On site restaurant serves excellent dinners and the breakfast is one of the best that we have experienced in our bicycle travels throughout Europe for the past 27 years .

Comfy hotel,very clean,delicious foods.The hotel  has  a sci rental.Unfortunately  there is  extra  fees  for  for room  cleaning  and extra charges for parking.

While it is the same breakfast every day, we found it to be very satisfying.

They have got two electric charged for electric cars

We had to wait until morning with no electric and then after we reported it and it came on, nobody even came to check and make sure it was on.

The unit had a hot water electrical pot, which could be used to make coffee, with difficulty.

For example only one socket in an inconvenient location in  both our rooms, no kettles to make a hot drink.

There was no socket at the sideboard to plug in electrical gadgets,

However, on request next morning, we were given an electric kettle and two cups!

We asked the front desk for an electric boiler and received one without additional charge, which was wonderful--we are tea and coffee enthusiasts to say the least!

Arrangements for tea/coffee with an electric kettle and a microwave should have been there in the rooms.

Note if you leave something charging when you’re out of the room the maid will unplug it.

Shortage of electrical outlets - we basically had to charge all electronics in the bathroom (as the only other outlet was in use by the fan the entire week).

which I later thought was funny since there was only ONE outlet in the whole room along with one outlet in the bathroom.

but said powerpoint would have fan no-where near bed, so 15 minutes later an extension cord arrived.

I found it very annoying there was only one outlet in the whole room, it was very difficult to charge devices.

They do not have many outlets and are not well lit.

Kettles can be requested from reception and the only shortfall was the number of plug sockets available.

Great indoor pool , workout room and numerous other amenities.

we visited the ice caves, salt mine, went tobogganing, lake swimming, all within a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

Lovely location, beautiful area and good hotel facilities.

The hotel has excellent sports facilities including a large swimming pool, and a garden where one can enjoy the sun.

There is also a good workout room which a friend complimented.

We went on several hikes in the alps and swam in an alpine lake, visited Salzburg for a day, and went to the salt mines in Hallstatt (where there is also a wonderful swimming spot) and the ice caves near Werfen.

The staff is very friendly and the gym is amazing with Lee as the friendly instructor who arranges trips for skiing and biking if you are lucky.

The pool, fitness and sauna areas are great and never overly full.

The rooms are decent sized (by European standards) comfy beds and  robes, good toilettries,  nice pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, recreation areas (ping pong, pool etc).

Resort facilities were great - restaurants, pool, grounds - couldn't be happier.

And if it rains (as it does a lot) you can enjoy the pool, fitness center sauna, steam, room of this hotel like resort..  We certainly did!

Probably the most impressive and enjoyable feature of Alpenland is the SPA: it is complete with a swimming pool, jacusi (whirlpool hot tubs), a well equipped gym with both cardio and resistance machines, saunas, both wet and dry and a relaxation room.

Great hotel, wonderful staff, good food, a really nice bar, a well equipped gym and a really cool pool - and this is in the hotel.

It is always a pleasure to arrive to a great welcome.The service and facilities are consistently excellent.Alpenland is now our family tradition as we are skiing with our grandchildren for the first time this year.

The pool is ideal for families in terms of size.

The daily swim in the huge pool was a highlight with the kids given the average weather conditions during our stay.

The pool, sauna, and steam room were nice amenities, and I used them everyday during my two weeks at the resort.

The rooms need a renovation and actualised amenities.

but renovations are being done to change that.

Everything is a bit old and outdated, except the lifts.

The room decor is a little dated ( they are refurbishing the rooms a couple at a time)

i Stay at the hotel at the first week of August unfortunately the weather was very hot and the hotel doesn't have Air Condition

but had dated furnishings and needed a makeover.

Especially advice on local traffic and road conditions.

One thing they could do is some updating of rooms.

St Johann em Pougau is a postcard perfect small town with good restaurants & all extended stay necessities (e.g., groceries, apothecary).

First off, the town of St Johann is very well located for access to lots of great outdoor destinations, from Mulbach to Bischofshofen and even Bad Gastein.

