As always in older motels the A/C was noisy,

the only problem per say was the air conditioner was a little Loud.

A/C unit so noisy we turned it off and opened windows, only to listen to everyone else's A/C units clunking on and off and motorcycles rip down Saranac Ave. Night 2 and 3.

The air conditioning was very noisy so we could not use it overnight

All in all, I would totally recommend this hotel (staff is friendly, and again the view & the fire pit & the boats!!

That's not exactly true - the cute town center is a long way down the hill and around the corner. Too far to walk (especially the way back up the hill!)

I am happy I chose this hotel for my stay in Lake Placid area.

I took my  girlfriend up to lake placid (she loves it there) to propose.

We had an amazing time staying at the Placid Bay Hotel on Lake Placid!

If one wants a Lake Placid vacation one cannot ask for a better place to stay than the Placid Bay Hotel.

Great location, access to lake placid for all the water sports, amazing clean pool and grounds.

Love Lake Placid and will stay here again!

but perfect amenities – a refreshing dip in the pool – the “make a memory” kayak trip out onto  Lake Placid – and the fire pit for telling sasquatch stories well into the night.

Unlike many places in the area, this hotel is actually on Lake Placid (vs across the busy road to Mirror  Lake in downtown).

The location is, as was always, unrivaled on Lake Placid, with unparalleled views toward Whiteface, and the Sentinel Mountain Range.

My husband and I have been to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake many times and have stayed in several different hotels.

The views are beautiful and you can take a free canoe or kayak out on lake placid to get some more awesome views.

Very well kept up, great, hardworking owners, a wonderful location, right on Lake Placid (a calm bay), and pretty good value for the money.

Very close to downtown Lake Placid (walkable), which was very busy.

Kayaking in Paradox bay is right at your door, yet convenient to the village and all else to see and do in Lake Placid.

Our beds were beyond comfy , location was perfect walking distance to all the shops and restaurants .

The location is within walking distance to village restaurants, shops, and amenities; sporting sites are just a short drive away.

It was just minutes away from Main St. and all the restaurants, Mirror Lake, etc.

We were there for three nights and it was convenient to downtown restaurants and to Whiteface for skiing.

Clean place, nice view, walking distance restaurants and shops, attentive staff.

Location is excellent with minutes to all scenic areas, restaurants, shops and so on.

but still walkable to restaurants and easy to get to Saranac (I’m chasing my 6er goal!)

Black Bear was an excellent place for a milestone dinner.

but with all of the food and drink that we participated in, the walks were much needed!

However easy parking at the hotel made it easy to get around to area stores, restaurants and attractions.

It's so conveniently located, with town and restaurants a walk away, yet carves out a unique natural location directly on the bay.

A member of the staff saw us eyeing the duck family and took a break to come out with food for us to feed them, told us all about them and when they were born, etc.

but yet we were close enough to walk into town for coffee and breakfast in the morning, and delicious dinner at night.

but with many wonderful shops and food spots still walkable.

We got delivery for dinner one night from Dack Shack down the road and it was delicious.

Main Street is a :10 walk, brimming with shops, restaurants and treats.

The price was good with plenty of nearby eateries and shops.

There is a McDonalds and a Stewarts in close proximity so you can go get coffee and breakfast,

Really need to upgrade for technology (USB ports or more outlets)

but the WIFI was slow and somewhat spotty.

The only thing was the wifi was incredibly slow, other than that we will be back.

You can REALLY tell that the owners have put an exceptional amount of time and care into the hotel.

It was a perfect weekend and the placid bay hotel staff went above and beyond to make it special.

Emma, the property manager, could not have been more accessible, efficient, and accommodating.

Rooms were clean, efficient, and overall very nice.

She was so very kind and thoughtful, met my needs and questions readily even when I realized I hadn’t been as clear as I should have been! It’s a perfect location as it’s not in town

Anything we needed they were very responsive.

Management was helpful in terms of making a special arrangement for a slightly later checkout following the race.

The new owners renovated and update the property.

We book a king room with lake view and that's what we got.

The view from the dock is so stunning, could sit there for hours.

We had a view of the lake from our room,  and a large grassy area by the lake to hang out.

The views of the lake and mountains are spectacular.

