The hotel has a beautiful roof top pool with views of the nile, a cigar lounge with live music, lounge areas throughout, and an amazing spa that I spent an entire day in!

Roof top pool perfect for cooling down after a day of touring Cairo in the heat.

But we especially enjoyed the rooftop pool bar, which we discovered served dinner.

We stayed few days st this lovely hotel ,we enjoyed the stay so much ,we offered upgrade on the Nile with an amazing view ,our room was spacious enough and clean,the hotel has high level for covid 19 disinfection ,our kids enjoyed a lot at the pool at the roof top.

In particular, the roof top pool is perfect for a refreshing break from the noise, the spa lovely and the jazz bar a secluded piece of heaven.

The hotel has only a small lobby and tight entrance.

but the lobby is small and hard to be found by some taxi drivers.

but not bothered me at all were the low ceilings everywhere and the small pool area.Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

Staff was very kind and charming during our whole stay.

The roof top was really nice after our day trips and the staff was very welcoming.

Only they could start keeping cold towels or cold water in the reception as it's extreme weather conditions and that would add a nice touch to the entire experience!

The breakfast buffet is amazing and the staff there are great.

Or at least not yet: a new Nile pedestrian corniche is under constructions and once finished, a night promenade along the river will definitively offer a beautiful and romantic experience.

Beautiful tree-lined streets to walk around in.

but went to a Lebanese restaurant, Taboula, a couple of minutes walk away which we would highly recommend.

I remember walking in with my husband after a long trip and really looking forward to a good night’s rest.

High attention to details and very welcoming and will walk the extra mile to ensure that you feel welcomed.

We were able to walk to Tahrir square with relative ease, so the metro (and even the Egyptian Museum) are well within reach.

Centrally located in a lovely area where you can walk.

Walking around from the hotel to other restaurants and shopping can be difficult.

This hotel is a 10 min walk from the Kempinski.

Cairo is a big city, and if you like to walk around, hotel’s location is very good for it: everything you can go to is up to one hour walking (it’s better to go with uber, if you wanna go further).

Bar allows smoking and the minute we walked in we knew it - and walked out (a problem throughout Egypt).

The location is across the boulevard from the Nile and a short walk to the museum.

Roof top bar was very nice with a great view of the Acropolis.

Lots of work on the rooftop as well with a decent sized bar that new serves some food as well, and a covered roof for perfect views of the Acropolis.

And above all - the Acropolis trio every corner.

It is also one stop away from Acropolis station.

I got a room which was showing beautiful Acropolis from the window and it looked fabulous in night.

It’s only a couple of minutes walk to Monastiraki metro station on the blue line which runs direct to the airport (€10 each way).

You will go past several cafes etc and if you look to the distance down the road you will see a big sign saying Plaka hotel in blue.

From the airport, you simply take the metro Blue line and get off in Monastiraki and within minutes you are at the hotel.

There are both Green line (goes to Pireus port) and Blue line (Airport) there.

but most welcoming is the 2nd elevator which is even slightly larger than the original 'squeezy' one.

We last stayed at Plaka Hotel in 2019 and since then there have been major updates to the hotel including the addition of a second elevator.

There is no luggage help, so expect to be able to fit yourself and your suitcase into the tiny elevator.

The only negative is that the elevator does not reach the final floor to the rooftop terrace bar,

There is a small lift up to the breakfast area on the first floor.

The lift was not working and we had to use the service lift that barely fitted two of us.

Our room was an end room next to the elevator and in the bathroom was a eye level 12 inch louvered vent.

The single elevator is very small and always busy.

The elevator is pretty tight for 3 people with luggage.

The elevator is small so sometimes it’s hard to get in during the peak hours.

The hotel has 6 floors and does have a lift, albeit a slow one.

We were on the 6th floor and could hear people dragging furniture around on the roof top bar and then heard people as they left the bar at night coming down the stairs (the elevator is TINY).

but Athens is a tight place hence the small lift inside.

Rooms are clean very dark rooms, extremely small lift 2 people with luggage only.

My only issue was the tiny lift which could only take 2 ppl and luggage at a time.

It's the perfect hotel because you are right in the center of historical Athens among the Acropolis, the old Turkish bazzaar and mosque, and near O'Thanasis--- the BEST kebab in the city.

We had a glorious view of the Parthenon from our window.

There is a rooftop lounge with a beautiful view of the Parthenon, especially in the evening.

On return we went by metro from Monisteraki a 5 min walk and metro was really efficient bang on time and took 40 mins as stated direct .The view of Acropolis from hotel rooftop is breathtaking especially at night and walking around it again seeing the Parthenon up close after 27 years was no less wonderful the second time.

The roof top bar is fantastic with the stunning view of the acropolis and Parthenon probably one of the best in town.

The view of the Parthenon is spectacular and we had the whole roof to ourselves!

The best part is the view of Parthenon and breakfast was awesome.

The rooftop bar and restaurant has an amazing view of the Parthenon - great atmosphere for a drink at the end of a long, hot day of sight seeing

Areopagus Hill (well worth visiting) is about a seven minute walk, and the Acropolis, Parthenon etc are all within walking distance too.

My room was overlooking the Parthenon and that absolutely warmed my heart.

And a glass of wine on the rooftop patio with a view of the Parthenon is the perfect way to end a day in the city.

Every night we would go up to the roof top bar and have a drink and stare at the Parthenon for an hour or so.

One thing that we enjoyed in the past was to go on the roof terrace for a pre-dinner drink and enjoy the wonderful panorama of Athens, including, of course, the Parthenon.

The rooftop had a lovely view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon.

The Parthenon overlooked the hotel and was nicely lit at night.

We had a beautiful view of the Parthenon.

It is also within walking distance of the Acropolis (hilltop) and Parthenon (historical temple dedicated to the goddess Athena).

The hotel is a 20 minute walk, all uphill, to the Parthenon

However, there is a balcony and the rooftop bar view cannot be beat.

They had a great roof top bar that unfortunately we didn't have an opportunity to enjoy due to our short stay.
