This resort was just wonderful… from the staff, to the delicious breakfast, the room, and the pool!

We had the half-board option and thoroughly enjoyed the many options at the breakfast buffet from fresh made omelettes and whole grain bread from a local bakery to fresh fruit and pancakes.

Great breakfast spread the dinner menu is good with great vegan options as well.

It was spotless, staff was helpful,  food in restaurant delicious and reasonable.

Food is traditionally Austrian and there are two buffet nights a week - Austrian and Italian.

The restaurant offers a halfboard at 39e pp we found this excellent value and the food was delicious.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is good and varied.

Last morning of our stay we asked if we could get some breakfast to our room and then we were told that our dog is welcome to the terrace.

Location, staff, cleanliness, delicious food, comfortable setting, safe atmosphere, spa facilities. .

My room overlooked the patio and staff were banging around preparing for breakfast waking me up.

I loved my visit to Austria, and was excited to get up each day, enjoy a lovely breakfast and explore mountains, small villages, see lakes and local architecture.

Unexpected 75 euro (called as “mandatory fee”) was charged during check-out.

They have got two electric charged for electric cars

Their are many extra charges like for parking, Room cleaning, Breakfast.

RCI should direct Alpenland to include these charges up front before a person makes the booking.

The registration card must be filled out by hand.

But considering the cost vis-a-vis facilities, it is felt that the unit charges here are much higher than what you get elsewhere!

Out of repect to the customer who is already spending large amount of money, please do not charge for the two bottle of water in the room.

We asked the front desk for an electric boiler and received one without additional charge, which was wonderful--we are tea and coffee enthusiasts to say the least!

but had to pay for them; 75 Euro is a high charge for five nights of not using something.

They charge for 20 euros for wifi for first device and 10 for every other device, which is kind of silly.

Note if you leave something charging when you’re out of the room the maid will unplug it.

Housekeeping comes daily at no extra charge.

They charged extra for parking for RCI guests

If you don't know were to go by Salzburgerland card.

(Though they could finally install free wifi in the hotel complex!! Charging several euros for a few hours of internet is ridiculous in year 2015)

Be aware, they do charge for almost everything.

There are electric bikes you can hire too for 39 Euros, it's a shame you can't hire them for 2 days for a reduced price.

This was part of an RCI exchange, and we were aware this is a hotel , and that there would be extra fees involved.

Thought the breakfast buffet and restaurant prices in the hotel a bit overpriced compared to those food establishments in the area.

Breakfast is very expensive at the hotel.

The Alpenland hotel is not cheap if you pay the full price,

but we never partook due to the number of us traveling mainly due to the expense.

but you have to pay 44 euros to use them.

There is no mention of these Fees when we booked our stay on RCI / Alpenland Sport Hotel website.

I do wish laundry was cheaper and that there was air conditioning in the rooms.

You charge too much for food arrangements, so we didn't use that.

The only negative for us was the expectation that we will have self catering option to reduce the cost by making our food.

US standards would not even rate it as a bed.

Unfortunately when I notified half an hour before the meeting that the internet was very bad they did not want to share the local internet password.

Our only issue was the wifi service, which sometimes did not support streaming TV.

This was my first visit to St. Johann Im Pongau, and I was using my ownership week through ARI's Holiday Network.

Wifi was the only problem with frequent interruptions and low speeds.

*Wifi at 27 EUR for two devices is not cost effective.

Unfortunately the wifi connection was a disaster, we had to go in the bathroom to get a 2 circle receipt and when asking for a new password we couldn't get as too may users.

And finally; if I need to pay 18€ for internet connection for a week, I would expect quality and speed in the connection

There was no free WiFi  , no breakfast included in my redemption too therefore we needed to go out every morning for something to eat.

Everything in our room was hard wired into wall.

why not free sheets for sauna , why  only one sauna  open in   top hours -

but an additional 9 Euro for each additional device.

This did cover daily cleaning and the wifi cost (advertised at 18 euro per week per device).

My only concerns for this place is 1 you have to pay 18 Euro's per week for WI FI and to be honest its dreadful and 2 as a none smoker  they allow smoking in Wally's bar which leads onto the restaurant for me these were the only concerns about this place .

The view from our room was stunning, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the food and drinks were delicious, I could go on and on.

Breakfast especially is very good with a large choice.

Buffet breakfast with local specialities as well as international favourites.

Food of the best local ingredients cooked to perfection and served with smooth efficiency.

The fresh bread and cakes were plentiful too.

The breakfast buffet has a wide selection of choices.

Food was great, both breakfast and dinner  courses.

Lunch, evening  meal and breakfast were all very good with great service.

Our room was super clean & comfortable with a clear view of the Matterhorn from our balcony, included free WiFi and complimentary breakfast & dinner, the staff was wonderful, service and food was great, and we couldn't be happier.

but breakfast and 5-course dinner menu were far beyond delicate, it made me feel like I never wanted to leave.. Take my word for it!

The daily breakfast buffet featured pastries, breads, eggs, breakfast meats, etc.

Both breakfasts and dinners (5 course meal) were great.

Breakfast and diner are outstanding and we  were served by very young, polite and very charming staff.

Offers supper and light lunch package which was great value and delicious.

It was also possible for the children to choose from the children's buffet.

We paid for breakfast at the time of booking and the buffet was very good.

We stayed 5 nights there and had to leave two nights early because we could not sleep in our loud room, they could not give us another room and it was too hot inside.

but not the best I have experienced in European hotels, there was a limited selection of hot food.

Generally choice of a meat, fish and vegetarian dish every evening with wide choice of hot and cold continental style breakfast.

I am still wondering what was the point of "celery foam" on one meal!!!.

