The location is great and the roof terrace has great views of the blue mosque and hagia Sophia.

A perfect location for the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Palace, various spice markets/bazaars and the Sultan Ahmet Parki where you can pick up the ''hop on hop off bus' to tour the city.

Great view of Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque from their rooftop terrace too.

It's at a great location near all the tourist attraction locations such as Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Place as well as the blue mosque and Grand Bazaar.

The  main USP of the hotel is its location which is very close to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque and the other is their staff.

Literally five minutes on foot from the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the hotel is ideally located.

It is literally around the corner from the blue mosque with stunning view from the rooftop.

We stayed at Uyan Hotel for 5 nights in the Blue Mosque Corner Room.

The hotel is just   aa few steps from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia.

We really enjoyed the rooftop terrace, morning and night, with a panoramic view of the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Bosporus/Sea of Marmara.

Uyan is a 3 minute walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and a 5 min walk from the Sultanahmed Trolly stop.

It’s clean, the room was spacious AND it’s a great location to the important sites in Istanbul including the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia.

We stayed here for 5 nights, I went for this hotel due to the location as advice on a first visit to Istanbul seemed geared towards staying in Sultanahmet area, in hind sight I wouldn't actually agree with that advice

The biggest highlight is the location (perfect) and the reception staff.

Uyan Hotel is located in the old part of Istanbul (Sultanahmet) and there is consequently no noise from traffic or late-night bars and discos.

For what I understood (I might be wrong), most of the "poor" and "terrible" reviews to be read on TA date back from the previous manager, so there seems to be much to her credit.

Breakfast is nice, the only poor moment - almost all the same food everyday.

Like others have noted many of the major sites just a couple of minutes walking, and I am a slow walker.

but I found it pretty slow and it was prone to drop out on occasion.

But they are pretty slow to restock the scrambled egg.

Internet is available in the room or outside, sometimes a bit slow,

although the roof terrace view more than makes up for this.

Good breakfast with pleasant view.. Staff helpful & polite.

Take your earplugs if the morning (sunrise) call to prayer disturbs you.

The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are modern and the breakfast is great (you can't beat having breakfast with that view!).

When I booked, I saw very nice pictures including a view of the mosque.

Remember to explore the rooftop - you will get a good view of the surroundings.

but pleasing, sunny and (as above) with a good outlook.

Be aware that this proximity means even with earplugs you will likely wake up from the sunrise call to prayer.

You can enjoy a terrace with breathtaking views.

There is only one Blue Mosque Corner Room in the hotel (it has a nice view of the Blue Mosque) and we had taken care to book that specific room on the hotel's website several weeks before our arrival.

We had a room on the top (4th) floor with a view of the Bosphorous and partial view of the Blue Mosque.

Hotel Uyan is an excellent staying hotel located in the heart of the old city.Most of the monuments are in Sultanahmet square which is just about 3 to 4 minutes walk from the hotel.Very friendly and helpful staff.From the terrace can view Blue mosque and sofiya museum.Mr.Khadir at the reception is a friendly man ,Very helpful.As soon as we arrived he took us to the room,terrace and explained to us about how to go about the sight seeing.Thanks Mr.Khadir

Hotel Uyan is next to Sultanahmet Square, great view of Hagia & Blue Mosque from 3 floor rooms facing north and top of the hotel.

We had breakfast in the rooftop which offered an amazing view of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia from  the back side of the hotel and the sea at the other side.

The Alzer hotel is right next to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia Mosque.

The hotel is only a 2 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia.

The location of this hotel is so convenient for the visitors who like to see the historical areas of Istanbul.

The location is just perfect for seeing the area, everything is close by.

What I want to emphasize - is this location (10 out of 10).

First and foremost the hotel is located in the historical area of Sultanahmet.

When I arrived at the hotel I was very happy with the location

I must say it's one of the perfectly located hotel in sultanahmet just besides blue masjid.

The hotel is located in the wonderful historical center of the city right on Sutlanahmet Square.

We were adored by it's location and a very nice and friendly stuff!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Alzer Hotel, caring service, excellent food & hospitality, great location in old Istanbul and friendly staff and management.

Its location is conveniently close to major sights.

Warm welcoming and helpful staff and great location to see all of the must see sights.

The only negative I would say is that the decor is rather outdated - wouldn't call it modern.

To hear the call to prayer is wonderful and you can smell the history by staying at the Alzer.

The call to prayer cannot be avoided in Istanbul.

Others said the call to prayer was very loud

Be mindful that you are right next to the Mosque so front facing rooms will hear the call the prayer.

Added bonsu for heavy sleepers- call to prayers BLASTED into your room, like out of a movie

Expect the 5.30am prayer call, it only lasts for a few minutes and you can easily go back to sleep.

but this does not protect you from the morning call to prayer at 5:15am!

Calls from the muezzin can be heard during the day,

She wasn't getting any better so asked the front desk if they would call a doctor.

The only downsides: at 4:30 am, being so close to the Blue Mosque for the call to prayer was not helpful in shaking jet-lag.

On balance I would avoid The Alzer until the contruction work has been completed, phone or Email them first to check on progress, as the pavement outside the hotel may have been completed when you plan to travel.

The hotel is directly across the street from the Blue Mosque, therefore you are awakened at 4:30 each morning to a very loud speaker system for the call to prayer.

She had no money and no way to contact us (our cell phones did not work).

You soon get used to the loud calls to prayers from the Blue Mosque too - all adds to the authentic experience rather than the more sterile chain hotels.

Other people have mentioned the call to the prayer in the early hours of the morning which, of course, is quite loud given the proximity to the Blue Mosque.

After numerous phone calls he located it, then ran the couple to the airport to recover their cases & then sped back to the port in his car and got them on their Cruise ship minutes before it sailed.

