Swimming pool was freezing way colder than the stated 80F.

A/c had an issue floor in about one fourth was soaked wet, maintenance came to check on second day and never came back.

Upon entering the room, we immediately began shivering, and when I checked the thermostat, I found that it was set to 62.

The room was average with the patio a bit run down and dripping from the air conditioner from above.

Our first balcony was a little noisy with the air conditioner system nearby.

The air conditioning unit was too loud to sleep with (not unusual) so we turned it off and were then just left with diving noises and loud shireking from the pool until nearly 10pm.

Front desk sent extra blankets and offered a space heater for the night.

The room's air conditioning was also very loud - reminiscent of an industrial fan, which wakes you up every time it switched on during the night.

The only downside was a loud air conditioner in the room.

The units should be separated just like smoking units.

He had a terrible and dismissive attitude and just blew it off and they charged me the maximum rate (I would have stayed elsewhere or at least booked through HotelTonight if I had known this when we inquired).

The exhaust fan was almost non-existent, so the mirror was useless for 10 minutes after a shower until the rain stopped.

Was up with friends for a hockey tournament in April (where the temperature was a balmy 20 degrees with freezing rain and snow. .).

The only issue we had was the heater trying to get the room temp constant and the heater sounded like a jet engine taking off.

Old school wall heater blasts cold air then finely changes to warm and is noisy.

If I were being picky, my only complaints are the air conditioning unit in the room was a little loud when it clicked on and there is no vent fan int the bathroom, both of those issues probably can't be fixed at this point.

Rest room fan did not work, Sitting area was bookended by two air conditioning units that dripped water and roared on through our attempt to converse.

The hotel was wonderful - the views across the lake were beautiful, the interior of the hotel was immaculate and comfortable.

We had a one night stay at this beautiful hotel, the staff were great, we got a free upgrade on both rooms with fantastic scenery of the lake, the rooms were of good size clean with all amenities.

Most IHG hotels provide excellent service, well-appointed rooms at a competitive price.

It is a shame that one person can put a damper on your experience while others here were nice and friendly!

The views of the mountains and Mirror Lake are outstanding.

I looked out over the garden area to Mirror Lake and the picturesque church on its edge.

but it did have a nice view of Mirror Lake.

Perhaps the best part of this hotel is the beautiful view of Mirror Lake.

We were upgraded to a view of Mirror Lake which was fantastic to wake up to each morning.

The best part is the amazing view of the mountains behind Mirror Lake in the distance.

You have access to everything around Mirror Lake and Lake Placid.

Now lastly, the restaurant at the hotel has an outdoor patio with the best view of mirror lake and the mountains probably in all of the town.

Our room was very clean with a gorgeous view of Mirror lake and the Mountains.

This hotel is conveniently located right next to Mirror Lake.

We also discovered that this hotel has their own small beach across the way on Mirror Lake.

The view as always is amazing, the buffalo wings were delicious and having a drink by the fire pit at sunset with the view of Mirror Lake is always worth the 4 hour plus drive.

A stale smell masked with fragranced cleaning products.

The lobby and the lower floor was never quiet.

The only major complaint that we have is that when checking out the lady behind the counter was coughing non stop.

One note though, if you are there on a huge weekend event like Ironman or during a youth hockey tournament, I would expect a little more noise of kids running around from room to room.

Brought both issues to booking agents attention and the lack of care or understanding was disturbing.

Seems to get a lot of youth sports teams, so some halls can be a bit noisy depending on where they place you.

The walls were not soundproofed enough to minimize the normal speaking in the adjacent room.

The fireplace was underwhelming and noisy.

We were tired, a little frustrated, and anxious about where we were going to spend the night. After an initial misstart with a room that wasn't quite what we were looking for, we were located in a beautiful (and quiet!)

You could hear them running through the hallways all night long.

The only complaint -- and I wouldn't even label it as a complaint -- is that the fire alarm went off on new years eve around 10 p.m. for a very quick period of time (two or three very loud chirps).