Only small criticism - don't bother opting for meal in downstairs bar - not worth it and poor service comparably and if you like a cuppa - take your own kettle - small spar shop opposite hotel to buy t bags and  milk.

The only thing which could possibly have improved our stay would be air con in the rooms as it was very hot during our stay

However, the room was baking hot - even when it was cool outside and the windows had been open for hours - the staff did not respind well to this feedback, implying that we were simply being difficult and bring 2 small and borken fans after repeated complaints.

The showers give you a choice of either scalding hot or freezing cold.

The ventilation system outside was a bit noisy untill 10pm.

Breakfast was also great, particularly the pancakes and waffles made to order and (my highlight) the freshly squeezed orange juice machine.

Food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced, the bar in the evening was very comfortable especially with the real fire as a centrepiece.

The breakfast is very good and includes all you can imagine.

If you want to have hotel breakfast, you can have it right there for 10 € per person.

The breakfast, lunch and dinner were lovely and the wine list extensive.

Breakfast standard and evenings is a rotating themed night (Italian, Austrian, Asian etc)

The half board plus includes  breakfast, lunch 12.30-16.30 and dinner.

During breakfast and dinner the waiters had to accept orders, clean up plates from table and refill the buffet.

Breakfast was simply a treat, with a chef on hand to make fresh pancakes and omelettes to order.

The rooms were large, clean and well equipped, the food was delicious and the choice was good.

The breakfast is a buffet with made to order eggs and the dinner is family style with a different theme every night.

Breakfast was also really wonderful and had lots to choose from.

Good range of food for evening meals and the breakfasts were terrific.

Parents with children were grouped together and there was no shortage of great healthy food.

Breakfast is buffet style and has everything one can ask for.

The breakfasts were delicious, and some pleasant surprises like totally free bicycle use were a bonus.

For activity holiday the breakfast was excellent - lot of different choises of food gets one through the day pretty much.

The beds are hard and not so comfortable, could be upgraded in my opinion,

And in the middle of the summer a wide open window (or door) seemed essential.

Breakfast, lunch and the 3 o’clock cake buffet were amazing

Food: delicious and varied - the quality of the food is fantastic.

Dinner time was generally excellent – good and healthy food from the buffet for the kids and then adults had a wonderful 5 course menu on most days.

You would have them hovering all over the buffet area with the kids food, the plates, tables.

Not only they get the basis perfectly (think of spaghetti bolognese for the kids - it's delicious),

The kids were happy too, being able to taste our "grown up" menu or being free to help themselves to the kids' buffet, of equal quality.

You have the same table at breakfast and dinner time, already set up with high chair etc.

We arrived early and were offered to help ourselves to the lunch buffet that was just beginning.

The ingredients are high quality, the portions perfectly matched and there is some creativity in the menu's.

The food is of a five-star-quality, delicious, fresh and healthy.

The food was plentiful and very good quality, and again served by friendly, willing and responsive staff.

The food served for dinner at your own reserved table is delicious.

Every member of staff knows who you are and what room you are in without you telling them.

Also, might be worth getting another member of the team for childcare room – sometimes it looks a bit manic in there!

Example: daughter starts crying in front of the kids buffet (Mummy had put pasta sauce on pasta where it was not supposed to be, Staff member comes by, we are offered other food choices in case nothing on the buffet (which had plenty of options) would feed picky kid.

We are pescatarian and don’t take dairy products - which is atypical of Austrian food - at one point there was some misunderstandings, and the named staff above really heard our needs, and then stepped up in providing service that makes it an international experience, while providing a beautiful, home away from home.

Moar Gut is a farm so flies are to be expected and there certainly were not enough to ruin our enjoyment at any point

I personally didn’t see the point in offering gourmet food if you had to share it with the flies.

The only improvment points that I feel could lead to even a better experience are:
1) Better ventilation at the live cooking station in order to minimise the food aromas.

The taxi fare was 120 euros each way and so for a similar price I’m sure we could have hired a car, and there is a beautiful nature reserve that we would have liked to have visited on another occasion (we took one organised tour there with some other families).

In 3 days nothing happened and we left without it (hope they still find it and mail it, it was of sentimental value)
- We paid 330 euros for a transfer from Munich to the hotel.

Considering the cost of staying there and comparing this to other kinderhotels we had been to, we shall not be returning.

I believe they need to raise the prices a bit to deal with the super high demand.

The hotel is not cheap, especially with the current exchange rate,

Obviously all of this did not come cheap,

Why 4* instead of five: the price is quite high, 500€/day isn't cheap.

Breakfast included freshly prepared eggs of your choice with smoked salmon, bacon or sausage.

The Spa and pool area were the nicest I have experienced, and the food was plentiful, tasty and always served with the greatest of personal attention.

Food was really great (breakfast, afternoon snack, dinner), restaurant staff was great, very polite, attentive.

The food was delicious and we were not over faced by huge plates of food that got wasted.

They liked the meals that they could chose from the buffet.

The restaurant also proved to be a great experience, offering a very good breakfast, as well as diversified menu that also included choices for vegetarians.

but most importantly, two of our skis were stolen right out of the cellar storage space.

Downsides: 
-wi fi was not stable enough for working 
-too warm and humid in the indoor pool area regardless of the open door towards the garden
-small outside pool - both were "invaded" by children who made those their own "playground" which is not so nice when trying to rest or swim.

- The wifi is unsecured and disconnects every time you do not use it for 3 minutes or so.

The tasty gourmet food on both breakfast and dinner.

Everything was perfect, very nice and large rooms, delicious food with nice wine selection, cosy bar, restfull spa and most importantly the staff was exceptionally kind and helpful.

Food was very good, with good variety, local ingredients, and friendly service.

We had the half board option, so breakfast and dinner was included, which was the perfect option for tired skiers.

We did half board and breakfast was very good with the dinners exceptional.
