that are either run-down or get pretty seedy.

The neighborhood in this area is known to be a bit sketchy after dark so I wouldn't recommend venturing outside at night.

Although I read somebody describe the area as "sketchy", I don't think they travel much as it's a regular Vegas neighborhood surrounded by strip malls and other casinos

but dated, The neighborhood was a little scary.

Bum rushed at night trying to buy food at their food court, looks like the homeless hang out here so beware.

And when a person on a bike looking in parked cars for treasures then immediately took care of it.

Enter any parking garage from side-street entrance and make way to desk at front of casino or ask valet at front of building for temporary spot and go to desk inside front door.

Free parking and plenty of spots in the garage.

The super convenient parking deck, the Atrium, the flow and size or the casino, friendliness of the B Connected desk, the check in and out process, the quietness of the while property itself, convenience to Boulder hwy, and even the Deli Sandwich from the Sports Book deli all were amazing!

Plenty of parking that is free and pretty convenient.

Valet parking was efficient and very convenient.

Easy and ample parking, lovely check-in staff, a great value buffet breakfast and dinner and a really nice laid back vibe.

Three parking lots, each accessible to your location in the hotel, a large casino with good restaurants, theaters and live music.

Parking and check-in were both fairly easy.

There is also 2 parking garages on site which many other hotels do not have.

Parking is plentiful,  and valet was the way to go.

Parking was free, the room had a large TV & a small fridge, bathroom was nice - overall, a very comfortable stay.

but don't want to pay highest resort fees and parking, this is your location.

Free self-parking and all you have to do it take care of your valet.

Great place, friendly staff and people, very quiet being away from the strip, will stay there again, food great, garden is beautiful, slots seem to pay well, cost around $17 to Uber to the strip, restaurant staff very helpful, lots of security, nice to visit the real Vegas

There is a Walmart nearby and few other restaurants that are located across the street from Sam's Town.

We had an amazing room that was super comfortable and we availed ourselves of the casino and restaurants.

The Atrium is beautiful, it’s nice to have all the restaurants, movies, bowling available.

You could spend a long weekend and not run out of food or entertainment possibilities.

Other eateries in Sam's Town (NONE of which are open 24/7) are a steakhouse, TGIFridays, a deli at the sports book, a snack bar at the Bowling Center, McDonalds, Subway, Panda Express, and Dunkin' Donuts.

It has a movie theater (If you keep the stub you get a free game of bowling in their alley), a great buffet (it's was closed this time because of Covid), nice restaurants like the Angry Butcher( We had the filet and lobster deal for $39.99 you have to buy the sides that was delicious) and this little 24hr Mexican food counter the has great food at a great price.

And the food was decent, especially Roberto's.

Staff from check-in, housekeeping, security, casino floor servers and cleaners, restaurant staff was amazing  Our room was pristine, we felt very safe playing slots and table games.

I dine at their restaurants, which are YUMMY.

It’s good quality hotel, surrounding by a covered atrium which is surrounds by family friendly restaurants, including TGI Friday’s, Panda Express, McDonald’s, Duncan donuts, and a few higher class adult restaurants.

The restaurants are great and the prices are good we visited TGI Fridays we had steak and lobster tail which was excellent and costs $14.99 the buffet is also great and excellent value.

Got the steak philly to-go and that came with fries.

We enjoyed our stay and never ran out of food options during our week.

This Hotel has it all, A Casino, Restaurants, Bars, Entertainment, pool, Bowling Alleys, Movie Theaters, a Fantastic Park Like Atrium with shows several times a day.

The room was great and we did have an empty fridge, clock radio and a coffee maker which we did not have in the other hotel.

The rooms at Sam's Town are nicer than Boulder Station and definitely have better bathrooms.

The handicapped accessible room was on the second floor, the room was spacious, the furnishings were well appointed and it was nice and quiet.

The rooms are gorgeous and the staff takes great pride in helping customers.

Found out we could use coin-laundry at the Main Street RV Park just a short walk across the parking lot on other side of freeway.

The location was walking distance from old Vegas, Fremont Street, Natural History Museum, Smith Center, and Mob Museum.

Whenever family comes to Vegas, they tend to stay at this hotel or one of the ones nearby at downtown LV and/or Fremont Street.

Very close walk to Fremont street and bus stops for long distance buses and SDX / Deuce connecting you to the Strip.

Chose this hotel because it was near Fremont Street Experience and I was able to stay free through BConnected.

In fact, the quality to price ratio might be the very BEST in Old Downtown (Fremont Street area).

Right off Fremont Street or outside the doors of Binions we stumbled upon California.

Because it is located in downtown Las Vegas, they got to experience the Fremont Street Experience.

Biggest plus for folks looking to stay in the Fremont Street area is that it's much quieter than those that are adjacent to Fremont Street (as it's 2 blocks off 'the strip'.

In Las Vegas, you have a basic choice to make, Downtown(Fremont Street) or the Strip.

If you want to stay in the Fremont Street area of (old downtown) Las Vegas, this property is one of the VERY best options available.

The California Hotel and Casino is always clean and close to Fremont Street.

The hotel is just a block away from Fremont Street.

The fact that this hotel is partially hidden one block north of Fremont Street means UNPARALLELED savings for savvy travellers.

Walk across the street and you are in the Fremont Street experience.

but Fremont street has lots of things to do and see.

Walked to Fremont Street, was alittle hot, saw some interesting people there, some scary as well.

The Cal is a block away from Fremont Street, which to me is a blessing.

Fremont Street remains a 3-block condensation of the Strip, great for people watching and for seeing "only in Vegas" things.

We really didn't need to leave to have an enjoyable time in Las Vegas.

