Service is attentive and all common spaces, from breakfast room, swimming pool to restaurants work well. But.

As a group of 4 we stayed in the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

but the buffet breakfast was outstanding and included in our room rate.

We only had breakfast at the hotel which was okay.

The breakfast service is non-existent… cheap coffee machine in the dining room, it’s DIY.

Buffet breakfast is a nice location with good views over the golf course & great if you like lukewarm food & cold coffee.

Breakfast excellent and the front desk, especially Rita, were very helpful in all respects.

Can not fault the hotel reception staff pool bar staff and breakfast staff excellent friendly helpful service.

The course is in great condition and the food was lovely for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Small family run hotel, excellent personalized service, friendly staff, spacious tidy rooms, very quiet air condition, doule rooms with 2 kingsize beds, en-suite shower bath,  lift, served breakfast made to order, 3 bars, one on rooftop, shops and restaurants in walking distance, ideal for a getaway.

but breakfast in these times was very good.

Breakfast was excellent with a very extensive range of offerings available.

The staff are excellent, the location is incredible - service was consistently great wherever we went, and the food at the Asia restaurant was delicious.

Housekeeping is excellent,  and the turn down service an added luxury with delicious chocolates.

If you get bed and breakfast there are loads of places to eat 5 minutes walk up the road. Best Golf on North and South Courses (Get a buggy!)

however it needs to be highlighted that the hotel is in need of an interior refurbishment, rooms are very run down - carpets worn, marble flooring cracked and discoloured - in its heyday it must have been spectacular!

You pay 5* prices for old furniture, bathrooms that hadn’t been updated since last century 90’s, a carpet smelling dust and signs  of wear and tear, lack of investment all over.

Rooms and common areas very tired,  paintwork was very tatty and the carpets so dirty we felt uncomfortable.

If the paintwork and carpet issues were addressed this would be an amazing hotel.

however the corridors and room are in dire need of refurbishment, no way in this condition could you say it is more than 2 star, worn carpets, room smelt damp and musky, such a shame as until this is completed we would not spend the money to stay here again.

Carpets are filthy and worn both in the rooms and in all corridors ive seem better 2 star hotels .

All rooms have very old carpets and there was visibly mold in the walls.

The Negative is the hotel needs to get rid of the carpet, which I am assuming has been down for quite a few years.

All fixtures were dated, carpet stains etc.

but had mould in the carpet (see pic).stained carpets and chipped paint and wood everywhere in hotel.

The first room that we have received on 11th August had a lot of dirty spots on the carpet as well was not smelling well.

but it’s looking very tiered rooms clean but in need of a refurbishment, carpet in room left a picture this is more 2 star at a push.

One Thing I dislike, is having carpets in the room!

but managed to get a room, the hotel is definitely in need of a spruce up, all the carpets in the public area were dirty, our room had a shower over the bath with a shower curtain not what you would expect in a 5*, for €210 for one night, the breakfast was fine, again food under lights and cold is not 5* to me.

but probably clean just that carpets, bathroom are getting tired and could do with a refurbishment.

This hotel is so very tired and needs a revamp big style, cracked tiles, stained carpets, chipped furniture and we booked deluxe rooms too!

The hallways have not seen any decoration in 2 decades at least the carpets probably not cleaned in that time also.. you find plug sockets hanging out the wall, fire extinguishers missing, chunks taken out of walls and cracks in the walls.

but some of the carpets in the corridors are def.

Boys were pleased with golfing side, professional and everything they needed.

The facilities were top notch, the kids club (half days only) was great, the kids loved it, we also played mini golf, pitch and putt, tennis, swam in both the spa pool and the outdoor pool (though a little chilly in October - it would be great if it were heated) and had a footy kickabout.

Spent 4 days as last year here..great for children doing so many activities

We have been to La Manga before with one of our teenage sons and he loved it so this year we took his friend and they had a great time playing Tennis and Football.

My adult children played in the tennis tournaments, which they loved.

Chris Halliday taught my kids tennis; he is a born teacher, and had them giggling away as they improved their games.

Bar 37 (Golf Clubhouse): The new interior and deck are beautiful and the menu was perfect for a lovely sunny light lunch.

We spent two weeks at this hotel with our 11 and 9 year old children.

Disappointed that I could not use my flotation device in the pool yet it was acceptable for children to bomb in the pool and to have ball games in every part.

