The breakfast at the hotel was one of the best I've had that was included with stay.

The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the fresh-squeezed orange juice was absolutely awesome!

The rooms weren't cleaned properly and some smelled very bad, had food left on the floor, suspicious wet areas on the chairs.

It was almost as if there was water damage or per odor!!

The smell of sewer gas wafting from our bathroom was nauseating at best.

My second room had an overwhelming foot odor to a point where we had to open the window.

Our stay was noisy, smelly and frustrating.

Lobby smelled like sewer, room smelled like sewer, shower was filthy, bed look like unwashed sheets.

Rooms were not ready, hallways smelled of sewage, pool was broken, bar was shut down.

Tell tale sign of urine splatters around the toilet.

Room smelled like smoke in the walls/carpet.

There was a strange sewer type smell permeated our room and parts of hotel.

Pool/hot tub so cloudy with chemicals you couldn't see your feet in 2 feet of water.

This facility had active mold in the rooms.

I had to go buy candles to stifle the stench of this hellhole.

Nothing works, pool is disgusting, place smells, BED BUGS, etc. Awful.

The bathroom had a bad odor so we had to leave the fan on the whole time of the stay.

but still - mattress was stained, comforter was stained, and when we woke up to leave noticed a musty smell and saw the AC had mold coming from it.

The shower head barely dripped out, and clubbing music was blaring for 30 mins at almost midnight and off and on the rest of the night!!!

We found several bugs in our room crawling on the carpet and on the walls of the bathroom!

Left the hotel and received a call at 830pm to return to hotel because it was being shut down for a water leak.

Tile loose on floor of bathrooms; toilets not working; furnishings extremely worn and threadbare.

Jetted tub was insanely loud and embarrassing to run.

I used the bathroom and went to wash my hands.

Filthy windows, loose toilet seat & filthy kleenex box in bathroom.

There were bugs in the bathroom multiple times.

but shows a lack of planning for whoever is ordering supplies for the hotel (They are also short shampoo because we got one tube in 4 days but 10 tubes of lotion.)

One guest had pictures of faucet have off, shower head a problem, big nasty stains on carpet, so I was one of the lucky ones.

We walk into the bathroom to shower we had no shower curtain.

Bathroom door hinges completely covered in rust.

There were no hangers and extra toilet paper.

He offered to fix the shower and make more food, we declined as we already checking out.

The drain to the tub was dismantled so it would cause the tub to drain very slowly while you were in it.

Breakfast area was fully stocked and well maintained.

The breakfast was fresh and the space well maintained.

The staff was great and the breakfast and location were the only positives.

Love the breakfast area and the wonderful service provided by employee Louis.

Breakfast buffet was well stocked with cereal, bagels, eggs and various other items.

The breakfast was delicious and prepared by a very sweet lady who kept up with everything!

The breakfast area was clean and checked on by staff in a timely manner.

Their breakfast is improving and the man taking care of things there was great.

We arrived at 9:40am the next morning and breakfast was put away.

If you want watery eggs and spongy sausage for breakfast, this is your place.

Breakfast was good with ample selections and staff on duty to assist.

The staff was fantastic and the breakfast was excellent.

Good news is the front desk staff is very nice and Paula in the breakfast area is a gem.

The carpets had spots, doors had wear and tear, towels had spots, air vents were dirty and dusty and the mirror and sink faucets hadn't been cleaned in weeks.

Well, that clearly is not happening as that same pool door is has tape on it (some 3 months later).

It was a bit noisy in the hotel, there was a soccer team staying there and we overheard some fighting from the room next door.

The new room was cleaner and the door shut without needing to be slammed shut.

My bathroom had a faucet that moved around in the sink, the door handle to bathroom fell off, the spa was out of order for 3 days and I slept on a stained pillow overnight before I notice the stain under the pillow case.

Beds were made only on the night before checkout.Our door did not shut and lock if left to its own devices and upon return to the room it was ajar with my computer inside on the table.

but appeared half done, with towels left on the floor and piled up outside our door all night.

The first thing I see at 7:00 am is a bunch of kids outside of my door playing soccer again leaning up against my door so when I open it one falls into my room.

but you had the do not disturb sign on your door.

