But when we tried, we were notified by the mixologist that if we drank our own champagne by the pool he would have to charge us a fee.

however in room dining and wine card could be better.

although we were informed it was included, the charge of about £70 per day was added to our bill.

We then had to handover our passports, car keys, credit card - which felt a bit like being taken into police custody - and may say something about the nature of guests' behaviour in and around St Tropez?!

but upon check out we were charged 78 euro.

The extra bottle of drinking water is charged too.

The women at the reception are exceptional and extremely friendly and the concierge can get it done!

however the staff were all very friendly and helpful when available.

Manon at reception was very personable, friendly and polite.

Maxime and Yannick at the concierge are always smiling, friendly, and ready to answer any question.

Almost more impressive is the service here - every single person is friendly, incredibly helpful, kind, and accommodating.

Some examples of why this wasn't 5 star for us: I’m disappointed that we were never informed of the complimentary breakfast at check-in, we would have loved that and felt very cheated by missing out on it while paying the high rate we did.

With the high price they charged, we would expect a more spacious room.

and believe me, i´m used to pay high prices for Hotels since years all over the world.

After we waited for what seemed like forever, they told us they found a room for us for the first 2 nights at a much higher price,

the room rates  and the service given are not compatible at all !

Room Service food is heated up pasta which is really a joke for this price category of Rooms!

but incredibly expensive hotel and a little pretentious.

The general lighting system will be a more difficult and expensive fix.

We did not eat at the hotel - it was expensive and the restaurant, inside, was not that appealing.

Prices were not as astronomical as one might think.

The only negative point I'd make is the over-inflated cost of drinks and breakfast.

The only minor quip is the prices for food & drink by the pool and bar are a little high-

The only - point are te price of the cocktails.

Just make sure you understand the room rates.

so i think, i´ve to look maybe for another hotel around saint tropez during the euofestival 2016, which i will definitivly join, because even in saint-tropez i´ll get more for the same price.

I strongly recommend go for more expensive room - it is much much better, hard to explain, just believe me.

Upon our arrival to Hotel de Paris, we were greeted by the friendly staff who made check in smooth & pleasant.

Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and always looking to help.

The service is always great, staff is professional and friendly, and extremely responsive.

The hotel staff are really friendly, and the roof terrace is amazing, great for a dip in the pool to cool down or for a sunset drink with great views of the sunset sky and even a little bit of the gulf of st tropez.

The staff are ultra friendly and professional, always there to hold a door or help out at the Conciergerie.

The staff including the ones cleaning the room etc so so friendly and manner full.

They have run over to a restaurant to change my reservation when they weren’t picking up the phone.

The rooftop pool is so small I would call it a hot tub.

Actually from front desk through door man we felt a bit of attitude, there are something about this hotel I’d call ‘meanness’… clearly represented by the concierge guy.

I advise them over the phone and they supply us with something to plug into an outlet that kills then off.

On my second night the room next door was very loud on the balcony at 3 am and I had to call the reception to warn them for a multiple times.

When I asked her why she didn’t call me to tell me of her newly decided change of mind, she said she decided to wait until checkout.

however it would have been nice to have a kettle and some coffee in the room so we could have had a quick brew without ringing for room service.

there was a shuttle service to the beach and you could call them to pick you up.

We asked one day to be put on a waiting list and called in our room once a shaded area became available and no one bothered to call.

My husband was trying to arrange a surprise present for me from Chanel, unfortunately you can't purchase over the phone and they only had one left in the whole of Europe.

I made a phone call down to the concierge and requested a dinner reservation.

Sure enough the internet did not work and I had to go down to the lobby to answer some emails and a skpe call that I needed to make.

but on the 14th of July I had arranged to be picked up from Nikki beach in the afternoon and the rude staff at Nikki beach said they tried calling the hotel to arrange for pick up and the hotel said they would not be able to due to traffic.

The room directories were incomplete and we had to keep calling Reception for basic information.

Avoid this hotel at all your cost (especially fellow Americans)!

I will never come back to this property, will advise anyone from staying there as I am sure for the price point you are paying there are much better options in the area.

It definitely did not live up to our expectations or reflect the price tag.

Only drawback was the room which was very small - especially given the expensive rates we were paying in peak season.

And overall, things were unjustly expensive: I realise this is St. Tropez and is riddled with the super rich,

I know there are more expensive and more luxurious hotels in St Tropez.

I highly suggest no one stays here unless they like motel service at 5 star prices.

but the basic room is far too expensive (700euros) to be a 20m squared room with limited storage options.

Breakfast is not included and expensive (35 euro/person).

Bar was understated if not a little expensive and cant comment on food as I ate out.

but the price is not justified in my opinion

At a cost of 200 euros, I found it completely unacceptable.

On another occasion, Nicolas the hotel manager, personally walked a guest into the village to make sure they found the obscure photo location they were looking for, and personally paid for their items, as they did not have the proper currency on them at the time.