My son (almost 12 years old) and I stayed here for 5 nights.

Needless to say the pool isn’t an option unless of course you’re happy listening to screaming children and being hit by flying balls and it’s not even end of term!

We first visited this hotel 4 years ago with our then 17 year old son.

but not brilliant the kids still had plenty to do will be returning in 2018

although there were a few young children.

Perfect place for middle aged guys who want a civilised break and some sport and also nice for families

I joined the tennis academy for days great value and fun for daughter 8 and my wife and I. Hotel,seemed full so perhaps my comments are not of value

The boys had a great five days, with personal 1-on-1 coaching plus group sessions, while we sat in some shade reading a book.

Los Nietos beach lovely and deserted with calm clear water in the LAgoon - perfect for children.

Hotel was very poor and a bit like stepping back in time.

but then you walk along the corridors dragging your own cases (as there is no one to take bags to the room) & the realisation is that the poor reviews were spot on.

Where once immaculate white hatted chefs turned out creative and delicious food, there now operates a behind the scenes kitchen totally reliant on poor quality bought in catering food.

There is no gym or spa to speak of, something we were really disappointed about, plus the condition of the golf courses during our stay was exceptionally poor.

so very poor management of the hotel and the hotel manager.

We played golf the next morning on the West Course again not what we expected, the course was very tight and in poor condition, neither the hotel or the golf were worth the money

Very expensive food and very poor quality, for example you pay 4 euro for a Fanta.

The restaurant provides breakfast and dinner: the food at breakfast, whilst of top quality, is served warm and not hot; the evening meals are quite poor.

The Wi-Fi signal is really poor in the rooms.

Breakfast for the first 4 days was like a obstacle course due to the poor layout of the breakfast with people going in every direction & children running round.

but a poor attitude prevails in the management team.

I now would not do so on principle, and reading the recent poor TripAdvisor reviews that decision was set in stone.

There have been comments on the carpet - the route along to the second floor bedrooms has rucks in the carpet all the way along - clearly not fitted properly seems action may only be taken if some poor soul actually trips on it, gets an injury and sues the hotel.

The room was old, the wifi didnt work, the tv channel was very poor.

No recommended unless they upgrade the rooms and facilities to match the price point.

however this is massively short of investment, wouldn't pay to play this again unless they have done a huge amount of work.

Food in the hotel and drinks were expensive so often we ate at the establishments nearby.

Way to overpriced and overated for this prehistoric hotel.

Food was a little disappointing and q overpriced.

the hotel manager was threatening us all the time that we had to get out of the hotel and find our own, or we could find a hotel in town for Monday, which we had to pay for ourselves.

but rather expensive and only à la carte.

Golf buggies are expensive compared with other Spanish courses.

The restaurants were varied enough and of high enough quality if a little pricey.

However I extremely disappointed to report that I had pair of expensive Headphones stolen by the Lifeguard.

This is the only problem with the hotel, and I am assuming it would cost quite a lot of money to relay, or replace, hence why it has not been done.

A mile up the road, dated and you have to pay to use the indoor pool and jacuzzi.

I am very angry at the cost of this hotel when it needs shut down and refurbished.

but for the price paid this can be overlooked.

Even the smell is like an old folks home!

(And the chairs in there smell really bad by the way).

Serious rethink needed by hotel if it is to continue, as eventually the reviews of musty carpet will keep people away, which would be a shame.

Unfortunately we have had a bad experience as on arrival we had to change rooms due to a damp smell and now the room we are in has no proper balcony.

After complaining regarding smoking in the poolside restaurant the management have finally segregated the smokers tables from the non smokers and are to be congratulated for their effort.

During our stay we changed rooms three times due to damp and musty smell that was attempted to be masked with plug in air fresheners.

The first room they checked us into smelled very strongly of damp and

The lifts have a 'certain smell' I'm not sure if it's the air freshener that's used or not???. .

Complimentary bottled water, a digital safe, television and minibar were present.

I left plenty of balls in the water so if anyone fancies a swim they’re yours.

We are a married couple, we were given a twin room(this room had a balcony with furniture, bath robes and free water.

No free water in room - when we have stayed in other 5 star hotels in hot countries they provide some bottles of water free with the room every day.

For evening meals there are hotel associated restaurant choices and non hotel restaurant choices so you don't get the 'resort only' feeling, just a short walk away including a supermarket/bars/ice cream to get water and daytime snacks.

