All staff members encountered during our stay were professional, friendly, and helpful and let's not forget the great staff next door at the Hilton Garden Inn either!

From the check-in, they were super friendly, and offered us diamond number compliments.

The room I stayed smells, the AC is too loud, the bedding does not fit.

The overpowering fragrance was so intense that it caused my eyes to water and triggered an immediate headache.

however, that, after we pointed out the issues and the fact that we were unsatisfied  with the room and were planning on moving, the front desk staff attempted to have a better room available. When we looked at it, the room had the same deficiencies (mold, unstacked kitchenette, etc.)

The room has a stale smell, The shower floor bubbles / lifts up and feels gritty.

-Sink: smells of bacteria build up whenever you run water.

The room smelled badly—like old cigarette smoke or mold.

Our room floor had something sticky in the tile and the stairways were filthy.

Hotel clerk doesn’t wear mask properly.

All in all, it was ok.

Some of the halls on our floor we very much under construction, and you had to watch where you walk anywhere you're at in the hotel due to construction debris.

To make up for this inconvenience, I was given a room adjacent to the exit where seemingly the entire hotel staff step out to smoke, at all hours of the day and night, along with other guests.

When a person is already showering, a clogged drain cannot be corrected anymore - just deal with it.

There’s a saying as it relates to companies with poor leadership, that, “The fish stinks from the head down.” Not this fish!!!

However there is a pervasive smell in the entryway and throughout the hallways/rooms (actually, 3 different strange smells, I'd say) that were very hard to stomach.

Trust me, I can tell the difference between real and "chemical" eggs and these were the real deal.

The hotel staff was well aware of the unsuitability of the room, as both the front desk personnel and the cleaning staff acknowledged the issue.

Good food and drinks over there folks if you don't want to travel out too far for dinner.

This hotel has new owners, and they have cut every possible expense to maximize their short term profit.

even though our room was facing the freeway the traffic was easily disguised with a pair of earplugs.

Things got quiet for a bit, then I called front desk, was rudely hung up on.

Our room faced the highway and we didnt hear any noise at all like what the others had mentioned (which was my earlier concern).

And when I reported that the bedroom was noisy, he offered me some earplugs.

The noise never ends, after 1:00AM it does lighten up a bit,

Ac was so loud it woke me up at night, and overall room was pretty small.

The hotel seemed quite new, and, luckily, our room was not facing Pacific Highway, which would have been noisy.

Soundproofing is poor, so expect to hear plenty of noise overhead.

All morning you can hear people going to the eating room, making noise as they get their food, and talking.

Our rooms were off the pool, so there was some noise in the evening,

I was up all night worried about the flight, getting my relative on the plane so we would get home safely and decided to go ask the 3rd shift rep to make sure we were on the shuttle HANDICAP for 5:00.

I understand not everyone likes to be awake at 4:50 am

My problem is it was over 160.00 for not much of anything and it’s right on the highway so the road noise kept me up a bit.

Do not stay here if you ever want peace and quiet.

Kudos to the GM for hiring the right people.

The airport shuttle was a major bonus and the entire staff was most helpful in making my short trip very convenient and comfortable.

They really work so hard from the front desk- to shuttle drivers- to the housekeeping and Dolores lady at breakfast kept everything stocked for breakfast was really good!!

Upon arriving in our room we opened the door to find debris on the entryway floor, a rubber band and stick at the end of the bed on the carpet, a bug in the refrigerator, the microwave had food splattered all over in it and the smell was so bad my 9-year-old immediately closed it.

Very old carpet that could definitely use a shampoo at minimum.

but dated with some updates (tv, wifi) but other dated items (sunbeds, sofa, carpet).

The suite was not very clean: the carpet in the suite is old, has stains due to the sand, etc.

5) Carpet turned our feet black immediately after taking a shower or wiping our feet clean.

More like a 2 star Motel with old carpet, coffee makers that don’t work, slow delivery service, and no AC in the bedrooms of their “suites.” 

The good: great location to walk to the beach and go on rides if that’s your thing.

Overall the property is old, very tired, could definitely do with some paint, new carpet, and updating.

We were never offered another room due to the filthy carpet.

though we take shoes off on carpets the sand just manages to get everywhere.

We are in a tower obviously and the carpet in the hallway is stained and smells.

Therefore, the carpet was accumulating all the moist from the water which explain the mold disgusting smell inside on the whole place.

The restaurant staff basically rolled out the red carpet for my friends and I. Although it was chilly outside, we sat on the patio, around a gas fire pit and near the fireplace, so we couldn't even feel the San Diego "cold."

The room was dated and the carpet worn and needed replacing.

I have two small children, so the door had to stay closed the entire weekend.

Namely, the sliding glass doors are old and don't slide well or block out sounds and the A/C units constantly drip from one floor to the next.

but definitely the noisy side of the property with a very busy public beach access road right out your patio door.

It appears to be the original sliding door from when the building was built.

There was a water damage mark (large) on the ceiling of my room and the sliding glass door to the balcony was so hard to open.

We had two rooms - one was very musty and we had to leave the slider and front door open to air it out.

