I was concerned about a previous review which mentioned construction works

The first room we were given was very loud due to neighbouring construction we swiftly requested to change rooms - it it worth noting that both rooms had tired shower curtains and blinds. 5.

The only downside was the construction constant banging etc near our room in building 6 did really spoil it

Unfortunately, there was a construction Site during our stay

Unfortunately the first room Chanalai put us in smelt very badly of damp, the mattress was hard and we realised that our room backed onto a construction site.

We arrived at our room and found out they had put us right next to the construction behind them.

On the back of the hotel there are some construction.

We were placed in a sea view room near the construction

an arms length from the construction site.

They checked people in next to the construction only to see them complaining the next morning at the front desk.

There is heavy construction going on next to the hotel (out of their control), so while walking around, you often hear heavy banging/construction, or see lots of dirt mounds and machinery.

Behind the hotel is a big construction yard so things get noisy from early morning till late evening.

Although first 6 nights we had to put up with the noise (building construction) outside

And then she said “if you don’t want this room, we have to change you to the room next to construction.

Nearby there was construction work going on, and they would start in the early hours of the morning.

Maybe he write is himself .If I Iasked about room and  the  construction on the back of the hotel (here is very noise).They will no ansver enithing  and I think he not care  the customers needed.

The hotel next door is under serious construction so our room was noisy, and it made for a scary view out our front door.

Be aware that due to its hillside location their are many sets of steps to negotiate and a new construction project is currently under way on hill behind hotel only meters away so avoid rooms near this construction as noise is noticeable in this area.

although be aware that at the moment there is a lot of construction work going so very noisy from 7.30 am until about 6pm.

looking for information, requesting help with calling a shop in town to see if they are open during a day-long power outage).

Initially my room the shower water is lack of pressure & flow, upon calling the technician got it fixed almost immediately.

I asked for help and I asked them to call the police.

The smell was so disgusting until we had to call the front desk a few times at midnight.

Some things the hotel can do to improve their ratings: make sure there is toilet paper in the rooms, make sure the room phones work, and do some detail cleaning.

however with only 2 x burner rings and 1 sometimes 2 staff the queues were long and frustrating this needs to be looked at.

They wouldn’t refill the towels, so we had to call for them.

We had to call three times for more shampoo and shower gel and ran out of toilet roll on the last day.

but never took the time to use, as we got our exercises climbing all the stairs each day,( if not mobile maybe would not be great as there is a lot of stairs to get to your rooms).

Lamp shades turned brown, phone smelt awful never been wiped, no long mirror to look at myself, just wasn’t comfortable enough to touch much in this room.

They Call you after 11pm to hear about how you are.

There’s also no real bar area at the hotel other than 2 small sofas by reception or some cushions they put on top of a building which they call a roof top bar, again we just went elsewhere so wasn’t really a problem.

Though we were disappointed by the room-service staff (not picking up dirty plates for hours after numerous calls) and the house-keeping staff (not receiving an iron after numerous calls and waiting in our room for two hours) at first.

I don't want to ring as while there I found the reception desks English was not good enough to understand anything beyond very basic things and it would be useless.

I wouldn't hesitate recommending this hotel to others except those who are not so mobile (re the shower).

I said no, my phone I was holding was actually dead, and it got to the point where I had to show her this.

Asked for a pair of slipper & had to call them 3 time & they took 2 hours to get just a pair of slipper.

however no blow dryer and no iron in the room, you have to call room service.

After reaching the top floor we stepped in the room and I was feeling hot ACTUALLY THE AC WAS NOT WORKING and I had to call a couple of times for that.

If you ask for a towel or clean sheets or toilet paper, you are lucky to get it after calling 3 times.

The spread is poor and quality was so so.

It's a real shame that the Chanalai is given poor reviews because of the steps, as it's clear from the other reviews that there are many steps and few lifts, also, there is no pavement outside the hotel and into the main street so it can be difficult walking at busy periods in the traffic.

The shower wasn't great as the water pressure was pretty poor and I don't think the mixer was very good as changing the temperature even the slightest made it go scalding/ too cold.

The only slight let down was the poor WiFi in the room.

Breakfast in general is a poor quality - we just had fried eggs on toast 3 days and chose to eat out for the remaining time as there was cold coffee and unappetising food.

It is not acceptable from such a pretentious hotel to offer such a poor level of customer service.

Later we learned their communication is very poor.

We had 10 days half board with same poor dinner buffet, same food for 10 days, you can have a la carte for extra charge with a minimum 45 mins wait just for your starter, drinks not included not even a glass of water.

but there aren't enough of them and the same poor people seemed to do everything.

It was the same every day, lacked variety and the quality was poor.

Not clean, insects inside rooms, breakfast very poor !