If you decide to walk make sure you're fit enough and take plenty of water.

Breakfast was ok, hot buffet was tepid at best by 9am so better to choose fresh cooked eggs which were very nice.

though it was taken off the bil)

Great venue, watched some World Cup games, very few guests there.

We stayed in Los lomas apartments split 6 & 4
Rooms were fine all ensuite plenty of hot water, good kitchen balcony and tv with free sky sports.

Every morning at breakfast they ran out of large plates, the bar had no ice-cream for 2 days and there was one member of staff attempting to serve drinks to a packed poolside which often resulted in a wait of 10 minutes to buy a bottle of water.

The nearby beaches in La manga are nice with their white sand and clear waters.

The milk and water in the fridge on arrival was a nice touch!

Alonso the receptionist recommended some nearby restaurants for us to eat in and the waiter in the pool bar area made us delicious cocktails !

The first week the food was extremely good, especially Breakfast, which is probably the best I have had for a long time when away.

We were half board, breakfast lovely and filling so no need for lunch and then lovely selection of foods for dinner .

The staff were excellent, the food was an extensive buffet which catered for all tastes, and the evening entertainment was extremely good.

The cooked food on the Buffet was at best warm unless the Chef cooked a one off for you.

Breakfast was lovely with all pastries, fruit juices, cereals and cooked options.

The hotel offerred breakfast, half board and full board.

Whilst the chefs do their best with the buffet food on offer, the waiting staff, while always very pleasant and friendly do not know the meaning of the word 'quietly ' when clearing the tables and handling plates and cutlery at their drops.

We stayed for one week 11th- 18th sept 2017 for my sons wedding, on half board basis, the food , breakfast, lunch and or dinner was fresh, plentiful, constantly replenished and varied, there was always something for even the pickiest of people, pool bar staff especially Trini were really nice.

Back to the Galua - very helpful staff (the reception manager had a kettle delivered to me within 30 mins of arrival, & the chef arranged for nuts to be given to me at breakfast - amazing service!).

The restaurant was buffet style and offered a range of hot and cold food options with a chef cooking meats and fish options for lunch and dinner.

Food in the hotel is plentiful, well prepared and tasty.

This time we stayed bed breakfast and evening meal.

A chef was always available to cook omelettes.

Breakfast and evening meals were included in our package, and were Buffet style.

We booked half board,  usually going all inclusive, I wasn't sure how that would work (we do like to eat regularly haha) well I can honestly say that the breakfast selection and quality was the best ever!

The half-board rate was good value with breakfast and dinner buffets being exceptionally well presented, with lots of choice in an un-hurried environment and friendly helpful staff.

The restaurant was good for breakfast and ok for dinner, we had dinner twice and as there was a lack of any restaurants in the area we were thankful to have the hotel.

just need to hire a car as taxi expensive and much around the area.

We didn't have a hire car so used public transport to venture out to Cabo de Palos in one direction and various stops along the LM strip.

We had a car which is probably necessary as the bus service was quite limited.

The only drawback is that you need to have a car to reach this hotel.

but not for the better, we had booked a twin room, we were put in a tiny room with a sma lead window  overlooking the car park.

Buzzed for entry to car park, were told down intercom that it was full - the women then hung up without bothering to suggest an alternative.

Not much to do out and about, really need a car to explore the area.

This is not the place for you if you like lively holidays and would certainly recommend a car if you like to get around,

We would advise people to rent a car as getting to La Manga might be a bit complicated by public transport.

but if you are staying for a longer period of time you probably do need a car to get out and about.

The only downside, (if you can call it that) is that there is not much around in way of entertainment, you will definitely benefit from car hire, as you need to travel a bit to reach shops, restaurants etc.

but it also meant we had to use the car far more than we wanted to as we did a fair amount of miles to get to somewhere interesting.

some bad things: you need to pay 8 euro a day to park your car, we didn't had a coffee maker in the room and the adult entertainment is lacking

We were on 3rd floor room 340.  was not the best of view overlooking rear car park and side sea view

Needless to say.. we didn't use it, and the car park was empty apart from 3 cars.

Ive yet to come across a car hire company that allows you to take it almost empty fill what you need and leave it back the way you got it.Its a complete rip off this take it full and leave back empty.