The hotel offers parking that considered the location is not very expensive.

but this didn't not compensate for the experience we had or overall cost of the stay.

Parking fees are €35,00 per night, which can get expensive if staying longer than a few days.

This room was looking out to small alley/street.

When I got to my room it was very very small.

The room assigned to us was this tiny room with the only window looking over the next door bldg which is few meters away (making the room very dark)  So we asked if they can move us to better situated room in the same room category for the next 2 nights.

The only real problem is how small the rooms are.

The only thing we thought that was negative was the  rooms are on the small side.

but small with no real wow factor and small rooms.

our room was a bit small, and for more than $1000 per night, I would expect quality similar to PLAZA ATHENE OR 4 SEASONS GEORGE V in paris!

We were shown a tiny room (classic - $900US) with views of a cement wall and noise from the busy main street below.

but the rooms are so small and weren't significant at all.

Concierge bookings and private transport  to the beach clubs was a real bonus, and the Hotel de Paris Saint Tropez beach bag!

you stay here to be in a great in-town location and have a concierge team that makes things happens.

Always warm, welcoming and never utter the words of “Not possible”.

The shuttle service is managed by the concierge team.

but the staff and service at the hotel is great!

The head concierge, Monsieur Samuel, is one of the best concierges I ever met.

In addition to the ultra prime location and incredibly polite service, the concierge team went above and beyond to make our experience absolutely unforgettable.

He’s also the best and most knowledgeable I’ve ever had.

The concierge team was top notch and helped us plan the most incredible experience in town and our trip to Provence.

But the very best part of this hotel - the soul of the place that puts all of the best aspects of St Tropez at your feet - is Samuel and his concierge team.

The only negative we experienced was the cost of sun loungers at the beach and parking in the public car park nearby.

Wi-Fi is awful and you have to pay 30 euros a week after paying nearly £4000 for the lodge very cheeky - the main downside just not enough going on if your children are 10 plus - maybe it would work with a large group-I feel it just make as much monies as possible 
All the customers I spoke with felt the same and spent their days trying to entertain their kids at the beach - port grimaud has.

but for the price you pay and for a site wanting 5 starts, this is not good enough.

although it was maybe a little on the pricey side.

but had we paid extra we would have been furious.

Expensive for what you get and you have to clean your own facilities when leaving or they keep your 100 euros deposit.

The sunbeds  were disgusting full of stains on the covers which incidentally you have to pay for and around the pool was very slippery.

You have to pay for the loungers and we can understand how this might be an annoyance for some people,

The food at the restaurant could have been better, considering the prices,

The campsite shop wasn't particularly well stocked, and again was expensive, we bought the basics for breakfast the first morning and after this went to the Géant along the road.

The staff didnt quite know how to explain the differences, besides the price,

The bar (we hardly used it) was very expensive.

The only negative comment I have is that our pitch was placed near the road and therefore, VERy noisy: noise of cars, noise of people talking loudly in the early hours of the morning and late of night.

English beware you are in France so you may hear yourself thinking are you gonna give me a flake with that pint !

The mobiles are very close together meaning you can hear those noisy neighbors who play music until late into the evening and probably hear my kids screaming so bear this in mind.

One night a family ordered some pizzas and had to wait 2 hours for them to arrive, after complaining he was confronted by the owner and his son, who absolutely went absolutely berserk and this gentleman who was just stating his point without shouting.

We were never disturbed by noise from the bar or other residents.

This was noisy and as we were near the blocked drain it was also not a pleasant odour!!!!

One night we were kept awake until 3am by neighbours playing loud music and I mean LOUD.

but horrendous display by the management when leaving.

The venue was in the process of updating a number of features such as internet which was not free and very poor and new lodging units which created a lot of noise and traffic.

Because you had to leave your pitch at 10 in the morning everyday woken by people leaving.

the caravan is positioned right next to the dumping ground for the garden centre next door and every morning we were woken up by noisy vehicles and staff dumping old shop fittings etc.

We went to marina holiday resort in June,at first everything seemed fine,two days in to the holiday and the noise started,first there was a building sit right outside the gates(nothing to do with the site)

The noise from the road is relentless it can also be very busy and took us 40 minutes to get to the supermarket which should only be 5 minutes.

Having the bins right on the main drag again was an issue with a constant delivery of rubbish from every caravan/ camper .

Noise from neighbour company, the street and from small wagons on site.

So loud in fact that I had difficulty hearing the bar man.

instead of "can I help you" as you would expect he was shouting as to where we thought we were "bl**dy going and "who the bl***dy hell are you" not the sort of response you would expect.

Also, no sound/heat insulation present and thus noise levels high, hot during the day, cold during the night.

From a lovely greeting at reception to the helpful guide to our plot.

VIP lodges are excellent and the staff are lovely.

Special mentions for Jack and Enzo, Faith and Alain and team as well as the lifeguards.

The staff are abusive and scarily racist.

Other members of the resort staff said he conducted himself terribly.
