The room was comfortable, room service was amazing and the location is superb as the hotel is in the thick of most historic sites and shopping arras of IST.

The main historical sites can be accessed by foot as the hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque , Hippodrome and Hagia Sofia.

Perfect location in the middle of the historic centre, with extremely helpful and friendly staff, beautiful rooms and great breakfast.

Lovely ottoman style room,on the 5th floor the artwork opposite to the lift is Dolmabahce palace which was the first place we visited on the first day,that was uncanny.

Location couldn't be better, in beautiful Suntanahmet area five minutes walk to Topkapii Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and as it is on the tram line (the rumbling sound of which reminded us our hometown of Melbourne) it is also convenient for visiting Dolmabahce palace, Galata bridge etc.The hotel loans you a tram card that you can add funds to to assist this,

The hotel has been newly renovated in a romantic, highly decorative traditional style.

but really this wasn't my fault so he shouldn't have been unhappy with me.

but mixed weather meant limited use - not the hotel’s fault I know.

The only small criticism, which is not the fault of the hotel, is that it can be a little noisy at night due to the local bars and the tramway that goes right past the front door.

I had a cold for the first two days (I blame my sister lol) and they made sure I had plenty of mint tea to soothe my throat, without me having to ask they offered.


It is difficult to find fault with this stay!

When we had a minor lighting issue in our room, they went above and beyond to fix it.

Nonetheless, after a bit of a delay, we were on our way and the hotel worked to fix the problem as soon as they were aware of it.

Decoration: All the fittings and fixtures of the hotel have been custom-made to give a definite sense of traditional style, with an emphasis on ornate, period gilded-wood furniture, heavy drapes, floral wallpaper and velvet or satin upholstery, chandeliers and glass pendant lighting fittings and wrought-iron work.

The bathroom was separated by glass walls with curtains on the inside, which, when pulled open, created an even more airy and open space.

It had a tiny ante, a small balcony and a glass walled bathroom.

The bathroom it a bit odd in that it has glass walls with curtains.

The glass walls also mean there is just one hook right next to the shower to hang towels and robes, which can maybe hold one, two with difficulty.

The bathroom is a bit strange, a room within a room, a glass box with curtains.

The toilets were very clean and the only problem i had with it was that it had glass walls backed with almost transparent curtains.

This is a very nice hotel in the best location right next to Gulhane tram station.

Very nice, quirky and a small boutique hotel, there are so many different bits and bobs of interesting objects in the lobby, Rooms are nice, with comfortable beds, albeit on the smaller side.

Rooms and building are looking so special, like underground style.

Mini-groceries, bus, tram and ferry stations, small eateries and the Galata Tower, art galleries, even the Dolmabahce Palace are just a stone-throw-away from Sub Karakoy.

The place is convenient for getting the funicular up to Istiklal Caddesi (Beyoglu) or hopping the tram to Sultanahmet or to Dolmabahce Palace.

This is where you would see younger hip crowd of Istanbulites.

It reminds me of a hotel you'd find in SoHo New York with the hipster vibe, artwork, and quirky design ques.

Thus, this has easy access to the traditional sightseeing without worrying about the tourist crowds in a very hip, friendly neighborhood that hasn't totally turned yet.

Main advantages include fantastic location- close to the tram stop and in a very trendy and hip part of Karakoy (there is a very lively strip of trendy cafes/restaurants just a couple of streets away).

It felt intimate (maybe only 20 rooms) with its own little rooftop bar (usually open 6-11), hip eclectic decor, and is super-conveniently located near the trolley line.

There is enough street art and shabby hipster chic to keep your instagran account pinging with likes.

If you like coffee shops and hip stores and beautiful artsy people, this is your spot.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was great - some very good restaurants and cafes nearby, and an easy walk across the bridge to Eminönü and Galata.

The hotel is conveniently located, few minutes walk from some really cool restaurants and cafes and the Karakoy bridge.

We had a great stay here, the location is one of our favorites in Istanbul.

This place is so so cool: lovely and comfortable rooms, amazing and very helpful staff, delicious breakfast in a precious position.