Our bathroom door had some additional artwork in green crayon (made me smile tho.

On our last night there we were awakened at 1 am with knocking on our door ..

But once I opened the balcony doors my excitement level went down unfortunately.

We got lost and had a hard time locating the building we were in, he took the golfcart to locate my family and drove us directly to our door.

The patio door was covered with handprints, so it had not been cleaned.

My only complaints are the walls are too thin so you hear your neighbors slamming the doors, as there is no way for them to close gently.

Our first night the room next door had left their barking dog alone for 3 hours and when we advised the front desk, they handled and gave us a resort fee refund.

and then have someone come by and leave a couple of bottles of water at my door, a little bag of some signature snack? something.

but when we opened the doors the air conditioners were not working and both needed to be replaced.

but there were events at the beach most of the nights.. we were in building 600 which is not that close to the beach but we can hear the music from the events crystal clear as though the event was next door.

Small dark, on the ground floor with the doors opening onto the road directly opposite the reception.

We had ants in the bathroom every morning; the toilet paper holder came apart and we were unable to reassemble it without tools; blackout curtain over the patio door had holes, patio door was unlocked when we checked in; patio door was difficult to latch as the latch was bent and only had one very old lounge chair; the coffee pot did not work; and the safe did not lock after repeated attempts.

The door definitely needs to be replaced.

I've been to the Bahia many times - heading there again in March and wanted to give a 5 star review to the staff who helped me make plans for our family trip - Sam and Diante were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

He greeted my husband and I at the front desk with a friendly smile, told us what type of room to book and even guided me as to what to ask for over the phone while I spoke with reservations.

Due to the severe weather conditions of hurricane Hilary, I had to leave a day early for the safety of my 5 & 11 year old daughters.

The rooms are very tired, outdated, and dirty.

The rooms need updating and better lighting.

The room felt dirty and outdated, insulation was terrible, we could hear the people above us constantly running around so sleep wasn’t an option.

They do have a clock radio next to the bed that has ports to charge your cell phone so that was a nice update to the room.

While some of the furniture & flooring could use some updating, the rooms, bathroom, and common areas were clean.

but probably hadn’t been updated since 1975.

The room was on the bottom floor ( which is what I requested .. traveling with small dog) of four story building … the website said recently renovated

Our accommodation was a bay view deluxe suite, it was really in need of updating, the kitchenette was in poor condition, the oven  was not good, and the microwave didn’t work.

The facilities are quite outdated, and the resort is very overpriced for what you get.

It was difficult to get updates on where it was out and how to get it back.

While our room was recently remodeled,the rest of the resort is still 1953.The pool is a typical rectangle from that era.No slides,waterfalls,or swim up bar.It was filled with screaming kids and no lounge chairs available.They had a makeshift snack bar with very limited items and a guy flipping $17 burgers on a Weber grill.

Once we got to the room, the room smelled musty and moldy.

It was a cross between dog pee and mildew.

(and since the AC didn't really work everything in the room got sort of damp--I noticed this when we got home and I was unpacking our suitcase--everything was just a little damp! San Diego was particularly warm and humid during our stay,

We initially had a garden room, and when we arrived it was a very dated, dark, damp room with an unpleasant aroma.

The resort in it self is very old, run down where our toilet seat was broken, the room smelled like mildew which gave us all headaches, bathroom sink was very shallow and every time you washed your hands there was water everywhere.

I used bleach on the bathtub and got the grime marks off of there.

Our room had an odor that didn't seem to go away, again upgrades are needed.

The only downside to the room was that our bathroom sink didn’t drain unless you held it open, other than that the room was perfect!

We had a bit of a hiccup with rooms - the first one smelled very musty and the pull out bed/cots were not comfortable for our kids so we wound up getting air mattresses for them -

Instead she gave my husband a very nasty attitude in return.

but reminisce about the feeling I got as a kid, smelling bacon, or any another cuisine being prepared, wafting from the kitchen.

The sink smelled like sulfur so bad that we had to brush our teeth with bottled water.

Room was very warm and musty upon our arrival .. a/c did not cool room sufficiently.. asked front desk if they have fans for air circulation.. they do not!

Also, the people staying below us brought 2 bbqs and were cooking up a storm under us so all we smelled was their food for hours.

My wife got a robe from the wardrobe, that had been hung and tied the same as the other one, it had 7 brown stains all over the front of it, disgusting!

The room was smelly there and the grounds were dark and musky feeling.

The ‘fitness center’ seemed to be a converted storage room-most home gyms have better equipment.Our room was in the back of the resort and instead of walking through lush tropical paths, we had to walk through a cigarette

but he was extremely polite and courteous to me.

Front desk agents were among the most friendly and helpful we've ever experienced.

PROs - nicely landscaped around the grounds, clean pool with adequate seating poolside, very friendly and helpful staff, located close to sites and Old Town, very nice breakfast, comfortable beds and reasonably clean rooms, reasonably priced.

The staff were particular helpful and friendly and really make this place a pleasure to be there.

We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who made us feel welcome and comfortable.
