The smell of cleaner in the hallways and in the room was suffocating.

The room was a bit chilly, because there is no heating, just an A/C for cooling in the room.

It was an unusually warm stretch for October in Las Palmas as well and the air conditioning barely worked and we couldn’t keep the patio door open at night for the ocean breeze because of the cigarette smoke coming in. Sad.

cons-  room smelt of smoke, think it was coming in from next door through the air conditioning, also didn't use the balcony for the same reason, smokers next door.

There was air conditioning in the room, which was needed as it reached about 37c according to the temperature gauge on the promenade.

Old, unpredictable air con (at least in my room, 134).

And when the wind blew, it made a terrible noise, because the wind came in.

but again very much adult orientated , unfortunately the kids weren't fans of pumpkin pie or stuffed avocado.

We couldn't get the air conditioning to work.

The downside for us was the disappointing bedroom - dated furniture, uncomfortable mattress past its sell by date, and a noisy and erratic air con.

but dont expect to swim in the pool on the roof as it was freezing my only negative comment

but a broken air conditioner and a broken safety box.

Our aircon thermostat was broken and it took two requests at reception before it was fixed.

If you left the balcony door open at night the traffic noise kept you awake and if you closed it it was too hot so the noise from the air con kept you awake.

Our only quibble was the fact that due to inclement weather, it was rather cold and the heating didn't seem to function.

The air conditioning was efficiently working in the background without the usual annoying racket, and double doors certainly kept the sound out.

With no sunshine the room was cold and the balcony useless.

Great position on the sea front with loads of activities both in and around the city and beach area, with the added benefit of the lava reef and free sunbeds at the front of the hotel.

The seafront beach has barely any sand on it and the weather is completely different from the south.

The Hotel is well located for easy access to the beach and the city.

The room is only small, very dated with a small balcony over looking the beach, nice views.

Very friendly staff , suite on first floor impressive,   location fantastic  ,spa perfect for the cloudy mornings, then beach or rooftop pool.Breakfast buffet very good.

I had a small balcony with a semi-obstructed  view towards the beach.

Amazing location right on the beach with access to a wondeful prom and private sunbeds and parasols just for this hotel.

Location is nice directly at Canteras beach (Playa de Las Canteras), and views from room #541 were stunning,

It’s location on the Paseo De Las Canteras is terrific, stepping right out onto the beach and bagging a free hotel sunbed and brolly is just fabulous.

I would go back if looking for a city beach hotel in a great touristic location in Las Palmas.

This is the most beautifully situated hotel directly by the beach and ocean.

4)  Location - perfect, right across from the beach over the promenade.

Right on La Cantana beach with a terrific sunset view.

The hotel reserved some couches on the beach for residents.

There is also a section on the beach reserved for the hotel guests.

Look for the Jamon restaurant  at the end of beach for best restaurant.

In 20 minutes I received an envelope under the door!!!!

A note was placed under our door on Tuesday, granting an interview at 11am on the Wednesday, one day before we were due to return home.

Our room had barely any natural light, one door in the corner leading to the balcony and no windows.

And also do take note of the comments regarding being locked out on the balcony if you shut the door behind you.

Not too noisy despite being a busy road as double doors to minimise external noise.

Fridge in the room and cans of cold beer available from the Spar next door for 40p, what more could you want?

In addition I’m in an adjoining room which means you can hear everything from the room next door.

Just a hint on the A/C make sure the glass balcony doors are properly closed otherwise the A/C will not start up.

The door is designed to be opened only from the inside, so this terrifying situation could happen to anyone.

..just pop do not disturb on the door before you go to bed.

The patio doors had double/double glazing and couldn't hear traffic or noise at night.

You can’t sit on your own balcony because of the uninvited smell of smoke and you also have to keep your patio door closed onto the balcony for the same reason.

We had to sleep with the door 10 cm open to get rid of the noise.But still quite noisy.

I could open the doors of the small balcony only for short time, the air was much polluted, the smell of the diesel exhaust and petrol lingering after it in the room!

Inside, we had a door to separate the bathroom and main door so we didn’t hear anything and had no disturbances.

however slept like a log with the double glazing,blackout curtains,carpeted corridors and double doors in the room.

but on the fourth floor we did not hear any noise with both 
The balcony door and sliding doors closed .

Superb service at this great hote, Bull Riena Isabel & Spa, all the staff, from reception to cleaning staff are exceptionally friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble, very good efficient service all round.

All members of staff are a credit to to the hotel, they unfailingly had a smile and a friendly greeting while working under extremely uncertain and serious conditions.

Hotel guest experience was poor (no pool towels provided, we had to request them and pick them up at our rooms, fresh towels only for surcharge).

Old rooms, okay bathrooms, reception is slow and poor English is understood/spoken.

But she didn’t even offer us a drink or give us an apology (very poor customer service) – both of which would have cost nothing / very little to a hotel of this size.

Once a grand dame of Las Palmas an aging relic with poor, poor service.

however would look for alternative accommodation if we visit again - holiday spoiled by lack of sleep due to poor beds.

