but rooms were average, however, clean and have basic necessary utilities.

The hotel had clean, updated rooms, and public spaces.

It was spotless, staff was helpful,  food in restaurant delicious and reasonable.

Excellent front desk service, wonderful restaurant - both the service and the food, very clean, close to so many activities - in the shadow of Pongauer Dom, a short drive to Lichtensteinklamm, Hohenwerfen Fortress, and the promenade along the Salzach River.

Unexpected 75 euro (called as “mandatory fee”) was charged during check-out.

They have got two electric charged for electric cars

Their are many extra charges like for parking, Room cleaning, Breakfast.

RCI should direct Alpenland to include these charges up front before a person makes the booking.

The registration card must be filled out by hand.

But considering the cost vis-a-vis facilities, it is felt that the unit charges here are much higher than what you get elsewhere!

Out of repect to the customer who is already spending large amount of money, please do not charge for the two bottle of water in the room.

We asked the front desk for an electric boiler and received one without additional charge, which was wonderful--we are tea and coffee enthusiasts to say the least!

but had to pay for them; 75 Euro is a high charge for five nights of not using something.

They charge for 20 euros for wifi for first device and 10 for every other device, which is kind of silly.

Note if you leave something charging when you’re out of the room the maid will unplug it.

Housekeeping comes daily at no extra charge.

They charged extra for parking for RCI guests

If you don't know were to go by Salzburgerland card.

(Though they could finally install free wifi in the hotel complex!! Charging several euros for a few hours of internet is ridiculous in year 2015)

Be aware, they do charge for almost everything.

Incredible location, fabulous scenery,  excellent food.

The hotel is located close to the city center and a mall, which offers lots of shopping possibilities close by.

Very conveniently located next to a large shopping mall with restaurants , coffee shops at the door stop.

The hotel is in a great location for sights like the Liechtensteinklamm, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Berchtesgaden, the Grossglockner Pass, Hallein, salt mines and more.

We enjoyed the location and parking of this hotel.

The resort is lovely and conveniently located.

We enjoyed our stay and the property is well located to amazing attractions in St Johan and down the road is Kaprun and Zell Am.

Hospitality was good.Super view from room.The location was like in the center of Alps from where most of the tourist destination were approchable and easy on day trip.

The hotel is in a great location and handy for the local amenities.

The location of this resort is excellent, as you will have access to great hiking, good food, and historic sites.

Day trips are amazing from this location, and public transportation is everywhere you need to be.

We were given a beautiful apartment which had beautiful mountains to wake up to every morning and the location sadly ideal for travelling around the local scenic attractions and for getting to and from the airport at Salzburg.

The location in the city made the use of free bus transport easy.

WE SPENT A FAMILY VECATION AT THE HOTEL, A GREAT LOCATION FOR GOING ON TRIPS.

There are electric bikes you can hire too for 39 Euros, it's a shame you can't hire them for 2 days for a reduced price.

This was part of an RCI exchange, and we were aware this is a hotel , and that there would be extra fees involved.

Thought the breakfast buffet and restaurant prices in the hotel a bit overpriced compared to those food establishments in the area.

Breakfast is very expensive at the hotel.

The Alpenland hotel is not cheap if you pay the full price,

but we never partook due to the number of us traveling mainly due to the expense.

but you have to pay 44 euros to use them.

There is no mention of these Fees when we booked our stay on RCI / Alpenland Sport Hotel website.

I do wish laundry was cheaper and that there was air conditioning in the rooms.

You charge too much for food arrangements, so we didn't use that.

The only negative for us was the expectation that we will have self catering option to reduce the cost by making our food.

US standards would not even rate it as a bed.

but I didn't have dinner so can't comment.

The dinner menus always had so many good options we had trouble deciding!

They helped us arrange train schedules, and recommended restaurants.

Resort, restaurant and mainly the staff were amazing.

Food is traditionally Austrian and there are two buffet nights a week - Austrian and Italian.

After a full day of sightseeing it was nice to come back and have dinner and not have to go out looking for food.

The staff is so kind - both at the reception and in the restaurant.

Comfortable stay with biggg size rooms,interconnected,nice pool,spa, restaurant and above all the whole staff was supportive,helpful .

We ate there one evening and the portions were very large and very tasty.

