We always walked to get around the city except Dolmabahce Palace.

The White House was perfect as we walked to many of the attractions and when we visited the Grand Bazaar,  the Dolmabahce Palace and Spice Market the light rail/tram is virtually at the end of the street.

This lovely hotel is ideally located just a few minutes away from the key attractions of Istanbul (Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace etc).

We were within short walking distance to the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Market, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofya, the Blue Mosque, the Roman Cistern and a sea of Restaurants and shops.

White House Hotel Istanbul is located in the heart of the historical peninsula and it is within few munites walking distance to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Archeology Museum, the Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar.

All major Sultanahmet area attractions like Hagia Sophia, Blue mosque, Bucolean Palace, Topkapi Palace, and Basilica Cistern are in about just 2 munites walk.

The hotel is close to everything and is worthy of a grand palace

It was spacious and decorated as a chamber in a palace.

The room is very comfortable and the roof top has such a beautiful view of the Mosque.

Wonderful staff; great location close to the top attractions, the tram line, and nearby restaurants; impeccably clean and comfortable room (we loved the rose petal touch); and a very nice breakfast on the top floor with a view of the top of the Haggia Sofia.

The room was clean and cozy and i also appreciated the fact that the hotel was not too much big since you breathed a familiar atmosphere.

Amazing location (2 minutes away from every place you must go in Istanbul), super nice, kind and helpful staff, very clean rooms and common areas, nice typical breakfast.

The room was well equipped and clean, I must say the location is perfect!

The breakfast room is on the roof with a lovely view of Istanbul and the water.

The bathroom is also small, and the shower is enclosed in a small circular area like if you look a cruise ship voyage and had those showers.

A previous review mentioned the shower was too small - this person must’ve been the size of a small elephant as I am 6foot and quite hefty yet the shower was perfect.

However,single rooms are a little tight on space planning.The toilets are very small !

but we were disappointed to see that the room is hyper small, bathroom is also small and bed is double.

although the bathroom was a little too small.

On the down side the rooms were a bit small

Namely non-sound-proof walls, a small room with no view, occasional sewer smells, lack of storage space, and unsatisfactory breakfast selection (which, to be fair, is to be expected at a smaller hotel).

The room we had for 6 nights was small, (standard double) that we booked on Expedia.

The only draw back is the rooms are somewhat small (which is ok) and have little to no storage space (this is the biggest challenge- no counter space to store your belongings between days).

The rooms are small (think London) and the hotel has no other amenities like a pool or fitness center etc.

though the room was on the small side; albeit within minutes of the hagia sofia and blue mosque.

The hotel is small and I think just has 14 rooms.

From day one the Service and Staff have been Excellent.

The staff are super friendly, helpful, and kind.

I found a very qualified and cordial staff.

But the main strength of this hotel lies in its people: we felt very warmly welcomed and taken care of thanks to Mert, Halli and Rahman!

The staff were terrific-warm, friendly, always helpful.

Magnificent hotel with a magical location to visit everything, we loved all the staff so responsive to all our requests, they made all the reservations for the restaurants and the entrances to the various tourist activities, exceptional breakfast, we recommend this magnificent hotel

I say that because the hotel was wonderful, especially the staff, who bent over backwards to make sure everything that we needed was done.

The food was delicious, the place was super clean, and the owner was a true host that made me feel he cared about me and my safety.

They were polite and helpful, especially with the stroller, answering our questions, organizing the cruise and pick up from and to the airport.

The hotel staff go above and beyond for their guests and make them feel like family.

Special mentions to Mr Mert  for his lovely welcome (Turkish delight and fizz) and helpful advice.

I personal letter welcoming us to the Hotel by the owner was another special touch.

The terrace view of the Hagia Sophia was an amazing sight to take in.

Very  nice breakfast every morning on the top of the hotel terrace that over looked Istanbul.

The breakfast terrace has a gorgeous view on St Sofia.

but I loved the small terrace that was attached.

The views from the terrace alone over Istanbul is worth the stay.

There was a good and varied breakfast on offer on the roof terrace which had lovely views.

They are located in the center of the old city and Topkapi Palace and Sultan Ahmet, St. Sophia are very very close to the hotel, so you can walk around.