Sleep quality is poor due to there not being any double beds and mediocre single beds being stuck together.

We found the service in the Marina bar was extremely poor despite the bar not being full and there being at least 5 staff on duty in the bar area.

Concerning the noise pollution, due to poor insulation, you could hear the noise from the adjacent rooms, both lateral and above (coughing, loud TV, loud voices, even extremely loud “’love’” noises).

Slightly tired and shabby, housekeeping poor, thick dust etc.

There were only a small number of English in the hotel, it is very popular with Spanish and there were times when I felt we were being treated as the poor relations.

and after accidentally breaking a glass on the floor, I had to call the cleaner for a visit twice, as she did really poor job first.

Great eating places as well and the location fantastic to see the whole of las Palmas city and the promenade

First day we had dinner in the hotel restaurant ordered drinks informing the room number when they brought the bill, obviously we left when finished.

Lovely clean rooms and public areas, good choice of food and very good quality.

The bar on the front is a must, we had cocktails every evening before finding a restaurant to have our evening meals.

All along the promenade were shops, bars and restaurant.

All in all I found the half board option was good value for money and very convenient to be able to pop down and eat ASAP rather than to go hunting for a good restaurant at double the price

We did not try the evening buffet, because we want to try new restaurants and have found again some greatnew ones.

The waiter at dinner was very good and attentive.

Highly recommend for a break in this lovely city. Finally if you want the best hospitality and food on the island go to the Restaurante Etiopico Afrika  ( only 6 euros in a taxi from the hotel)

I will not comment on food as during this Covid time it's challenging to offer good buffet.

However, the buffet dinner in the main restaurant was much better value, there was plenty of choice and it was very nice.

the spa, swimming pool, terrace etc were off limits and closed down our lovely sea view room was impeccably maintained and the food and service in the restaurant was top class.

The promenade is about 3km long with numerous places to eat or have a small beer.

Hotel food buffet more than adequate choice.

Absolutely loved the Marina bar and the cocktails,  smoothies and liqueur coffees were delicious.

The breakfast was everything you could ask for and we really did not have to have any lunch.

Several excellent restaurants, as well if you prefer b&b.

The location is very good and there are tens of restaurants in close proximity to the hotel.

I was all the time polite and there was another female employee there and kept silence.

Can't fault the staff, they made our stay wonderful.

The staff is very helpful and people are respecting each other. The view is amazing from the terrace and the position is highly strategic (you have the gym next to it, other coworkings spaces etc)

A dream location for any surfer or visitor.

It's also pretty clean and the location is of course perfect.

The location is first class, the atmosphere among the travellers in the hostel is amazing.

The dorm beds have curtains which allow you privacy and electric sockets and a light so you can read and charge your phone etc.

The only thing I could think about doing was going to this hostel as they would remember me I just needed to borrow €5 to get me back to Maspalomas I would have paid it back all I had was my phone on me.

Also, the staff told us it was recomendable to rent a car so you could make the most of your stay in the island and so we did, he was supposed to call the rental (and obviously told us he did),

Lastly, we were really disappointed with how they handled the rental car situation.

People are very welcoming, great terrace and warm surrounding, staying here longer now :) great access to many restaurants, surfing schools and supermarkets.

It's a wonderful place to spend your vacation, do a bit of work in the Co-Working space, host a BBQ, or as a home base to enjoy the island of Gran Canaria.

It is perfectly situated on the surf beach, surrounded by bars, restaurants, supermarkets and surf schools.

The hostel itself was equiped with a nice roof terrace, where you could use the BBQ, there were places to stall our surf boards and wetsuits and it was very clean.

It also was not a problem if we wanted to have our dinner on the rooftop terras and our friends from the other hostel joined us.

My favorite was the family dinner, somehow every staff member knows how to cook! !

They also organised a concert and many dinners at the hostel!

You can have coffe beer or water and sit on the roof terrace and watch all the surf going on.

It is a great place to meet other travellers and it is situated in the perfect location - in front of the beach and close to bars and restaurants!

The Nights were quiet as well and the People from Stuff were always Kind and helpful.

Everyone is super kind and they do their best to give the guests a welcoming experience.

We could see the staff really caring for the aspect of the hostel and putting effort into it.

Loved the decor which combined original features with modern amenities.

We had a lovely corner room on the second floor, large and bright with lots of windows.

The hotel; the rooms are very practical, tastefully decorated, boutique-like, with comfortable bed, lovely views onto the main square.

Second time in Bed&Chic and i really love this place.

This area is recommended if you stay in LP, it feels like Cuba with its' colours and houses.

We stayed for 4 nights in this cool, chic hotel in the Park Catalina , Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

Stayed here in August for 2 nights , lovely hotel , spacious rooms (we had a suite) modern feel and style , wonderful staff,very friendly and spoke superb English, free breakfast which was simple

Everything about the Bed & Chic is wonderful.

but also comfortable and with a bit of charm and character.

Should we stay in Las Palmas again, we will definitely consider Bed&Chic.

The hotel overlooks Santa Catalina Park, which is enjoyed by locals and has lots of atmosphere.

The room is modern, renovated with a cool design.