First we had a truly ridiculous adventure hike just to get to our room (2 elevators and 6 flights of stairs) with the poor bell boy dripping sweat as he carried our bags for us (wouldn't accept help, I assume because of his management).

The water was dirty, and when using goggles under water, you could really see the filaments, dirt, leaves and other signs of both a poor filtering system and an inefficient pool manager.

However, it is let down by very poor staff.

but the quality of ingredients is so poor that you can barely it most of it like the salad bar, fruit and breads.

We felt that the few times that Thai food that was available it was of poor quality.

but the poor guy is rushed off his feet as they are busy!

They dont change towels need to ask for it and service is poor, seems that hotel is under staff.3.

but I'm afraid the entertainment was very poor.

The hotel and rooms and everywhere have free wifi, unlike Kata beach resort which is more expensive with poor wifi and charged for.

I stay at Chanalai garden resort in room number 6303.

One of the best hotels in Phuket, beach is just 5 min walk, nice swimming pool with bar, clean room, friendly stuff, very good breakfast for buffet, very big hotel so you won’t feel uncomfortable at all.

I stay at Chanalai Garden resorts in room number 2402.

Our room was very comfortable with a balcony overlooking one of the pools.

Khun Beau helped us find rooms all next to each other.

The room was cleaned and view from the room is very nice.

For the service is perfect staff at the lobby helping our for find the best view room thank june and dear and thank  for the help carry my bag from our room snook and pream , for the pool bar is delicious cocktail and the room service so yummy thank for everything,it is the first time i will be come back 5104

The room was so clean and the swimming pool was so good, they have 2 swimming pool and a space for kids.

10 minutes to Karon beach, lots of restaurants, mini marts, exchange places on the way.

Went to Thai at September, this hotel situated from 10 minutes from the karon beach, no problem to get it here.

Only a 10 minute walk from Karon Beach, this hotel has an amazing breakfast buffet and great local and international dishes a la carte.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Karon Lake and, right behind, gorgeous Karon beach (the quieter end).

Pacific club hotel is nestled about 10 min walk from Karon Beach.

Internet speed was very good across the resort and in the rooms, allowing endless Zoom meetings and VPN connections to work, while not wandering along the beach and island attractions.

An onsite spa is also here, and the hotel is just a few minutes' walk to one of the quietest and nicest beaches on the island.

The PACIFIC CLUB RESORT in Karon Beach, Phuket, Thailand 

Well I have just completed my two week stay, here again, at the “BEST” boutique resort I have found in over 20+ years of traveling to Thailand at The Pacific Club Resort.

The beach and Karon are just a short walk away, and I found the walk very enjoyable.

Go to big Buddha, Patong, Elephant Sanctuary Patong, Beach is fab and entertaining watching the very dangerous parascending.

In terms of location, a gentle stroll downhill, about 10 minutes, will leave you in the heart of Karon Beach.

Not too fond of Karon beach apart from great waves.

If you are going to Karon Beach, know that you can rent beach umbrellas and chaise lounges for 100 baht each per day.

Situated in the hills 10 minutes walk from Karon beach there is a quiet peaceful atmosphere.

The hotel is a short walk into town or to the beach and you can get a shuttle to the beach also (hotel bus).

Take a small torch with you as the road directly outside ( on a steepish hill ) is quite dark.

It is a bit dark at night when walking back to the hotel

!.Fortunately arriving at our Hotel was literally like arriving into an Oasis of charm and calm.Beautiful Hotel designed very aesthetically with plants and flowers everywhere.It is located slightly out of the main drag up a small incline which some may find diffcult, we did not and enjoyed our daily walks to and from town .There is a taxi point just outside the hotel and tut tuts everywhere anyway for those who do not like too much walking.Our room was lovely a little dark

Once we finally arrived near the airport, our driver noticed a Thai Police blockade, and immediately did a U-Turn and drove us down a dark side street until he found other drivers with other cars.

however, we usually got a taxi or tuk-tuk (200b) back up to the resort, especially if it was dark.

Second the hotel is very dark every where, you have to take your breakfast with lightings in a very dark ambiance.

I used to quite enjoy those dark late night desolate walks back

The centre of Karon is easily reached on foot in 10 minutes or less and while it's a bit of a hike back up the hill to the hotel, the hill is short and there are lanterns all the way up as far as the resort to light the way when it's dark and we felt perfectly safe.

The nearest 7-11 is about 1km away and I didn’t feel like walking there on my own in the dark, and as you cannot drink the tap water… well, needless to say I had a fairly uncomfortable night!

but was rather dark - as not too much light makes it into the room via the courtyard.

The only drawback is that it is about a 15minute walk to Karon and the road is very steep and dark.

The hotel is small and a bit dark, and we felt that was not comfortable for us.