The cottage is so close to the lake with breathtaking views of whiteface.

Spectacular view from any room of the lake along with free use of kayaks, canoes and life jackets.

I actually just spoke with Emma to reserve again for this coming week again!

Beautiful views of lake placid and whiteface mountain and close to everything.

Since it was in the main building the windows faced right out to the parking lot, and no other view except for the street.

We enjoyed sitting on the dock, and watching the sunrise from our window.

It was great to sit out there at different times around the fire enjoy the view and meeting other hotel guests.

The room with overlooking the bay with mountains beyond was tastefully decorated, very modern and comfortable.

Our room (#11) overlooked the bay and we had an amazing view of Whiteface just by opening our window.

The setting was what it was all about- the views were spectacular.

For example, each room has its own fresh air intake instead of sharing a central HVAC system, and much attention has been paid to air sanitization in public spaces to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.

My only issue with the rooms was the fact that the location of the a/c makes it difficult to keep the room cool (esp back in July when it was in the mid 90s) at night when you also want to pull the dark curtains which separate the sunroom (where the a/c is) from the bedroom.

However, I just want management to recognize it’s wrong to charge for WiFi to make extra revenue when this should be a basic amenity like water or air conditioning.

The steps taken to ensure proper sanitization of the rooms and common areas, as well as the safety of guests (ie: high-end UV-C lighting of HVAC system and wanding of dining room tables), are unlike anything I've seen at any other 4-Diamond property I've stayed at during my travels the past several months.

Please also refer to their website with ventilation system improvements and UV-C machines for sanitation for safety.

We had a slight snafu our 2nd night (leak above our toilet and water falling from the ceiling).

The bathroom fan was too loud to turn on, the décor still a little dated.

What we thought was an unpleasant and unavoidable  noise from the heating system turned out to be the refrigerator in our room.

I understand there may be people not as much of a fan as my family

Example - no central air so the box air conditioner in our room exits into the patio making it so hot and noisy you can’t sit their.

Inconvenient switching of the elevators and floors just to get to the lobby.

We were in the Terrace building, right next to the main building, which is connected by elevator, or you could go outside (short walk). When the champagne glasses arrived, and we opened the door, the man handed them to us and said "I walked through the snow and the wind to get these to you."

They had Air filters and hand sanitizers throughout the hallways and elevators.

In the hallways, lobby, elevator etc. unbelievable!!!

The copper elevator was a horrible choice as it smells.

Convoluted stairs and elevators can be a challenge.

But: 
Access to our room (838)
Was not convenient.steps are to be climbed in order to reach the elevator.

although there are elevators and walkways to get you from one building to another, there are challenges if you have mobility issues.

The hotel overall feels cluttered from the all the signage in the elevator to the strange sales video playing in the hallway to the main building.

We again found everyone on staff to be super friendly and accommodating.

The grounds are incredible, the room was gorgeous and the staff was friendly and helpful!

….The staff is friendly, so helpful & totally geared to customer satisfaction, which speaks to how they are trained & to the philosophy of the owners & management of the hotel.

The location and vistas are superlative, the staff very friendly and attentive, the food delicious and the rooms uber comfortable.

From the moment of check in to check out, every staff person I encountered was so friendly and always asked if there was anything they could do.

I’m so glad we chose the Mirror Lake Inn to spend the last few days.

We stayed in the Mirror Lake Inn for three nights and couldn't have been more impressed.

Stayed in the main building on the 2nd floor, overlooking Mirror Lake and we were soooo lucky to have weekend of wonderfully beautiful weather to wake up to - the lake was truly a mirror! The inn has exceptional service, the overall facility is so very well maintained (thank you to the care given, team!)

I stayed at Mirror Lake Inn for a Vogue Knitting Destinations retreat with Joji Locatelli and Veera Valimake.

The Mirror Lake Inn is a beautiful place to stay in the Adirondacks.

A Fantastic stay made even better by the hospitality team at the Mirror Lake Inn.

We would definitely return to Mirror Lake Inn and certainly would highly recommend it

Whatever the season & throughout Covid, Mirror Lake Inn has been consistent in cleanliness & safety & they’re now back.

I absolutely adored staying at Mirror Lake Inn during my recent winter trip to Lake Placid.

