Located on the beach this is a nice place with high quality rooms.

They help with the local community and keeping the beach clean.

We did walk on the beach (no swimming or surfing for us) and didn't take anything at all with us on the hotel's advice.

Only Oasis in Cape Coast came close in the number of tourists and even that had a much nicer atmosphere.

As if it's not bad enough you're constantly watching your stuff on the beach, the staff are at it as well.

There isn’t a lot to offer during the day so I mostly sat on the beach reading, getting to know people and the culture.

It's right on the beach and has a surf school on the premises where you can rent boards and get lessons.

We day tripped from Accra to this unique Beach Oasis.

Apart from fabulous beaches and sea, we spent ages watching the fishermen bring in their boats with the help of men and boys on the beach hauling on ropes.

Stay somewhere better and travel to the beach yourself.

In case you are in trouble or hunted by some beach boys, the crew will come to the rescue.

The cleanliness of the beach varies when I was there it was clean enough for me to feel comfortable swimming

The rooms were comfortable and the beach here is pleasant and pretty clean.

The Beach is just by the hotel, a lovely place.

The guests are a good mix from all over the world making it very continental.

Food cheap & really delicious and non alcoholic drinks.

The beer is plentiful, ice cold and the food is excellent.

We ate breakfast and supper at the excellent restaurant overlooking the beach and fishermen and enjoyed drinks and good company at the bar which was always buzzing with an eclectic mix of ages, nationalities, residents, locals and visitors.

but if you walk to the shack 500m down the beach you get the same food for 1.5 Cedi, and it's authentic and delicious (in very basic surroundings).

Big Millys has a very nice relaxed Vibe and very nice food, excellent breakfast at reasonable prices.

.goood fresh food especially the breakfast and dinner at a reasonable affordable price.

Breakfast on the beach is always my favorite and Big Milly's did not disappoint!

Breakfasts are ordered as you arrive to eat.

The staff are incredible friendly, the food is delicious and plentiful, there is great entertainment on the weekend by outstanding dancers/singers where everyone gets involved.

It's right on the beach, has great nights of entertainment, delicious and cheap food.

Order the banana muffins for breakfast - unbelievably good!

The food is great (esp, banana pancakes).

I would highly recommend Big Milly's for a fun weekend full of time at the beach, delicious food (some of the best I've eaten in Ghana),and great live entertainment. Def.

but the breakfasts in the restaurant which is right on the beach is very reasonable, generous and delicious.

I would personally get breakfast there and possibly dinner or lunch elsewhere.

The restaurant has a good menu and a service minded crew.

Being coming to Big Millys Backyard since 2006 and the experience keeps on getting better and Better, thumbs up to Wendy and the crew for their cool innovations.

The only draw back we found was the toilets had no doors just a curtain.

but there was only a small curtain as a bathroom door.

The room we had also didn't have a door on the bathroom, just a curtain, so you had no privacy really from the noises one makes when nature calls (*cough cough),

The morning after we checked in we had someone knocking at our door at 6.20!!!

The room was clean, AC the only thing was that there was no door on the bathroom so we had to evacuate at certain times :)  having said that we later discoverd communal toilets outside and they were spotless!

It is possible to leave the door to your room open for light,

Although we were given a key for the front door the "en-suite" was external without a roof and just a screen door, not at all safe.

but to travel all this way for a dodgy beach wasn't good.

***  Anyway, BM's is right on the beach-but be VERY wary of the shady dudes,

People swam (watch out for the rip tide - can be very dangerous) and surfed while I lay on a beach chair and read my book.

but at the same time dangerous as you're not sure what you have spent and you put your trust in them to tally up your total, but when I paid it all seemed fine to me considering my total was for stay, food, drink and transport.

The beach in front of the hotel is just the WORSE one in the neighborhood.

The area is unsafe and the police and locals do nothing about crime and safety.

and unsafe: the beach is also full of annoying people try to sell you items (some of them try also to menace me if i don't buy something!).

We were advised of the unsafe beach so we were carefull so didnt have any issues nor heard of anyone who has.

Unfortunately, and I really hate to say it, the major downside to Big Milly's is the unsafe beach.

Ignore anything on sites saying it's not safe - a bit of common sense and you can still enjoy walking on the beach on your own at night - didn't feel unsafe at all  - there are fishing boats and people prepping them and repairing etc.

You also can take NOTHING on the beach, or you'll be robbed, and at night it's very dangerous, period. The rooms are in small huts, a few with bathrooms/cold showers, others with nothing, so do NOT expect anytyhing resembling a "hotel."

though it did get a bit cold at night, especially for the person on the floor with no blanket or sheets.

After staying in some fairly rough places in Ghana, Big Millies was a welcome chance from dirty sheets and poor customer service.

The rooms are a decent size and are nicely decorated, with air conditioning, the only thing I didn't like is that they didn't provide any cover, such as a sheet to cover yourself with,

The room (and we had one of the most expensive ones) was TINY, the mosquito net had so many holes I stopped counting, the mattress was really really BAD, no sheets provided, fan not working for half the time and the bathroom was dirty when we checked in and

I had the misfortune to try a few : in overall the rooms are small, dirty (the mattresses haven't been changed for a while and they are just DISGUSTING+ no sheets provided - you should bring your own if you care), the ACs do not work, neither the fans, it smells urine/mould, there is barely running water in the so called "bathrooms".

