The only drawback I have is the WIFI vouchers and constantly having to forget network to sign back in over multiple devices.

Arrived at 19:00 no electricity, 1 st question how can a guesthouse have four star rating without a generator in South Africa, went out for dinner got back electric gate did not want to open, the receptionist Lin was an angel she came out and tried to help, got the gate open and electricity came back on.

That there was no air conditioner in our room

All I would have liked more was an aircon.

The only negative was the smell on the towels - seems like they did not dry properly and thus smelt of humid laundry.

Would have liked it if the heater was switched on for us.

Aircons should be installed in the rooms, the fans are not to strong as Klerksdorp is generally very aircons.

Perfectly situated for our needs, reasonably clean (except for the linen which was dusty - I had to take an anti-histamine to prevent hay fever from the dust) and with electric blankets and a heater for the cold July winter nights.

Only concern: vehicle parking space a bit tight even for average sized vehicles.

We received a warm, friendly welcome, a cute, clean room, with everything you need, crisp white sheets and towels, comfortable beds, excellent service, delicious breakfast, great value for money.

We were greeted warm and friendly, the room are clean and the breakfast was absolutely amazing.

The room was clean and neat and we had a fantastic breakfast the following morning.

Beautiful garden, air conditioned room, clean room, access to the braai facilities and excellent service made our stay feel like a holiday.

Though the room was spotlessly clean, there was a knack to using the key to the outside door, which we mastered after a few days and some frustrating minutes stuck on the doorstep..

The rooms are neatly done I would maybe just suggest that every room can have a door to the outside with seating place, with us being used to space if feels almost like a old age home with one door to the outside world.

No microwave in the rooms and also a bit disturbing when other guest come and go during nighttime because of the one door that everybody have to use.

We knocked on HouseMartins' door on 24/11/2016 at midnight after a hectic, traumatic day at the hospital.

Evening meals seemed to have been cooked earlier (perhaps at noon) and reheated in the microwave.

Please when you know that guests are coming, put cold water in the fridge there is nothing worse than drinking out of the tap, and a little jug of milkin the fridge for coffee when a guest is in the room.

but otherwise OK, Would consider a kitchen wash basin in the room, to fill the kettle and clean the mugs after drinking coffee, the signal to the TV was not good, did not watch much, but when I did it loose signal.

We booked early on and got the key to our room for we only got there anout 01h00am when we got there we saw that there weren't water or anything in the fridge, they only gave us small towels that you can only use to dy your face.

The Bathroom is So old their shower had soap scum Stains.

I had the misfortune of getting a room where the shower selector tap thing was stuck and couldn't open, this meant that I couldn't shower before heading out for the day.

but the furniture looks terrible and the shower handle looked rusty and old and all the doors from the main door in room 103 to the shower, needs attention.

The mattress was sagging and the shower had mildew build up.

(BTW the shower must be in menopause since it was suffering from bouts of hot flashes).

The air conditioner in the room is very loud once switched on and the bathroom quite tiny, the shower head needs replacement.

- service is mediocre and the ironic part is that the bed n breakfast in the same town charged the same rates with brilliant service and amenities.

Bathroom has no shower only bathtub which looks old.

but I think it's time for some cosmetics?!

The Room only have shower and if one need Bath s/he must pay Extra Amount.

In the renovated room the toilet seat was broken, one section of the curtains was off the railing, the TV was not properly tuned, all the channels had snow like pictures, the room safe was not working, the electric door locks not working all the time, etc, etc.

Maintenance should look at the small things, like the shower cap, replace a broken one don't try and fix it.

The rooms smell, have no style, contain a washbasin in the room and the toilet and shower in a small "closet".

The shower spat water at us and took quite a while to heat up which in effect wastes water.

Bathroom light was not working (Room 223), and because of the location of the shower, it made for a shower in the dark.

The bathrooms facilities rather makes you think of a hostel (with limited privacy, especially when you stay with someone else in the room) and in fact the whole facility makes you think of a hostel rather than hotel.