.the noise and puppy barking was very loud and caused our dog to be very curious instead of him being calm.

A dangerous and unruly evening in the pool, banging on our door by running group of teens, and loud conversation in our corridor at 12:30am.

My biggest issue with this hotel is that you can hear everything and it is not very sound proof.

The next morning, we saw the same waiters, still coughing and looking ill, working in the dining room.

Had to turn jets off to make somewhat enjoyable.

Was happy to be able to use my mobility scooter throughout the property including the restaurant.

We ate dinner one night in the Great Room.

It's a quick walk to downtown restaurants and shopping and a short drive to Whiteface.

The evening food at a couple of receptions was good, well prepared and tasty.

The disappointment is the hotel and rooms.

The first room had two beds and the second had a king bed.

Fantastic location as you can easily walk to the Olympic Center, toboggan slide and local shops and restaurants.

The hotel is very nice, set up on a hill above the Olympic center with panoramic views of the lake and mountains.

It is located close to everything (not just famous the Olympic Center and all it has to offer just below the property).

Perfect location with a short cut down to main street and next to the Olympic Center.

Good location walking distance to Main St,  the Olympic Center and the public beach.

Now, the hotel itself is great - sitting proud on a hill overlooking Mirror Lake and the Olympic Center of 1923 and 1980.

This hotel is walking distance to the Olympic Center where the competition is being held.

The huge patio was unbelievably great, super views of the lake and the mountains and the firepit was an added bonus.

There are many nooks, inside and out, for sitting and enjoying the views.

This handsome hotel adjacent to the Olympic stadium sits regally on a hill with views of Moon Lake, the village of Lake Placid, and the surrounding mountains.

first off, the views of the mountains are amazing.

We chose the Crowne Plaza because it offered a balcony with a view, and was centrally located.

The view was pretty overlooking the lake and mountains.

The views are amazing and the whole hotel is beautiful.

Fantastic location to overlook the lake and see some breathtaking views.

They then take us to one of the oldest rooms facing the hvac on the roof instead of the lake view in the newer section that I had booked.

We loved using the paddle boat to go around the lake, which is complementary.

Free kayaking, stand up paddle boards, and pedal boats, and Fernando the attendant was awesome!

Pools were nice and had plenty of kayaks, paddle boats and boards available.

we loved the pool and lake and the included access to the paddle boats and boards was great!

We also enjoyed using the boats on Mirror Lake.

From the lobby to the restaurant to the boat area, the staff was absolutley wonderful.

Complementary  kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards there, with super attentive waterfront staff.

The amenties of the hotel are great- free paddle boats, kayaking, SUP, beautiful lobby/lounge- and the location is perfect.

Our favorite part of this resort was the free use of kayaks, paddle boats, and paddle boards down by the lake across the street.

The paddle boats, kayaks, and paddle boards were an amazing amenity that we used every day.

They had several kayaks, sup boards and pedal boats for visitors to use, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Paddle boats, kayacs, canoes are free (actually included in the resort fee), and available from the Waterfront Collection part of the resort.

but easy to access and there were kayaks, stand up paddle boards and paddle boats for the use of guests.

We enjoyed our stay at High Peaks with convenient walks around Mirror Lake, to Lake Placid, to 1980 Olympic venues and many restaurants. Resort offered paddle boats which we also enjoyed on Mirror Lake (they also offered paddles and kayaks.)

The hotel also provides kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and paddle boats for their guests.

We rented a speed boat with a tube on nearby Lake Placid - the kids absolutely loved that.

An added bonus this year was the addition of two helpers at he dock to assist with getting into and out of kayaks, paddle boats and stand up paddle boards.

The activities included in our room were amazing and we had a lot of fun with the paddle boats!

No matter where we went during our stay, I couldn't wait to get back to the room to relax an the back lawn that also had a dock, complete with kayaks, paddle boards, and pedal boats, all of which were free.