And the not-so-comfortable bed wasn't even made when we arrived--they dropped off 2 tie-dyed top sheets 20 minutes after we arrived.

- The room does not come with a top sheet, only a bottom sheet.

However, there were no over sheets on the beds in our rooms, just a fitted bed sheet on the mattress.

but we did get to see the drum performance and absolutely loved it.

If you like organised drum shows like at a resort, big Millys is for you.

Our room was right by the main stage, enough to shake the room with vibrations.

Plus it’s a good excuse to have a dance.

The least they could’ve done was tell us our room was right next to the stage.

There is always some entertainment going on .

A very special moment was watching a group of exceptionally talented youngsters rehearsing their drumming and dancing just up the road from BM.

Accommodation was really comfortable and the Friday night entertainment was excellent with the drummers, dancers and acrobats.

but newcomers will enjoy the live drumming and dancing and the party afterwards.

The Friday and Saturday evening events are great and it's fun dancing on the beach.

The weekend has live entertainment which creates a great atmosphere.

Live entertainment and have a nice beer by the beach.

Mr Bright is a great surf teacher and Okoe and Adie are awesome at drumming and dance lessons.

Friday and Saturday are the busy days with more people coming for the entertainment at night with is fun.

Great Staff, cool entertainment African style music and loads of dancing, huff booze and merriment, good food, cool and secure and great locals - real taste of Africa

We enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners at the sea shore and liked the solitude.

They also had several delicious vegetarian options that our vegetarian guests could choose from.

Best breakfast of any smaller beach resort.

Great home cooking for dinner and a tasty breakfast was there the following day.

but not least the food was absolutely delicious.

The owner was very accommodating with our food preferences (as you can imagine, in a group of 9, we had rather diverse tastes), and both our breakfast and lunch were absolutely scrumptious.

Delicious sea-food and breakfast was a feast!

but it was great and really personal and actually he had just about anything you'd want and again, it was delicious.

My breakfast was delivered promptly every morning and placed in front of me on my private porch.

The staff never hesitates to accommodate my dietary needs and make a delicious meal.

The food was delicious and always fresh, the area is so spacious and the beach is one of the cleanest I've ever been to on the Ghana coast.

but the big to order breakfast was free and excellent!

During our stay, the staff prepared a customized breakfast, lunch, and dinner for us and each meal was amazing.

Chef Edward makes absolutely delicious dishes at every meal using fresh ingredients and lots of love.

breakfast is amazing and the "pot of real coffee" brewing from 6AM onwards for everybody to have is just one of the touches which makes you feel welcome and "at home".

but your custom breakfast is included and the level of service makes it feel worth the extra money.

After a conversation with the person responsible on site & the manager by phone,  we got placed in another block which had better rooms in a better location & cost less in total than the original!

The driver never showed up so the manager kindly drove us to town to pick up a taxi.

The manager said he didn’t think he wouldn’t get the money,

however I think they could have done better considering the price.

so i might say that price per rooms are extremely overpriced ( during the stay 1 night(140usd) ).

The prices are really not expensive for what you get.

As we paid for luxury and this is what it was sold to us as, I have to inform you that this place 
- The beach is gross.

however the price here was a little more than expected which we told the owner.

I arrived by taxi and knew about the entry fee for the event,

The rate at usd160 a night was a bit high

Personally I prefer High Service/Higher Cost over Low Cost/Low Service.

It's more expensive than some of the other places on the beach,

but it’s the small irritating things, the lack of proper hospitality knowledge & training leading to staff getting defensive even when they are not in the right & not doing a great job that leaves a bad taste.

Even as I write, I whistle for joy with such admiration for the experience you gave my family and group of friends who visited your place.

He is 60% of the reason why we hated our experience.

Words shall never sufficiently describe my experience at Sankofa Beach House this past fall season in Oct/Nov 2014.

Hospitality is a field and an artform that seems to not be mastered by the current manager.

An unique experience is guaranteed and expected each time I stay there; which I do at leAst 4 times a year.

All in all a very disappointing experience.

It was little more than a slow piddle and made showering a less than ideal experience.

Balcony on shady side is pleasant 24 hours per day.

When we arrived one of the doble rooms we booked was not available, so they upgraded us to a better room with a balcony with a great view.

A large big king bed and seating area and balcony equipped with good a/c, TV, fridge and most importantly clean with good towels and bedclothes.

but get onee of the rooms with balcony and a view.

The view at night from my balcony was breathtaking.

although the water pressure was quite low.

There was no waste basket in the room or bathroom.

My meals are always cooked and served hot; they include daily breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Had a good food to eat, breakfast was on point.

Breakfast was good and dinner was nice as well,

Free breakfast is basic fresh juice coffee or tea,  omlette, boiled egg or fried egg served with toast.

but when it arrived it was toast, eggs and 3 sausages.

