The staff and owner are very friendly, attentive and welcoming.

The vibe is really good here and even the people staying here are all friendly and everyone says hello.

I spending a good time in the hostel the staff was friendly you can ask them for everything, the hostel  was near to the beach and and hostel it’s so clean and rooftop with ketches you can see sunset there .

They moved to another room with more people that was even worse, the fan had to be off the door and windows too no curtains and it was extremely hot like a sauna.

Some days they were really hot other days they were mild and didn't really get warm.

The bed was uncomfortable, the pillow and duvet were cheap and smelling badly, the room was too hot and didn’t have a fan (had a broken window instead).

the rooftop will never be the same again since madeline “the volunteer” has left (but a hot french volunteer is there so maybe it’ll be a different kind of fun oh la la).

I asked for a refund and they wouldn’t give to me.

During my second day, I had to wash some clothes, and I asked for the laundry service.

We were asked to turn off even quiet music during the afternoon while the sun was shining, and we found that unfortunate.

When I asked about doing those exact activities, the front desk person had no idea what activities I was talking about,

The entire hostel was smelling like garlic and they were speaking really loud so I could hear them perfectly from my room.

It is often very noisy (very loud music and partying), which we did not know about when we booked.

My only regret is that it might be a bit noisy at night, because of the music at the bar (especially if you are on the first floor like i was in 2016) and people talking on the terrasses or playing music in the park.

When vehicles pass over them, they make a loud bump, bump noise.

The terrace is apparently open to all hotel guests, and I was a little worried it would be filled with loud, drunken people keeping us awake,

In front of the Parque Santa Catalina and the bus stops (which is a ten min ride to old town, I walked my first night to wake myself up and it took about an hour), where in the mornings the locals gather to play chess and on Sunday the couples dance the morning away.

Breakfast: this was the only slight downside as facilities (hosted in the small downstairs cafe which is also open to the public) are very limited - can sit outside on terrace when warm and sunny.

People partying, live music and more, no chance of an early night here.

Music and general talk that sounds like a constant swarm of bees.

though our room was high up enough that we did not hear the noise.

We were a little bit afraid that there could come some noise from the bars under our room

If you get a room facing the park you will hear noise from the bars and cafes beneath your window.

Workmen would wake us every morning with the sound of drilling and banging hope that's because they are building somewhere in doors to eat.

One very important warning: the location is LOUD until about 2am on weekends.

It would be bit noisy with the Windows wide open as you are in the centre of everything

When I was there it was the middle of the carnival with a stadium set up in the park so the noise was probably louder and later than it would normally be.

although there is a very busy roof terrace and bar from Thu - Sun we were not disturbed by this.

but street noise is still a potential problem.

It was noisy at night as another reviewer pointed out and did go on sometimes to 2.00pm in the morning

Small bathroom with stains on the tiled floor and fly screens in a state of disrepair.

Bathroom was far too small given the available space in the room, no drawers to put clothes in and a silly open wardrobe rail hanging on rope from the ceiling, step in the middle of the room which presents a trip hazard if needing the loo at night, ridiculous number of superfluous cushions on the bed which have to be moved every night.

The bathroom was a little on the small side and the shower wasn't great - it kept running hot and cold which is annoying.

but was badly stained), there weren't any bulbs in a standard lamp and hand soap was clearly in short supply as we were only given two small soaps in our entire stay; yes I do accept that there is a multi purpose fluid dispenser in the shower, but that isn't the solution.

The bathroom is very small and the shower tray overflows after a short shower.

Incredible value for money, very cool automated check in, very responsive staff and communication skills.

The Concorde was what we were looking for, a reasonably priced, clean and friendly Hotel near the beach.

The only downside is that the streets around the hotel can be a bit noisy early morning and late at night,

The most important thing is that the hotel is very noisy, and there are people talking loudly and dragging luggage outside the room from night until early morning.

There was an unpleasant sewerage smell on occasions and the spinning metal airvent looked damaged and makes a loud rattling sound.

although replacement lifts were being installed noise levels were very low.

but was in need of renovating and we didn't use it due to the on going work, drilling and dust.

We had a room on the 5th floor which was below the restaurant so you heard footsteps and scraping of chairs from about 7.30 onwards.

but with door and window closed no noise problem.

Would recommend - the only downside is the walls are very thin and you can hear people moving around in their rooms.

we stayed on the 5th floor and were woken very very early every morning as our rooms (we had 2 due to a leaking shower) were directly beneath the restaurant so we got to hear the tables and chairs being moved around the tiled floor.

We were only on a short 2 night break and head very little except some drilling

Bottle bins below our window which were collected every night- you can imagine the noise!!

The rooms have a 50 cm balcony out into a noisy street.

Exact next door, beside the wall at 7:30 in the morning there were people drilling, knocking, painting and everything you can imagine.