She checked us in quickly and told us to come back after we were settled for a glass of welcome champagne.

We loved the free champagne at arrival and the cookies in the afternoon.

The resort is amazing,  the staff are friendly, helpful  and greeted us with a glass of champagne upon arrival.

I ordered a bottle of champagne and cheese board to be in our room upon our arrival and everything was great!

We were welcomed with complimentary champagne.

We were met with glasses of champagne upon check-in, which was so nice after a nearly 6-hour drive.

You are greeted with a roaring fireplace in the lobby, complimentary champagne, and cookies.

Check in was a breeze, the front desk person was so welcoming, and we were offered champagne on arrival.

We had an excellent early check in with courtesy champagne and good consistent daily cleaning.

This resort went above & beyond after listening to my disappointment, front desk associate, Minerva & Manager, Jason, sent an ice bucket with champagne & 2 glasses as a surprise to brighten our moods which it definitely did.

The lobby is beautifully decorated in a classic Adirondack style, and we were greeted with a glass of Champagne upon arrival.

When we were greeted with champagne, during our check-in, I realized just how high the bar had been set towards hosting guests and making their experience a pleasant one.

We were in our room after a glass of champagne within minutes of walking through the door.

Greeted kindly and with a glass of champagne.

They welcomed us with champagne and treated us like family the entire time.

We were greeted with a glass of champagne and a smile.

Not only did they have such an inviting and welcoming staff they had complimentary glass of champagne at check in!

The staff were all cordial and we were able to get our check in champagne the next day since we checked in so late.

The moment you walk in you're greeted with complimentary champagne.

As soon as we got to the desk they said our room was all set and ready for us, and brought out a chilled bottle of champagne and two glasses and immediately congratulated us!

but this place is charging Ritz prices for a very outdated, dingy interior.

It did not feel like anyone is in charge and you see dirty dinner dishes in the hallway, service doors wide open throughout the day and an exercise area that was just adequate.

Turns out they charged incidentals to the corporate card anyway (more on that later).

I’m not sure id pay the extra charge for a premier room again.

Beware of the "hidden" resort fee charge that did not show up on our reservation information.

I could not see spending the amount of money they were charging and not getting the room we wanted.

When asked why I was being charged for a night I wasn't going to spend there, she said I had accepted their cancellation policy when I signed in upon arrival.

There are no outlets near the bed and we had to unplug all the lamps to use those outlets to charge our phones at night.

Unfortunately one dumb guy behind the front desk who reprograms peoples card keys who are so drunk they have forgotten what room they are in without checking id will have unfortunate consequences.

Third, I had to give them $50 on my credit card for a fully paid room "just in case".

Also, at a hotel charging a resort fee, it's an insult when you get plastic glasses in the room, no robes or amenities, not even basics like a shower cap, pad of paper and pen, "do not disturb" sign for the door, or tv channel guide.

However a day after checkout my card was charged an additional $50 for a mandatory resort fee.

but my calls were not answered and I was still charged $400!

By the time the weekend was over, they charged me for the full stay!

There was some kind of “glitch” with the credit card.

We were a bit early and our room wasn't ready, so they did a pre-check-in and we got our parking pass and cards that we could use for the outdoor facilities.

After pointing it out to waitress, she told us there would be no charge for salad, and actually came across as nasty about it.

but when i said we were already unpacked and were told at the time of check-in there were no other rooms available, I choose to accept her offer of "Ill give you a business card so next time you can book directly with me."

As it is, the resort is promoting inaccurate information on its website and through its reservation desk, and  unfairly charging guests a higher rate for a room with a "view" without actually providing one.

Tasteful decor, clean & comfortable rooms, great location on Saranac & Main and delicious food.

Great location in center of town for shopping, dining and start of a 3 mile walk around Mirror Lake.

The location right by lake and pool was great!

The location was convenient to all the restaurants and shops.

High Peaks is in a great location right on Main Street with a pretty view of the lake.