We enjoyed the food we ordered via room service.

Facilities are great, food at the restaurant is amazing and the staff are incredibly helpful and provide some great recommendations for things to do.

We had half board in the restaurant and the food was really nice with a good selection of food.

Great pool, sauna, ping-pong, restaurant.

One other note was that the the food in the hotel restaurant was very good and the staff was extremely good in recommending other authentic Austrian restaurants in the area.

This resort was just wonderful… from the staff, to the delicious breakfast, the room, and the pool!

Our room had a little kitchenette with a table day we were easily able to prepare snacks or lunch and the table gave us lots of space to play games.

Great , hotel with excellent leisure facilities- heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are all available in the premises for all guests.

Our room and bed was very comfortable, and quietly positioned.

Excellent pool, fitness room and restaurant,  which you could buy half board.

Last morning of our stay we asked if we could get some breakfast to our room and then we were told that our dog is welcome to the terrace.

The rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

My room overlooked the patio and staff were banging around preparing for breakfast waking me up.

Other than that it was a comfortable room, and the cleaning each day was top shelf.

The quick shuttle to Alpendorf ski resort leaves every half hour for 2 Euros each way.

One of the best breakfasts we've had at ski hotels, for sure.

Our second time at this hotel and have already booked the hotel for our ski trip in Jan 2020.

Also a few places closed in St Johann and the ski resorts nearby were totally closed.

Stayed at this hotel and was good location for the ski resorts.

ski hire shop and ski school reps are in the hotel, and shuttle bus service to the ski resort every day.

We have been at least 8 times in this hotel for our ski holidays.

However, you can find everything in this hotel in sufficient quality, the town of Sankt Johann is strategically located when it comes to ski resorts, so for the reasonable price, Alpenland is definitely a good choice.

There are  a number of daily shuttle buses to the ski resort of Alpendorf .

You could also buy your lift ticket and then take a shuttle straight to the ski resort.

I would definitely recommend this location, hotel and  ski areas to anyone looking for a quaint, European vacation.

The hotel Alpenland is a very good choice for those skiing in the Ski Space area of Ski Amade.

The Alpenland Sporthotel in St Johann is primarily a Skiing hotel and as such can easily accommodate the lower demand in the autumn.

The skiing in Alpendorf is always good and fun for the whole family (not so many black runs of off piste skiing

That would have been a nice perk after skiing all day.

Every morning we toasted to an enjoyable day of skiing with a mimosa.

We were pleased we got the full board option as it made the evenings after a full day of skiing very easy and relaxing.

The spa is perfect for looking after sore muscles after a hard day of skiing.

Their pool, steam room, sauna, gym facilities are very good - and a nice way to ease aching muscles after the skiing.

In general we would come back or recommend it to anyone thinking of going skiing or hiking in this beautiful area.

I don't usually stay in hotels when skiing 

The staff were extremely helpful, the location ideal for both local facilities and for the numerous skiing resorts which made up the immense Ski Amade region.

Great location for skiing with rentals just outside the door and the ski bus as well.

The snow was great and the skiing was among the best I've ever had.

The area is a fantastic base for walking and skiing and the scenery is spectacular.

Facilities were great for a relax after skiing.

I went to St. Johann for a week of skiing and winter relaxing.

Just 2 hours from London Gatwick and within 2.5 - 3 hours you can be skiing.

We had a nice registration at the front desk.

This is a great property, with 5 star staff both at checkin and the restaurant.

Easy to use rail for reaching outlying towns.

The town has a beautiful church with an interesting history.

Plenty to do around the town, interesting shops, good cycle routes and walking trails.

St Johann im Pongau is a nice little town in the Alps.

It is situated in a small beautiful town.

However, the 4 days we were there the entire town was pretty quiet.

Rooms small with some good options

The hotel is in a good walking town near all the sites.

I would strongly recommend using the hotel excursion to Hallstatt which is one of the most beautiful little towns I have visited.

The town of St Johann in Pongau is really nice.

It’s a small town so, not noisy at all.

The town is beautiful with excellent restaurants nearby.

St Johann em Pougau is a postcard perfect small town with good restaurants & all extended stay necessities (e.g., groceries, apothecary).