Our first time at mirror lake/lake placid and the Mirror Lake Inn was spectacular.

Another excellent visit to the Mirror Lake Inn.

Mirror Lake itself is beautiful -  snow covered and frozen for walking/skating on during our visit.

Having never been to Lake Placid what a treat having our stay be at Mirror Lake Inn for a late fall weekend, the hotel and its location were beyond what we had expected.

My husband and I stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn for two nights and it was nothing short of AMAZING!

It has not been updated since 1970 and is very unclean, carpet had stains like a murder scene had taken place and we told management who said they had many complaints about it

The rooms are dated and in dire need of major renovations.

The maintenance man came and was shocked to see the the tub in its condition and also apologized.

That said, it's in need of an update, and the amenities just aren't there for the cost.

but the rest of the place felt like it was trapped in time and in real need of some updating.

Until then, I hope everyone stays well and encourage people to stay here and dine here when conditions permit.

but the whole building was in need of renovation.

The Cons - Overall the rooms are old, tired and zero updates over the last decade.

Our other nights we dined at The Cottage which was delicious

We had dinner at the View and they made that extra special by printing our anniversary on the menu and piping it in chocolate on our dessert plate.

Great drinks, solid eats and bartenders that are at the top of their game.

We splurged for a couples massage and dinner at The View.

Dinners at both The View and The Cottage were wonderful.

Very large room where we had a private dinner with a bar and breakfast and a meeting there the next day.

Again the staff noted my husband's birthday and even provided a complimentary birthday  dessert and a framed photograph of us.

Top shelf spa and excellent dining in the restaurant.

Great Food (if you stay here make a point to have a dinner at The View).

The couples massage was fantastic, the food in the View is outstanding & of course , Matt at the bar & the Cottage all added to a fantastic time.

I also liked how close the hotel was to all of the winter Olympic facilities, including Whiteface Mountain as well as restaurants and shops In town!

We walked to town on the frozen lake and saw dog sleds and enjoyed all the little restaurants and shops.

My wife offered that she would like to see a bar/tavern food menu  available earlier in the day.

An easy walk to Main Street for dining and shopping.

We were greeted with a card, champagne, and some chocolates to celebrate our anniversary.

On the day in question we were on our way out for a paddle in the canoe so weren't impacted for very long by this guest's playlist,

Every single employee we encountered was kind and caring and very attentive to our needs.

Awesome lodging and fantastic staff make this stay worth the expense.

Everyone there is helpful, accommodating, and just downright nice.

Everyone we encountered who worked at the resort were nice and professional.

We met a gentleman by happenstance named Jamey while exiting the elevator and struck up a great conversation.

The staff couldn’t be nicer to work with and the meeting planner, Stephanie, went above and beyond to assure that everything went perfectly.

The staff clearly goes out of their way to ensure that the room is sanitized between bookings,
The last night we had dinner at The View which was also exceptional.

So if you are yearning for a spoiling in a Lake Placid award-winning resort with cozy accommodations, ultra attentive staff, luxurious spa and delicious dining options. .

I slipped on ice on their driveway going down to the lake near the reception are.

From cookies at the front desk to a great suite we enjoyed it.

The lobby is lovely, multiple areas where you can view the beautiful lake.

Once again we chose an Oak Knoll room—we love the third-floor view from the sunroom, where we can still feel present in our Adirondack experience even while taking a break.

We had a mountain view room and it was spectacular.

I had a great view of the lake (and the pool area!).

Between the hospitality and the views of the lake and Adirondacks we really couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

The picturesque Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY are the backdrop for the Mirror Lake Inn & Spa (the Mirror) which is located in the Olympic Village of Lake Placid.

The view from our room was beautiful too.

We stayed in room 106 overlooking the lake.

The place is magic, the service is good, rooms are clean, the view from the room was beautiful and my daughter loved the cookies!

Our breakfast was amazing with another great view.

To be specific: old dirty carpet on the floor, outdated plumbing in the bathrooms, wall mounted phone next to a tiny toilet bowl( 1980ies???

Only downside was how thin the walls between rooms seemed - we were able to pretty clearly hear the family next to us.

The walls and windows are not sound proof at all.

Ours had a separate seating area with wall to wall windows looking out to the lake.