Just got home yesterday after a 5 day stay at these wonderful apartments,easy check in,wonderful friendly staff,cleaners everyday with clean bedding and towels did a wonderful job.breakfast was continental,cooked meats cereals cheese toast croissants,lovely jugs of fresh orange juice coffee and tea,room was very spacious even had a washing machine

Welcoming staff, free and fast wifi, free parking, tasty breakfast available from 8 - 11, beautiful and well-tended gardens with pool and sun-loungers.

although nice it was just bread cereal and spainish meats coffee and two juices

Would recommend staying here, good clean rooms, great pool, good breakfast.

Breakfast in this accommodation is €4 & well worth it.

We made our own breakfast after our first morning to save money and enjoyed eating it on our clean and sunny terrace.

The food in the restaurant was outstanding - we were on half board, and had expected some fairly basic buffet.

The pool was also in a delapadated state with lots of tiles broken on the steps to enter the pool, one of the men in our party cut his foot on the steps and clearly these were dangerous for the 4 year old.

The two outside balcony's were never used as they were covered in a filthy reddish dust and all most of the sun beds were broken.

The property was not ready when we arrived and had been damaged by previous tenants (kitchen doors hanging off hinges, unusable kitchen pans so dirty and damaged you  would not want to cook with them, broken taps etc,) This was combined with the awful smell of pee and the odour from the dampness which was seeping in the walls.

but this may be because there are management changes occuring apparently.There were broken street lights, holes in pavements and bins unemptied around the large oasis pool.

The Villa was advertised as having a garage, we found the main door to be locked and the inside door had a notice saying it cannot be used.

The kettle was broke(until I fixed it) the TV didn't work until I played around with the ariel/ socket and the washing machine door was broken and hanging off the hinges.

There is also several damp mildew patches in 2nd bedroom plus the shower door is covered in mildew.

Rain came in through the doors of the children's bedroom  so we had to lay out towels to mop it up.

The TV was extremely cheap and did not display the picture in the correct mode, what ever we tried didn't work
The Fridge had storage area missing, most of the beds were like Z beds, very uncomfortable
The floors were filthy
The furniture was dirty
The kitchen crockery did not match, there was not enough plastic glasses to use by the pool.

The down side was the sewage smell which was almost constant on most days and the horrid amount of flies.

The smell in the house became intolerable so much so that on our last day after heavy  rainfall the was the stench from raw sewage.

but the smell of sewage at times was overwhelming.

The bedrooms are downstairs and appear to be dug out of the wall behind and we had a terrible smell of damp, worringly there was a dehumidifier there also, and peculiar given it is so hot.

We have just returned from Neilson Mar Menor Beachclub where they offered towelling robes, slippers, breakfast in bed,

Beautiful accommodation, delicious food and genuinely friendly staff.

The lunch buffet had been kept open for us despite arriving at about 3.30 which was a great touch.

Shout out to Jordan and Danny too for their help at breakfast.

This resort boasts a brand new hotel, masses of space and plentiful food, catering for all tastes and intolerances !

Food was amazing, plentiful and fresh, even the fussy member of our family found plenty to eat at every meal.

For example, If you go on a cooking course, you would expect to make a ragu sauce using all the ingredients rather than be given one to add to pasta.

Yes, there were mosquitos, so pack repellent/antihistamine and/or long-sleeved clothes,

but we still got multiple mozzie bites and the flies seemed totaly resistant to the spray.

I have to say we were rather apprehensive after reading the negative reviews about the beach, flies, mosquitos and smell.

The relentless mosquitos and flies stopped me doing fitness classes and we ate inside most nights.

Having said that, mosquitos did not seem as bad as other resorts.

Yip the flys are annoying, as are they at home during the summer, and mozzies bite, take loads of bug spray.

Not entirely due to the storm, there are a lot of flies and mozzies.

-  There are far too many flies and mosquitos.

There was no sun bathers on the beach, myself and a number of the mums felt it wasn't pleasant and it was baron to bathers, no atmosphere, a bit like scrub land, the flies and mosquitoes were awful.

The fitness platform had to be sprayed every day to keep the mosquitos away,

The midges and mozzies are a bit of an issue in the evenings and we got bitten badly on the evenings when we forgot our spray.

Also, the mosquitos are a real pain and affect the evening activities.

Due to the smell, rotting sea grass then as a result really no one sat on the beach on the sun loungers (once they were fitted) as the area was so unappealing.