The free continental breakfast was a great way to start each day.

The breakfast is served in rooms and most of all the staff is very Kind and lovely.

I would definitely recommend it if your looking for a nice quiet and relaxing stay at the beach where you can read a book by the pool in peace and eat some delicious food!

Lovely venue which served some of the most delicious Italian pizza, pasta and bruschetta

Having heard of The Garden through friends and relatives, I was curious to find out what place could be described by different people as "heaven on earth", be it the delicious might I say orgasmic italian dishes done perfectly, or the spacious, very comfortable rooms, or perhaps the friendly staff members whom treat you with nothing

All the food (lasagna, eggplant pasta, giant salad, French toast with chocolate sauce, couscous) was delicious.

The ice tea is delicious too and very refreshing.

The food was delicious and portions are big!

Breakfast with real espresso is incredible.

and the Pizza-- YUMMY yummy yummy
If that doesnt get your attention-- try some Italian coffee in the morning.

Anyway, no wifi materialised and I used my own phone and credit.

When we checked out we found out they had charged us for the next night as well!!!!

although we were advised by the staff that it can be dangerous at night - 2 girls staying at the hotel got mugged on our last night at a bar up the road.

What a poor choice, based on a scary bad temper.

but I felt unsafe and got a lot of unwanted attention from men on the beach which left me very uncomfortable so I would say if you are coming here don't even bother leaving the compound and just relax and eat and relax within the lovely garden!

The pillows were lumpy bits of foam and the sheet hardly fitted the bed so half way through the night I found I was sleeping on a hot nylon mattress.

We woke up early, because they did not yet put up curtains, and there was no hand soap in the washroom.

The room was way too hot to sleep in without even a simple fan and we felt we were just not looked after at all.

There was no availability the night we wanted to stay and had to stay elsewhere, and we were so sorry to be sleeping elsewhere.

Why they do not have a modem is beyond me.

Anyway, the room we were in felt claustrophobic due to the heavy decor and not great ventilation.

they dont provide your with soap in the bathroom.

Lest we forget - their breakfast was super - simply amazinggg

With room rates of about USD50.00 per night we had complimentary breakfast and the use of their clean swimming pool.

Breakfast was our favourite - hmmm not to talk about th e fruit drink.

We also looked forward to our breakfast, lunch and supper.

The hotel  itself has luxurious facilities yet the room rates are very moderate and affordable (even with this low rate, my partner and i were served breakfast every morning).

We were comfortable, the breakfast served was on point, the staff were courteous and they tried their best in meeting every of our needs.

Well this was my first trip to Ghana ,i had done research online an came across this hotel on a website i trusted (hotels.com)..They seem to offer everything i wanted a Gym,Pool,wifi,Games room,Saloon an even breakfast was included in the price!

Breakfast was served in your room each morning, and had plenty of both coffee, tea and water.

I was told their rooms are air-condiotoned, wifi available, etc.

but this Is the worst I have ever been, first on  their website they wrote "wifi 24/7," no sign of wifi even when I spoke with the manager she said I will get back to u,she never did, the cook (as they call her)is also the waitress who rings the door bell without coutesy,forgetting it's just a room not a mansion, i wont bother complaining about d loud music, some local kids playing in the pool and spitting on it or is it the housekeeping!

I enjoyed internet connection throughout our stay however at some point, there was limited connectivity inside our room

The room offered almost no connection with nature.

wifi isnt in rooms its a moderm the manager has an u can borrow for 10 ghana cedis for half an hour !

De Holiday Beach Hotel

If someone needs a place to hide from all pressures, then choose right!

Therefore from time to time the water in the village get finished and they would have to order for a new tank

We stayed in one of the Ashanti houses, there were serious problems in the bathroom, the toilet was nearly flooding with excrements several times, the first time one of the employees solved the problem, the second time my boyfriend had to solve the problem himself.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food tasty and Barbara's coffee just delicious.

Usually I stay at Nzulezu house, it is very special house, I enjoy sitting at bar place and talking or playing cards, I like breakfasts of fruit and pancakes, fresh orange or pineapple juice, very good dinners, coctails at the bar.

The food was well prepared ,delicious and good value for the price we paid, just not all of the menu was available.

Barbara and all of employees offered us total comfort and delicious food and drink.

I especially enjoyed my two new year celebrations in BV with all that great food at the dinner buffet and with the sounds of a reggae band playing in the background and bringing us into the new year.

The food was excellent, traditional … red red, fu fu, different fishes, delicious breakfasts (fruit plate … mango, papaya, pineaplle, small banana), pancakes, home made jam, coffee, juice …etc.

One morning there was no water, the only solution they gave us was to fetch a bucket and fill it with rainwater ourselves, cause luckily it rained during the night.

At the evening we were talking in »the bar«, sometimes at petroleum lamp and drinking juice, coctails, water, beer.

Talking about the food ,from breakfast to dinner is perfect ,the chief is always on point and on time with any any order we requested for.we enjoy the food.

The breakfast was great and was conveniently served in the room (what a great room service).