As we were on the third floor we did leave the window ajar at night to try and combat this, at least until the early morning call to prayer!

however recommend taking ear plugs to anyone whose sleep is likely to be disturbed by the morning call to prayer.But after the first night  this actually seemed to lull rather than intrude.

but then got used to it.loved the hotel,we were upgraded to lovely rooms 24&25 as we booked 2 rooms.it had a private small hallway so only needed to lock that main door for privacy.location is everything!

The number of the hotel doesn't work , want to book a room that over looks blue mosque .

Our reserved room was not available the first night, so we were put up in their big 4th floor suite facing the Blue Mosque.

My family and I were 6,  so we booked 2 rooms where I shared one room with 2 daughters and my husband with our two sons.

I was not best pleased on arrival to find that they didn't have the room reservations we had asked for - one twin room.

We were told that they had double booked our room etc

but, when we reached the hotel after our airport pick-up, we learned that "there was a mistake" : they had booked 22 rooms instead of 21 for that first night :-(( of course, they took us to another hotel "next door" (50 meters) but this was a bit disappointing .

Room was small & cozy which we didn’t mind since we used it for sleep only.

After all, you are only sleeping and touring.

If you are planning just to go to sleep is perfect!!

but in reality all you are going to use your hotel room for on a vacation is to sleep.

If you are two in the bed, you have to sleep very close together to be fully covered.

NOt  to mention that we were there 3 nights to sleep and did not sleep at all.

My advice: only sleep in this hotel after the escape routes have been cleared again.

though it tends to get very noisy and I had trouble sleeping even with the windows closed.

Recommendations:
You might need mosquito repellent for a good night sleep.

AC was a bit slow to work so cooling the room took time.

Upon arrival our flight was late and getting through customs slow.

At times the WIFI was fine, other times it was so painfully slow that we gave up.

The mattresses were completely ridden with them.

Worst hotel in sultanahmet, manager on duty don’t care (Elif) and reception staff (Serhat- tall with curly hair) has the worst attitude, dirty bedding which has not been changed in days, bathroom shower filthy and grimy, dust under beds is so thick and can see it has not been swept for long time, I had to first show them the video that I took before they would sweep under beds, service is so bad.

Day 1 woken covered in bed bug bites all over our bodies.

One skimpy pillow on the bed, no internet at night.

So we all had to jam into my one room, and then the hotel tried to charge us for using a rollaway bed.

While I was resting in my bed, I realized that some bugs were running over me and my pillow.

I again called the receptionist to my room upon which we were shown another one with double beds

Problems with tv, problems with the bed, cleaning under the bed is never done,

First night stay in 102, request for queen room

Could hear plates banging and people speaking each morning, had no sunlight in the room, no phone reception, the room was old and bed was really uncomfortable.

The other beds were terrible old and broken.

The room was really small with double bed and a small bathroom not really nothing else.

even though ours faced the street noise was minimal as the road is very narrow, not conducive to excessive traffic, (there are bigger rooms with balconies that over look the courtyard) a fair sized shower room with clean linen daily, toiletries, tea and coffee are also replenished with a small bottle of water for that early morning or late night cuppa.

though the walls are quite thin and the mattress does need replacing.

That said it’s about 10 min walk to Topkapı palace 5 min walk to the blue mosque 7 mins walk to saint Sophia’s church & about 15 mins walk to the grand Bazaar.breakfast is a typical Turkish breakfast (it’s the same as most budget hotels ) & of course is seasonal.there is no longer a restaurant in the hotel however there must be 100 within a 10 min walk we found the nearest one was good “the cosy cafe “

Easy to locate just across from the Stables Market, cross the square of the Blue Mosque from the tram stop.

The location is very good; close to all turist attractions such as bazaars, The Blue Mosque, Hagia-Sofia, Kopkapi Palace etc.

Rotting wood around doors and windows, mold in the shower.

•	Walls are paper thin – OK if you like listening to the intimacies of the 
        people next door.

but the room needs a refurbishment - the shower door is broken, the shower head needs a replacement and a safety box is not working.

The bathroom was so small it felt like you were in a cupboard and the fixtures and fittings were all in need of repair (the seal on the shower door was hanging off, the shower head was broken and the basin tap was hanging off.

And the beautiful ouside area is actually from another hotel next door.

), member of staff knocking on your door around 10 pm only to ask you (with very broken and hard to understand English) to sign bill for minibar use (and again problem what was and was not used).

The bathroom was also on the  small side; i could not open the door whilst my husband was brushing his teeth at the washbasin, i had to wait until he either came out or stood in the shower - yes it was that tight!

1st night, balcony door cannot be locked, poor wifi, only one power socket;
2nd night, room changed, balcony door is fine, no wifi at all;
3nd night, when we came back, our room door was open, and i do remember when we left in the morning, cleaner get in and started their job.

The balcony room door was poor quality and not easy to securely lock.

And if you have the misfortune to have next door's bathroom by your bed head, as we did, you get used to hearing your neighbours performing their bodily functions in the night and flushing the loo.

but the thin walls and doors and the tunnel effect of the corridor meant we could hear every word of every conversation held at reception, including throughout the night.

There was a sizable gap under the door, and the corridors were all marble.

Noisy, drunk guests and slamming doors at 2-3am made it impossible to sleep and it felt more like a hostel at that time.

The door between the breakfast room and floor should be closed, since it is very noisy, when thea start to prepare the breakfast.

Room was in a corridor very close to the hotel entrance and you could very much hear people in the corridor, rooms next door and above.

Rooms not sound proof, we could hear everything from the room next door and outside.

only slight negative was that there was no lock on the balcony door.

Also I found the security  chain helping keep the door secure was not properly attached to the door frame.

No elevator in this hotel as it had a countryside style.