St. Johann in Pongau was a lovely town with good selection of cafes, restaurants and shops. Relatively close to Salzburg (about 50 kms.)

The hotel is located in a heart of very charming town.

Excellent Resort in cozy little beautiful town with amazing views.

The small town of Sankt Johann is nice enough,

The hotel is well located within the town with easy access to the ski bus, shops and bars

The town is close to many other touristic cities such as Salzburg and Zell am See.

The town of St Johann Im Pongau has a sweet downtown for shopping.The restaurant at the resort is great and the entire staff at the resort are friendly and helpful and accommodating.

Very close to shopping, restaurants, and the lovely town.

Nice little town in the middle of ski country, convenient to the train station.

Surrounding towns and activities are easy to reach by train or bus.

It was also really handy being within steps of a SPAR supermarket and other shops and restaurants in the town.

About 8 mins walk to train station that takes you to Salzburg, Zell am See etc..
Property is right in the town centre with a big supermarket and a shopping mall next door.

For moving around within the town is consider easy and is good if you are here for ski.

It serves as an ideal basis for hikes, walks in town or excursions to interesting and historic sites and villages nearby .

And, of course, you can always go out to the nearby town center, which offers restaurants, a sports bar and a few supermarkets.

Everything in our room was hard wired into wall.

The walls are purple and there are pin-up girl posters whose models are, most likely, now grandmothers.

And it goes through the walls so you're basically sleeping in a smokey bar.

The room had a nice balcony with table and two chairs, full wall of windows (sliding glass door), small TV with about 5 channels in English, a bed that was comprised of two twin mattresses in the same frame (very firm, compressed foam,

Instead of having dried flowers on the wall, they should have a TV hanging there!

Lechenstein Klamm (a gorge with long walkways) and Hohenwerfen Fortress (a castle on a promintory between steep Alp walls), among others.

The fresh bread and cakes were plentiful too.

The breakfast buffet has a wide selection of choices.

Food was great, both breakfast and dinner  courses.

Lunch, evening  meal and breakfast were all very good with great service.

Our room was super clean & comfortable with a clear view of the Matterhorn from our balcony, included free WiFi and complimentary breakfast & dinner, the staff was wonderful, service and food was great, and we couldn't be happier.

but breakfast and 5-course dinner menu were far beyond delicate, it made me feel like I never wanted to leave.. Take my word for it!

We had a non driving day relaxing at the hotel using the excellent pool facilities.

They also have an inside swimming pool, several saunas, relax rooms, etc.

The swimming pool is amazing as well as the service and the cuisine.

The swimming pool and wellness area was also a real treat.

The hospitality was kind, the food was great, the swimming pool and the wellness facilities were magnificent and the total experience was amazing!

Rooms are comfortable, equipped with bag with pool towels and slippers, robes, backpack and umbrella.

There is no gym (fitness room) in the hotel, which would be a good addition.

Great facilities for the whole family including a wonderful indoor swimming pool.

We hire ski equipment from the store in the basement and use mini bus transfer to the slopes.

Outside there are fabulous facilities for children - a whole tennis court worth.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and the facilities were just what we wanted - swimming pool for the kids, adjoining rooms so that Mummy and Daddy could stay up a little later, drying room for gloves and ski boots, beautiful balcony for après-ski, and of course, magnificent mountain views.

For a country that promotes fitness and well being, it is extraordinary that so many people smoke.

Facilities good, staff friendly, location excellent, etc.

The rooms are comfortable and well equipped.

Alpendorf itself is a small village 10 minutes up the hill from St Johann gathered around the two ski lifts serving the Alpendorf ski area.

although be warned walking back up the hill carrying kids and skis is hard work! !

To top it all off, on Sunday they served a mind-blowing desert buffet. I do wish the set menus had featured a bit more stereotypical Austrian fare (schnitzel, knoedel, kaesespatzle, gulasch, etc.)

I would have preferred a little more variety with some spicy and international flavours to provide some variety from the traditional fare.

but I could use the pool all day which was great for my physio and sanity!

