My only issue was the noise of the AC unit.

The air conditioning unit could not be set below 70 degrees - and it was also very noisy - which made for a poor nights’ sleep, so “2”.

I suspect the unit on the room door was defective or in need of new batteries.

The only small issue that we faced during our stay was the very noisy air conditioning in the room.

The rooms are a little outdated and there was no fan in the bathroom for when you showered.

so for the not so good stuff : the AC is loud!

The saying goes that "the squeaky wheel gets the grease",

Although this hotel is located in a great area, it has many anoying features, noisy airconditioning, odd furniture everywhere - looks like it was decorated from a surplus furniture store, poor cleaning service, noise from other rooms.. . .

The main downside is that the AC is noisy; we switched it off overnight, leading to somewhat warm nights.

The beds are comfortable, and I like that you can adjust the room temperature -- not just a window unit with varying degrees of cold air blowing on you, like many hotels.

The one downfall, which I did read in other reviews, was that the air conditioner in the room was very loud (we were in room 507)!

Unfortunately, the air conditioning/heating system is so incredibly, almost comically loud, we had trouble sleeping.

It’s no secret that I’m a Hampton fan.

Only minor issues were rather loud heating and bath tub that did not fill up

The air conditioner had a tendency to be on the noisy side though.

Beautiful lodge style hotel that is ideally located within walking distance to Lake Placid village and local activities.

This is really an ideal resort - tons of family activities

Adirondack architecture provides a true camp feel, from the lemonade and cookies provided at check-in, to the manager's reception, to the games and activities galore, to the bar with a wide variety of local drinks.

This was anything from a free dinner- in addition to the free breakfast plus activities for kids like poster making- cookie decorating and wild life show and tell.

The property is lovely, and we enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the activities on Mirror Lake.

Location was great and we could walk to the 1980 rink and the activities in mirror lake.

Games available to keep kids/yourself entertained.

Very accommodating to our big hockey crew!

He offered insights into restaurants, local activities and ing the area has to offer.

There were also lots of people walking on the frozen lake as well as skating and playing hockey.

Rooms were very quiet even with many young teams there for hockey.

I travel quite often and have come to Lake Placid for vacation, hockey tournaments, etc.

Upgrade and get a room with a balcony overlooking Mirror Lake.

Ideally located on the shore of Mirror Lake and minutes walk from town, the Hampton Inn is a  place to unwind after doing all the things the Adirondacks have to offer.

I've been a long-time guest of the High Peaks Hotel on Mirror Lake and decided to change it up for a quick "Leaf Peeping" trip.

Hotel is conveniently located right by Mirror Lake.

This hotel is like an Alpine Ski Lodge and is located right on Mirror Lake.

Once you park you can walk around Mirror Lake and to all the restaurants and shops on Main St.

Good views of the end of Mirror Lake/beach area (the rest of the lake is partially obstructed by a line of pine trees).

Across the street from Mirror Lake, a smaller lake by Lake Placid.

My family had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn on Mirror Lake in Lake Placid.

It's beautiful, in a great spot in town with an amazing view of Mirror Lake.

Rooms are big and always clean, breakfast is the best, whirlpool and pool are great to visit and location is very scenic of Mirror Lake and the mountains.

The staff are amazing, the hotel is spotless, the rooms are huge (we had a suite with a beautiful view of Mirror Lake).

We also could walk the 2,6 mile walk around Mirror lake each day.

Phone charger did not work in bedside table too loose of a connection.

We were not recognized as Diamond Members by front desk, save a message through the mobile app to which I received no reply when I asked for assistance.

Michelle promised a refund and Isabella promised return calls neither have happened.

Had a very frustrating time making a phone reservation because of the language barrier.

I asked for the phone number of the vendor at the end of the transaction.

The person that I spoke with over the phone told us that some of the even numbered balcony rooms have a partial lake view with trees blocking the full lake, so rather than mislead customers, they just don’t list lake view at all.

I tried to call both the desk and housekeeping

but our room was not available however the front desk placed us on a priority list took our cell number and contacted us a short time later great customer service.

Had to call multiple times over a 90 minute period and I let it ring, and ring, and ring, and ring. 14.

I got call that I was going to be a no show.

I felt terrible for the student hire forced to answer calls while trying to just about everything else.

i would call it a large room with a divider in the middle, not really a suite.

She said I didn't know I have to call and I am sorry.

She wasn't trained on when to call the police and she had no idea how to deal with this situation.

I  call it gouging not supply and demand!

We had a room with a lake view and a balcony.

I did also receive a text later to check on how the room was.

Tianna went above and beyond accommodating our room requests.

Some of the rooms overlook Mirror Lake, if you can get one of these rooms its totally worth it.

but he upgraded us to a balcony room overlooking the lake.

Our room was on 3rd floor with a balcony.

Nicely appointed hotel, conveniently located, friendly staff.

Overall, though, we appreciated the staff and the easy access of this hotel.

but enough to start the day 
we would recommend this hotel to anyone as such kind service with all staff.

When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile and a surprise upgrade since we were staying for 6 nights and were Hilton Honors members.

We arrived a few hours before check in and Ozzy was so kind and accommodating!

The staff were friendly and genuinely glad to talk with you.

The staff was very kind and we enjoyed using the hot tub.