The location of the hotel is just perfect - next to Topkapi Palace, Gulhane Park, Hagia Sophia Mosque, Blue Mosque, Egyptian Obelisk.

Short walk just 2 minutes to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Museum and Topkapi Palace.

A few meters from the, Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace.

A few more minutes to Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar.

The hotel is located in the very center, it is difficult to think of a better location relative to the main attractions (walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and much more).

From the moment we walked in the door the personal service was exceptional!

We later walked by around 10 am and there were large crowds of people waiting to get in, baking in the oppressive heat.

The location worked very well, allowing us to walk to everything we wanted to see and do.

A few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and Hippodrome.

The location was perfect, 7 minutes walk to the main attractions (Aya Sofia, the blue mosque) and to the tram station.

We were with a friend in this hotel for two nights, we were very satisfied, 3 minutes walk to the blue mosque, clean comfortable room, very good-natured helpful staff.

For those searching out excellent value genuine sunglasses head for Salih Bozkurt , Optik Magazi, Mahmutpasa a short walk from the Grand Bazaar.

negative: the walls are too thin so you can here people next to you and it makes noisy, the price is a little high for what it is.

Tourist attractions ; What we did not expect was that it has a historic abandoned hamam in front, Old Hagia Sofia (read about it :) ) and Old city walls in 1 mins walk.

Only downside is the thin walls and street noise

Walls are fairly thin as you can hear your neighbors,

Walls are extremely thin and you can easily hear a conversation next door or even the tv.

Location is great - mostly closed off street open to pedestrian traffic, right next to Gulhane park, tram and metro stops, walking distance to major tourist landmarks - Topkapi palace, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cisterns, Blue Mosque, Egyptian & Grand Bazaars, hammams and bridges.

The location is outstanding; across from Gulhane Park, steps from Sultanahmet (where the Blue Mosque & Ayasofya are), traffic free street.

It is within walking distance to many of the tourist sites, such as the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.

Topkapi Palace is in easy walking distance, as is Haya Sofia, the Blue Mosque, the Egyptian Bazar, and many restaurants and shops.

but unheard from the hotel, and you're a short walk to the Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, and other sites in one direction, a short walk in the other direction to Eminonu, the ferry piers, Galata Bridge, New Mosque and Rustem Pasa, Gulhane Park a minute away, and both touristy and non-touristy shopping and restaurants everywhere.

Despite being located close to the center of the heavily trafficked Sultan Ahmet area (Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, museums, ferries, waterfronts), this hotel is on a quiet street and overlooking Gulhane Park, yielding a very peaceful and beautiful experience, especially if you can get a balcony room.

It is close to most tourist attractions like Ayasofya, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Gulhane Park and so on.., close to the tram station and 3 minutes from Bosforus, where you can catch a boat to any another destination on the asian side of the city.

but if its your first time in Istanbul, stay at one of the hotels closer to the blue mosque that has a roof top terrace.

I was escorted to my room in the elevator!

but it works, especially with three elevators.

I was unaware that elevators for one wing of the hotel are accessed by going down a few (3?) stairs.

They are all so welcoming and friendly and go that extra mile to make your stay a great one (one even saw the tea me at breakfast and quickly swapped it out for a much better one without any ask - it’s little gestures like this that really adds to the experience).

The waitressing staff are polite and very friendly-thank you Sukru for helping me with the trams & Fathime, Celine & Sukru for the friendly hello every morning.

I stay in this hotel several times because its my favorite in location every thing is near to it marmary  and the tram station and its  rooms very clean and comfortable with excellent breakfast  and very friendly staff

We loved the cooking class he did for us (free) and the friendly staff.

The hotel is in a fabulous location in the Old Town, minutes walk from all the major attractions, fabulous restaurants the Grand Bazaar and shopping.

It is perfectly situated near the tram or easy for walking to sites in the old city such as the Grand Bazaar, Hagai Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and a bit further away to the Chora museum or across the Golden Horn to Galata Tower and Taksim Square.

You are down the street from the tram stop, across the street from Gulhane Park, and a ~ 5-minute walk from Topkapi Palace and the archaelogical museum.
