 - From the moment we walked in, we were genuinely and warmly greeted at the front desk by Araz.
 - It’s in the old historic Centre near the Hagia Sophia & Gülhane Park area so it’s a great for walking to mosques of interest and the Grand Bazaar too.
 - He is happy to make reservations for pretty much anything, and he conducts in-depth tours (complementary to hotel guests, with culinary walk adding a nominal fee) that you should definitely join.

 - Breakfast is Excellent Bedrooms are kept in great condition Location is close to the blue mosque and there are lots of tourists destinations close by Topkopi palace Gulhane park, Grand Bazaar, Spicy bazaar.
 - The location is just perfect close main to all historical places , Hagia Sofia, Blue mosque, Gulhane park.

 - A nother incident that had nothing to do with the hotel is that the restaurant that can bring the food in your room, came to take back the plates after an order at 11:30 PM and woke us out off sleep, it seemed really rude.
 - They hotel manager was so rude and tried to scare us by saying that since it is a prepaid reservation we will not get our money back .
 - The front office person was extremely rude and told us that even if our friend was in our room for a few minutes, he would be charged as a second person in the rooms (we had 3 rooms with 1 adult in each room).
 - and the reception trying push to sell overprice useless tour also was very rude.

 - While in the cab on the way to the hotel, we were contacted on whatsapp to coordinate drop off a few blocks from the check-in desk since cars are not allowed in the immediate area of the hotel.
 - Also, the traffic outside the car free area is terrible, so ask the hotel for help getting taxis.
 - You either take their own car - at an exorbitant 65 euros one way - or get a taxi.
 - The car they sent to pick us up at the airport arrived 25 minutes after we emerged from the terminal.

 - Rooms are small villas scattered on a busy street in the tourist area, hence a feeling of disconnect to the hotel / resort feeling appeared as well as a lack of privacy.

 - The hotel owner / manager was friendly and helpful - and quickly changed our rooms when we pointed out that we were not in the rooms we booked.

 - The Gulhanepark Hotel & Spa is near these landmarks: Kucuk Ayasofya - Gazi Suleyman Pasa Mosque, Eurosa Travel, Keyfi Alem Playstation Cafe, Hayal İstanbul Maltepe, Chiesa di Sant'Andrea Apostolo e Santa Sofia Vedova, Covered Bazaar, Sultan II.
 - He will tip generously and always like to buy food for workers.
 - The hotel itself is less than a 5 minute walk from Topkapi Palace/Basilica Cistern and is close to so many food outlets/tourist shops selling Turkish delight, bakhlava and all sorts of tourist goods.
 - Terrace restaurant served good food at reasonable cost.
 - Very near the tram station and lots of eating joints and little shops around for souvenirs or basics like bottled water etc.

 - Problems for smokers: all the bars and restaurants don't allow smoking inside: european rules.
 - When I asked about if the smell could be dissipated by fans they said no.
 - We experienced a bathroom with fungus and bad smell.
 - Also, our room reeked of cigarette smoke, the Europeans still smoke where they want, and it was in our room!

 - The hotel is ina great location, walking distance from gulhane park and 5min walk to the blue mosque, the hotel is very clean and the staff are very welcoming.

 - it was a 4 floor building with no elevator and just stairs.narrow stairs that 2 people can not across together.
 - Rooms are not child safe and stairs are horribe.
 - Staff take your luggage to your room (ours up 3 flights of stairs (no lifts)) and take it down and into cab waiting at the door of your building when you leave as they collect your key).
 - There were two flights of circular stairs that lead to our door (see photo).
 - when I went their I had to claim 4 stair ways ,and I already talked to the young lady explaining that I have two old ladies they can not claim stares .The streets where very narrow.

 - The room is very bright, as the windows are all over the wall, you can curtain them at night so tightly that the light does not leak.
 - the telephone was broken and you couldn't move in the WC otherwise you would hit a wall.

 - I arrived in the hotel at 9 pm and was welcomed by a receptionist named Husen..He brought me to my room that are located in other building,3 mins by walk..He also arranged my trip-schedule in Istanbul such as night bosphorus cruise and so on..

 - I booked a single room,but it ended up being a box in the basement,no windows,obviously u need to book a different room type
 - I booked a 2 room apartment initially so that my son could sleep quietly while we moved around the apartment.
 - There are four locations for Sultanahmet Suites and we had booked 2 rooms for 4 nights.
 - My only niggle would be that we had booked a room with a sea view, which this room did not have.