It is clean, smells good, super friendly stuff, good meals.

Request an iron, and they will get one of their friendly staff to iron your clothes' in your room.

Even worse was only after it had been delivered by room service, did I realise that there was no cutlery or condiments and to top it all, the telephone in the room was not working to make a call to obtain some.

Firstly there was no menu in the room - having someone read it to you over the phone is extremely onerous, the food arrived in a burger take away container (plastic fork and knife included). Despite having a paid up voucher arranged by my employer, the waiter (?)

TV remote didn't work - had to call reception to sort this out.

The internet connection is extremely low and, when you get connected to the network assuming strange poses with your phone in the hand, getting through the system is impossible to the point that this place is not right for you if you are on a business trip and need to read emails.

However this particular hotel was disappointing, the room had no towels and after calling reception twice, only then did they eventually bring the towels.

I phone the restaurant to check how far are they with my order and the lady who answer my phone was so rude and she dropped my phone without telling me if i will get my meal .ir not.

The wifi didn’t work and neither did the room phone.

On trying to get a hold of reception, I found my room phone was not working.

I could hardly hear through the 20 year old phone,

It's always a pleasure to be here thanks to all the stuff that makes me feel at home.

It's my first choice, business or pleasure.

It's been a pleasure staying at the Protea Marriott Klerksdorp for the past few months.

They also had a function on with very loud music and noisy and drunk patrons making a racket until midnight.l

As usual my food was a mess.

The facilities are in need of a good deep maintenance: carpet dirty, windows not sealed, a/c unit not working fine.

The environment is noisy and close by there were parties with load music and decent sleep wasn’t possible.

A minor concern was the unbarred window overlooking the parking area which could possibly be noisy and a security risk.

They use old window mount aircon units that are very noisy and it is too under powered to cool the room.

The ancient rattling aircon made such a noise that I had difficulty to fall asleep.

The aircon was noisy, the TV had channels with sound,

The A/C system would generate a lot of noise

Rooms not sound proofed, can hear people passing outside the rooms clear.

The pool should not even be there, its so small - basically a jacuzzi with no jets.

Lastly it was incredibly noisy from 5.45am.

Although they do have a back-up generator, this did not function.

The noise on the passages were unbearable.

was noisy, ineffective and didn’t have any apparent controls.

I must make mention of the restaurant manager, what a good host he is.

From the car guard, to the porter, to the receptionist and the restaurant staff, the quality of service was of an impressive standard.

but only a single door (we couldn’t understand the logic), no maintenance at all, no amenities, but very pricy… Not much to mention about breakfast too… We had to stay just because of its location (close to a place that we had to visit).

Toilet seats on other room are too high, a person should seat lifting feet.

You wouldn't describe the bedroom as large and a single door swings through 180° to cover either the toilet or the shower which is a first of us.

That the toilet door to be separated from the shower door for hygiene purposes

but you still have a shoer and bath and toilet literally in your room.

Our on suite bathroom was seperated from the room with a curtain only and once you are behind this curtain there is only a 180 degree glass door that is used to close either the shower or the toilet seperately,

What I didn't like was the room, I wish the toilet was separate from the bedroom.

The design of the bathroom set-up is comically bad, providing no privacy in a double occupied room and no space to put anything such as needed toiletries.

Toilet is not sound proof as the bathroom is separated from the room by means of a curtain.

While I was impressed with room layout and cleanliness, I was greatly disappointed that the hotel offers no complimentary hand lotion!

Makes for a humid room after a shower and not much privacy.

Was a little confused by the toilet/shower door combination

Sadly, the vending machine downstairs was also broken.

Breakfast was excellent too, except for the weak coffee dispensed via a machine.

When my wife went to fetch  cuppachino's for us the machine did not work.

but tea and coffee were not available - we were told that the machine was still being cleaned, and that this would take a further 20 minutes.

The only thing I could fault was that the coffee was from a machine and not freshly brewed.