Our door had a broken handle, flies infested the bathroom, broken fixtures, dirty tub, burnt out lights and a foreign substance on the windows.

But was not cleaned while we were out of the room with the sign on the door to clean it.

Front door dirty, and lobby smells strongly of chlorine from the pool.

But the creepiest thing was an older man, sitting in the entry way right in front of the door, reading a newspaper.

If there is a game next door don't plan on coming and going from the hotel.

The door separating the bedroom from the living area was mostly glass which does not allow for any privacy.

I myself noted the door between the living/bedroom area was missing curtains.

After getting to the room, I open one of the doors next to the microwave and there is food from Taco Bueno sitting in a bag.

The carpets are dirty and the entire place smells musty.

Out dated, had a funky smell, the pool was out of commission, the first rooms bed you could feel the springs through it and the room smelled, the 2nd rooms bed wasn't much better.

The hotel is outdated and it has a musty smell.

Hotel carpets throughout the lobby, main stairs to 2nd floor and throughout the hallways were filthy, stained and tattered.

Place was dirty, room is just average and filthy with hair in the tub.

There was clear water damage above the shower, along with two holes, one of which looked and smelled moldy.

First off the front desk lady had a off behavior she seemed rude elevator didn’t work first room had pee on the bed and second room smelled with the wrong remote don’t recommend at ALL worst hotel ever!

We arrived to find our room smelling like smoke.

Found marijuana rolling papers next to bed, and a tobacco chew pouch next to the couch on the floor.

but not least the whole place smelled of smoke!!!!!

The toilet bowl had stains running all down it and looked quite disgusting.

You still need to clean the hairs out of the sink and tub.

but did not clean the hair out of the tub.

Since I could not rest, I decided to soak in the tub.

The tub's faucet leaked, and it had clearly been doing so for a very long time, as the enamel of the tub was eroded and cracked.

Our room looked to be from the 80's with crumbling grout in the bathroom and stained caulking around the tub.

The water in the bathtub would never shut completely off.

For the prices, they ought to upgrade the bedding, tub surrounds, and other extremely outdated features.

My only complaint is the amount of flat space in the bathtub.

Bathrooms were run down and tub was rusty no water pressure.

Did not need workout facilities due to aerobic workout provided by standing in the shower/tub.

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a lot of options.

Breakfast wasn’t quite what we had come to expect from a Hampton.

The breakfast was good with cheese omelets, sausage, waffles, fruit, bagels, pastries and juices.

We had a very nice and comfortable room and we enjoyed a great breakfast.

Breakfast was good and staff is friendly.

Decent breakfast the next weekday morning & beds were okay.

It was good location I was 15 minutes from the legends and Oak Park Mall, My room was clean, breakfast was good, staff was available, nice, and welcoming.

but staffers said that will likely go back to standard pre-pandemic Hampton breakfasts within a month.

Looked like drink or food residue was on the walls in certain areas (room 405).

The room had a terrible musty smell throughout our three night stay.

As an added bonus, the front desk staff will treat you poorly and the free breakfast they should pay you for eating. Yuck.

After being charged up front, when as advertised, I should have been charged upon check out, I woke up to make coffee and decided to check the coffee maker first and found BLACK MOLD in the water area of the coffee pot.

My guess is the odor is coming from the A/C units,

It did smell musty; like mold was growing. .

It smelled bad and I could hear every single drop of water running down through the walls.

The bathroom needs a lot of updating the shower was poor and there was pink mold in the grout of the floor.

Room was very humid, made my clothes smell musty.

What a relief that the sheet don't smell like chlorine or dryer sheets or fragrant laundry detergent like Tide or Gain.

Upon arrival room smelled a little musty.

Don't go there in the summer and I would worry about mold in the rooms also.

First, the jetted tub in the room was difficult to get in and out of.

The tub in the middle of the room can also be a challenge to get in and out of.

Cracks in the ceiling, caulking in jacuzzi peeling, bathroom sink drained extremely slow, bathroom ceiling fan was loud, dirty needed cleaning and was mounted cock eyed.