All the front desk staff are from other counties like Mexico and Jamaica with amazing work ethic  and attitude.

This is an upscale version of your classic Hampton Inn with everything you would expect at Halton plus great location, nice view and beautiful lobby.

The hotel is in a great location and has  great views from their patio/restaurant.

The huge lobby with large windows overlooking Mirror Lake is great for sitting back and relaxing.

If you want to be outside for the same view, they also have chairs to watch.

The view of the lake was the most gorgeous view ever!

You also get a nice view of the mountains.

The large lobby with lake view was also lovely.

We LOVED having a balcony to relax on and look out at the view.

The breakfasts at the View are just what you would expect from a luxury hotel, fresh fruits and pastries as well as good hot options such as sausages and eggs.

Breakfast the next morning we opted for the buffet which was very nice with a wonderful selection.

Curtiss created a special menu using local, seasonal ingredients that was very impressive.

Beautiful grounds and gardens, amazing views (colonial house faces straight down the lake looking southeast at the high peaks), terrific service at all the facilities we used- front desk, boathouse, breakfast.

He intervened and warned the person off, then had the kitchen prepare fresh scrambled eggs for that person.

Include or fix the buffet and they are 5  star for sure!

We also had breakfast at the view each morning which was really good!

One of the main disappointments for me was breakfast at the Mirror Lake Inn.

We received a room upgrade, champagne and a delicious cheese plate before our dinner at The View.

We love the breakfast buffet, and the gorgeous views.

We are at the View several days for breakfast and one evening for NYE dinner.

For breakfast, the home made hash was a huge hit.

Andrew working breakfast meeting guests was awesome.

The buffet, service, room and overall ambiance are simply wonderful.

We decided to eat breakfast in the room most mornings to enjoy the view.

Our other nights we dined at The Cottage which was delicious

The view was excellent for both breakfast and dinner.

but they were prepared  by the staff of The View restaurant and served buffet style either in that area or our retreat location.

His favorite parts were the 24 hour chocolate chip cookies in the lobby and the rustic lodge-like indoor swimming pool. My husband loved the coffee and the ability to charge our electric vehicle right at the hotel (although wished that maybe it would be included in the price of the stay.)

There are always fresh cookies, my kids favorites.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the kids loved the fresh cookies they received at check in.

I saw kids enjoying the pool and hot tub, getting board games at the desk and enjoying fresh cookies.

So the sour taste turned to sweetness like their cookies!

but we did eat our share of the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby.

The fresh baked cookies that are always available were an extra special touch.

Having coffee, water, seltzer, and cookies available at all times was also pretty great.

The resort also has complimentary coffee and cookies in the lobby.

They also have coffee, tea and cookies out for you all day and evening.

There is a never ending supply of fresh chocolate chip cookies to enjoy as well as morning coffee and tea.

The Inn has great restaurants, a fire pit, complimentary chocolate chip cookies in the lobby, great fire places to warm up to, an awesome spa and indoor pool!

From cookies at the front desk to a great suite we enjoyed it.

The place is magic, the service is good, rooms are clean, the view from the room was beautiful and my daughter loved the cookies!

..right down to the fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies always available at the front desk!

From the welcoming cookies to the dinner menu with our anniversary printed and the champagne upon our arrival everyone made us feel very special!

There seemed to be a never-ending supply of yummy chocolate chip cookies.

Idid miss the signature chocolate chip cookies.

We were charged $20 per night for a housekeeping tip and the housekeepers never entered our room.

It’s very basic: scrambled eggs; sausage/bacon; and pancakes - and the hotel charges for it.

However, he was then asked for his email address, when he was then asked for his credit card number (the hotel had already received our deposit and an imprint of our credit card); my husband lost patience and terminated the conversation.

We were charged $3454.00 for three nights for this “suite”.

but also gave us a $250 room credit for another visit.

I just do not understand how this hotel can charge $560 for a room in the off season and treat the customers so badly.

To charge such high rates and then insult the customer by adding a suggested gratuity is ridiculous.

The other annoying thing is the fact that they actually charged our account $1450.00 days before we even arrived.

For a resort that prides itself on luxury, could not really identify any element that you would usually expect at a place charging these kind of prices.

but they don't tell you that there is a delivery charge and gratuity included so what we thought was a $36 breakfast plus our $4 cash tip turned out to be a $52 breakfast for 1 order of french toast, 1 order of bacon, 1 order of toast, 1 order of home fries and 2 coffees.

I almost fell over when they demanded to put a $2080.00 "hold" on my credit card for a stay where the total cost was $2,100.00 and half was prepaid.

but it is the idea of charging for WiFi that is wrong.

They charge $15 per day for use of their chargers.

The charge was $50, which was a bit much.

For what they charge, they need to fluff up everything except the staff.

One gripe was the WiFi - its slow and they charge you after two devices - c’mon - its 2019 and the place is not inexpensive - knock off the nickel and dime business.

Are the cleaning people really getting this or is it a hidden add on charge for the hotel.

But when I stayed In April, I left my debit card in my spa robe and I had no idea I had left it.

The manager graciously agreed to immediately credit our credit card.

All the on-site amenities are incredible and unique with inside (huge hot tub and bridge) & outside heated salt water pool.

There's also a very big companion hot tub and a sauna.