Location is amazing, a 5 minute walk from the bridge, right around the corner from a tram spot (get the Istanbulkart).

Honestly I have no clue why and how anyone would perceive the room as small unless they are used to stay in a suite.

Some youth outside was flying a drone which hit our window and fell down.

Other disadvantage was the noise levels at night particularly on weekends- a problem I think could be fixed with the investment of double glazed windows.

First of all, even i closed all of the windows, the noise from the traffic below was above my threshold and prayers from a close mosque woke me up at an early hour.

but all the other nights we closed the windows and were not disturbed.

The surrounding buildings meant that not enough natural light comes through the windows.

The hotel was relatively pricey for its size; the room and bathroom, both modern and stylish, are on the small side (typical of smaller boutique hotels), and the windows aren’t fully sound-proof; we could hear call to prayer late at night and sometimes the traffic below, which did interrupt a good night’s sleep.

Rooms very comfortable - we had a room at the front of the building and were not troubled by any noise as we kept the windows shut and the air con on during the nights.

BUT I couldn't get one decent night's rest because of the construction going on outside my window in the middle of the night.

the double-glazed windows help to keep the noise down,

but we later found out that it was because we didn't shut our window.

Up in the room, the manager's letter, some Turkish delights, art work, the so called "harbor bed" and a very unique view from our window greeted us. Nr.

the Club lounge was pleasant and served good canopies during the evening with alcoholic beverages, staff were excellent and well worth the little extra.

On the 8th floor is the club lounge with breakfast and happy hour.

You should check - if you can just stay on the club lounge floor and get the breakfast that would save you money.

The Club Lounge was closed during our stay due to covid and instead they provided Globalist happy hour in the hotel bar near reception which had individually wrapped hors d’oeuvres and desserts.

My reasons for coming back to Grand Hyatt Istanbul again and again, is the friendliness of the all the staffs from the least to the top most especially Mehmet Ali zeyrek and Fatma at the club lounge.

The first two nights were in the club lounge , the second two in the library bar which was really nice.

Lovely room & the club lounge was a comfy welcome addition.

The staff in the club lounge was very friendly and made our stay much more enjoyable.The Grand Hyatt is in a good location right next to Taksim Square so that is a good plus.

The club lounge was very pleasant with a nice rotation of small food.

We stayed in a Club room for the first night which allows access to the Club Lounge for a fabulous Turkish breakfast and a big selection of snacks and drinks (including wine and spirits) in Happy hour from 18:00-20:00.

Large well appointed rooms with an excellent Club Lounge service for breakfast and happy hour.

Special mention should go to the staff though, especially those in the club lounge.

Club lounge food is sub par compare to other club lounge

Having been to various club lounges with Hilton and Starwood properties, I would rate this club food as better in variety  than the average club room and up to par of equivalent properties in terms of quality.

Ugur in the mezzanine restaurant made sure I never wanted for anything, Tufan in the Club Lounge was so extremely helpful and accomodating he made me feel at home. Dahlia (sp?)

We had access to the club lounge which is great in the evenings with snacks and complimentary drinks.

Nothing was to much for the guys at reception from making restaurant reservations to booking a private tour to the local attractions
Enjoyed an excellent lunch at the poolside bar and appreciated the free drinks and snacks in the club lounge
Will definitely return to this hotel on the next visit to Istanbul

The Club Lounge always served wonderful food.

- The hotel is located in downtown and in 10mins walking distance to Taksim, and 15 mins (walking downhill) to Dolmabahce Palace.

Beautiful hotel with excellent location to local attractions around Taksim and Dolmabahce Palace.

The hotel location was one of the primary reasons I chose the Grand Hyatt, as it is only a 15 minute walk to the Dolmabahce Palace.

The hotel is within walking distance of Dolmabahce Palace (and even closer to where Besiktas play their home games if you like footie) and not that far a cab ride to Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque etc.

Hotel is located in the Taksim area of Istanbul, near to Dolmabahce Palace and Galata Tower.