We woke up multiple times to the toilet flushing above us and the room was just average at best.

It looks like other rooms do not have the same type of tub.

As a note, we didn't have any issues with smelling mildew or anything like that, even with our bathtub set up the way it was.

There was paint peeling and the floor near the bath was wet from the momemt we walked in.

The carpet had stains all over it, chairs/table were worn/stained, room smelled, window was leaking water in, and some continuous noise.

It was very difficult to reach the controls for the faucet from inside the tub.

Our only complaints are that the hot water was almost gone when we went to run a bath and the breakfast portions were a little skimpy based on the high price.

but one light switch controlled everything in the bathroom/toilet area.

This hotel room was not very large and was very dated with Rusty door frames by the bathroom and when we pulled down the blanket to cover up at bedtime it had huge yellow spots several of them look like it had not been washed for a while!

They have a small table and two chairs that were just in the way the entire time weather you were trying to get to the bed or trying to get to the bathroom.

No seat, step or anything to put our shampoo, body wash, etc. on.

but we ended up having to leave the bathroom fan on for some white noise.

The sheets had holes in them, stains throughout the entire room, no closet space, the bedroom area was very Dusty, the rod was bent and I feel that a lot was missing from the room.

The toilet had s__t on the front of the bowl that was there upon our arrival and was there when we left. Gross!

They have not maintained the room as the large "bookcase" door into the bedroom is warped so that it will not close, the round window has leaked and cause the paint to chip off.

Breakfast room service was delicious the next morning.

We also thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and would absolutely recommend the strata and the s'mores cappuccino.

I highly recommend the French toast the staff was very friendly.

The first morning we treated ourself to the in house breakfast.

Of course you know we had to stop at the Hollywood casino and breakfast was delicious and served to my front door.

We ordered breakfast brought to our room and it was delicious and perfect.

Breakfast on both days were on time or a little early and the quality, pricing, and quantity were within "restaurant expectations" for the area.

The bartender, Pat, was very nice, and made us a delicious pineapple upside down cake martini.

Our package with the champagne and breakfast was very good.

Spa/massage was very relaxing,  breakfast was pretty good, a little pricey, and the denial bar was awesome.

Every morning you can have breakfast in bed (I highly recommend getting their hot chocolate — so good!

The in room breakfast was good and had a good variety of items to choose from.

In past trips we received complimentary bottle of sparkling juice and complimentary breakfast.

Breakfast was really good  coffee was a little weak for my taste.

The morning after breakfast is delivered fast and is most delicious!

The hotel was very clean, our breakfast was outstanding, the decor was exceptional, and the staff was available to cater to our needs (if necessary) to be sure our stay was wonderful.

however for the price we paid for it I really expected more.

For the price of the rooms, I would just expect a higher level of service.

but I don't think it is worth what you pay for it.

For the price we paid per night, the entire experience was disappointing.

The biggest issue for the very expensive rate was that there was no house keeping service or room cleaning and

I guess it cost me $140 in overdraft fees and a completely ruined birthday surprise to realize that Chateau Avalon is not a place that takes care of people who spend their money with them.

I asked to be moved only to be told I would have to pay again.

We were also told that the owner paid the staff during the time the hotel had to be shut down because of Covid.

For what we paid ($325 for one night), I expected more.

I can’t believe the money that I paid and I can’t get in the tub with my date and enjoy an evening.

For what it cost, we did not get what we asked for, greatly disappointed.

Disappointment for what you pay for these themed rooms is what we got.

I guess my expectations were set high considering the price they charge per night!

Now you are paying a higher price for a hot tub in the room,

Initially, it was included as part of your rate.

We went to room asked for room service and the appetizer was hard and stale.

I paid 50 dollars to upgrade to a Venetian Luxury Room because the first room we had was very stinky and dirty.

Immediately, upon entering the room it had a gross/mildew smell.

We did not order breakfast based on the number of terrible reviews, and based on the burnt smell the next morning when we checked out, that probably was a good decision.

The room was dirty, the Jacuzzi was filthy, stains on the sheets, bar was closed, employee very unprofessional.

The Seville we reserved was on the first floor and had a musty moldy smell.