If you come to just relax and soak up the fresh mountain air the hotel offers a very relaxing wellness area along with a swimming pool with a quiet room to sit and relax in and read a book or just snooze.

Kids were delighted with swimming pool and few other things like table tennis, kids room etc.

The hotel also had a nice wellnes area and an indoor pool with bubblebath (kids loves it).

The indoor pool area was very nice and featured some cool water jets that supplied both fun and ad hoc massages.

In the wellness they have two types of sauna, steam and nice pool, slopes are just 5 minutes walk from a hotel.

The pool area is also very good, kids had a blast as often we were the only ones using it .

The whole experience is great with the restaurant, bar, pool and apres ski bar (with the all-important nail game) in one building.

Pool and Wellness are exceptional - stainless steel pool!

Hotel has got nice new wellness area with indoor pool, two saunas and one steamroom.

We thought the pool was excellent and the room we had was great - including a balcony with two seats to sit and enjoy the mountain view, and two chairs, a table, a settee and a mini-bar along with a rucksack and drinking flask for our use as well as the usual dressing gown and slippers!

Indoor pool was nice, with an outdoor seating area which was also nice when the sun was shining.

but the best place for views and sitting outside is the new 'Sky Sauna'.

Cozy spa at the bottom, ‘master-chefed’ cuisine a level higher, more-or-even-more wooden-luxurious apartments another level higher, all topped with mountain summits easily reachable by funicular located right next to the hotel.

Maybe the best sport massage I’ve every had.

Bath and sauna also great as well as the hike with the boss of the house.

The sauna and steam room were as you would expect in a 5 star spa.

And ah, before I forget,  great pool and spa to unwind in.

The spa offered a newly refurbished pool area (really nice) with several sauna choices.

The wellness centre offers a pool with jacuzzi, a relaxation room, sauna and steam room.

The Wellness centre is particularly good with a super pool, steam rooms, saunas and relaxation area.

There is a small swimming pool and a lovely spa area with two saunas and a steam room.

Was a great family experience with pool for kids,sauna for adults, easy access to slopes, great food (included as part of deal)

After a day on the slopes, the kids usually jumped in the pool whilst some of the adults liked to warmed up in the sauna before heading for a well-deserved 4-course dinner.

Breakfast was also great, particularly the pancakes and waffles made to order and (my highlight) the freshly squeezed orange juice machine.

Food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced, the bar in the evening was very comfortable especially with the real fire as a centrepiece.

The breakfast is very good and includes all you can imagine.

If you want to have hotel breakfast, you can have it right there for 10 € per person.

The breakfast, lunch and dinner were lovely and the wine list extensive.

Breakfast standard and evenings is a rotating themed night (Italian, Austrian, Asian etc)

The half board plus includes  breakfast, lunch 12.30-16.30 and dinner.

During breakfast and dinner the waiters had to accept orders, clean up plates from table and refill the buffet.

Breakfast was simply a treat, with a chef on hand to make fresh pancakes and omelettes to order.

The rooms were large, clean and well equipped, the food was delicious and the choice was good.

The breakfast is a buffet with made to order eggs and the dinner is family style with a different theme every night.

Breakfast was also really wonderful and had lots to choose from.

Good range of food for evening meals and the breakfasts were terrific.

Parents with children were grouped together and there was no shortage of great healthy food.

Breakfast is buffet style and has everything one can ask for.

We booked an apartment which had a little kitchenette which proved very handy.The onsite pizzeria was very good and breakfasts were sumptuous.

The hotel whilst  spotlessly clean and with superior facilities manages to make the stay not “stuffy” at all.

The facilities at the hotel are great, we used the spa (for massage and manicure - excellent) the tennis court and golf simulator, and our children loved the adventure playground in front of the hotel.

From the quality of the staff and food, to the swimming pools, gym, wellness centre, bedrooms and location of the Alpendorf gondola, less than 100 metres and Salzburg airport only a 45 minute car journey, this hotel has it all.

The spa facilities are outstanding and the staff are a pleasure to deal with.