Also the rooms have quite poor sound insulation.

The pool is dirty with feathers and other bird nasty stuff.

Some of the hot breakfast wasn't that hot or the pancakes or pastries were sometimes slightly burned, and the bacon was always gross.

The bathroom was lovely, until I realised the drain was slightly blocked as when i finished showering the whole floor was wet.

Lovely shower room was spoilt by the drain not working as blocked by hair and nearly flooded the whole room, something for housekeeping to think about.

second floor, and there was so bad smell on that floor, came to the room, so we just left!

All cooked food is swimming in grease and couldn't even have a bowl of cereal as it tasted stale and the milk was warm.

When we came out, we stunk of fat and smoke.

So we were waking up at 7:30 with horrible noise, there was noise until about 16:00, and there was also bad smell of paint, and a lot of dust.

but even the cereals were stale tasting and the choice was just not very good at all.

The breakfast room was dominated by cooking smell and the breakfast was substandard

Smells little bit old, when air conditicion is not on.

I was told the manager (who had been at the hotel was on another island)

So, I made a short video to show most of the breakfast was geared for meat-eaters and disgustingly – they would cheese and smoked salmon in-between meat dishes.

I used the stairs to walk up to my room each day and the stair carpet was filthy and should be replaced.

If you a a non-smoker make sure you request a non smoking room as some of the floors absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke.

When there was a problem with the room, on the mixed smoking/non smoking corridor - we got immediately moved to another room with many apologies and complimentary basked of fruit - a thoughtful touch.

The staff throughout the hotel were lovely and my friends and I hope to return in the future.

The bar served coffee and alcohol at very reasonable prices and Ricardo was excellent as were the staff generally .

There’s also a mini fridge and reception we’re really helpful and got us a small kettle (on request) to use in the room.

Special mention to the girl at the reception Carmen, she was absolutely charming, that girl is a sweetheart.

It was just my kind of place, from the unusual 1960s architecture to the helpful staff and central location.

The hotel has 7 floors and includes a swimming pool with solarium, a restaurant that overlooks the sea and a bar off the reception.

Lizeth was ALWAYS, smiling, polite, charming and delightful.

Hotel could do with updating, staff very pleasant and food was good quality and plenty of it, good views from the restaurant.

They all couldn’t have been more helpful.

however there are a few things that need to be changed as it is definitely not a 4 star.

but on my opinion its only 2 stars at the moment.

When we first arrive to the door, it was definitely not how we expected it as it said its a 4* star.

It is not in my opinion at the moment of 4 star rating calibre.

the breakfast room has the best view of the whole hotel, definitely 5 stars there,  rooms were average, not too big not to small, the decor is a bit old

This is certainly not a 4 star hotel,  it's tried, dark and the rooms are not suitable for a family.

but dated and not 4 star - bed needed new matresses and no provision for making hot drinks in room.

4 stars well deserved and not very expensive either.

The hotel, in my opinion, is not a 4 star hotel and the rooms are very basic.

The main issue was that they decided to permanently close the main bar in the foyer area so it was not possible to get refreshments during the day or drinks in the evening (we used an excellent neighbouring hotel which had the same star rating or local bars).

but I don't think it justifies its 4 star rating.

Rooms are very simple, somehow dated, more like a 2 star hotel rather than four,

however it in no way compares with its neighbour, the Reina Isabel, although both are apparently rated four stars.

I don't think it would be listed as four star in Britain though, more like 3 1/2.

I do not consider this to be a 4 star hotel.

From reception right through to the house keeping staff, they were all extremely friendly and courteous.

Good location (100 m from the beach)  and friendly staff, they were helping us with everything .

The Bad things: 
None really, other than yes it can be a little noisy being in the heart of things, (

Liked - clean comfortable and close to the ferry port nd also close to the beach and associated restaurants
Disliked  - very noisy through the night both from guests and people outside in the street as there isn't appear to be any external sound cladding

I am somewhat sensitive to street noise, and it was not a problem for me, especially when I shut the windows when it was time to go sleep.

Many reviewers seem to have experienced excessive noise,

We were board only so noises during the day did not really affect us.

Sleep was impossible due to the room temperature and also the non-stop noise that came from each adjoining room.

Very noisy during the night, we could barely sleep!

though the hotel has double glazing, the noise is still loud.

and you could still hear the out side world.

Insulation is bad though: You could hear through the doors other people walking in the corridors and making noise.

but that's the risk wherever you are in a city) and what you can get when you wish to be close to everything) if not book a countryside hotel and taxi it over, but the room windows have double, double glazing which does cut out most of the noise as and when there is some which was very little in the 4 days we were there.

It also had double glazing, and so we heard so noise from the street during the night.

Least attractive was the noise from the port and the early morning sweepers.