First off, the town of St Johann is very well located for access to lots of great outdoor destinations, from Mulbach to Bischofshofen and even Bad Gastein.

St. Johann in Pongau was a lovely town with good selection of cafes, restaurants and shops. Relatively close to Salzburg (about 50 kms.)

The hotel is located in a heart of very charming town.

Excellent Resort in cozy little beautiful town with amazing views.

Unfortunately when I notified half an hour before the meeting that the internet was very bad they did not want to share the local internet password.

Our only issue was the wifi service, which sometimes did not support streaming TV.

This was my first visit to St. Johann Im Pongau, and I was using my ownership week through ARI's Holiday Network.

Wifi was the only problem with frequent interruptions and low speeds.

*Wifi at 27 EUR for two devices is not cost effective.

Unfortunately the wifi connection was a disaster, we had to go in the bathroom to get a 2 circle receipt and when asking for a new password we couldn't get as too may users.

And finally; if I need to pay 18€ for internet connection for a week, I would expect quality and speed in the connection

There was no free WiFi  , no breakfast included in my redemption too therefore we needed to go out every morning for something to eat.

Everything in our room was hard wired into wall.

why not free sheets for sauna , why  only one sauna  open in   top hours -

* There is an odd system for wifi which requires that each device has its own login.

but an additional 9 Euro for each additional device.

This did cover daily cleaning and the wifi cost (advertised at 18 euro per week per device).

My only concerns for this place is 1 you have to pay 18 Euro's per week for WI FI and to be honest its dreadful and 2 as a none smoker  they allow smoking in Wally's bar which leads onto the restaurant for me these were the only concerns about this place .

The only thing which could possibly have improved our stay would be air con in the rooms as it was very hot during our stay

However, the room was baking hot - even when it was cool outside and the windows had been open for hours - the staff did not respind well to this feedback, implying that we were simply being difficult and bring 2 small and borken fans after repeated complaints.

The showers give you a choice of either scalding hot or freezing cold.

The ventilation system outside was a bit noisy untill 10pm.

Also the cot was really old and not comfortable at all - definitely worth 4+ star hotel. 2.

Our physical trainer "Wiwi" was exceptional.

The hotel whilst  spotlessly clean and with superior facilities manages to make the stay not “stuffy” at all.

The facilities at the hotel are great, we used the spa (for massage and manicure - excellent) the tennis court and golf simulator, and our children loved the adventure playground in front of the hotel.

From the quality of the staff and food, to the swimming pools, gym, wellness centre, bedrooms and location of the Alpendorf gondola, less than 100 metres and Salzburg airport only a 45 minute car journey, this hotel has it all.

The spa facilities are outstanding and the staff are a pleasure to deal with.

Dissappointg as coul dhave been magical - the layout, location and facilites are great, and the pool first class.

Besides having everything in one place (restaurant, bistros, fitness, playroom, sauna and swimming pool), the hotel offers the pleasure of simplicity.

The weather was wet so it would have been a great facility.

Ideal place for Spa, 5-course dinner, infinity pool, kids club, hiking, tennis,gym,relaxing .

Situated 1 minute from the main gondola, the facilities are extensive - three swimming pools; indoor, childs slide pool and infinity pool, an array of saunas and steam rooms, yoga studio, gym, indoor tennis, beauty salon, pizzeria, kids club.

The wellness area is well served by its gym and more importantly two pools - one indoor, one out.

Views, location, great food, great facilities.

We stayed in a suite with 2 bedrooms - roomy, nicely equipped.

The facilities are excellent and the staff are very professional and go the extra mile for their guests.

Would recommend and return (hopefully soon!). Great set of activities for both adults and kids - we all loved it (even with mixed weather which they can’t control!)

The staff look after both the adults and children in a really friendly and welcoming manner.

The hotel is beautiful from top to bottom, the infinity pool was wonderful and we also enjoyed the indoor pool (plus our children loved the slide/small pool).

You are right next to the mountain lift to take you to Geisterberg which is an adventure play area for kids in the mountain.

We recomend this excelent hotel to everybody, specially families with kids, who are looking to spend couple of days in the beutifull souraundings of Alpendorf

Amazing place to Go with children - the staff in club are so much fun and the programmes are great for skiers and non skiers .

though this is marketed as a child friendly hotel, I didn't see more children than usual.