A lot of us come to Las Vegas to enjoy the warm weather and also the pool not just to gamble the whole time.

There are so many Hawaii transients that have moved to Las Vegas and work at the hotel.

For best rates, use your BConnected card, and if you want to hit the cheapest days in Las Vegas in 2020, plan your stay for between Dec 13 - 24, 2020, as National Finals Rodeo will end on December 12th, and rates will skyrocket beginning Christmas Day.

But as far as what we did everything went well we got to see what we wanted to see Las Vegas as always lives up to its spectacular rating.

We have stayed at the California for the last couple of years in October when we travel to Las Vegas for fun.

Finally, the staff (and customers) are EASILY the nicest you'll find in all of Las Vegas.

First of all, the Cal has always been our hotel of choice whenever we’re  in Las Vegas.

Whenever we stay in downtown Las Vegas, we stay at the California Hotel.

This was even more impressive as I stayed over a weekend (when rates are always higher in Las Vegas).

This hotel for the price is a lot higher quality than most in downtown Las Vegas.

If you want a simple vacation in downtown Las Vegas to gamble and watch football games, a vacation that is relatively inexpensive yet comfortable, consider The California Hotel & Casino.

We booked California Hotel and Casino to stay and have dinner downtown Las Vegas.

On a recent quick trip to Las Vegas, I spent one night at the California Hotel located in downtown Las Vegas.

A group of about 12 of us were in Las Vegas in early May and looking for a place to watch the hockey playoffs.

Guests who tend to stay here seem to be the most POLITE and FRIENDLY visitors to Las Vegas.

Cheap (relatively), good location to access Fremont, free parking that isn't a 15 minute walk to your room.

And there were house keeper walking around to keep things clean 24/7

Overall, I would stay here again just because we didn't have to pay for the room and because of its location.

The location is great, out the front door of the casino and the back of the stage is less than a block away.

I like the location just off freemomt street.

Good location if you prefer Fremont St. over The  Strip.

Wonderful location and loved the Hawaii theme.

However over the years, and especially since the old man's passing, the properties(California, Fremont, Main Street, and the others located away from downtown Suncoast, Sam's Town, Orleans) have all shown signs of being run by the accounting department.

The downtown location also means there will be many homeless people around.

Nicely located within walking distance of a lot of fun things to do.

The downtown location, the smaller hotel/casino and the close proximity to the other downtown casinos make it relaxed and convenient.

Great service, and revamped rooms, comfortable beds, and very conveniently located to downtown.

Downtown, where this hotel and casino are located, is pedestrian friendly and, mostly, less expensive than the Strip.

Nice quiet location just off Fremont with a nice new walking path for convenience.

Our room was located in the renovated West Tower.

The location is Downtown, one block from Fremont St, so there are numerous bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Located on edge of downtown, this casino has one of the finest steakhouses with reasonable prices.

Location was fantastic, right across the street from Fremont.

They do give you one free parking pass per room.

Super friendly staff, very clean room, free self parking.

We arrived on time to pick up her brother we went straight to the strip and parked at the Tropicana Hotel.

Parking for hotel is convenient and part of "resort" package, which is relatively modest.

It is the Fremont Experience with free parking.

Parking - Hotel does have parking which was easily accessible from the hotel.

We used the valet parking during our stay which was friendly, efficient and free.

but the process here was completed in about 5 minutes and it has free parking for guests.

There is now a daily resort fee which includes Wifi (which you used to have to pay for), parking and a few other things.

Since our stay was prepaid, she explained the self-parking option in detail so that it was an easy process.

There's ample parking which is free with validation inside the casino if you play or eat compared to paid parking or taxi fares on the Strip.

As usual all the staff were so friendly (except the surly Holo Holo bartenders, can't win em all)  Hallways all remodeled with new furniture, light fixtures, wall paper and carpeting.Free parking.

Parking is free if you're a guest, so that's cool too.

It does appear to have free parking if you have a car.

No resort fee and free parking were bonuses.

Everytime I call the hotel they tell me it's closed for repairs with no date when it will reopen, and are not bring told any details.That is why I'm reaching out here, for some straight answers.

..this could have been rectified had a phone call been made telling me this.

We checked out, drove to see our son off, while filling gas nearby for the long drive back to AZ, we got a call that the hotel housekeeper retrieved a wallet found in the room.

I had to fill out some paperwork and took my phone.

With that, I could either check rates on line or on the phone.

WELL, THAT TOOK THREE SEPERATE PHONE CALLS TO SECURITY AND A 45 MINUTE WAIT IN THE PARKING GARAGE BY THE VALET!

You would think that the valet could call a taxi to pick up patrons and bags at the door of the hotel.

Each lamp in the room had an outlet that could be used to plug in a charger for a phone or a computer.

I can't call the California a five-star value,

After much phone business when I got there they only had 2 for me and again.

Great room; great front desk; great maintenance (we had to call about how to turn on the mini-fridge and about the network stations' signals blanked off the TV); great room service.

though you better be a guest because we didn't have access to the wifi and the cell phone service was minimal.

Service is just a call and they bring whatever you might need.

I went tuesday told the agent she said I'll call someone.

Internet access is  $10/day per device and phone calls are 50 cents.

The rooms are not to big nor to small we book 2 Queens because I'm up all hours.

The mailed promo my dad called to book his reservation under was never applied for the free play via the reservation team.

Now I have rebooked again and I'm not getting any answers as I want to cancel my stay with the California if the pool will not be open in June.

Sit-down dining options are limited to the Market Street Cafe and needing a reservation takes some getting used to.

This time we decided to book "The Cal" since we had such a nice time there on our last trip, tho we stayed elsewhere.