If I was to be super critical there were two points that do need attention, the lights on the stairs are all at floor level and not very bright and when you walk  down them in the dark they cast shadows therefore you cannot see the next step, all it needs is a bulk head light at each level.

We didn’t have any issues with mosquitoes because we did the same thing we do at home, we didn’t open the balcony door when it was dark and we spayed Rid (insect repellent) when we went out.

They provide adequate lighting, in my opinion, even on the dark nights, and look better than normal streetlights.

dark brown refried dry chickenand a few greasy chips.My husband and I both ordered prawns only to be told they only had enough for one serve.

We found the stairway area ( just after the elevator ) a little dark!

"Dogs on dark road" - sometimes they hang around, looking completely wrecked after a a day in the sun and are really just chilling.

I notice that someone complained in the past few days about the “very dark” roadway leading to P/C.

but I changed it due to some poor reviews.

but it really missed the mark or was poor quality.

2nd time we ate we had to use our mobiles as lights as they hadnt charged any - very poor if I am honest.

We had a few lunches and evening  meals there and never had a poor meal.

Found this place from our fellow Tripadvisor contributors and decided to book up and spend our last three nights here and get day trips to the islands as opposed to spending our time there (reviews of hotels on Phi Phi Don seemed in general quite poor).

Our only general comment is that there seems to be a constant smell of garbage throughout the area due to the heat, humidity, and poor waste management (applies to Phuket generally, not specific to the Pacific Club Resort) - just be aware.

(we only had one poor meal the whole time we were in Thailand)
The walk to the beach was easy as was to the town, the walk back a little harder!

although English was poor this didn't matter - it was better than our Thai!

Most of all were the frequent power cuts in the evenings, 3 out of 10 of the nights we were there due to poor weather conditions.

but the reception was poor (often choppy) so we did not use it much.

Gym in poor condition, should be sealed and have air con as I trained in 32 degree centigrade heat, plus gym equipment needs updating.

Breakfast was a little lacking in that the juice was poor, choice overall lacking or food inedible at times.

but after several poor meals we  went else where.We started with the continental breakfast but that was just cornflakes, muesli or bran, fruit yogurt white bread orange cordial?,Pretty ordinary when you can get a hot breakfast at the Little Mermaid for 105 B and Jim charges 200B plus 17% tax.

The only onething we didnt like in the hotel was the breakfast,it was really so poor,not even fresh juices or cheese or anything,And the place for food wasnt clean we saw insects on it,this was the bad thing in the pacific club

Why go to all that trouble and then murder the poor steak?

Also the staffs English was very poor, whist I understand this is a second/third/etc language I would expect the staff to understand, for example, where is the toilet.

We immediately had brunch in the restaurant and Joso was the most lovely, kind and friendly server.

We ate dinner here a few times both in the restaurant and room service, the food was top quality, well presented and reasonably priced.

The fact you can order food and drinks to anywhere in the resort from your phone is very cool.

I also liked their breakfast menu , and particularly the warmth and hospitality of all the staff .

The restaurant and menu  updated to include modern diets. Just an absolutely wonderful experience (again)

Now, despite the pandemic, that has done so much damage to the economy of Phuket, the staff is positive and accommodating, the restaurant is still supporting the entire menu, and the hotel is very well maintained and clean.

The menu has been revamped and is better than ever.

If you are considering visiting Phuket and want your money’s worth on accommodations, excepcional service, and great food, this is the hotel you want to book!

Food was awesome and service for anything was easy.

Restaurant serves a variety of tasty Thai and western options.

The rooms are outstanding and the food is always very tasty and reasonably priced.

Important to note the restaurant is happy to customize the dish as per your taste.

Drinks and meals can be served also in the Jacuzzi Garden.

The restaurant was very flexible with working hours and breakfast time.

I have been coming here for many years, the resort has a nice boutique feel, the rooms are very comfortable, the rooftop pool with sea view is amazing and the restaurant and room service have a very good menu with reasonable prices.

The same with the restaurant on the evening.

However, everything on their full menu was very tasty and freshly prepared.

Food was clean, tasty and had large portions.

The rooms are clean and the hotel is well maintained despite the set back from Covid.

Our room was immaculate and with amazing views.

The reception area, the “Dining Room” and each of the individual rooms were spotlessly clean.

Got upgraded upon check in and the room was spotless .

Our room was spacious and clean and all rooms have a beautiful view of the tropical garden below.

Room was always clean and a request for just a bed sheet was met without a worry.

The rooms were clean, well air conditioned and had the standard amenities.

It's about 1klm from the main road so if you don't want to walk in the hot sun best to hire a motorbike.

A 10 minute walk to Karon to enjoy daily massages and shopping for trinkets or snacks for the evening Netflix movie.

but 10 minutes walk will  get you near the action if that's what you want.
